    Amazon.com Product Description

Unique among keyboards, the Yamaha PSR275-AD offers a backlit LCD capable of displaying musical notes, chord information and various functions, a touch-sensitive keyboard that responds like a piano, General MIDI (GM) compatibility for playing songs, XGlite technology that offers a huge selection of voices and even greater MIDI song-file compatibility, and even a PC Button for easy computer connectivity.

The PSR275-AD delivers 32 notes of polyphony--that is, it can sound up to 32 notes at one time--enough for the most demanding needs. If you're buying a keyboard with piano sound in mind, you'll want Yamaha's Touch Response feature. On an acoustic piano, striking a key harder will produce a louder sound, striking it softer will produce a softer sound. Yamaha's "Touch Response" is designed to make the keyboard respond like an acoustic piano.

The PSR275-AD features a stereo-sampled piano voice and dynamic filtering--technology previously reserved for much more expensive, professional keyboards. A single dedicated button brings up a great-sounding piano, rich and authentic in its sound and exceptionally responsive to your playing and sets up the keyboard to play as a piano in full-keyboard mode. Further, a wealth of special piano-only "Pianist" styles--like Piano Ballad or Stride, for example--provide professional-sounding piano accompaniment that changes chords automatically as you do, while you play a piano melody on top.

Portable keyboards are compact and light enough to fit just about anywhere--including next to your computer. If you're planning on connecting your keyboard to your computer, you'll be happy to know that the PSR275-AD is GM (General MIDI System Level 1) compatible. This means the keyboard will accurately reproduce any GM music files that you download into your computer--and almost all music files on the Internet are GM-compatible. It also has a large selection of XGlite voices, offering even greater compatibility with both third party and Yamaha XG software.

Now, instead of wading through function menus and fighting through a maze of selections, one button is your expressway to music on the Web and your computer. All Yamaha keyboards have a special MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) port on the back that let you connect your keyboard to a computer (your computer requires a MIDI Interface like the Yamaha UX16 and music software). Once connected, you can play your songs into the computer, edit them if necessary, and e-mail them to your friends and family. And with General MIDI (GM) compatibility, song data always plays back with the correct sounds.

The PSR275-AD comes with 100 built-in songs and a physical song book. But if you've never played before, where do you start? If learning to play music is important to you, the Yamaha Education Suite II, a useful set of music-training functions, greatly simplifies learning music. A special Chord Dictionary shows you how to play chords and tells you which chords you are playing by displaying the notes and chord name on the LCD.

The PSR275-AD comes with 100 built-in styles, waiting for you to play along with. Call up your favorite style of music (like Rock, Big Band, or Country), press a chord or play "single finger" mode, and the PSR275-AD will follow you through a piece of music, providing all the drums, bass, piano, guitar, horn, and string parts for you.

A special port on each of the keyboard's two speakers adds dramatic impact to bass reproduction. Digital signal processing (DSP) enhances sound quality with sophisticated digital effects like harmony, reverb, and chorus.

    5-0 out of 5 stars Try K-Mart
I agree, the sound output level is a little low, but it was a steal from K-Mart at $99.99! Now if only I could get an adjustable height, screw-on stand for about $25 to go with it....

1-0 out of 5 stars The biggest dissapointment since andretti racing for ps1
I bought this keyboard, fully intending to have a good time with it and there it was not working! I bought it new and during shipping it must have broken! I lost $179.99 of my hard earned money; Its overpriced, overated, and mine didn't work! I don't know if those people who shipped it were just mocking me or I got the bad end of a bad deal, maybe it is just a piece of junk or am I the victim of a prank? I don't know how it works because as I said mine didn't work! I don't know if you would still want it but I wouldn't take that risk again.

