The features are very slow to respond and I keep losing the date and time settings very frequently. Until now, I did not have options for other phones and I stuck to this. Now, I will buy a 5.8GHz cordless expandable phone system. They have pretty good reviews. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description The CP-750 includes Modem Monitor, an especially helpful feature if you use a modem or fax machine on the same line as your phone. Modem Monitor knows the difference between voice and data calls, so it prevents you from accidentally interrupting an online session or a fax transmission when you activate the handset. The CP-750 handset includes a three-line display that shows the phone's status (whether or not it's in use) and the length of time you've been on your call. This display also shows the name, number, date, and time of each caller in the caller ID log. With "display and dial," you can scroll through names and numbers in the caller ID log or in the autodial memory and then dial those numbers by just pressing a button. When you receive a new caller ID call, a light on the base goes on. The CP-750's other features include autodialing for up to 20 names and numbers, a toll-call indicator, and hold with extension release. In addition, this phone has a new-call indicator (an icon indicates the number of a new incoming call), a jack for an optional headset, and a belt clip. You can mount the CP-750 on a desktop or a wall; from either position, the handset will recharge and you will be able to view the caller ID information. Features

The unit goes bonkers when there is a power outage (all it's light begin to flash.) If that happens, the unit won't ring and won't record messages until reset. Resetting isn't easy either. A simple turn off-turn back on to reset would have been a nice. Even changing the day/time isn't easy. The positive is the moden intercept. If you have a single line phone and you accidently pick up phone or are receiving a fax you won't ruin your internet/fax connection. Other phones won't allow you to pick up by mistake thus ruining you internet/fax in progess. If you want to walk around while talking this is fine. It even has a jack for a earphone/microphone and that works great. Just remember to put the phone back in the charger and keep it there when not in use. One day this one will go sailing out the window. Then I have to buy a new phone, fix a broken window, and endure a tongue lashing from the wife. DON'T buy it either new or used.
Meanwhile, I have purchased a Uniden for less money, which works flawlessly. I will NEVER purchase another Casio product; anyone can make a lemon, but it takes a truly bad company to fail to correct their mistakes. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review Casio PhoneMate technology recognizes and warns you when an online session, data transfer, or fax is in progress; a bright indicator light on the base and handset flashes. Built-in safeguards prevent you from interrupting the modem, even if you pick up the phone and try to make a call. You can, of course, override the safeguard to make a call. The CP-720 also indicates if the line is in use by another caller on an extension. The CP-720 delivers the extended operating range expected of a 900 MHz phone. We tested this phone in a building with plenty of walls and electronic equipment; the signal remained strong at approximately 75 feet from the base, but quickly faded at greater distances. The sound quality was acceptable, though not as clear as some comparable 900 MHz phones. We also tested the battery and the CP-720 successfully delivered the four promised hours of talk time. After one quick consultation with the instruction manual, programming speed-dial numbers was quick and easy. Additional features include call hold, call flash, last-number redial, handset pager, out-of-range alarm, and channel selection. Uncommon features add to the CP-720's appeal and practicality. The handset keypad illuminates in low-light situations and you can extend the battery's standby charge for up to 20 days by turning on the power saver feature. You can take a call off hold by picking up any extension on the same phone line. Pros: Cons: Features

This Casio of mine has been working perfectly for 2 years now: electrical burn-outs are no problem: the 9 volt battery takes care of the outgoing message and all of the recorded messages. You CAN erase each message individually, and skip to the next one, without being forced to listen to is entirety. It does everything it claims in the manual, and you would know that if you'd READ THE MANUAL ! Works great ! Buy it if you cand find one !
I thank Casio for their attention to the user interface. More companies should do likewise. The single problem I have had is that the VOX threshhold is a bit too high. Some calls get cut off after 10 seconds (all mine from my work phone) while most of them can go on - presumably up to the documented 5 minute limit.

Amazon.com Review The TC-920B's advanced message management lets you play, save, skip, erase, repeat, or file messages with simple commands from the base or handset. You can listen to all messages or only new messages and you can hear them through the speakerphone or, for added privacy, the handset. You can save important messages in a special file for as long as you like. An array of features adds to the TC-920B's utility. The modem-monitor light warns if your line is busy with fax transmissions or online activity and prevents unwanted interruptions. You can also record and store two greetings and choose which one you want callers to hear. The memory holds up to 10 numbers for speed dialing; you can place callers on hold, take call-waiting calls, or pick up calls on any extension. The TC-920B also offers complete remote operation, with voice menu prompts, from outside the home of office. We tested the TC-920B's cordless operation in an area obstructed with walls and electronic equipment. The sound quality and signal clarity were fine up to a distance of about 50 feet; at that point, the signal quickly faded, even after switching channels. Though the manufacturer doesn't rate the TC-920B's talk time, it tested at three hours after four days of standby. It's possible that this phone may offer additional capacity for talk time. Setup and programming of the answering machine, guided by voice prompts, was quick and easy. The answering machine's sound quality is good, though it's not as clear as some stand-alone digital machines. We recorded a combination of messages and greetings; the memory successfully stored 20 minutes of recorded material. The manufacturer doesn't list a maximum message length, but we were able to record a three-minute test message. Overall, we think the TC-920B is versatile for home or business use, but the limited range may not suit users with more demanding expectations of a 900 MHz cordless phone. Pros: Cons: Features

Amazon.com Review Setting up the TA-180 was quick and easy; we were able to set the day/time and record greetings and personal memos with little or no help from the user's manual. Multiple greeting modes let you record separate greetings for each of your two lines. Once you record your greetings, you can arrange to have either greeting answer either phone line. Frequent callers can skip greetings by pressing their touch-tone # symbol. Indicator lights and bold numbers in the large display window indicate newly recorded messages. You can listen to messages for each line separately or combine the playback to include both lines. You can also program the TA-180 so that you listen to only new messages or to both new and saved messages. Voice prompts tally your message totals, reminding you which line you're using, and guide you through playback. The sound quality is good and the synthesized voice is quite lifelike. Casio PhoneMate's advanced messaging lets you skip forward or back and repeat, erase, or save messages with the touch of one button. If you are interrupted, you can pause playback for up to five minutes. By touching the up/down arrow buttons on the console, you can set the variable speed playback function to play any message 50 percent faster or slower than the normal playback speed. Once you've listened to a message, you can easily transfer it to the message file for long-term storage. We tested the TA-180's recording capacity by recording and storing a combination of greetings, messages, and memos that totaled approximately 28 minutes, which is the capacity that the manufacturer claims the TA-180 can handle. The TA-180 provides lifetime back-up memory without a battery. In the event of a power outage, the unit automatically saves your recorded greetings and messages. Overall, we think the TA-180 is a sensible answering solution for a two-line home or business. Pros: Features Reviews (4)
One person said it was hard to setup and program. It's easier than a VCR, it's easier than a home computer, it's easier than most microwaves. My phone setup is kinda ugly.... the manual covered the different installation options clearly - including my unusual phone setup, and following the instructions was a snap. All in all, I think the guy who said it was awful either didn't read the manual, or got a lemon.
What would I improve? The built-in "computer" voice that guides you through the setup and announces the number of messages is stilted and not natural sounding. All in all, no big deal.
