Amazon.com Product Description When hooked up with the digital-audio output from a DVD-Video player or digital satellite receiver, the 95-watts-per-channel HTR-5760 handles 5.1-channel surround decoding for both major formats, Dolby Digital and DTS. In addition, the receiver processes Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, DTS-ES Discrete 6.1, DTS Neo:6, and DTS 96/24. The extended-surround formats create even more expansive soundfields through a center-rear surround channel, for which THX suggests using two separate speakers. The result is seven discrete full-range channels in addition to the LFE (low-frequency effects) channel: front left/right, surround left/right, front center channel, and a pair of rear-center channels. A key benefit from a Yamaha receiver, of course, is Yamaha's proprietary signal processing, including Cinema DSP (digital soundfield processing), which creates aural "imaging" that not only makes your home sound like a theater, but also sounds better than most movie theaters. Based on a wealth of measured data in real studios and halls, Cinema DSP is designed to bring out the full potential of movie sound mixes, reproducing them the way directors and sound engineers intended. And, when you're listening to multichannel presentations late at night, you'll appreciate Silent Cinema, which simulates 5.1-channel listening through a pair of ordinary 2-channel headphones (not included). Silent Cinema uses unique parameters for each soundfield to ensure accurate headphone representations of each soundfield. The receiver comes with YPAO (Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer) and a dedicated microphone to help you establish the best possible sound at your primary listening position. The optimizer uses the microphone to "listen" to the sound from the speakers and determine, based on its test-signals, how best to equalize the sound for your room. Corrections include speaker/subwoofer phase relationships, speaker/subwoofer distance measurements (corrects for differences down to 5 cm), frequency response (measures and optimizes each speaker's response using a parametric equalizer), and speaker level (measures and aligns the relative volume levels of all speakers). Then there's the eight-channel DVD-Audio/SACD-ready inputs mentioned above. Due to anti-piracy measures, DVD-Audio and SACD players perform their own digital-to-analog conversion, passing high-resolution analog signals on to your amplifier. (And analog, after all, is what your amp feeds your speakers.) DVD-Audio and SACD can each deliver up to six channels of discrete, full-frequency sound at greater-than-CD resolution (in the case of DVD-A, that means 24 bits, 96 kHz sampling rate versus 16 bits, 44.1 kHz for CD). In stereo or surround, the sound from DVD-Audio and SACD is packed with detail, yet smoother and sweeter from than the sound from even the best standard CD players. The HTR-5760 accommodates decoded DVD-A/SACD signals and routes them to the appropriate speakers in your surround system. The receiver offers five audio/video input connections (all with composite-/S-video, two with component-video), eight fixed and assignable digital-audio inputs (great for DSS, CD, laserdisc, gaming consoles, or minidisc), and front-panel input connections with digital-audio jacks for your camcorder or other spontaneous hookup. The receiver's video circuitry is high-definition ready, too (60 MHz bandwidth), and it will upconvert composite-video to an S-video signal to simplify TV hookup. Last, but certainly not least, the HTR-5760 benefits from Yamaha's Digital ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) build philosophy. The culmination of the best digital engineering and design possible, it brings together several key elements to create the best-sounding, easiest-to-use A/V components available. For Home Theater and Movies ? 5 STARS (Audio in a movie disc is not audiophile grade, so this receiver is just fine for that) As an audiophile 2-channel receiver ? 3 STARS (get a external good quality poweramp for this) Suggestions to Yamaha: 2 - Remove the TUNER and reduce the cost. If you want to listen to the radio ... use that clock radio ! or go out for a drive in your car. 3 - Give us a lighted remote. Any Home Theater component ought to have a lighted remote. I am sure you know why. Right ? Overall a very good receiver. Good work Yamaha. Bye Bye overpriced Denon. ... Read more

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo doubt this is the best keyboard, or should I call it "Digital Piano", that YAMAHA's ever made. It's incredible how it sounds, so you'd like to check out the audio samples on YAMAHA's page, www.yamaha.com COME ON!
