5-0 out of 5 stars Yamaha takes the cake
I have been useing this reciver for about 2 weeks now and i am plesantly suprized in its quality and ablity to push sound. I am an audio buff, everything has to be perfect. I run 2 sony mains both containing 2 10"subwoofers, a 4"main, and a tweet... they are 8ohm and run at 200watt max. The Yamaha is prefect for them! I have a total of 5 10"subs now and when i run movies like Twister I get such pounding bass that my father thinks lightning has struck the house! For my center and surround speakers I run boston acoustics, they are 100watt max all running 5"mains with tweeters. The ablity of the reciver to push sound to all 5 speakers with a loud volume is amazing. I ran a test CD after i finally got the thing tuned like i liked it and found absoultly no holes in the range, from 10 to 20,000 hertz you will hear a clean clear drive with no power loss. The pop and crackle from my old reciver is completely gone!

4-0 out of 5 stars Quality Sound
Replaced my 100 Watt Kenwood Surround receiver with the Yamaha HTR-5540 receiver, and what a difference. The quality of the sound is incredible. This unit offers a optical input from my DVD player which really boosts power and quality. This unit has as much power as my 100 Watt Kenwood. I consider this an UPGRADE from the Kenwood. The sound options are numerous and the installation was a snap.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow!
I wanted to replace my 2 year old Sony STR545 receiver for my home theater / stereo system and thought the price was good on the Yamaha 5540. I was stunned at how much of an improvement in sound quality and quantity the Yamaha made. The sound is so much fuller and substantial when playing both the dvds and cds. It's an extremely up to date receiver with Dolby Prologic II and Digital 6.1. I have both SACD and DVD-Audio so I wanted a receiver with the analog jacks which it does have. As others have said don't let the 75 watts listed concern you as the sound is much, much stronger and louder than my old 100 watt Sony ever was. I love this little baby!

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent under $500 receiver
Brand new 2002 model. Clean, Crisp, sound. Just look at all the reviews of Yamaha receivers...most all of them are rated from 4.3 to 5.0. Impressive. This model is all of the above and more. Wanted the HTR 5560 but thought I don't really need all those "bells and whistles". Just wanted a excellent receiver that will give me the decoding plus enough extras to choose from. I don't need a 1,000 settings just enough for me to enjoy the movies...remember speakers make the system.

Strengths:

Clean, crisp, sound. Very polish. phantom rear center a plus without adding that extra rear channel.

Weaknesses:
Limited input/output in the back. All you need are the audio input/output. All video are directly to the T.V. (best connections are always directly to the T.V. anyways...if you want switching buy the HTR 5560. You'll pay extra though. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Now it's my favorite!
Replaced a Denon 3200 with the Yamaha, and immediately noticed a substantial difference in bass output and channel seperation. It also blows the Denon away with DTS and DD listening options. I have an Onkyo, 2 Denon's, and the Yamaha (OK, I'm a Home Theater Junkie! ), and the Yamaha is now my favorite, and it wasn't the most expensive! My wife says that music sounds much better with the Yamaha than with the Denon it replaced. Definitely a 5-star receiver.

