Amazon.com Product Description

The Sharp VL-NZ50 is a great entry-level digital camcorder, featuring a large 3-inch LCD monitor, 10x optical and 300x digital zoom, and digital image stabilization.

Lens
With an optical zoom magnification of 10x, the VL-NZ50 also has a digital zoom--which works by electronically enhancing the optical image--that can magnify the picture up to 300 times. The digital image stabilization system keeps the picture steady and solid throughout zooms and camera shakes.

Other Features
With its 270-degree variable angle, you can hold the VL-NZ50 in a variety of angles to record over people and objects or film close to the ground. You can even record yourself by rotating the view screen 180 degrees.

The built-in speaker allows on-the-spot playback with sound for checking and viewing video footage anywhere. An on-screen recording guide helps you line up landscape footage and can be used as a guide for easy framing of subject matter. The backlight compensation feature corrects exposure in poor lighting conditions.

The VL-NZ50 also features several digital effects (black and white, sepia, NEG) that can be viewed without affecting the original recording.

Inputs and Outputs
The VL-NZ50 comes with the standard DV IEEE 1394 port (also known as FireWire; Sharp refers to this connection as iLink) for a super-fast, lossless connection to a PC or other DV machines.

MiniDV Format
MiniDV digital technology delivers clear, sharp video with over 500 lines of horizontal resolution--far superior to the 240 lines of resolution offered by 8mm camcorders. You'll also get minimal color noise interference for a more stable picture.

The camera also features excellent sound quality, recorded in either 12-bit or 16-bit audio recording modes.

  • 16-bit audio includes one set of stereo audio tracks to produce CD-quality sound.
  • 12-bit audio utilizes two sets of audio tracks so you can easily add background music or commentary into your videos while maintaining the existing soundtrack.

This is all delivered on a cassette that's 1/12th the size of a standard VHS tape. A MiniDV tape offers digital recording time of two full hours--20 times the capacity of a CD.

4-0 out of 5 stars Spec typo
I haven't used the NZ50U, but be aware that the ... spec given above is wrong. The camera has a 10X optical zoom, not 26X. Also, a black version, the NZ55U, is due out in June.

I will say that I had excellent luck with the Sharp NZ10U. While I found it awkward to hold with one hand (my index and middle fingers covered the microphone and lens), its sound and image quality were quite good. The NZ50/55 appears to have the same basic construction.

1-0 out of 5 stars Suddenly stopped working
I purchased this camera in August of 2002 and have taken very good care of it. I have only used for aprox. 8 hours of recording. I powered on the camera, finished the tape that was currently in the recorder, and it suddenly powered off. I had noticed the battery was fully charged when I was recording so I knew it wasn't a battery issue. We then found there was no way to manually eject the tape since it is a motorized ejection process. We contact Sharp who suggested to remove the battery and reseat (which we had already tried) and if that did not help then it would have to be sent to a service center for $$$'s. The quality is very disappoining considering the camcorder was used so little and was always taken care of. We eventually took the camcorder apart ourselves destroying it just to salvage the video tape inside since it is more cost effective to purchase a new recorder than to send $$$'s to repair a junk camcorder.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice camera - when it works.
I have had this camera for a year and it is has served me well. It takes great video and I have been able to copy and edit the video on my PC to produce playable VCD's.
Operationally, holding the camera is a bit awkward, and I found it hard to go from a viewfinder to using the screen for framing the shot.
Unfortunately just after the warranty finished, it would not switch on! The batteries/adaptor checked out OK. A search on the internet has shown this to be a common problem, so I wouldn't recommend anyone purchasing what appears to be a flaky design.

