5-0 out of 5 stars Very Satisfied
I bought this antenna, along with the 15-1880 model from Radio Shack ($49.95), and the Terk HDTVi ($39.95). The Terk received only 3 channels (2 HD), and the Radio Shack received 12 channels (8 HD). The Jensen received 22 channels (10 in HD). It also helps that I found this antenna from HH Gregg for only $39.99. So far, I am very pleased. My HD reception is incredible.

1-0 out of 5 stars A huge waste of money
First of all the product itself is very expensive.... This is mainly because the antenna has a small remote control you adjust the reception with. This feature is sort of neat, but its not enough to make up for the poor performance of the item. Basically, the item will improve reception on a handful of channels. For me these channels were the ones closest to my house (I can get these channels with any antenna. I didn't need to spend over 100 Canadian dollars to get those channels). I also noticed that those channels I should be getting fuzzy reception on where actually made worse by this antenna. Then I moved to the USA and had the same problem at my apartment there. The last straw was noticing all 7 people in my apartment building getting better reception than me (one of the guys was using a early 1980's antenna held together by masking tape). So, I bought a much cheaper antenna that had good reviews and now I get great reception. This antenna system sits collecting dust in a box never to be used again. If you enjoy wasting money, buy this antenna. If you want improved reception, buy ANYTHING else. I'm sure what ever you buy will be better than this one and will cost you less at that.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works in rural Kansas, week remote
We live on a farm 30 miles from a city in KS and have a wide range of signal strengths, from a tower 4 miles away to one 50 miles away. We used the remote to adjust for maximum picture quality for each station and saved the adjustment. With this we can view all channels with a clear picture by using the remote recall the best position for each channel. We can now view several channels without the changing color bands we had before.
Only the week remote and the glare off of the display keeps me from a five star award.

2-0 out of 5 stars good theory, disappointing in practice
Here's a nifty new concept: create an antenna where the optimal settings for each station are recorded and preset and can be accessed by memory remote, add on an adjustable amplifier to tune in weak signals and tune down overly strong signals, all in one package. Great ideas. I live in Boston and have only a handful of viewable stations w/the antenna that came w/my TV. I thought this device would help me gain a few more.

I set up the antenna as per the manual and did a head to head test comparing this new device with my old antenna. I then viewed the reception on each channel by first viewing it with the Jensen antenna, then removing the coax cable and replacing it with the old atenna, taking care to not move either the Jensen or the TV.

Results: marginal improvement in picture quality in 2 stations, but LOSS of ability to view channel 10 with the Jensen. In addition, I was unable to pick up ANY additional stations.

My conclusion: the Jensen probably is of questionable benefit in urban settings. How it performs in rural settings remains for others to determine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Everything I expected...
This indoor antennae provides great indoor reception in a very convenient manner--best antennae I've ever come across, matter of fact. The remote that came with it has a weak signal, so I programmed it into my universal remote, and voila!, now I get to be an even lazier couch potatoe! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I have a Manual for the Jensen Universal 3 remote control
I just realized how hard it was to locate this manual until i needed it. So when i found mine i thought that i should let people know that if you need some instructions or a code or any thing you can e-mail me and I will e-mail you what you need. I hope that i have helped a few people enjoy their remotes like i enjoy this one. I have gone through 3 in 3 or 4 years. They are really good remotes. E-mail me at greeneyzz4u1973@aol.com and I will be glad to help.

5-0 out of 5 stars For Duo Long (SP) who was looking for instructions
Go to www.xdiv.com/remotes
They are a great resource and I found the Jensen product TV/VCR codes I was looking for. Jensen was owned by one company and then bought out and that is why the JensenRemotes.com is no longer working.

I hope you find what you needed!

1-0 out of 5 stars need your help
The www.jensenremotes.com does not work, if anyone out there that have one of this remote, please help me. I need a copy of this remote manual. If possible, please post something up on here. Thank you.