2-0 out of 5 stars Sort of good( not recommended for hard hearers)
Well i disagree with jimbo but sort of agree. Its outrageously quiet for a keyboard but you may be able to buy an amp. And it is touch sensitive. Did you try that jimbo? If you did you must have been using a hammer because nothing breaks the fourth time you use it! But anyway this review is about the keyboard not an idiot named jimbo. It is good for beginners, but for pros like me it is useless i have a hard rating scale i gave it one star for being good for beginners and the other one because you can't give it zero. I am good with the keyboard but a lot of the music i want to play, you need 81 keys. This board only has 61! I wish i paid more attention when i clicked buy it now, the moral of the review is don't buy it unless you read the reviews carefully, they usually are true.

1-0 out of 5 stars "boo" a big thumbs way down
Mine broke after the fourth time i used it! The sound was too quiet also! When i tried to play with my buddies in my basement their sound blew mine away they told me to start playing and i was playing! They told me to get a new one or i was out of the group! And they "were" my best friends! I spent all the money i had on it! Please don't don't give these filth mongers the pleasure of getting your money and use it to buy a new toilet the money is better spent down the toilet than on that keyboard!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Value for Budget
For those who doesn't have enough budget for Piano, this keyboard is for you. This is Yamaha's lowest type among its products that has touch sensitive capability, means you can press the key with your emotion, just like piano. Compare to Casio in the same class LK-50 (also casio's lowest end with touch sensitive), Yamaha produce closer stereo sampled piano sound. This was the highest value of PSR 275 which was being my last minute decision point between the two fighters.

    Pros:
    - Touch sensitive key
    - Very close stereo sampled piano sound
    - Wide variety of selectable voices
    - The color look fresh and modern

    Cons:
    - Song bank has 100 songs, but are not coming from wide variety of song genre.
    - Doesn't have song memory, to save and edit our performance.
    - The sound is not really out loud, even put in high volume. But it's considerably ok and understandable for home use. ... Read more

    Amazon.com Review

The DGX300AD is the second in Yamaha's top-of-the-line Portable Grand series. This keyboard has 76 piano-size keys, 619 voices, and contains pretty much every other function available on any other Yamaha keyboard, including Yamaha Educational Suite, lots of auto-accompaniments, and a built-in sequencer and built-in floppy drive. This keyboard is tremendously easy to use, despite many complicated features. It's portable, and will keep novice and advanced musicians busy playing and creating music for a long time.

In our opinion, the sound quality from the speakers is not as good as the DGX200AD. We found the quality of the speakers on the DGX300AD on the weaker side, with the treble frequencies not as strong as the lower frequencies. The actual keys on the DGX300AD are more like piano keys than on lower-end keyboards. While still far off from feeling like real piano keys (there is not much "weight" or resistance to them at all), the keys are nice to the touch.

If having a built-in floppy drive is not as important to you, we would recommend going for the DGX200AD. It also has 76 keys, but they are not the piano-sized keys. If you are interested in a full-size keyboard (88 keys), you may want to look at the DGX500AD. Overall, the DGX300AD is a full-featured keyboard with a budget-friendly price--perfect for learning and music making. --Chris Fresolone

5-0 out of 5 stars A great piano for an even greater price!
Designed for beginners and professionals alike, the DGX-300 combines musical technicality with an outstanding price of under $500. This unit with 76 keys, has more than enough for the complex player, yet offers built-in learning programs for the beginning hobbyist. I love my DGX-300, and I love it's amazing rich piano sound. I was worried at first when I began shopping for a keyboard. I wanted something that wouldn't sound like a fake plastic paino. This machine actually senses your stress on the keys, and sounds exactly like a concert grand. It's absolutely amazing. I was also very impressed with the sound quality, as it was also amazing. The speaker reviews should not at all be a factor in the purchase of this unit. For this price, and the Yamaha name, you're not going to find an instrument as great as this.

5-0 out of 5 stars My key is on the board
Someday I will be a master player... These keyboards are just amazing! I love to play with these! There hundrends of special options ans sounds. Beginner can learn easily to play with Yamaha keyboards because you can use teaching program and see on the blue screen, which key you are touching. There are five memory places that you can make your own songs and save them. If you are bored to play normal piano sound, you'll try other sounds for exemple harpcicord, bass, heavy quitar, gun, dog barking or helicopter tunes. There are many vital buttons: metronome(choose your own personal playing speed), touch-sensitive( you can play quiet and loud because your hands will control how hard you press the keys) and pc-portable( you can make music with computer and make your own remixes) Yamaha keyboards are a great choose to buy if you are planning to start a new hobby!