5-0 out of 5 stars Yamaha RX-V995 Is Super
This is such a feature-ladened high quality Dolby Digital Receiver that is blows the others away! My last receiver was a Denon, but I will tell you that this is heads and tales above the Denon. This Yamaha receiver is able to accurately reproduce the Dolby 5.1 format in all of its glory fully enabling the expressive power of Dolby Digital!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Value
This receiver is packed with quality sound and real punch! You will listen to incredible realism in the 5.1 channel configuration. Couple this bad boy with a DVD some Klipch Speakers, a good TV, Top Gun and your "good to go" Mav! A great buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars NATURAL CLEAN SOUND
FOR YEARS I HAVE HAD MY EYE ON YAMAHA RECIEVERS, WHY BECAUSE IN THE 70,S, I WAS INFORMED THAT YAMAHA ENGINEERS ACTUALLY WENT TO SEVERAL LOCATIONS, AND TOOK SOUND READINGS FROM CONCERT HALLS, JAZZ CLUBS, CHURCHES,DISCO CLUBS, ETC, AND THEN TRANSFERED THIS INFO ONTO COMPUTER CHIPS, AND INSTALLED IT IN THEIR RECIEVERS. JUST RECENTLY I PURCHASED THE RX-V995, I AM USING IT WITH 2-MAIN JBL,S, POLK AUDIO CENTER AND REAR SURROUNDS RT-35, AND VELODYNE SUBWOOFER 12". AND MAN LET ME TELL YOU THAT SOUND IS SO REAL, SO CLEAN AND NATURAL IT PUTS YOU RIGHT THERE. IT HAS SEVERAL MOVIE CHANNEL SETTINGS, EVEN ONE FOR OLD CLASSICS, AND THE SURROUND SOUND, HEY ITS AWSOME.AT THIS TIME I AM STILL REVIEWING THE 60 SOME PAGE MANUAL THAT CAME WITH IT, THERE ARE MANY FEATURES THAT I HAVEN'T EVEN LEARNED TO USE YET, BUT THE UNIT IS SO FLEXIBLE YOU CAN DOWNLOAD YOUR OTHER REMOTE CONTROLS INTO IT,AND USE JUST THE ONE. YOU CAN ALSO ADJUST YOUR SPEAKER LEVELS TO ACCOMODATE YOUR PLAY BACK MODE, YOUR IN FOR A REAL TREAT WHEN YOU PUT ON A CLASSICAL CD AND USE THE CONCERT HALL SETTING. THERE ARE MANY AUDIO RECEIVERS ON THE MARKET, BUT IF YOU WANT THAT NATURAL CLEAR SOUND THEN I ADVISE YOU TO CONSIDER ONE OF THE YAMAHA NATURAL SOUND RECEIVERS, YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED, YOUR SOUND WILL BE AS REFRESHING AS GLASS OF COOL SRING WATER ON A HOT, MUGGY, SWEATY DAY. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars not bad...not bad
So, I bought this for my lap top, and not knowing much about burners I kind of had to guess which to get.

Let's start with the bad then end of with the good:
1. Yamaha never sent me the rebate that was advertised with the burner. So, it makes this burner a little more pricey than others
2. The burning software is a little bit buggy and often does an illegal operation and shuts down. however, it hasn't really affected it too much because it usually does the error when you are shutting it down anyway.
3. I often lose sound on my regular cd drive when playing discs and on the hard drive when playing music. but that could be my own computer's fault.
4. I bought the drive thinking i could use it with headphones since it's portable. well, you need an outlet to get power, so it's not something you can use to run off of batteries. I also thought it could store MP3's, which it doesn't, but that's pretty much my own ignorance when it comes to these things.

Ok, so the good things:

1. it was really easy to install
2. it records music very quickly
3. the sound quality is good
4. you can plug it into a receiver and play CD's that way without having to buy a separate cd player for your stereo.

well, anyway, I hope this helps!

4-0 out of 5 stars Make sure you have usb 2.0 for 24x speed, or it will be 6x !
A wonderful cool looking device that immediately worked under Linux. Only problem: Most computers (such as my notebook purchased last year) do not have a usb 2.0 port. The drive also works with the old usb 1.1, but will only run at a speed of 6x instead of 24x.

So you will have to buy a usb 2.0 port card in addition to this drive. Apart from that it would be 5 out of 5 stars:

The buffer-underrun-protection works wonderfully, and that it can play mp3 cds without the computer being connected is just another plus.

Linux 2.4.19 will have usb 2.0 drivers included, they are already in the 2.4.19pre3 code.

Michael
PS: Windows XP worked also, but Linux is just better ;-)

4-0 out of 5 stars I'd buy it immediately IF
they trim/slim considerably that brick the R&D Yamaha people call a power supply!
What were they thinking?

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid, convenient, winXP compatible, & advanced features
I've been using the product for six weeks and I have been very happy with it, even though I normally buy nothing but Plextors. I have winXP on my hp notebook, and after plugging the drive in to the usb port using the included high-quality cable, the drive was recognized and installed immediately.

Audio burning allows cd-text, overburning (necessary for using 90 minute cdr's), and other features only found on high end burners, but extremely useful.

I was pleased to find an enclosed card for a mail-in free pci usb 2.0 card (faster than firewire) or a discounted pcmcia usb 2.0 card (with 4 ports!). The requirements are technically different from the mail-in rebate, so you apparently don't have to choose between the two. Unfortunately, though a UPC "photocopy" is listed as acceptable for the mail-in rebate, I received a postcard that my rebate had been rejected because an "original" barcode was not sent to them. So in reality you have to choose between the usb 2.0 card and the rebate, due to false advertising.