2-0 out of 5 stars Lots of buttons, not so much function.
I bought this remote as a replacement for my VCR remote that broke. When selecting which model to buy, I thought this one would be good because of its price, and because it seemed to have all the buttons required to replace the functions of my original remote. When I brought it home and set it up, I found that many of the buttons were not used with the VCR function, and that the "Display" and "Clear" functions of my original remote were not available. This prevents me from removing programmed shows, or using the index features of my VCR. Also, with the "Display" function missing, I can't recall the channel or time on my TV either. I tried all the codes for the brands of equipment I have, and none of the other codes offered the additional functionality. This remote looks good at first glance, but some additional thought should have been to implementing more of the important features people need. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A good workhorse
Overall, I love this remote. It is the first remote I found that can handle every device function I try. Many of the devices have just a few codes too, which is nice. I only have a few reservations about this, and they are small. Literally the device buttons are too small. I have large hands, but good eyes, and I find my self having to squint to read the device buttons. The layout is nice, but I would prefer the dvd menu operation buttons to be up by the channel and volume and the VCR buttons to be elsewhere. I still think this is a great remote functionally. I nitpic only to show I am capble of finding room for improvement. Jensen was recently purchased by Thomson, the owner of the GE and RCA brands of electronics, among others. So expect a shake up. I phone them, and found them to be mostly helpful. They did not however steer me to the fact "General instrunments" is the "Brand" of my cable box remote, as opposed to "motorola" like its logo suggests. Once I learned that, the remote runs the DVR/cable like a pro.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jensen JR-500
I think the remote is great, except when I try to turn the volume up on my audio reciever it turns the volume up on my tv. Which is something they should have thought about. As far as codes, they were very easy to find on the internet at www.jensen.com

3-0 out of 5 stars JR500 remote codes
I think this remote is very good. However, finding customer support can prove to be quite difficult. Jensen was bought out by rca. If you need the remote codes you can contact me at jbellefeuille@personainc.ca

1-0 out of 5 stars did not get the codes book , need HELP!!
WOULD APPRECIATE SOMEBODY TO SHARE THE CODES FOR JR500, I TRIED WWW.JENSENREMOTES.COM , BUT COULDN'T GET IN , THANKS!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Might work some, not all!!
2 stars for looks. Might work for some but not for me. This worked for my VCR and DVD. TV and stereo no luck. After that I didn't want to try it on my cable box. I was about to break it after fifteen minutes of use. No backlit buttons and too many of them. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for the money
Based on the price and a need for RF capability, I thought I'd give this unit a try. It works well with my Quasar TV, Technics CD, JVC VCR, and Jerrold Cable box. It glitched on the Sony DE835 receiver, not being able to switch back to TV mode after switching out. Also, the surround/menu features won't respond. A call to the hotline informed me that this Sony model is not covered so, as someone previously mentioned, it's best to call before purchasing if this is important. Actually I'd blame Sony more than Jensen as they could try for more backward-compatibility when bringing new units to market. Anyway, I wanted to control my tuner and cd player from my outdoor spa and this unit allows me to do that. But I have a direct line of sight to the RF receiver thru a window and I think if it wasn't for this, it wouldn't work as well, or at all. Generally, the RF is limited. All in all, for $30, I'm satisfied.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected
The remote worked fine for my GE TV and Sanyo VCR. It also did about 85% of what I needed it to do for my Harman-Kardon Receiver. The problem that I had with it though, is that it did not work for my RCA CD player or DVD player. I would not recommend this remote.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly for me
Given some of the reviews, I was initially hesitant about purchasing this. However, it's working like a charm. I have a 1 receiver DirecTV setup with the receiver located in my family room, and then a second TV in our bedroom also wired to the receiver. The receiver came with an infered remote control, so I couldn't change channels on the dish from my bedroom without the direct line of sight. But, I can with no problems with this Jensen. Also, it controls my 15 year old Sony TV like a charm. It works perfectly for my requirements.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Enough!
Almost perfect. Love the feature that allows me to turn all equiment on/off with the action+power click (kinda like a shift key). Worked with all my stuff (RCA TV, Sony VCR, Sony DVD, Technics Surround Sound Tuner, and Technics CD), however, remote won't tell tuner to select VCR2 input. Still, allowed me to shelve 4 remotes. I'd buy it again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works exactly as I had hoped - great product
This remote controls my TV, ProLogic reciever, VCR, and satelight dish. All work perfectly. I don't have much to say about it other than it worked just like I wanted it to. I can control my satelight from any room in the house and I'm happy. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Can't use it to program the VCR
I am happy to have a remote I can use to turn both the TV and the VCR on and off and to advance and rewind tapes. However, using this remote, I can't eject a tape, program the VCR or even reset the clock!