4-0 out of 5 stars Yamaha DGX300 for Home Use
I am very pleased with the quality and layout of this board. Prior to purchasing I read less than favorable results on the sound quality. My unit sounds great through the speakers and even better through headphones or amplified. This should not be a limiting factor on your decision. The 76 keys are great, the sounds are exceptional. While there are drum tracks and every percussion sound imaginable, I would prefer to have a drum kit built in to add greater flexibility. Most of the music and sound databases are from the 40's - 60's, old time favorites, etc. Would prefer to have something with more modern appeal. You can download and upload from disk so maybe this is the go round. Too early to tell. Great unit at a great price. Highly recommended. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent little audio interface
Works flawlessly under OS X. Nice and compact, great sound quality. When I upgraded to OS X 10.4 (from 10.3), it seemed to stop working. I emailed Tascam support and got a reply in a few hours. As it was, I resolved the problem before I got their reply (a second reboot after re-installing the drivers fixed it). Anyway, I was really pleased that they responded so quickly. Makes it all the more likely that I'll upgrade to the FW-1884 instead of switching brands.

4-0 out of 5 stars Really good but it could be a big pain to setup and maintain
This is the first attempt I took at multitrack recording.I didn't realize how hard it was to setup computers for recording audio. If you are expecting to just plug this into your computer and instantly have a home recording studio, you may be painfully suprised.

I have read several reviews on this particular product and it seems like there have been mixed reviews. Some people got it to work flawlessy on the first try, some couldn't get it to work at all, and others got it to work after lots and lots of frustration.

The last scenario would be me.Ever since I set this up I've been having problems with it skipping during recording. It's really annoying. That is the only problem I've had though.I have revamped my whole computer several times to try and get it to stop skipping and I haven't had any success yet.

My computer has much better specs than what the minimum requirements on the box say too.If you are not very computer literate, I definitely would not recommend this product. If you are like most people who have used this product, you're gonna have problems that need fixed and you're gonna have to know your way around the computer to be able to fix them.

If this intimates you, I would suggest getting a stand alone multitrack recording unit instead. There are lots available. They have all the same capablities of this program, but you won't have to plug it into a computer. You just plug in your intruments, plug into a wall, and start recording.I've never used one personally but I imagine they would be less of a pain since they are already set up to work properly without any gliches. The only downside is that you won't have a nice big screen to navigate around your songs with. Many of the affordable standalone units have a little screen for you to try and see what's going on.I imagine that would be pretty annoying.

There are lots of websites around that have been made by people who are very experienced in the art of home recording.I would do my research before jumping into buying this.Make sure that you see all your options.I didn't do as much research as I should have.If I were to do it over, I think I would have got a standalone unit.

Once you get this thing to work right though, it is really good. You can get some really high quality recordings with it.The price is really good compared to other options also. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars No documentation
You better know how to use a chromatic tuner if you buy this because the "instruction" booklet doesn't bother to tell you. I've got red and green lights flashing at me--have no idea what all this means.

5-0 out of 5 stars An entry level tuner
I am a beginning guitar student and I have no idea how to tune a guitar. This little, easy to carry, easy to use device is invaluable. It's auto function is amazing, just play the note and it will automatically recognize what you're trying to do.For someone like me who doesn't want to spend valuable practice time reading manuals for their tuner this is the perfect device. The built in mic works perfectly. Can't beat the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Value
This tuner is a great bargain. It works properly and efficiently, and works well for any type of instrument. The microphone is very sensitive, and even in a room of instruments warming up, I am able to tune my flute. (It also has a jack for guitar tuning.) Overall, this tuner is simply a great deal for the money spent.