So far, I've had no bad burns or dae flaws.

The bundled Nero software is good for advanced hobbyists but impossibly complicated for newbies. Nero is fully XP compatible, and it is the only major burning software suite to support overburning for 90 minute cdrs. But it has a complicated, unintuitive interface. If you do NOT use winXP, and you've never done cd burning before, you're better off buying a retail version of Roxio Easy Cd Creator to go with the Spyder. (Free bundled versions of Easy Cd Creator lack the jewel case cover creator anyway, so it's just as well Yamaha went with Nero.)
The ac adaptor is rather large for carrying around, so this isn't everyday portable, but it's portable enough for me to stick into USB ports on my family's computers and back up their date conveniently for them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Spyder an awesome drive
The Spyder is a truly awesome drive. It is pretty much compatible with almost anything and every type of computer. The Spyder is very small, and can burn CD's in 6 minutes. It also comes with great software, and it's so easy that you'll be up and ready to burn CDs in about 5 minutes. Give the Spyder a shot! ... Read more

Asin: B0001XAJDE

Sales Rank: 14234

Amazon.com Product Description

Enjoy high-quality video and multichannel surround audio with Yamaha's stylish silver YHT-550 all-in-one home theater. The system consists of Yamaha's DVS-5650 progressive-scan DVD player, the 5-piece NS-AP2500 speaker ensemble, the YST-SW010 subwoofer, plus Yamaha's HTR-5730 home theater receiver, which pumps 100 watts per channel x 6 discrete channels and offers a host of options for rendering the type of surround sound best suited to your taste or programming.

The powerful HTR-5730 receiver accepts the DVD player's Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, and DTS 5.1-channel surround signals and routes each channel to its designated speaker. Additionally, the receiver's Silent Cinema and Night Listening modes enhance headphone and low-level listening, respectively, while Yamaha's 32-bit Cinema-DSP processing gives you an additional 24 surround effects to enhance your movies and music. The receiver offers a total of 4 A/V inputs. The tuner section offers 40-station AM/FM preset tuning.

Yamaha's single-disc DVS-5650 spins DVD-Video, VCD, SVCD, CD-R/CD-RW, DVD+R/+RW, DVD-R/-RW, MP3 CD, and JPEG image CDs (including mixed-mode MP3/JPEG CDs), putting a range of audio and video media at your disposal. The player features both interlaced (for standard TVs) and progressive-scan component-video outputs (for use with compatible HD or HD-ready TVs). Other features include picture zoom, shuffle play, repeat play, and parental controls (disc lock and password protection).

The 6-speaker complement includes the 5-speaker NS-AP2500 for the front, center, and surround speakers and Yamaha's YST-SW010 subwoofer for deep bass, which is important for effective home theater sound. Each speaker in the NS-AP2500 ensemble uses a sealed, acoustic-suspension design with a 3-inch woofer and a .5-inch soft-dome tweeter. The center speaker houses dual 2.5-inch drivers for broader dispersion of midrange frequencies--critical for clarity of dialogue and other center-channel information.

The 100-watt, 6.5-inch subwoofer uses Yamaha's patented Advanced Active Servo Technology (Advanced YST), which generates incredible bass from its small enclosure. Advanced YST uses negative-impedance feedback in the amp and a Helmholtz resonator in the speaker to provide strong and accurate bass.

QD-Bass (Quatre Dispersion Bass) technology uses a down-firing driver with square, pyramid-shaped reflective plates to radiate sound with equal effectiveness in all directions. The sub's individual volume control permits the perfect matching of the sub's output to the overall volume of the system. The sub has a signal-sensing circuit, too. When it detects an audio signal, it powers right up. When it senses no signal for several minutes, it shuts itself off.

All speakers included with the YHT-550 feature magnetic shielding, so they can be placed near a TV or monitor and cause no picture degradation.

Amazon.com Product Description

Bringing ease of use, broad format compatibility, and high sound quality to forward-looking home theaters, Yamaha's HTR-5750SL audio/video receiver offers the convenience of DVD-Audio/SACD-ready analog inputs alongside the latest 6.1-channel surround processing and premium Yamaha sound technologies. The receiver's stylish silver appearance will augment many decors.