1-0 out of 5 stars Stopped working after barely 1 year of ownership
I bought this camera and used it a few times. I think I filled a total of 6 tapes with video. I also used the still picture option a few times. I was pleased with the camera until one day I pulled the camera out to use it and it wouldn't turn on. Initially I thought that the battery was dead and that maybe the charger cord had a short in it or something and wasn't charging the battery, which has a very short operating time. I've always taken good care of the camera and when not in use I kept it in a padded camera bag. So I put the camera away and made a mental note to test the charger which I did a few days later. The charger tested fine and when I pulled the camera out to investigate further, it turned on and worked fine. About a month later I took the cam out to film my 5 year old play soccer and the camera was dead again. Apparently for good this time. I can't even eject the tape thats inside. Also, while I was inspecting the camera, I noticed that something was rattling around inside the camera. Therefore I opened the cassette door and turned the camera upside down, and two very tiny screws fell out of the camera into my hand. The screws are about the size of those used in eyeglass frames, very small, and I have no idea as to how they became unscrewed, or where they were located. Needless to say I am very disappointed. All of this conveniently occured after the measly 90 day warranty expired. I took the camera to a local electronics repair shop (Sharp only has 2 or 3 service centers in the whole US) who told me that Sharp is not very cooperative in releasing service manuals for their products and that this repair will cost me [$$$] because he will have to buy the manuals. Sharp wants even more money than that to repair it. Right now I could buy a brand new one for [$$$]. I am now an ex-customer of Sharp products and I'm telling everybody I know who's even considering purchasing a Sharp product about my experience.

1-0 out of 5 stars Stopped working
The camera was ok, considering when I would take still pictures the pictures would come out blurry. But then one day out of the blue It stopped working. It's like it had a short circuit. Then I was reading other reviews, I come to find, that I am not the only one that this has happend too with this camera. Of course this happens right after the 3 month warrenty is over. Oh they will fix it for you, but for a heavy labor charge. I would not recommend purchasing this camera at all. To top It all off the costumer service reps were very rude. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

The DV-SR45U is an integrated DVD recorder and DVD player that lets you make simple, one-touch video recordings onto durable, rewriteable DVDs for collecting, sharing, time-shifted viewing, and video archiving of your VHS tapes and camcorder footage. Its built-in TV tuner lets you record your favorite programs live or via timer, and a 30-second skip function makes it a cinch to hop past commercials or other content with ease.

Other features include CD/MP3 playback, DVD+R/+RW playback, and 1-year, 8-event scheduling. Rewriteable DVD-RW media can be recorded more than 1,000 times, holding 60 minutes in XP mode and an amazing 600 minutes (10 hours) of programming in SEP mode. The recorder's editing function will erase sections of recorded scenes easily. Select any image you like to represent a scene's thumbnail image for chapter selection. On rewritable discs, you can add chapter marks, delete parts of titles, and set representative thumbnail images.

Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the DV-SR45U is ready to deliver the full potential of your commercial DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. The DV-SR45U sports one set of progressive-scan component-video outputs and 1 each composite- and S-video outs for use with SD (standard-definition) TVs as well as with VCRs or DVRs.

Inputs consist of 2 each composite- and S-video, with 2 sets of stereo analog (left/right) RCA audio inputs. One set of AV/S inputs is conveniently located on the unit's front panel for ready connection to a camcorder or other device. An RF audio/video input accepts a feed from an older VCR or cable box, or an antenna, while a single RF output passes an NTSC tuner signal to another component.

In the audio department, this unit--like many other DVD recorders--compresses all incoming audio signals with Dolby Digital 2.0, which conserves space but slightly compromises audio quality. A set of left/right RCA analog-audio outputs channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's coaxial digital-audio output for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver.

The DV-SR45U simplifies the process of searching for a specific moment on a disc through its high-speed-access thumbnail views and Quick Search functions. In addition, this DVD recorder also features a Block Noise filter that decreases overall noise in the playback picture.

The DV-SR45U is CPRM-compliant. CPRM stands for stands for Content Protection for Recordable Media, a copy-protection system triggered by specific CPRM programs. You can record copy-once broadcast programs, but you cannot then make a copy of those recordings. CPRM recordings can only be made on DVD-RW discs formatted in VR mode, and CPRM recordings can only be played on players that are specifically compatible with CPRM.

