Equipped with a UV germicidal light to help kill airborne microorganisms and a three-speed fan to continuously circulate air through two filters, this portable air purifier removes smoke, pollen, dust, animal dander, dust mites, molds, bacteria, viruses, and odors. Helpful for asthmatics, allergy sufferers, and cold/flu patients, the purifier contains a true HEPA filter that is at least 99.97 percent effective at trapping tiny particles; a prefilter reduces odors. A digital readout displays air quality (good, fair, or poor), and the fan can be set to automatically adjust speed according to air-quality needs. Digital indicators show when filters need replacing. The purifier measures 19-1/2 by 14 by 8-1/4 inches and is recommended for rooms up to 350 square feet. Filter replacement is simple: open front, remove prefilter and/or HEPA filter, position new filter(s), and close. The purifier carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Quiter than Blueair
I have severe asthma and have been VERY pleased with the 04163 Hamilton Beach Air Purifier. I'm not sure what planet the negative reveiwers are from but I investigated all the options regardless of price. I went by Sears and looked at the Kenmore. The reviewer who liked it must work for Sears because it isn't even in the same ballpark as the Hamilton Beach. I briefly bought and returned a BlueAir which cost twice as much and is supposed to be the quietest. Instead it has an irritating high pitched whine that oscillates and would be better utilized as a torture device. The Hamilton Beach, on the other hand, is not only quiet, but the white noise it makes is actually soporific. I prefer to sleep with it on and it runs 24/7. I use to have a constant problem with mold in my master bathroom, but the Ultraviolet light on the Hamilton Beach has kept it from returning. The other day I chased my golden retriever into the bedroom with ear cleaner and to my surprise the automatic fan smelled it, and dealt with it, turning the fan on automatically to a higher setting briefly. I couldn't even smell it myself. To describe it's air cleaing capability, I will just end by saying this, the reason I am on this site is I am getting ready to buy a second Hamilton Beach for my office.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, For Its Price and Intended Purpose
Haven't had it for very long, just a couple of months, but I like it. I had a Honeywell room unit that was okay, but I had no idea how well it was working. With the HB, the air sensor gives you some idea of how well it's working. When first hooked up, the HB showed that the Honeywell was doing a good job of cleaning. At first, I thought maybe I should have just stayed with the Honeywell. I had initially stayed away from using the UV light, after reading that it didn't do anything. Wrong. When I finally switched on the UV light, a lot of my nighttime nasal congestion disappeared. That feature, plus the sensor, makes this model a 4- rather than 3-star product. (Keep in mind tthat this is a one-room unit and not intended for people with severe allergies.)

Seems to have a small but noticeable effect on keeping dust down.

Whisper Quiet ... isn't. But it's no louder than the Honeywell. I also selected Super Saver shipping, saved some money, and got it in five business days. If this unit lasts another year without problems, I'll buy another for another room in my house.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works great but noisy
I have been using this product for a year now with great results. It really does seem to clean the air and has improved my allergies. The filters are extremely easy to replace when necessary. My only complaint is that it is noisy, too noisy for me to use when I am sleeping.

5-0 out of 5 stars Work great
My room used to be very dusty but since I purchased this product, the room is much cleaner.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Impressed
It has been 3 months since I received the air purifier, one word, WOW.

For over 3 years, I have suffered from postnasal drip and congestion every morning due to minor dust allergies. I have noticed this has progressively gotten worse over this period. In an effort to remedy this situation, I was more diligent in dusting and cleaning my apartment and I visited my doctor a few times over the past few years. I was prescribed allergy pills and steroids in an effort to cure me, nothing worked.

I finally decided to buy an air purifier as general means of breathing cleaner air. I selected this one based on the reviews and comments others reported and was not disappointed. Literally, the first night I used the purifier, it cured my postnasal drip problem. The morning after, my nasal passage was clear and dry. I could breathe!!! Now every night before bed, I turn on my purifier and every morning now, I wake up clear and congestion free. I have even noticed when I am away from my purifier/apartment, the congestion returns.

Now to review the product itself... I must say the gadget-lover in me, opted for the UV light and digital readout of this particular model. Honestly, I probably could have done without the UV light and digital readout. There have been nights where I forgot to turn on the UV light and still woke up fine, perhaps it may be more effective in the winter when there are more germs flying around. The only semi-annoying thing is the device does not remember the UV setting when you turn it off. With the digital readout, I think I could have done without it. As I said, I love gadgets and features like this. However, it does work though. For example, when I open my window, it quickly determines the air is much dirtier and reacts accordingly. How smart!!!

People have noted that the purifier is very noisy. I think this is a purely subjective matter. I live in NYC on a ninth floor apartment off the East River on the FDR Drive. I am accustom to a certain amount of noise. I am subject to varying levels of car and wind noise 24/7. Concerning the purifier, I typically run it at low speed each night (I only run it at night). It is positioned at the foot of my bed. IMHO, using the lowest speed is no noisier than running an air conditioner at low speed. After a couple nights, it became white noise and is hardly noticeable to me now.

As far as size goes, I was a bit surprised how large it is but considering the size of the HEPA filter. It is not that bad in comparison. I am sure the larger size helps in better coverage of a large sized room.

The only negative I could come up with is the price (I paid about $140) but, given my success with the purifier, I cannot really claim this as a real fault. After 3 months, I am still on the original HEPA filter. The carbon filter I actually rinsed off the dust with some running water a couple times. It is a bit of a messy process but seems effective. I recently ran the built-in test on the filters and it passed. The replacement HEPA filter is a bit pricey; I think it should cost a lot less. They run about $40 to $50 each while the replacement carbon filters run three for $10.

Overall, I am very, very, very happy with my purchase. The money I paid was worth it. I can breathe!!! However, if can settle for the smaller size and/or without the digital readout, just get a lower-end model which sells for much less. The most important feature is the HEPA filter. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Silent night
We live in Hawaii and like many people here suffer terribly from allergies, especially when the Kona winds are blowing from the big island, bringing the dreaded "vog" (volcano smog) with them. On top of that, my husband is allergic to our two beloved cats (the cats and I decided to keep him anyway) and I was allergic to his subsequent noisy snoring, so I purchased this item. I must admit I thought it might wind up just being another gadget lying around the house, but I am very pleased to report that it is an extremely useful device that has made our sleep significantly more peaceful and restful. We keep it on automatic most of the time; it's a tad noisy at night if it kicks into high gear, so occasionally we switch it onto whisper quiet before we sleep. I'm so glad we bought it, and I'd recommend it to anyone who suffers from allergies or has pets that they don't want to banish from the house. I also like the streamlined design of the Hamilton Beach model, the others looked too heavy and obtrusive.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great purifier for the price!
I recently purchased this unit with hopes of reducing dust and other particulates in my bedroom. For reference, I live in Manhattan where the air quality is sometimes not the greatest.