What interested me in the Yamaha DGX500 was the educational software included since I'd been away from the piano for several years. Plus having 88 keys to play Jazz was also an added bonus. .... Once assembled, I turned on the instrument & amazed at the sound from a digital piano ... It has a beautiful blue LCD display that indicates both treble & bass clef & also shows all the keys on the piano so when you play you can instantly see where each key is & what note you are playing. Also included are over 200 songs (complete w/sheet music) that can be easily learned via the display. The educational software makes learning (or re-learning) music fun since it can teach you right hand-left hand techiques, timing, etc. All in all this instrument is well worth the money even if you pay retail ...P>If you are an inspiring student or someone like me who took a hiatus from playing, take a serious look at this piano before choosing a more expensive instrument. ... Amazon.com Product Description The RX-SL100 is a powerful receiver that accepts the DVD player's Dolby Digital and Dolby EX, and DTS/DTS-ES/DTS Neo:6 surround signals (5.1- and 6.1-channel formats) and routes each channel to its designated speaker. Dolby Pro Logic IIx generates discrete multichannel surround sound from any stereo source. The receiver uses a highly efficient digital amplifier which delivers high power and low distortion from a chassis much smaller than that of a traditional A/V receiver. Additionally, the receiver's Silent Cinema and Night Listening modes enhance headphone and low-level listening, respectively, while Yamaha's 32-bit Cinema-DSP processing gives you an additional 28 surround effects to enhance your movies and music. Front-panel audio/video inputs (including an optical digital-audio in) make it easy to play games or view camcorder footage through your theater, and the receiver offers a total of 5 A/V inputs. The tuner section offers 40-station AM/FM preset tuning. Yamaha's DV-SL100 spins DVD-Video, VCD, SVCD, CD-R/CD-RW, DVD+R/+RW, DVD-R/-RW, MP3, and JPEG (multisession) CDs, putting most types of audio and video media at your disposal. The versatile player will even render region-free European PAL-formatted discs on NTSC televisions, and vice-versa. The player features both interlaced (for standard TVs) and progressive-scan component-video outputs (for use with compatible HD or HD-ready TVs). Other features include picture zoom, shuffle play, repeat play, and five-disc resume. The 7-speaker complement includes the 6-speaker NS-AP9500 for the front, center, and surround speakers and Yamaha's YST-SW030 subwoofer for deep bass, which is important for effective home theater sound. Each 3-way speaker in the NS-AP9500 ensemble uses a sealed, acoustic-suspension design with Quad 4-inch high-compliance pulp-cone woofers and a .75-inch soft-dome tweeter. The 130-watt, 8-inch subwoofer offers Yamaha's patented Advanced Active Servo Technology (Advanced YST), which generates incredible bass from its small enclosure. Advanced YST uses negative-impedance feedback in the amp and a Helmholtz resonator in the speaker to provide strong and accurate bass. QD-Bass (Quatre Dispersion Bass) technology uses a down-firing driver with square, pyramid-shaped reflective plates to radiate sound with equal effectiveness in all directions. The sub's individual volume control permits the perfect matching of the sub's output to the overall volume of the system. The sub has a signal-sensing circuit, too. When it detects an audio signal, it powers right up. When it senses no signal for several minutes, it shuts itself off. Yamaha's BASS (Bass Action Selector Switch) tailors the sub's output for either video or music at the touch of a switch. The sub accepts a line-level RCA input only, and a handy phase normal/reverse switch makes it easy to phase-align the output of the subwoofer with the other speakers in the system (room placement greatly affects phase relationships). All speakers included with the YHT-F1500 feature magnetic shielding, so they can be placed near a TV or monitor and cause no picture degradation. What's in the Box Features

Amazon.com Product Description Be aware, however, that the system requires a 6.1-channel receiver for full enjoyment. If you're already set up for 5.1 sound (without the rear center-channel output), don't sweat it--you'll still get terrific performance (and you can always store one of the system's five satellite speakers for later on). The satellites and the center-channel speaker all use acoustic-suspension designs with dual 2-inch drivers, and all are capable of handling amplifier power up to 100 watts (30 watts nominal power). The powered sub packs the most "under the hood," so to speak, with Yamaha's patented Advanced Active Servo Technology (Advanced YST) generating incredible bass from its small enclosure. Advanced YST uses negative-impedance feedback in the amp and a Helmholtz resonator in the speaker to provide strong and