Amazon.com Product Description

With a free angle range of 225 degrees, you can easily swivel the Sharp VL-Z7U to shoot from a high angle, low angle, or even back at yourself without straining your wrist. The VL-Z7U is also a well-equipped digital camcorder that features a 10x optical zoom, 2.5-inch LCD display, color viewfinder, and 1.33 megapixel CCD for high-quality digital stills.

Image Stabilization
Sharp uses electric picture stabilization that keeps your images smooth and steady. Natural jerks and shaky holding will be smoothed over with this function turned on.

Optics
The 1/4-inch CCD has 1,330,000 pixels for sharp and clear imaging. The 10x optical zoom is effective for most purposes, but if you need extra close shots the camcorder can zoom up to 500x digitally. For low-light situations, the camcorder can operate in slow shutter mode for slow-moving or stable objects and night lumi mode for bright objects at night.

More Features
The VL-Z7U features a 2.5-inch color LCD and a color viewfinder. The LCD monitor incorporates new CG silicon technology to achieve high luminance and definition, making viewing easy even in broad daylight. The rechargeable battery snugly clips inside the frame of the camcorder, rather than outside like most other camcorders. This makes the camera less bulky and easier to carry.

The 1.33-megapixel CCD creates high-quality digital pictures, and the built-in flash fires when there is too little light. Images are stored on the included 8 MB Secure Digital memory card, but the camera is also compatible with MultiMedia Cards. You can easily import your stills onto a computer via the USB port. The standard IEEE1394 (Firewire) connection can be used for digital video editing, while the standard AV output terminal is used for viewing on TV or dubbing.

MiniDV Format
MiniDV is the new preferred format for personal and broadcast-quality video, highly regarded for its high audio and image quality. With up to 540 lines of horizontal resolution and minimum color noise, MiniDV delivers a 20 percent clearer picture than analog camcorder formats. This is all delivered on a cassette that's 1/12th the size of a standard VHS tape. A MiniDV tape offers digital recording time of 2 full hours--20 times the capacity of a CD.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great family camcorder
I teach video productions and I've tried many camcorders. I like the Sharp's ability to rotate the body of the camera with my hand and still be able to get good shots at various angles without putting my wrist in traction. The drawbacks I've found are the lack of an external mic input (which isn't usually a requirement for most family videos) and a small button to control tape playback. This is a problem with us fat thumbed people. I would recommend buying an additional battery since there isn't an external charger available. Other than that, I think the camera has excellent video quality and a nice compact body yet still large enough for larger hands to operate without problem.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Camcorder
This is the first camcorder I've owned, though not the first I've used. I'm very happy with my purchase. I think it has excellent video quality, much better than others in a comparable price range. It does have a compact battery (for a reason), and hence a shorter recording time. I have recorded for over an hour straight with one battery. But you can purchase extra batteries if necessary (I bought one on ebay for $20).
It has tons of features and options, more than I will probably use. The manual provided is extremely helpful in guiding you through the many features. I was recording within 10 minutes of opening the box.
I have read negative reviews regarding the on screen menus, the manual, still images; let me just say that I have not had any problems with any of those. I find the menu EASY to navigate. And the manual explains everything. I read it from front to back without ANY confusion. It does not have an index in the back, but it has a table of contents at the beginning if you'd rather just browse. I have not seen a CAMCORDER that has better still images than this one. I have seen better pictures from a digital CAMERA. I suspect some people may not have the patience, or interest, in learning how to utilize all of the features that may yield the best quality images. Or, perhaps they're just used to a different product.
Some of the most commonly used features like playback on TV, downloading to PC, editing, I think are easy to use and just plain fun!
Anyway, I must emphasize that the overall quality of this camcorder is great. Every product is different, we pick and choose. I use mine for recording life's little (and big) events.
If you're still comparing camcorders, be sure to consider this one.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great everything - EXCEPT video quality
I had high hopes about this camcorder. It was cute, lightweight, the 1.3Megapixel CCD and everything appeared to be great. But once I shot the video and reviewed it on my TV. ***TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT***. What can be more important than video quality? It just sucks big time. My old Panasonic VHS camcorder has better video quality. Also, the camera picked up extremely high motor noise when ambient sound level was low or silent. NOT a good design. I read several reaviews prior to buying to camcorder and I must agree that WAIT for the next revision. Video is extremely NOT SHARP!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars need spare battery???
just don't know where on earth to buy the spare battery????