Summary: Great unit for the price. Super ergonomics and clear displays make this unit a winner!

    Positive aspects

    1. Inexpensive price. Good value for the buck compared with many other filters on the market.

    2. Good ergonomics. I actually liked the fact that you can monitor filter lifespan and air quality on a clear to read LCD. You can also see if the anti-germ UV bulb is working by seeing a glow out of a darkly tinted (for safety!) window on top.

    3. Easy to set up! I had this puppy up and running in under 10 minutes. Pretty foolproof installation makes this one a keeper.

    4. Great filtering technology. The unit can automatically adjust to the air quality in your room. Very nice! Also, I noticed a change in the air quality within 1 hour of operation.

    5. Small form factor. After all, no one wants a huge unit in their bedroom!

    Some minor complaints:

    1. Power cord. I wish the power cord were a bit longer so that I could have greater placement flexability. Not a big deal.

    2. UV bulb. Replacing the UV germicidal bulb is tad bit expensive. Again, not a big deal.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great, but doesn't seem to last
This air cleaner has to be one of the coolest air cleaners out there. So far, I have not seen any in this price range that automatically adjust to the air quality. I like that it comes with a guage to let me know when I need to change the hepa filter. The gauge and a cleaner for the air sensor each have a special storage spot, so they don't get lost.

The one I have now is the second one I have bought, but the third one that I have had.

The first one worked for about 9 months, then the motor started to squeak. I called Hamilton Beach, and they asked me to send it in for warranty service. I got a brand new one back. I was about to have to change the filter in mine, so it worked out kinda nice. The new unit lasted about a year, then the motor just stopped. It was out of warranty by this point, so I went out and bought another.

Now I have had my third unit for about 6 months, and the motor died again, so I am going to have to call Hamilton Beach again, and probably ship it out.

I would think the motors should outlast the HEPA filter, but it hasn't been the case. I am a smoker, so it cycles from low to high quite often, but I wouldn't think that should be a problem.

When this filter works, it works great.... It helps keep my place from stinking from the smoke, and helps my allergies. The customer service has been great so far too. I just wish the unit would last.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product
I bought this machine to help me with my allergies. It has worked tremendously and I highly recommend it. Running the purifier in the bedroom overnight has allowed me to sleep peacefully. The purifier is also excellent in the kitchen at removing any odors from cooking.
The machine is louder than I would like. On the lowest setting it can still be heard but is tolerable, and after a while you don't notice it. On the highest setting the noise is deafening and forces me to turn it to a lower setting. However, on the highest setting it is very fast and effective at cleaning the air in an entire room.

5-0 out of 5 stars Does it all
This air filter is designed amazingly well. It can even be placed against a wall. The air enters through the front passing through a carbon and hepa filter, then the air exits through the top on its way back out into the room. Before the air exits, it passes by an ultraviolet light which kills mold spores, bacteria & viruses (a must for the au courant hypochondriac). It is very quiet & has a sensor which automatically & temporarily increases the fan speed to clean the excess pollution from the room. It even has a digital display to let you know it's working. This air purifier has everything you need and all for under $150. After owning it for two weeks, I bought a second one. If you have allergies (and even if you don't), buy one and your nose and lungs will most definitely thank you. ... Read more

Rid a room of excessive dust, pet dander, and pollen for enhanced respiration without resorting to chemical cleaners with the innovative Ionic Pro ionic air purifier. The electrical air purifier operates at 120v AC and 60Hz to quietly circulate and clean indoor air. The purifier air filters air in to collect debris and allergens before releasing clean air back into the room.

The ionic air purifier works by emitting a positive charge into a room. Particles in the air likewise become positively charged. As air travels through the air purifier, allergens naturally gravitate and cling to the negatively-charged metal collection plates in the appliance. The air purifier features a grounded plug for use in grounded-style outlets. Energy efficient, the purifier allows users to choose between low, medium, and high power levels to best address a room’s size and allergen content without wasting energy. The air purifier works best in rooms up to 500 square feet in size. The purifier uses a LED display to indicate the selected power level. Another light indicates when the purifier requires cleaning. While many other air purifiers require the purchase of replacement filters, this model does not use filters. Users clean the purifier by wiping its collection plates clean with a rag according the cleaning directions outlined in the product manual. The purifier should be cleaned every four to five days. For user safety, the purifier should be turned off and then unplugged prior to cleaning. This item is intended for indoor use only and should be situated approximately 12 inches from the outlet. Do not use the purifier in bathrooms, near fireplaces, or in spaces with frequent exposure to flammable vapors. Ionic Pro offers a one-year warranty for this item. 3-0 out of 5 stars Works, but ...
I bought two of these. I live near a heavy traffic street, and it gets filled with black particles every three of four days, and I believe my allergies and my son's are getting better.

    The problems:

    1. The power light is so bright that you do not need a night lamp to read.
    2. Good thing is that the power light stopped working after two days, I had to put some black tape on the other unit to have a dark room for sleeping.
    3. One of the two units I bought makes and extremely loud noise. I tried to change the blades from the other, but the problem seems to be in the unit and not the blades. Being outside the U.S., bad luck for me.

1-0 out of 5 stars DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
I fail to understand ANY of the positive reviews of this item since it so obviously doesn't work. I've been running it now for several months in a very dusty house (with 3 dogs, no less) and it hasn't removed enough dust to bother with-certainly no where near what the manufacture claims. And given the cost of the unit, hardly justifiable.
It's just another attempt of corporate America (or maybe China,I don't know) inventing any gimmick to relieve consumers of their hard-earned cash.
You're far better off buying one of the $20 fan-driven units that have been around for years. In spite of the drawbacks to these units, they do work.
If you're in the market for a tall, black, ugly, object that takes up space in your living room, by all means buy this!