When hooked up with the digital-audio output from a DVD-Video player or digital satellite receiver, the 90-watts-per-channel HTR-5750SL handles 5.1-channel surround decoding for both major formats, Dolby Digital and DTS. In addition, the receiver processes Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, DTS Neo:6, DTS-ES Matrix 6.1, and DTS-EX Discrete 6.1. The extended-surround formats create even more expansive soundfields through a center-rear channel, resulting in six discrete, full-range signals in addition to the LFE (low-frequency effects) channel: front left/right, surround left/right, and front/rear center channels.

A key benefit from a Yamaha receiver, of course, is Yamaha's proprietary signal processing, including Cinema DSP (digital soundfield processing), which creates aural "imaging" that not only makes your home sound like a theater, but also sounds better than most movie theaters. Based on a wealth of measured data in real studios and halls, Cinema DSP is designed to bring out the full potential of movie sound mixes, reproducing them the way directors and sound engineers intended.

Non-Dolby Digital and DTS sources can benefit from surround processing, too. With enhanced directional steering over standard four-channel Dolby Pro Logic, Dolby Pro Logic II provides 5.1 channels of surround processing from any stereo source--whether that's a TV broadcast, VHS tapes, or your favorite CDs, cassettes, and LPs.

And, when you're listening to multichannel presentations late at night, you'll appreciate Silent Cinema, which simulates 5.1-channel listening through a pair of ordinary 2-channel headphones (not included). Silent Cinema uses unique parameters for each soundfield to ensure accurate headphone representations of each soundfield.

Then there's the six-channel DVD-Audio/SACD-ready inputs mentioned above. Due to anti-piracy measures, DVD-Audio and SACD players perform their own digital-to-analog conversion, passing high-resolution analog signals on to your amplifier. (And analog, after all, is what your amp feeds your speakers.)

DVD-Audio and SACD can each deliver up to six channels of discrete, full-frequency sound at greater-than-CD resolution (in the case of DVD-A, that means 24 bits, 96 kHz sampling rate versus 16 bits, 44.1 kHz for CD). In stereo or surround, the sound from DVD-Audio and SACD is packed with detail, yet smoother and sweeter from than the sound from even the best standard CD players. The HTR-5750SL accommodates decoded DVD-A/SACD signals and routes them to the appropriate speakers in your surround system.

The receiver offers four audio/video input connections (all with composite-/S-video, two with component-video), four fixed and assignable digital-audio inputs (great for DSS, CD, laserdisc, gaming consoles, or minidisc), and front-panel input connections for your camcorder or other spontaneous hookup. The receiver's video circuitry is high-definition ready, too (60 MHz bandwidth), and it will upconvert composite-video to an S-video signal to simplify TV hookup.

Last, but certainly not least, the HTR-5750SL benefits from Yamaha's Digital ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) build philosophy. The culmination of the best digital engineering and design possible, it brings together several key elements to create the best-sounding, easiest-to-use A/V components available.

Receiver, remote control, four AAA batteries, an AM loop antenna, an indoor FM antenna, a warranty card, and a user's manual. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for daily use!
This recorder (I've been using one for a week) does what it was meant to do, but could have more memory. It's perfect for daily use of an ordinary person. It's pratical and becomes essential when you get used to it! And with no doubt I'd say it's a nice recorder to be bought!! Especially because of its very low price.

Amazon.com Review

The DGX200AD is a large and full-featured keyboard. It has 76 keys (only 12 less than a real piano), and large speakers on either side, making for an instrument over 46 inches long, yet weighing less than 20 pounds. The 76 keys make for a much wider range of pitches than the more common 61-note keyboards, and the larger speakers provide a much richer, fuller sound quality. The DGX200AD appears to be the larger version of the Yamaha PSR290AD; the functionality is almost exactly the same. There are so many functions on this keyboard, in fact, that everyone from the novice musician up through the professional will find something to enjoy. If you are interested in something smaller but with the same functionality, you might consider the PSR290AD. This keyboard is powered by either the included AC adapter or six D batteries. If you intend to travel with the keyboard, you may want to consider using the batteries, as the adapter is rather large and heavy.

The DGX200AD has 605 voices, including western and world instruments, fun sound effects such as car engines, drum kits, and five DJ kits. Navigation through all the voices is easy using up and down buttons, a wheel, or a numeric keypad. The voices have also been organized into instrument categories; up and down category buttons allow for quick movement from one to another. Extra programmable enhancements such as reverb and chorus can be applied to the voices as well.