4-0 out of 5 stars not too shabby
very satisfied. that is how i would describe my experience up to this point with the sharp vlz7u. i bought mine for [$$$] in may of 03 and for the price i am very satisfied. no where else will one get the still picture quality in a camcorder for a comparable price. the recessed mic is nice and the swivel action is priceless. who hasn't had to hold their arm, elbow and wrist in that uncomfortable vertical position for extended amonts of time in order to capture that killer shot? you know, that shot that in retrospect [was bad] due to fatigue. the flash is a flash for picture mode, not a light like i thought but it is still a handy option. TWO downsides. night mode [is not good] because there is none. you can shoot in low light but the low light mode is only for low light, not no light. and the worst part about it is that it turns itself off the second you pan across light, so you have to keep turning it on when your in a low light room lit by a single light. the other down side is that the battery is recessed in the body of the camera which equates to a somewhat limited battery life. don't expect any upgrades either says the sharp rep i spoke with. so buy 2 or 3 spares. that's it. enjoy because i really do. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars The most expensive way to receive faxes I know of.
Pros:
Reasonably fast
Quiet
No jams

Cons:
Goes through ink at an astonishing rate and the tiny cartridges are $41.79 at the local office super store!

I bought this fax for my home office. It receives relatively light use, so you can imagine my shock when my wife informed me we had just used up our 3rd $40+ cartridge! That's over $120!! Great machine... Wish I could afford it.

1-0 out of 5 stars This thing will bleed you to death
The functionality of the fax machine is fine. It may be adequate for the very occasional user. However, I only get 150 to 200 page yield in the ink save mode. The replacement cartridges are outrageously expensive and you are forced to use OEMs. I've had this unit less than a year and have spent much more on carts than I did on the machine. This machine is headed for the garage sale. If someone offered you one for free, just say no.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great machine for the money
I've been using this machine for several months now and I'm quite pleased with it. I have yet to have a paper jam, even though I've placed more than the specified 20 pages in the send tray. The output is selectable as to quality (in order to save ink) and even the lowest quality printing is fine for everyday use. The machine has several nice attributes, fast 14,400 transmission speed (many small machines are slower), small footprint and intutitive controls. The instruction book is easy to read and follow, but the basic functions are so intuitive that you really don't need to use the book unless you're doing something out of the ordinary.

Contrary to another reviewer's comments, ink cost per page is only about 7 cents. That's a far cry from the 70-80 cents the other gentleman was claiming; perhaps he got his decimal place mixed up!

As with most inkjet machines, the ink cartridge supplied with the machine is only a "starter" cartridge and has limited capacity. Be sure to buy a replacement cartridge so you won't be left without.

This is my third home office fax and it's the best yet, surpassing a previous HP and a slower Sharp machine.

2-0 out of 5 stars costly ink and low yield
I bought this machine in july 2003 for home use. After 4 months and about 50 pages of printed fax, the ink is gone.

I contact Sharp regarding this problem but was told that the warranty is only for 15 days.

Based on my experience, it is an expensive machine to keep because it is costing me 70 to 80 cents per fax page.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good machine for small home business!
I have had this fax for over a month now, and have few complaints about it. I am working as a loan officer out of my house, and therefore I don't need a high volume fax machine. For the money, this is a great little machine!

It takes up very little space on my shelf, and it has an easy, intuitive usage set-up. It has the distinctive ring feature which allows me to not get a second phone line, and it has a very clear output. I can put 15-20 sheets into the feeder at a time, and I can load it up with plenty of paper.