2-0 out of 5 stars Similar to Ionic Breeze, but not quite "silent" (as claimed)
I got this because it was about $50 cheaper than a refurb ionic breeze. It seemed to do something - there was some crud collected on the blades - but I didn't notice any difference in the smell of the room really.Worse is that it has a very faint buzzing sound even when the blades are completely clean. It said that it is supposed to be completely silent on the box.

I returned it for this reason and just received a refurb ionic breeze from Sharper Image today.Hopefully it will work better and will be silent (my friend has one and claims you can't hear a thing even if you put your ear on it, so hopefully that's true).

If the manufacturer reads these reviews: please fix the buzzing and you'll have a decent product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
I just cleaned off the blades in my ionic pro that i bought a couple of weeks ago and they where completly caked and covered with dust.I have noticed a huge difference since I bought this product my allergies have been reduced considerably and their is no more dust or other allergins floating around the room.I have also recieved comments about how the air in my room seems fresher. This is a great product and for the price it can't be beat.If you suffer from allergies like I do you really can't put a price on any kind of relief.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works pretty well
I clean the filter every six weeks or so.It's usually dirty, but not caked on filth or anything like that.I guess the dirt that IS on there would have been floating around in the room without this air purifier, so I have to give it props for that. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Want a humidifier that not only produces a cool mist but looks coolas well? The transparent blue tank of this attractive, elliptically shapedhumidifier allows you to see remaining water at a glance. This modeldraws air through a wet wick, creating a fine mist and no floor wetness. Thewick will trap impurities from the air and water and needs replacement onceor twice per season. This unit has three settings: off, low, and high. Low issufficient for average rooms and is quieter than the spinning models, whilehigh is louder. The 1.2-gallon capacity can last up to 12 hours. Filling theremovable tank is an awkward endeavor, since it does not lie flat (it'll stayupright, but wobbles). The Natural Mist Humidifier takes up 18 inches offloor space and stands 10 inches tall. It comes with a three-year warranty.--Trilby Cohen ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Vicks (made by KAZ) Cool Mist Humidifier
I bought this recently and set it up right away. The high setting is loud for sensitive sleepers but if you need white noise to fall asleep the humidifier can double as a sleep machine. It puts out a nice cool mist on both high and low. PROS: It has a nice design -- It is a solid performer -- It is easy to fill CONS: The tank and the wick cover sometimes are easily disturbed -- it is a little clunky -- the grill on the fan cover disperses the mist mainly in one direction when it looks as if it would be omni-directional. FINAL THOUGHTS: I recommend it highly but wish the wick was cheaper to replace (around 5 bucks 2 times a year) but considering the other ones on the market it is still a good buy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Much better than the rest!
I bought this humidifier to replace the Vicks Cool Mist Humidifier. The Cool Mist was terrible - it leaked, smelled, and caused the baby's room to get wet. The Natural Mist is great - it has never leaked so far. It's so much easier to fill with water because the water container is separate. I really like having the option of the 3 different speeds. The only negative is the filter. The original filter that came with the humidifier was pretty cheap. BRU sells replacement filters that are made by KAZ that are much better quality. I still have to replace the filter every couple of months but I think it's worth it in the end.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product
We registered for this humidifier and started using it in our room when our son was first born back in November. It works great. There is no white dust and when filled completely, I think it could run for 24 hours straight (depending on the speed). There are 3 speeds to choose from and the slowest one is very quiet, however, the fastest one is pretty loud. We keep it on the middle one and it acts as a white noise machine which we don't mind. When we moved our son to his own room, we bought a cheaper $20 Vicks model and were so disappointed with it, we threw it out. It not only spit water and was noisy, it created that awful white dust that ruins mirrors and glass. This humidifier is wonderful and very easy to clean., it's worth the extra $20. We ended up buying one for our room, too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Vicks : the best cool-mist humidifier
As a stay at home mother of 4 children, ages 8 down to 3, I have had alot of experiences with humidifiers. We've had many occasions when a humidifier was necessary, and we've tried MANY different ones.
This VICKS brand humidifier is by far the easiest to fill, clean, and replace filters on. It also has 3 speeds and a turn off switch which allows for preference settings and easy -on/off; no reaching for a plug.
I would recommend this cool mist{no heat}humidifier to even adults.
This will be a must-give for baby showers, as it's a gift that can be used for YEARS!

5-0 out of 5 stars pleased consumer
I have the same humidifier, except it was called "Natural Mist" and it only had two settings (low, high), when I bought it. But otherwise, it looks exactly the same. I bought it for my son when he was only a few months old. He's now 2 years old. I think it's a great humidifier. Sure it's not that quiet when it's on high, but honestly, it's no louder than a summer fan on high. Not really loud enough to bother me or him from sleeping (I have a smaller version of one in my room). It works as a great white-noise maker. In a smaller room, it sounds louder. Again, no problem.

Sure, the filter does get mildewy every few weeks (if you run the humidifier to dry the filter out often, it can last up to a 3-4 weeks per wicking filter), but after reading reviews of many other humidifiers and humidifier brands, it seems like that's a very common problem that is not unique to this humidifier or humidifier brand.

There are of course, other much more expensive humidifiers (like the care-free ones) which require less maintenance and only once-a-year filter change, but I guess it's all a matter of how you want to spend the money; not so much at first and a lot over the course of a few years OR a lot at first and not so much over the course of a few years.

FYI, I only got one for myself recently (last month). I have to say, before I got one for myself, my son got sick less often than I do even though I'm a stay-at-home mom and he goes to a two-day-a-week nursery school, and when he does get sick, he gets over it very quickly. I bought the humidifier last month when I got strep throat that didn't heal after the first round of antibiotics. As soon as I got the humidifier, I started healing...even before I started taking my second course of antibiotics. I used to think this whole thing about humidifiers helping out with colds and respiratory infections was all in the head, but now I'm a believer. ... Read more

This top-of-the-line Cool Mist humidifier is a big step up from those old steam-spitting devices. It features a front LCD panel from which you can select the desired humidity. Simply adjust the setting to anywhere between 20 percent and 90 percent (50 percent is recommended for most situations) and set the fan to low, medium, or high. The unit is oval in shape, and because the controls are on one end, it can be operated easily even if placed in a narrow space. (It's 10 inches wide and about 17 inches deep.) The curvy, translucent gray rear tank lifts off easily for refilling, as does the front fan unit for changing or rinsing the drop-in filter. The water tank is dishwasher-safe. --Richard Farr ... 3-0 out of 5 stars I hate changing this filter
Not wanting to go through another winter with dry skin, I decided to look into purchasing a humidifier. After much research, I decided on the Hamilton Beach 05521 TrueAir Cool Mist Humidifier. I have used this humidifier for a few months now and it's hard to tell if the humidifier has helped or not.