The DGX200AD includes an auto accompaniment feature, allowing the user to play a melody and perhaps one note in the bass while the keyboard plays the rhythm instruments and the proper chords. This is a great tool for practicing improvisation! There is also a chord dictionary; while a bit tricky to use at first, it is ultimately a nice tool for learning the many different variations of chords. In addition, built-in music lessons allow a student to learn to play a song by first practicing the rhythms, and then slowly adding the correct pitches.

The more advanced musician will have fun and powerful tools at her or his disposal. The built-in sequencer allows the composer to record up to five songs on six tracks. If that is not enough power, simply connect the DGX200AD to a PC or Macintosh computer and use it with a software sequencer. Software available for download from Yamaha's PKCLUB Web site allows the user to store MIDI files from the computer in the flash memory of the DGX200AD.

The DGX200AD has a big size, a big sound, and a big arsenal of functions for all users. --Chris FresolonePros:

  • 605 useful instrument voices
  • 76 keys for versatile keyboard playing
  • General MIDI compatible
  • Great-sounding speakers
  • Caters itself to musicians of all levels
  • Lightweight for its size
Cons:
  • Initial intimidating interface
  • Large size makes it a bit clumsy for travel
  • Big, heavy adapter

4-0 out of 5 stars another trick to raise the volume
I used another trick to raise the voice volume. Use the DUAL voice function, and set the dual voice be the same as the main voice. In this way, you DOUBLED the volume. Of course, the price is no more different dual voice.

5-0 out of 5 stars Certainly good enough!
OK, I haven't tried the Casios that some rave about, but I do know this...the keyboard does offer an adequate volume level (particularly how I play). If you want more volume: 1-Try turning the touch response off. 2-Go into the function menu and turn the M.Volume control UP. I'm certain that the naysayers didn't read into the manual. I admit that there's not a ton of additional sound, but it's set at "104" from the factory and can go to "127" if you choose to. That's because Yamaha has given the unit some "play" so you can raise or lower the sound to match other built-in settings. Also when a "song" is playing there's extra sounds like bass, cymbal etc., so how much can you expect of 12watts, total? 3-Go to radio shack, get the right adapter and plug it in to you stereo (or I've read about some adding inexpensive PC speakers for $30-$60). One or all of the above will do the trick.

It's got a great range of voices. The piano sounds great as well as others like guitar, church organ, etc. There's 600 to choose from. I advise the 202 model which will include a sustain pedal, AC power adapter, some 'phones and an extended warranty.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not enough to stand by itself
I've always been loyal to Yamaha keyboards, so when I decided to purchase a new (consumer-level) keyboard, I figured I'd continue to be loyal to the tradition. Well, after having dropped by the local Sam Ash music store, it seems like it's going to be the end of that tradition. As much as I continue to love the sounds that Yamaha offers in its keyboards, the power that this one delivers, along with the design it comes with (don't know... things are just oddly placed, in my opinion), made me drop my wish for another Yamaha, considering my budget max of $300 for a keyboard these holidays. Instead, I will be buying the Casio WK-3000 Professional Series 76 Key Digital Recording Studio Styled Keyboard, which came out in late 2003.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good overall, a couple of disappointments
Good overall, a couple of disappointments

Overall the sound from this keyboard is good. I had to buy separate speakers (went for some decent quality computer speakers) because the built-in speakers were a little disappointment.

There is a good list of voices and songs, but its hard to find specifics in the list because they are not alphabetical, so every time I want to play a specific song or use a particular voice, I need to spin through all of the lists.

Haven't tried all the connectivity features (to a computer) but it seems relatively simple.

3-0 out of 5 stars I returned it!
The DGX series do not allow the piano voice to be played loud enough; it can only be heard at slightly less than an average volume when volume dial is turned to "max." The problem is that I found myself playing harder to get the touch sensitivity to compensate. I had to decide whether to get an amplifier or speakers, or to return it. The positive reviews about this keyboard are all true. I only gave it three stars because of the volume problem. Every DGX model (200, 300, and 500) have low volume output for the grand piano voice. If you have speakers or an amplifier, than this keyboard is worth every penny. Beware that many other buyers have had the same complaint. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good sounding drum machine.
I bought the DD-35 machine last year, It has a great digital drum sound..I play it through my head phones along with my cd player.BUT!...be warned..This machine startes to short out after about six weeks of steady playing!..I discovered the only way to over-come this problem was to remove the rubber drum pads and place them on a SEPARATE playing platform...that way the electronics don't take a banging and short out..I had to lenthen the wires from the drum machine to another playing board. but now it should last many years this way...Yamaha should design this machine with a separate playing surface. But all and all..a good sounding drum machine.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice gift for a budding musician
I bought this for my 18 year old brother who is learning to play the guitar, and I've gotten nothing but positive feedback from home where he and my other younger siblings have been having a good time learning to play the drums.