The complaints are as follows: the paper seems to jam up somewhat more than I would have hoped, and after a piece of paper has been jammed in the machine (even if it just has a small crease in the bottom of the paper), you really can't use it again unless you flip it over. Also, even with an ink-save mode, it seems to go through ink fairly quickly, although I won't swear to it. Finally, I really don't like that Sharp doesn't have any ink refill kits for this machine, forcing you to buy their new, expensive ink cartridges (...). I hope that will be corrected in the future.

Otherwise, this machine certainly does the trick for the person who doesn't care about lots of bells and whistles. For the price, it's a great buy! ... Read more

For low-light situations, the camcorder can operate in slow shutter mode for slow-moving or stable objects and night lumi mode for bright objects at night.

More Features
The VL-Z5U features a 2.5-inch color LCD and a color viewfinder.

The camcorder comes with an 8 MB Secure Digital memory card, but is also compatible with MultiMedia Cards. You can easily take digital stills and import them onto a computer via the USB port.

2-0 out of 5 stars Problematic, poor warranty, poor warranty service
I purchased a new Sharp VLZ-5U in January. The camera is very ergonomically designed and relatively easy to use. Auto-focus is consistent, playback and record controls are well layed out, and overall image quality is reasonable. Low light image quality is very grainy, but this is common in many comparably cameras. Camera fades to white instead of black, which I can't stand, and you can't turn off.

My biggest gripe is that the camera developed a mechanical ticking sound during playback and record after about 4 months that is loud enough to record on the tape at an annoyingly high level. The sound depends strongly on what position the camera is held, but is unfortunately worst when held in the normal video shooting position. I tried different tapes, retensioning the tapes, and checked online for solutions, all to no avail.

I finally sent the camera to one of Sharp's recommended warranty centers (Sharp does not accept the cameras back directly, so you MUST use one of thier 3rd-party providers for warranty service) including a detailed description of the problem, only to find that Sharp's warranty is one year on parts but only 90 days on labor. They wanted $172.50 flat rate before even looking at the camera (even if the repair took only 5 minutes!), and they only warranty the repair for 90 days.

I also have reservations about servicing these cameras in non-factory conditions; I have this nagging feeling that once a camera like this needs major work it will never be the same...

Given the problem that this camera developed early on, the high and inflexible service costs, and unacceptably short warranty perion on both the original camera and rework, I am going to junk the VLZ-5U, give a vote of no confidence to Sharp camcorders, and buy a Canon or Sony.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Little Camera for the $$
I had a sharp viewcam before, the vlnz100 and it was the worst piece of electronics I have ever owned. After a year I couldnt take it anymore and called sharp corporate who helped me by sending me this new camera the VLZ5u. So far this camera has been great. Super small design which I love, takes good video, decent still pics. I use it along with my Apple iMac computer and the iMovie program to create great professional style movies. As one of the other reviews says, the camera is not on the official Apple list of supported cameras, but I have had no problem yet with it. All and all, a good buy!

3-0 out of 5 stars A nice camcorder, but a bit buggy at times...
This camcorder seems to work fairly well doing its main task (recording video), but mine seems to have a few bugs. I'm not sure if something is wrong with it or that's just the way it is. When trying to set options in the menu, the menu will sometimes disappear without warning. I've checked to make sure I'm not accidently hitting any button to make it disappear and so far it looks like it does it on its own. I've also had the unit say the memory card is full when trying to take a still image and the card has maybe 1MB of 8MB used when I plug it into the computer to download (also it says on the screen I have about 48 or so images worth of space left).
One thing that really annoys me right now is trying to get the DV (IEEE1394) port to work with my PC. When I plug the unit into my PC it doesn't detect the device in any way (doesn't show up under connected hardware). It also does the same thing on my Powerbook G4.
I called Sharp's tech support and the person I talked to said they don't support that port and wouldn't offer any other advice on it. I don't understand how you put a port on a device and don't support it. I later find out that this camcorder isn't on the list of supported camcorders for iMovies (the Mac software) right now and I can't find any support under Ulead's software either. So is there support for this port on this camcorder anywhere?