My skin is still dry, but I don't think it is AS dry as it would have been. The humidifier runs 24/7 on quiet.

The digital readout is very nice, I can't imagine one of these without a readout. The thing is though, it almost never raises the humidity above 35-40%. I've even let it run on high all day once in awhile, and all that does is use up all the water faster. Even on quiet, I have to fill the tank twice a day. And my wife and I are getting tired of filling up the tank all the time.

The one thing that I really hate about this unit is the filter. It gets really filthy very quickly, even after turning it over every time I fill the tank like the directions say. After about 3-4 weeks it starts smelling pretty bad and needs to be changed. At ten bucks a pop, I would expect the filters to last a lot longer.

If I would have been able to try this unit out for a month before purchasing it, I would have returned it and kept looking around for something else because of the filter. I don't know if all humidifiers go through filters this fast, surely they can't all be this bad, can they?

Other than the filter, it's not a bad unit. And I would definitely recommend getting a unit with a digital readout so you can see what the humidity level is before and after you use it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Performance matches expectation
I bought this humidifier a month ago after much research. So far, it hasn't shown any mechanical trouble. The filter is holding up just fine after 4 weeks, despite daily use. Surely the quality of water in your area dictates how frequently you will need to change the filter. Nevertheless, it is recommended that you flip the filter over (to prolong it's life)when you refill the water. In my case, filter change maybe warranted no sooner than 2-3 months.

The large capacity of the water tank is good enough for 24 hour operation (on quiet setting). I use it all day night long on the low setting and it uses up about half the amount of water in the tank. At first the low setting may seem noisy especially if there is very little ambient noise around you (like when you can hear the wall clocks in your house ticking). But after a few minutes it sounds just like a dull whirring sound that is hardly objectionable. I use it in my bedroom at night and it doesn't disturb my sleep.

It is easy to see the level of water through the tinted tank. The water tank is easily removable when handled vertically. There is no leakage/spilling when you do so. There is a wide fill hole at the bottom of tank for refilling water. There are two problems though with refilling ...firstly the tank is too large to fit under the faucet in the kitchen sink, so you need a jug or hose to fill it up or use the faucet in the bathtub...secondly, the cap on the fill hole is pretty tight (the upside is that it is spill-proof) so I wouldn't recommend the unit for feeble people.

The other part of the unit, housing the motor and fan, comes off easily too. I do wish it had a latch, because you need to be careful not to knock it off when removing the water tank. When the water tank is replaced on the base tray, some water from the container fills up the tray, making a gurgling sound. It makes the same tiny gurgling sound periodically during operation too. This water in the tray is taken up gradually by the filter (which sits under the motorized fan), to generate the humidity when the fan is on.

The digital panel is easy to read. I do not however agree with the humidistat's reading. I have another humidistat in the room that I compare the reading to. The humidifier's reading is always lower, usually by 8 to 10 percent. Setting the desired level of humidity is simple although it can be done only in 5 percent increments. The unit shuts of automatically when the desired hunidity level is reached.

The base is easy to lift if the unit needs to be moved. Of course it is much more convenient to do so after removing the heavy water tank. As long as care is taken not to slant the base tray, there is no leakage or spill.

One point to consider if you are paying heating bills in the winter is that, since this IS a cool-mist himidifier, it will make the room cooler. So you may need to turn up the heat in the room a notch.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the unit's performance and recommend it to any able-bodied adult considering a cool-mist humidifier. To sum up, here are the PROS and CONS:

    1. Water tank is too large to fit under kitchen faucet
    2. Cap on fill hole is tight. Some strength required to turn it
    3. Humidistat not accurate
    4. Motor unit is not securely latched to base tray to prevent accidentally knocking it off when removing water tank.

    1. Very good performance
    2. Low operating sound on quiet setting
    3. No leakage or spilling when handled correctly
    4. Portable
    5. Dishwasher safe; Easy to clean
    6. Desired humidity level can be set manually
    7. Automatic shut-off when desired humidity reached

PRO/CON depending on whether you live in hot or cold climate: Makes the room cooler.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good product but needs some improvements
I have had this humidifier for about two months now and have found the following:

1.This humidifier works well for me. I keep it in my bedroom and only use it at night and I like the white noise that the quiet setting gives off.
    2. It does a fair job.
    3. It has a digital readout (very nice feature).
    4. It has a large water tank.
    5. It is easy to use.
    6. I have not had any mechanical problems with it.

    1. The filters have to be replaced about once a week, otherwise they get moldy and start to smell (and who wants to breathe in mold?)
    2. The filters are WAY too expensive. Amazon sells them for seven bucks and this is the cheapest I have found. This is a lot of money to shell out every week.
    3. Filters are hard to find. Not many places carry them.
    4. The cap on the water tank is VERY hard to open. It takes forever to get it off.

Bottom line, I would not purchase this humidifier again simply because I hate shelling out 28 bucks every month for filters. Even though the cap is hard to get off, it isn't impossible and its something I can live with. Maybe HB will come out with a filter that can be reused by putting it through the dishwasher or something, but until then I would not recommend purchasing this humidifier unless you have a lot of money to put into buying filters. Even though it works well, it just isn't worth it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor Design
Out of the box it looked nice but my happiness soon faded. I set it up just like the manual says. When I plugged it in and turned it on nothing happened. I noticed the fan was twitching a little bit so I turned it to "HI". The fan started moving a little and then finally worked it's way up to speed after a few seconds. I figured oh well the thing is new so it was just stuck from being new. It worked ok for a while and then I went out of the house for a couple hours. I got back and what looked like the entire contents of the reservoir had spilled onto my brand new Pergo flooring and expensive raw maple wall trim!!! I now have water under my floor, soaked through my trim and soaked under the wall and into the next room!!! I took it apart looked it over and gave it another try (on a towel in a less new room). Once again it worked well but this time I checked on it every 10 minutes. Once it was about 2/3 empty for some reason it decided to simply empty itself onto whatever it was sitting... PIECE OF CRAP!!! DO NOT BUY!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Really Impressed!
I have tried many models and I'm satisfied I got the best cool-mist fan unit available. The unit comes in 4 pieces; the large fan unit section that contains the controls, the translucent 3-gallon water container, the bottom tray that both of the previously-mentioned pieces slide upright into and a hidden water reservoir tray inside the bottom tray that's not visible from the product photograph.