1-0 out of 5 stars Jensen SC340
Totally worthless! We bought 15 of these and each one stopped working after being in use for no more than 2 weeks. Not a battery problem...

1-0 out of 5 stars a zero
I've had this one for about a month and a half, and it quit working. Also, it would only work if pointed exactly at the base of the t.v. A little bit one side or the other and up or down and it would not work. I learned my lesson, you get what you pay for.

1-0 out of 5 stars Jensen SC340
Garbage! Save your money. Woked for about an hour then totally broke down. The lights did not work to indicate your pressing a button ,etc...DONT BUY

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Good Value
The SC 340 works as advertised. It is very easy to set up and use. However, it did not control the on-screen menus on a RCA Satellite box, although it can turn the device on and off, change volume, channels , etc. The bulletin board at the Jensen web site does acknowledge this, but the information is buried in the customer bulletin board. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Not useful for DVD Player
Ergonomics is slightly awkward. My wife thought it was too unwieldy for smaller hands. The channel +/- buttons have to be very firmly pressed. Although the backlit keys are nice, they make a distinct high pitched hum everytime you press a button and for the two seconds the lights remain on. Jensen replied that is "normal for (their) backlit remotes controls."

However, the biggest problem that i have with this is that it has no "Enter" key equivalent for dvd menus which to me makes it totally useless for dvd control. On the other hand, the Jensen tech support is pretty good.

2-0 out of 5 stars Increase Color but not decrease
Some function work and some don't. On control of TV cannel up and down as well as volume up and down work ok but the control of menu of color increase or any other function worked to incease but would not allow decrease. I have another unit to access the function this one doesn't work and between the to controls I am able to operate. In other words the R- function of the controler does not work.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dont buy this one
There are much better remotes on the market. I mistakenly purchased this one because of it's claimed functions and it's price tag. It does a poor job of controlling any newer components and seems to be suited for OLD electronics without menu's or navigation controls, and if you have a Dolby Digital Reciever... forget about it... BAD

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad design, spotty compatibility
Stay away from this one. While it did control my Aiwa shelf system, Sony DVD, RCA VCR, and Philips TV, it only supported some features of each and not others. On my TV menu, it would scroll through menu items one way, but not the other. When controlling the stereo, I also had to press the volume button about 100 times in rapid succession to get the volume knob to inch up just a bit. It also would "forget" which mode it was on, meaning I had to press the button for another component and then go back to the one I wanted.

Also - REAL bad design. The channel buttons are on the bottom, meaning that many times I had to channel surf using 2 hands because there wasn't enough room to hold the entire remote and press the buttons at the same time.

2-0 out of 5 stars Why, Jensen, why?
This just goes to show you that even a little research pays off. This remote looks very nice and is backlit, but it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. It wouldn't work for my Denon AVR-3300 ( a very popular receiver) or my Sony MiniDisc deck or my Apex DVD player. Jensen support consists of a message board where everyone wants to know why the remote won't control anything. I came across a great site called RemoteCentral and there was a HUGE thread of users of the RadioShack 15-1994. Controls all my stuff and the code and internet support is very good. And it has macros! Backlit too! Only controls six devices though. But if you can get this remote to control that many you are lucky. ... Read more