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Compact Camcorder with Useful features
After searching for a digital camcorder for the past month I decided that the Sharp VLZ5U was the best value for my money. While alot of the other camcorders focused on adding features such as nightshot or speacial effects I found the benefits of sharp's swivel grip and high clarity screen to be the most useful. I originally went to the electronics stores looking for the camcorder with the most features for the least price. I was happy that the saleman convienced me otherwise. Now that I have it I can't put it down, which makes happier that I bought one of the smaller units on the market. I would recomend this product to anyone who is looking for a mid-range camcorder.

5-0 out of 5 stars great camcorder within its class
I bought VL-Z5U model, and I am very pleased with its performance so far. It has cyristal clear LCD. Even in very low light conditions, it produces very quality videos. However, do not try to capture an image in total darkness because the camcorder does not have a nightshot feature for recording in total darkness. The gain-up feature for low light conditions works very well to brighten the objects. In very quiet environments, the camcorder does not record any disturbing motor noise. There is no need to say anything about the compact and stylish design. Comparing with other brands with the similar class such as sony, panasonic etc., the price is cheaper. The only drawback I found is its relatively shorter battery life. Since the battery snaps under the LCD, which makes the camcorder more compact, there is no possibility to use a bigger size battery with a higher capacity. However, an additional battery solves the problem easily. If you are searching for an camcorder with this price range, do not hesitate to go with Sharp. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for college students
I'm a pre-med student on a quarter schedule, which means I have a lot of science courses to fit in a very small time. The DAL calculator is great: the keys are not too large and not to small and all the functions are labeled clearly with no obscure menus, this makes it a handy tool for those timed tests that can make or break your grade. The only thing I can recommend is making several copies of those little conversion rate guides that slide right into the cover because it is too easy to lose them. Oh, and read the manual, it helps.

5-0 out of 5 stars A damn fine pocket calc.
All through high school, I used a TI-86 graphing calculator. Unfortunately, once I got to college I found out that Chemistry professors are none-too-fond of programmable calculators, so I had to buy a new one. After some deliberation between another TI, a Casio and this Sharp, I finally decided on the Sharp. Needless to say from my review, I'm glad I did. Here's why:

College is tough on equipment, so high build quality of a calculator is a must. I'm used to a TI-86 (which is built like a tank), so the extremely light EL-506v is quite a change. However, the build appears plenty solid. The calculator is gray on the front, with a dark blue back and a dark blue translucent cover which snaps on nicely. The buttons are translucent as well, with the number and main function keys dark blue and the secondary keys white (the on key is also pink, and the secondary function key is yellow). There are slightly fewer keys than on TI's comperable model, but every button has several contextual functions. The display is quite nice. There are two lines, a large numerical one where data is input (with a small section dedicated to exponential notation) and a smaller one on top which shows you the entire equation you're working on. The screen has great contrast, and is large enough to be easily read. The keys have little travel and feel slightly floaty, but nothing that would suggest cheapness.

The EL-506v claims to posess 330 functions, and I believe it. I count 37 keys (besides the d-pad, which allows you to edit your current equation or cycle through old ones), and all posess a 2nd-key function and most have a third contextual function. There are all the things one would expect from a scientific calculator, and some you wouldn't. Most notable are a whole series of 44 unit conversions (technically; though half are simply the same conversion the other direction). Everything's there: mass, volume, area and more. There's also 40 physical constants. Both of these abilities are accessed through pushing a key and entering a reference number for the conversion/constant you want; the ref. numbers are printed on a two-sided card held in the calc's slide cover. I'm very pleased with the abilities of this calc, many of which I thought were confined to the realm of graphing units. Also, one last interesting ability is the so-called "advanced DAL" (Direct Algebraic Logic) input method, which allows you to type in equations just as they appear in textbooks. This makes things much simpler, since you needn't learn all types of esoteric entry methods for complex equations.