As for the main unit, the humidistat works very well. Although I can't comment on someone else's concern about the humidistat not being accurate, in my experience it works very well. When I ratchet it up to a high humidity level, I get lots of moist air. After you change the setting by pressing either the UP or DOWN humidity buttons to increment the humidity level in 5% increments, the display flashes for 3 seconds after which the unit responds (either turns on or off) based on the new setting. It's quick and easy.

In addition to the UP humidity button and DOWN humidity buttons, there's a 4-point switch for OFF/QUIET/MEDIUM/HIGH. The HIGH setting is really good for humidifying multiple rooms and blasts quite a strong swirl of moisture into any room in no time at all. The QUIET setting is remarkably quiet. Although no cool mist-based fan can be SILENT, I am impressed with just how quiet this lowest setting is. I was fine with it right away, and although my wife was cautious, she took to it by the morning and has enjoyed it ever since. For hypersensitive people (like my mom) where any noise would be too much noise, I'm afraid NO cool-mist system will be sufficient. I sleep with the unit on the floor in the same room I am in, slightly below the level of our bed, and a mere 10 feet away and am very pleased with the quiet hum of the lowest setting. Underneath the fan unit resides the filter which is easy to replace and sits almost too easily into a small molded, shaped guide in the bottom tray. New filters are flattened for shipping and need to be reshaped into a cylinder before replacing them - and filters seem to last longer than I expected at 1 filter every 5-6 weeks - even after which they do not look gross, moldy or dirty.

The water container is a smart design. The fill hole is at the bottom of the 3-gallon jug, but seals tightly by way of an integrated plunger built into the wide screw-release fill cap. I haven't had ANY problems with spilling, leakage or difficulty opening the fill cap as at least one other reviewer has mentioned. Since the container faces into a humid environment, it's worthwhile to shake the container once or twice before you carry it across the room to shake any droplets of humidity away. Refills are every two days for me - but we only use this in the evening and sleeping hours, so constant usage would likely require daily refills.

Every once in while, you may hear a slight gurgle as air bubbles float up from the bottom of the container while the humidifier is in use, but this also is hardly noticeable - especially since it is usually quieter than the fan itself on the lowest setting - and flat up impossible to hear if the fan is set to medium or high. This occasional gurgling of air bubbles is infrequent and no distraction at all. Finally, the 3-gallon container is very easy to fill, but because of its depth, you will need to have either a reasonably deep basin kitchen or utility sink or fill the jug up in a bathtub. Either way, 3 gallons of water is easy to heft for an adult, but may be difficult for an elderly parent or friend (consider a smaller capacity unit if this is the case). Carrying is an easy one-handed operation thanks to the white handle built into the top of the jug itself.

The 3 non-motorized plastic pieces can be placed in a dishwasher, but you will need a dishwasher with a fairly deep main section in order for the 3-gallon jug to fit. Consider removing the upper rack (if possible) for smaller dishwashers. If all else fails, the mouth of the jug is fairly wide (5" across), so a petite hand, wrist and arm could reach inside to scrub the unit if that was ever needed (it doesn't seem to get dirty, moldy or gross in the time I've used the unit). For the one piece that cannot be put into the dishwasher, the fan unit is remarkably open with a great deal of free space for cleaning. I have never seen a unit as easy and accessible as this one. Usually I simply throw out humidifiers after a season or two since disassembling them enough to clear every nook and cranny proves not worth the effort. This is the first and only unit where that has not been a problem.

With as many great things I have to say about this unit, I have one exceptionally minor complaint: the two largest units (the water jug and the fan unit) slide too easily away from the base. This is due to the shallow crevice they sit in and the lack of a clip, latch or groove that would otherwise 'lock' the two units into place. This requires the user to slide the jug straight up when removing it for refills - otherwise, you run the risk of knocking the fan unit over and onto the floor. The up-side is that - without a lock or latch to secure these two pieces more tightly, lifting the jug for refills is a one-handed operation.

I hope this detailed description helps you decide to buy this unit. After examining and using many units, I honestly feel this is the best cool-mist, fan-based unit available - and hope these insights help you make a wise choice. ... Read more

Breathe and sleep easy with this super-quiet humidifier. This modelpurifies water and converts it into a soothing plume of vapor. The unit is shaped like a coffee maker, has a 10-by-6-inch footprint, andstands 1 foot tall. Clear blue plastic allows you to see how much waterremains in the 1.5-gallon, 20-hour tank. A variable control providesfine-tuning of mist output, and the dial on the lid allows you to direct the mist (away fromcurtains or bedding, for example). Even at a blast the sound is still barelyaudible. This tank lies flat for easy filling, butmight be a bit hard to reach into for cleaning. Still, the replaceablefilter strains impurities out of the water, leaving the air clean. Pop open the lid--on this cartridge you'll find a phone number for ordering replacements.--Trilby Cohen ... The replacement filters aren't available which really is a problem. The machine is great when it is new but. . . The lack of a turn-off when empty is another thing that should be fixed but I can work around that. What can I do about the non-availability of filters?

5-0 out of 5 stars 2 Years and still going!!
We've been using the humidifier for 2 years now (on the same cartridge) and it's still going strong! This is our first humidifier so I don't have anything to compare it to, but my friend had one (don't know the brand) with a nightlight on it and it barely put out any moisture when her son had croup.I ran this one over and she fell in love with it and bought one the next day!Yes, there is a smell in the room after a night of being used with the door closed, but I just assumed it was from the dampness. All in all, I love my humidifier!

4-0 out of 5 stars Works Just Fine
I have been through so many humidifiers trying to find a good one. This one did some of the stuff that others have complained about.I took all the flitering junk out of it and it works just fine... no stink...just a fine mist.I turn it on a somewhat low output as I am using it for one room only.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good cool mist but too much upkeep; doesn't turn itself off
Good output of cool mist, but daily upkeep, filter changes, is a pain. It gets stinky if you don't change the filter frequently. Also, the instructions say not to leave the unit running while empty--so why didn't the manufacturer make it shut off automatically, as other models do??? Overall, I prefer the Honeywell warm mist humidifiers with built in humidistat--easier to maintain, auto shut off.