I took 1 star away because I was hoping it could be used as a drum machine, but apparently it stores less than a minute of performance, making it inappropriate for a single person to play both the drums and guitar, and it has limited drum machine functionality. Still, it has a high fun to price ratio, and I was glad to give such a well appreciated gift.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for the Fidgety Teen!

Amazon.com Review

The Yamaha PSR170AD is a dream-come-true for piano students. It would be hard not to learn at least basic keyboard skills while using this model. The user-friendly LCD display shows permanent bass and treble clefs and has a small virtual keyboard. As a song played or we plunked at the keyboard, the notes were instantly displayed. At first we felt that this was a novelty feature, but as we moved into the lessons, we could see that it can be helpful to see the staff and notes.

While we were playing random chords to see what they looked like on the bass clef, we noticed that the keys are not sensitive to touch. We could bang on the keys like Jerry Lee Lewis or caress them like Yanni and the volume never changed. Though this may throw an experienced keyboardist for a loop, it might also be useful to the novice, who won't have to worry about volume control.

The PSR170AD is equipped with the Yamaha Education Suite feature. This feature walks you through seven lessons at your own pace. The lessons are a blur at first, but the fact that the keyboard will repeat them as many times as you want allows you to run them over and over again until you become comfortable. The lessons can be done using the 100 voices and styles that come on the PSR170AD. This was particularly enjoyable, as we would have been bored while practicing without a little variety. It comes with 100 prerecorded songs--some we never heard before, some we can't forget. You can play along with any of them anytime.

Yamaha lets you have fun away from the lessons and learning with the DJ Mode. The DJ Mode has groovy voice and music samples you can use to play along with a prerecorded funky dance riff or to create your own. If you're like us, it may take you a while to get back to the serious side of the keyboard. As a MIDI compatible keyboard, the PSR170AD can connect to a sequencer orcomputer via MIDI cables (sold separately), both of which can record musical performances from the keyboard and then play them back using the instrument voices on the PSR170AD. This is great for adding it to an ensemble and using the keyboard to lay down tracks while recording.

Overall, this keyboard impressed us most by how well designed it was for the music student. It comes with just enough functions for learning the basics and not so many that you get bogged down in menus. The keyboard isn't all about learning, though. We plugged it in right out of the box and had a toe-tapping good time. --Brian Vandiver

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for the money
I bought this for my wife because I didn't think she would stick with it. She is having fun with it, and it has a lot of neat extras. Great for beginners, but more advanced music needs will need more.
If you're buying a keyboard for a kid or someone that isn't a professional, this is a great deal.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for learning!
I bought this keyboard for the purpose of learning to play the piano. It is a great instrument, lots of fun, and makes learning a pleasure! The value and quality are more than I expected. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this item again.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME
THIS KEYBOARD ROCKS!!!!!!

WE have had this keyboard for 2 years and it is still as good as new!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars good piano for beginner
arrived in less than a week w/ free shipping, was able to put a $50 certificate towards it so was a steal, never played a piano before, learned to play beethoven's 9th in less than a day, pretty easy to learn, could use better instructions teaching what all the chords are (esp if you are just starting out), takes good time learning w/ the electronic lessons, same volume of sound for whatever strength pressed of key could be annoying once you learn what you are doing, but for 50 bucks less & if you are a beginner that may not make a huge difference, all in all, good piano, i recommend it

1-0 out of 5 stars no good, a ...

3-0 out of 5 stars this is good for "silent practices"
This item is definitely good when living in a house with others, and you can practice different rudiments on it, but there are no digital cymbals or a digital bass. The fell to the "drums" isn't the greatest either, but they do do the job. there are a bunch of different sound effects on this I'd never be able to pull off with the real drum set I have, which ameks me like it. So again, I think Yamaha for making this, it kept me from quitting the drums, and now my family and I get along together because there is no noise factor. ... Read more