So, the lesson is this: if you need a convenient, small, thorough pocket scientific calculator, pick up one of these. You won't likely regret it. ... Read more

Excellent television! The picture is beautiful and it was a breeze to set up. From box to counter and we were watching tv in 5 minutes. We purchased this tv specifically for use in our kitchen and its perfect for that use. Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Product
Its simply marvelous. I am not an LCD fan and Actually I have been very disappointed in the technology until I watched the 13inch screens and my faith was restored. When I saw that Aquos was in the 15" I snapped it up. Its sound quality is excellent great workmanship, the picture speaks for itself. I am thrilled with the performance as my CD/DVD player worked so well. and had the Good fortune of witnessing Josh Groban on PBS
belting out some wonderful music in stereo from those powerful little speakers it was like a concert hall. I am very pleased with the Sharp Aquos and the talent I was able to receive over it. Best to Josh Groban his talent is a very rare Gift from God.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for My Application
My Travel Trailer had a flip-up TV shelf in the Bedroom, but it stuck out of the wall so far when being used with a conventional 13" TV that
I kept hitting my head on it when I would make bed or up in the night.
The 15" Aquos is perfect and with mounting bracket I freed up my space. The Aquos TV has a wonderful picture and is the easiest
TV I have ever used. Would recommend this product for all, especially in RV applications or tight places.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great TV
It fits on a bookshelf - picture and sound are great - easy to set up. It was delivered in less than a week in perfect condition. No complaints.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good value
This TV works great in a kitchen or bedroom. Cool features like an AV in that can be switched to an AV out so sound can be run through the TV and then out to a stereo system. No problems with brightness even in front of a window. Has component video inputs but this TV does NOT support progressive scan (480p). I know because I tried it. The good news is that it doesn't seem to matter all that much. LC-20E1U has crisp, clean picture quality anyway. Sound quality is more than adequate for average television viewing. Annoying attribute: the stand tilts back at a minimum of about 12 degrees. Big plus: viewing angles, picture quality diminishes minimally (it is nearly unnoticeable) when viewed from an angle. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Inside Noise
I received this camcorder for Christmas. I have always had a noise coming from the inside of the camcorder. In the beginning the noise wasn't that noticeable. But over time the noise had gotten louder. I used the recommended cleaning tapes, but didn't seem to work. According to the manual, there's the possibility of the video head being worn. The repair will cost to much to fix. I have a friend with the same camcorder, and hers is broke also. The only difference between the two, is mine will still record, but the noise is louder, and hers won't record at all. There are a lot better choices than this camcorder.

Amazon.com Product Description

The space-saving Aquos LC-22SV2U is less than 3 inches deep, yet it produces a vivid 22-inch image using Sharp's proprietary Widescreen Advanced Super View LCD panel--the perfect dimension for viewing favorite movies in their widescreen aspect ratios. The 16:9 screen provides a higher contrast ratio and wider viewing angles than conventional LCD screens do, while its black TFT antiglare coating makes it bright enough to view its brilliant colors with ease, even in well-lit rooms. The set comes with an attractive, lightweight table stand.

An electronic PLL tuner handles over-air reception of TV programming, while component-video, composite-video, and S-video inputs accommodate DVD players, VCRs, camcorders, and gaming consoles. A single S-video output can feed a VCR or camcorder. For audio, a pair of two-way, three-driver speakers are powered by 2.5 watts each and provide clear mid and high frequencies, so you can enjoy live concert DVDs and other programs to the fullest. A left-right pair of analog audio outputs makes it easy to hook the monitor up to a receiver or integrated amplifier.

Weighing less than 8 pounds, the LC-22SV2U is easy to position and reposition. With the LC-22SV2U's NTSC, PAL, and SECAM compatibility, you can watch video sources from the U.S., Western Europe, and Eastern Europe, and all will appear properly formatted. The screen offers 854 x 480 (wide VGA) resolution. Optional wall-mounting brackets are not included. ... Read more