2-0 out of 5 stars humidifier works well however the smell is awful
The humidifier works well, it's very quiet.I bought this last year and when I took it out this winter to use it, the smell was profoundly disgusting!I can't find a replacement filter either in case that's what is causing it.I can't use it with the awful smell. ... Read more

    4-0 out of 5 stars It's just a fan
I don't know, maybe it's just me, but the other reviews on this item made it sound like this fan was some miraculous new advance in electric fan technology. I bought it, and I'm satisfied with my purchase, but so far it hasn't radically changed my life and I'm not in any hurry to tell all my friends to go out and buy 10 of them. It's a fan. You turn it on, it blows air. It doesn't seem to blow air any further than any other fan I've had. It works fine in my average-sized bedroom. It is pretty quiet and is small, two features I like. I think I'd like it a little more if it had the ability to oscillate back and forth.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Power in a Small Package
You cannot find a more powerfull fan in such a small package. It has stepless speed control. At the highest speed it blasts as much air as a massive box fan on high except it does it in a higher velocity compact stream of air. It is amazing how this stream stays together over a long distance without much divergance. This meant I could use it to channel air directly into my bedroom 25 feet and two rooms away from my single window unit airconditioner. It is somewhat noisy at its highest speed because of that massive volume of air being moved. At its lowest speed it gives a nice breeze and is very quiet.

5-0 out of 5 stars All Hail the Tiny Tornado!
This little "air circulator" is to fans what the Bose Wave Radio is to stereo systems: you simply can't believe the amount of output coming from such a compact source. It seems to transcend physical reality. As a drummer in a doo wop band, I have used one of these "Tiny Tornados" onstage for a number of years now, and nothing else comes close when it comes to blowing a strong, quiet stream of air to keep me cool. Other musicians interested in using the fan for this purpose will be pleased to hear that the little Vornado has NEVER given off any hum or unwanted electrical noises that showed up in a sound system, despite the constant suspicions of band members and sound technicians alike. I don't know what to make of the one other customer who was disappointed by this fan, unless he accidentally bought an inferior copycat version -- there are some around -- made by another company. Simply the best little fan in the world!

4-0 out of 5 stars This is a keeper, but just one caveat...
I bought this fan because I wanted something to run during the night at low speed that would not make the noise my hardy old box fan does.

And it is perfect for that purpose, creating just the right breeze that will keep you cool, without disturbing.

So I agree with everything else that has been written about this.

I will just say that there is one thing this little guy cannot do, which is draw in cool air from outside when you place it at the window. Nothing beats your $10 box fan in that.

WIth one of each, you're just about covered...

    5-0 out of 5 stars Fan-myster! Faboulous
I will never forget the summer of 1986, wife pregnant and the central air zonked out. I ran to the nearest large store to grab a fan and actually i was going to grab any fan. I was walking down the fan isle when i noticed 3 to 4 people grouped in front of this small looking yet powerful fan. They were laughing and feeling good. It obviously made everyone cooler. I noted the blades were quite different allowing them to circulate air at a awsome speed. The output shocked and amazed me. I got lucky and grabbed the last one and headed home. Please dont take my word for it just go see a demo. Mine is still working great to this day.My son Peter enjoys it as much as we do! This fan is a winner in all ways. Thanks for listening to Bill ... Read more

With active carbon filtration that helps remove odors and true HEPA filtration that traps particles as small as .3 microns, this air purification system reduces airborne impurities and is ideal for those who are sensitive to dust, allergens, pollen, and other impurities. The unit's clean mode emits positive and negative ions into the air via plasmacluster technology, while its ion-control mode emits additional negative ions, which is something nature does near waterfalls or just after a thunderstorm. The air purifier is recommended for rooms up to 129 square feet and has a CADR rating for dust 96, smoke 83, and pollen 94. When the air purifier detects odors and chemicals, it will automatically pick the fan speed that will help eliminate the odor. Manually, there are three fan speeds to chose from: silent, low, and high, as well as pollen mode. The unit features a convenient timer that can be set for one, four, or eight hours, and a full-function remote control and operation manual are included. 5-0 out of 5 stars If you have an HDTV, you need this camcorder!!!!
This is the first camcorder I have ever used that looks good on an HDTV. No... Let me correct that. It looks great!!!

Have you ever wondered why a normal camcorder looks so bad on an HDTV? It's because an HDTV is very high resolution. When you connect a traditional camcorder (even a Mini DV), the TV sees a much smaller, comparatively low resolution picture and must scale it (digitally enlarge it) to fit the screen. It doesn't matter if you have a $400 low end cam or a $4000 high end cam... Scaling the picture on virtually any HDTV will ruin your camcorder picture.

JVC solved this on the GR-HD1 with the world's first consumer HD camcorder. Basically, it's the first consumer camcorder ever that makes a picture which correctly fits a widescreen HDTV. It records a picture with 720 x 1280 dots, compared with 480 x 720 dots for a normal camcorder.

The result? The detail & resolution is simply phennominal! The colors look great! The video is much more appealing to watch in widescreen because it more closely matches your natural field of vision.

The only thing you need to be careful of is the frame rate. This shoots 720/30P. What that means is it takes video at 30 frames per second. As a result, if the camera uses too fast of a shutter speed you may see a "jitter" in things that move on-screen. The fix is really easy: Simply take the camcorder out of the "auto" mode and lock in a 1/30th of a second shutter speed. This eliminates the vast majority of the jitter. What you are left with is a superb high resolution video with a subtle "film-like" quality.

You don't have to be Stephen Speilberg to appreciate this. This is the ideal camcorder for any type of family video. Think about the great stuff happening today that you'll want to be able to watch 10-20 years from now, and still be happy with the quality.

If you own an HDTV, no other camcorder else even comes close! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Medical centres choice!
I pretty much bought this Plasma Purifier without hesitation for my new born baby nephew in Hong Kong, after hearing that some medical centres there have been using it as well. With the bad air pollution there and caring about the air he's going to be breathing in, I feel there is no better choice.

I personally have the much advertised Ionic breeze, and don't think it realy helps that much, although I still keep it on. Don't worry about changing the filter either, 5years is a very long time and putting one in is a breeze.