accurate bass. The user-adjustable high-cut filter, with settings for "high" and "low," sets the highest frequency the subwoofer will deliver. This allows the sub's output to be matched to the lowest reproducible frequency of the other speakers in the system and the room's acoustics for a seamless presentation. A rotary volume control permits the perfect matching of the sub's output to the overall volume of the system. The YST-SW005 has a signal-sensing circuit, too. When the subwoofer detects an audio signal, it turns its power on. When it senses no signal for several minutes, it shuts itself off. Two sets of inputs let the sub accept either line- or speaker-level inputs, while a handy phase normal/reverse switch makes it easy to phase the subwoofer with the other speakers in your system (room placement greatly affects phase relationships). Amazon.com Product Description What's in the Box Features Reviews (13)
It is very sturdy, easy to use and folds for storage or transport. The legs scissor, so the height can be adjusted for basically any type of seating you use - we have used it from kitchen chair to bar stool height. When not in use, you can collapse the legs together for easier storage, the width is about 4" when closed. The only downside to the product, and I am not sure it is a problem with the product or with keyboards, is that there is no mechanism to firmly attach the keyboard to the stand. The keyboard just sits on top of the stand, and can easily be bumped off. I am sure that a way to attach the keyboard could be found, however I would not recommend this stand to a household with small children or for a household where the keyboard will be placed in a high traffic area.
Also, like others who have wirtten reviews, I thought the bolts were missing when I began assembly. They provide an Allen wrench in a little plastic bag and you expect the bolts to be there too, but they are screwed deeply into the legs and hard to see - the instructions should note this.

Amazon.com Product Description The YST-SW315 delivers high power at deep bass frequencies, with excellent stability and low power consumption. This is made possible by the sub's highly efficient PWM (pulse-wave modulation) digital-drive power amplifier. The amplifier achieves superior conversion efficiency by minimizing power loss from the power transistors. It delivers stable audio power while minimizing AC power consumption and heat production. As it requires no output filter coil, it's extremely quiet with low distortion. Yamaha's patented Advanced Active Servo Technology (Advanced YST) generates incredible bass from small speaker enclosures. This system uses negative-impedance feedback in the amp and a Helmholtz resonator in the speaker to provide strong and accurate bass. QD-Bass (Quatre Dispersion Bass) technology uses a down-firing driver with square, pyramid-shaped reflective plates to radiate sound efficiently in four horizontal directions. The reflective plates (not used in other brands' down-firing subwoofers) negate any effects caused by the floor surface and reduce resonance between sound waves reflected from the floor and the unit. Most other systems use circular cones, but the YST-SW315 avoids firing sound into the legs of the cabinet by radiating in four directions. Changing the height of the pyramid varies the acoustic load, permitting relatively simple high-cut adjustment and improving bandpass properties. QD-Bass also grants greater freedom of placement, since the sound radiates with equal effectiveness in all directions. The user-adjustable, continuously variable high-cut filter sets the highest frequency the subwoofer will deliver. It can be set anywhere from 40 to 140 Hz. For instance, if the filter is set at 75 Hz, only frequencies 75 Hz or below will be delivered by the subwoofer. This allows the sub's output to be matched to the lowest reproducible frequency of other speakers in the system and the room's acoustics for a seamless presentation. The rotary volume control permits the perfect matching of the sub's output to the overall volume of the system. The YST-SW315 has a signal-sensing circuit. When the subwoofer detects an audio signal, it turns its power on. When it senses no signal for several minutes, it shuts itself off. Yamaha's BASS (Bass Action Selector Switch) tailors the sub's output for video or music at the touch of a switch. Two sets of inputs let the sub accept either line- or speaker-level inputs, while a handy phase normal/reverse switch makes it easy to phase the subwoofer with the other speakers in your system. Three-way speaker terminals accept banana plug and a variety of other connectors, as well as speaker wire, and the YST-SW315's thick, rigid MDF cabinet reduces vibrations and resonance. The speaker's handsome black-ash finish blends in with room decor and complements many furnishing styles, and it's magnetically shielded so you can place it near a TV or computer monitor without degrading the picture.