5-0 out of 5 stars great product, great new store on Amazon
Let's face it, what you want in a tuner is something that's going to give you high accuracy in an easy-to-use manner. This is exactly what this tuner offers. I'm using it for both electric and acoustic guitars, and it works like a charm on both. It's got both automatic and manual tuning, but the auto tune is so accurate, it's all I use.

I also want to say that I think it's wonderful that Amazon has teamed up with Musician's Friend. MF is a fantastic online store for everything a musician needs, with often much lower prices than any brick-and-mortar stores I've been in. I received my order just two days after I placed it, and the products are very high quality.

So, there's my two cents. I guess you could pay more for a tuner with some bells and whistles, maybe a metronome, but you have to ask yourself how much you're really going to need all that. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Broadcasting Mic
I am a Dj and the SM7B is a pretty good mic it is clear and has an occasional pop. I think that for on air use it is a good affordable buy. I would recommend it very highly.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST VOICE MICROPHONE THERE IS!
If you are looking for a microphone for voice-overs or broadcast use, THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO BUY.

The Shure SM-5 and SM-7 microphones are the best voice mics ever made. The large SM-5 is no longer made, so you can only find it used, but the SM-7 is just as good.Either one, you have the best.

Don't let the price fool you. I have brought this in to studios that have $3000 Neuman condenser mics and they laughed when I said I wanted to use my $300 Shure mic instead.I told them to put up both mics and do an A/B test while I spoke into each of them. They had to agree, the Shure was better and it was a night and day difference, not hard at all to decide it was best.

Even industry publications like MIX MAGAZINE and RadioWorld have done reviews where they did the same tests and said the same things about this mic in comparison to the expensive condenser mics.

This mic has a warmth and rich sound no other mic can give you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great buy
I used to play a lot of folk guitar years ago and wanted "something with strings", with a small neck (I have tiny hands) to fool around with. I was not really looking for a serious instrument, or to spend much on what would probably be a passing fancy. However, for $25, including shipping, I ended up with what appears to be a decently made baritone uke (4 strings, tuned the same as the 4 lower strings on a guitar - if you can play the guitar, you can play this). No kidding. It has a nicely finished mahogany body, geared pegs, and real strings. The tone even has some resonance and character. The plastic gig bag it comes with zips closed and is junky, but serviceable. For the money, it's really a great deal.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but you get what you pay for...
This is a good starter instrument in my opinion (I'm a beginner so I 'm not sure how much weight that statement carries). It's got a good tone, a nice look (although some of the paint is a bit sloppy) and is easy to tune. The gig bag it comes with is a cheap plastic/vinyl-ish material, and doesn't provide much protection, although it's nice to have anyway.
When recieved, the uke was a bit dusty, and needed some wiping down (especially the strings, because they seemed to have some kind of black grease on them in places, although this may vary as I ordered mine from Musician's Friend at the same price as Amazon). It wasn't anything that a soft cloth and a couple of minutes couldn't fix.
Although I've only had it for about a week, I've learned a couple of chords and I've begun to learn some simple songs. The action isn't very high (the spacing between the strings and the fret board) which makes for several days of playing before I started to feel some tenderness in my fingertips.
Overall, this is a neat thing to have, and fun to play.Don't expect it to be a toy, nor should you expect it to be a pro instrument. It's somewhere on the lower-middle side. The price can't be beat too! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars These picks rock!!!
Here is my poem called "These Picks Rock!!!"

    These picks rock
    And these picks roll
    These picks have funk
    These picks have soul

    I still have to buy
    A good guitar
    But me and my pick
    Can still go very far

    I wish I wasn't a
    Disappointment
    To my family
    But they say I have
    No feelings and no
    future, and when I
    stole all that money to
    support my "hobbies," I should
    have considered paying it back
    instead of giving my family
    the finger and telling them
that I wouldn't come to the
    family reunion if my life
    depended on it.Now that
    I need that transplant...looks
like my life does kinda depend
    on it.Oh well.

    These picks rule!
    These picks are cool.
    I don't mean to shock,
    But these...picks...rock!!! ... Read more