5-0 out of 5 stars SIMPLY AWESOME
I have severe allergies and have tried all of the air purifiers on the market with no luck. I decided to plunk down the $$ for this unit and kept my fingers crossed for any improvement with my allergies. Well, this is THE UNIT and I actually feel better. ... Read more

Honeywell's largest QuietCare model, this portable air cleaneris recommended for filtering the air in a closed room as large as 285square feet (15 by 19 feet). As it continuously circulates a room'sair--about six times per hour--it employs two filters to remove smoke, pollen, dust, animal dander, dust mites, molds, bacteria, viruses, andodors. Especially useful for asthmatics and allergy sufferers, thecleaner contains a true HEPA filter that is at least 99.97 percenteffective at trapping extremely tiny particles (as small as 0.3microns) while a prefilter reduces odors. Honeywell's IntelliChecksystem permits monitoring of the filters' lives. The HEPA filter lastsone to three years; the prefilter, 3 months. Filter replacement issimple, and replacement filters can be ordered separately. The aircleaner has three speeds, and all are exceptionally quiet for a aircleaner this large and powerful. The cleaner measures 13-3/4 incheswide, 18-3/4 inches high, and 17 inches in deep and carries a five-yearwarranty against defects. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Whisper Quiet HEPA Filtered Air Cleaner
As someone who is highly allergic to cigarette smoke and other air pollutants and irritants, I purchased a round Honeywell HEPA air filter when it first came on the market several years ago. It still works well in the living room, but it is quite noisy even on its lowest setting.

Recently, I decided to purchase another air cleaner with a HEPA filter for my bedroom because I had contacted bacterial pneumonia last year and wanted to make sure I did not get it again.

This air cleaner really works! This winter I have not had a cold or flu. Also, this Honeywell Air Cleaner with HEPA filter is whisper soft, and I have had no problem sleeping when it is running on the low and medium settings. I leave it on all the time, and I've found that it works best when the door is closed.

It has a convenient handle on the top, so I can move it to another room quite easily. The prefilters last about 3-6 months, (and they can be vacuumed if you have pets who shed). I change my HEPA filter every year, but you can wait 3 years to do so. These filters are easy to change.

Highly recommended for anyone who has pets, who lives with or entertains people who smoke, and who is allergic to dust, molds, or pollens.

4-0 out of 5 stars Accept no Substitutes
I'm allergic to just about everything. Let's put it this way, when I got my tests back from the Allergist I *wasn't* allergic to feathers. That was it, everything else came back positive. I'm allergic to dust, mold, grass, trees, pet dander, ... the list could go on, but I think you get the point.

I bought this product for use in the master bedroom ( roughly 17' x 20' in size), to clean out the allergens. Since it was going in the bedroom, I was very concerned about the noise. This has not been an issue. It runs continuously on the low setting and it really is quite. Most people don't even notice it.

Again, running continuously on the low setting, I've found the pre-filters need changing about every 2 to 3 months and the HEPA filter is just now indicating it needs changing after about 15 months. I think this seems a reasonable amount of time for the filters to last.

Changing the filters, however, is my one and only complaint. Did I mention I was allergic to dust? Opening the cleaner to change filters -- especially changing the pre-filter -- is not easy to do without getting dust all over yourself and in the air. Even though I change the filters as soon as the light indicates, there is a lot of dust not firmly trapped in the filter. When you remove the velcro straps holding the pre-filter in place, the dust gets airborne and gets on you..

That being said, it does seem to have made my bedroom a much more pleasant place to live. I've noticed that during the spring and fall pollen seasons that I'm sleeping better at night. I attribute that to the good job the air filter is doing. There may be cheaper air cleaners on the market, but why settle for a substitute? After a year of using it, I'm convinced it was worth every cent I paid for it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible product - stay away!!
This unit only worked for about 6 weeks, then wouldn't turn on anymore. I'm very disappointed - I paid near two hundred and was unable to return it...what a complete waste!! I would have given no stars if I could have!

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this model. Honeywell screwed up!
I bought this air cleaner in March of 03 and was pleased with the thing until it just stopped working in January 04. There was no indication that anything was amiss, I was changing the pre-filters on the recommended schedule and then one morning nothing; no lights, no sound, no activity. Am sending it back to Honeywell (on my nickel according to their warranty policy). We will see how long the replacement lasts. I have read several reviews here that don't give me much hope. Amazon was nice, said I needed to contact Honeywell directly but suggested I post a review.

5-0 out of 5 stars This thing is terrific!
I have a 100 year old house - by that I mean I have lots and lots of dust problems. I also have 3 cats, 3 hamsters and a guinea pig (as well as fish!) And I smoke, way too much. I got this air cleaner a week ago and the setup was terribly simple.

I leave it on the low setting because I found medium and high to be too loud, but low is working just fine in my 17x16 open room. (There's an open stairwell in the room.) This thing sucks my smoke towards it from 10 feet away, and I dusted the day I got it and haven't had to since, which is truly amazing for my house. I'm breathing better as well!

I highly recommend this product to everyone. In fact, I'm going to buy a couple of smaller Honeywell's for my bedroom and bathroom (cat litterbox in there.) ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars OK fan
I bought 2 of these and expected them to be quiet but I am dissapointed with the high speed, its loud. I put one in my kid's room to help circulate the air but the fan's high speed is loud and it scares my 3 years old son. The mid speed noise is ok but does not blow. One of the fan has a clicking sound during the oscillation, the other is not.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I have a small room, and needed a quiet tower fan with good functionality. I bought the Envircare EFY041 not really knowing how good it will be.It fit snugly in one corner. I received it (Free shipping -2days after ordering-AMAZON ROCKS!) and I set it up in less than 10 minutes. The remote is small and functional and very handy. The 3 speed settings help, and compared to other fans ,even the fastest speed isnt loud enough to dim the music or anything. Oscillation is good, makes a VERY SLIGHT creaking noise(maybe its just mine!) , though not loud enough 2 bother anyone.
On the whole, it is a bit pricey , but compared to monster fans which are loud enough to keep the entire neighbourhood awake, I highly recommend this.
Oh, the air filtration is a nice added feature, but be sure 2 clean the filter periodically!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Tower Fan
I'm so happy with it I just purchased another one.I did try multiple other brands but nothing compares to this quiet, solid beauty.I tried much more expensive fans that were noisier and poorly constructed.Trust me - this is a great fan, and it even has an air filter. It has all the features (3 speeds, a gusting wind/sleep setting, rotation and timer). The remote has a built-in flashlight which is great in the middle of the night.Love it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great product with great tech support back-up.
Let me try to make a long story short.

I bought a Dazzle Firewire card with Ulead software so that I could capture video. I didn't work when I got it and I never got it to work in spite of multiple attempts. Dazzle Techs said it was Ulead's fault and Ulead said it was Dazzle's. Neither company tried to help me out.

I bought the adaptec combo card, hoping that it would work.
I installed it and the accompanying software. It didn't work.
I called Canon. They helped me by sending me to Microsoft for
a plug-in. The card still didn't work. I just about gave up but decided to call Adaptec for help.

It was a toll call but the Adaptec Tech walked me through the
entire process of getting the card working. I'd guess that he spend a good 45 mintues with me as we checked my system out and straightened out all the problems that the Dazzle card and drivers left in my system. I am a business owner so I know exactly how important good customer care is. You can have the best product in the world but if you don't care about your customers, you're business is going to eventually fail.

Adaptec makes a great product AND they have one of the very best Tech Support teams that I have ever dealt with to back the product.

    Buy This One !

    5-0 out of 5 stars Great all-in-one.
I installed this into a Windows 2000 machine and it works flawlessly. It didn't require the installation of any extra drivers--Windows already had all that was required. The card has everything I need for my high-bandwidth requiring devices. It even has internal ports so I can plug the Firewire port on the front of my computer into it. Highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great
I bought this Adaptec AUA-3020 for use in my Dell Dimension 8200 (P4 2Ghz) with Windows XP Pro SP1. My computer originally doesnot have firewire and USB2.0 (it has 4 USB1 though). All 5 PCI slots were full with VGA, Ethernet, Sound, Promise Ultra ATA133 (for my additional HDs), and Firewire from Pinnaclesys. I was a little skeptical to use this product when I read other reviewers that has the same system (tony8gj from Redmond, WA). The only difference is he bought 3121 with internal USB and firewire while I bought 3020 without the internal ones. After I received the package, I read the instruction which is fairly easy and straightforward. I turn off the computer and all cables, took off my Pinnaclesys firewire and replace with this Adaptec 3020. Put all the cables back to where they were, (I didnot plug anything yet to the new Adaptec) and start the comp. Windows XP shows "Found new hardware" and rearrange them (I rearranged my USB1.1). Then I see that XP found this Adaptec but it says Texas Instrument for the firewire host controller (I guess the chip made by TI), and so on. It went smooth. Then I put the USB/firewire cables to this new Adaptec ports. All my devices were recognized fast and ready to use. I tested all my devices and they are all fine. Just make sure, before installing this and any other hardware, to check and update your flash BIOS from your computer manufacturer and also your Windows operating system from Five big stars!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant product even on old P3 450Mhz
The only irony like the two previous users mentioned, is that there r some inconsistencies with the software drivers. I realized the system becoming slightly slower in performance (but then again these peripherals were optimized for the new P4 etc.) I use it daily especially with external hard drives and Bluetooth and printers and numerous devices.

I am fiddling now with video feeds via the firewire. Am sure it will be flawless. If anyone is considering a good upgrade to older machines, then get this card! (after a memory upgrade this would b the most sensible upgrade one can do)

1-0 out of 5 stars Didn't work for me- Orange Micro Works Better
I spent a couple of hours trying to install this. It kept causing windows to CRASH and my system would reboot. Read the manuel, and went to the website.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Mighty Wind!
...This little fan lives up to it's reputation. My husband is one of those types who has to have a fan circulating air all year long in our stuffy bedroom - (even in the winter & we live in Wisconsin!) & the Vornado 610W does the job beautifully. The lowest setting is quiet and comfortable on all but the hottest of eves, when the medium speed, coupled with our air conditioner, works just fine. The best part is that you don't have to have it blowing right on you to feel the effects -- the air in the whole room circulates very efficiently. Well worth the money & if you are short on space, this unit fits just about anywhere - floor, table, or window ledge.

5-0 out of 5 stars ACTUALLY DOES WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO!
We have a 65 year-old home with poor circulation in the 2 upstairs bedrooms; they're always 5 degrees warmer in the summer and 5 degrees colder in the winter than the rest of the house. A heating and cooling company was going to charge almost $1,000 to put booster fans in the ductwork. Out of desperation (and I'm a cheapskate also) I bought 2 of these 610W Vornados, and placed them over the floor ducts, and Viola', it fixed the problem (3 degrees better, anyways).
My Mom has had the 500 series fan for about 10 years, but it doesn't circulate nearly as much air, and the bearings don't have a lifetime guarantee like the 610W, and, sure enough, they finally failed this past summer... So the 610W is well worth the extra $15 or $20 bucks to get better airflow and lifetime bearings.
Our rooms are 12' x 12', and this fan does a great job; I suspect that, if you have a larger room, the 750 series would do a better job than this one.
Another side benefit of the 610W is just enough background hum with the fan running (24/7 in our home)to block out the constant traffic noise from the major highway we live off of: the kids sleep much better now. This is truly a great product!

5-0 out of 5 stars Small & Powerful
I love this light weight, powerful little fan! The first time I turned it on, I had my face square in front of it and it literally took my breath away! It does a fantastic job of circulating the air and cooling the room(s). I also like the fact that it is light weight enough to easily move and small enough to fit just about anywhere. Very definitely a good buy!

4-0 out of 5 stars Keeps me cool
Its pricy yes, but it keeps me cool whenever I need to be cool. And I am not a small guy either. It will keep you cool, its quiet, and doesn't get overheated (if you touch a box fan in the back you will burn your hand...if you don't believe me...try it). I used it in college and now I am using it at home and it provided great circulation in both places. How versatile! Great fan but didn't give it a five because of the price but if you don't mind the price, a must buy!

2-0 out of 5 stars Fan - low air flow for the high cost
I am using this fan for about a month. True it is quite, tilt-able and small but it also lacks the ability to create a strong airflow for the high cost. I bought this fan when my 5yr old box fan, cost about $15, stopped running. The box fan created at least 2x the airflow for much less cost. The reviews give an impression that this fan produces a strong airflow - not in my estimation. ... Read more
