3-0 out of 5 stars Good cooking but a few problems
I have been using this product for 2 years. The cooking results are good and food preparation is speedy. However the turntable motor is of very poor quality (weak plastic gears) so make sure to stay even below the listed food weight limit. I had to replace the motor in my oven (52 bucks if you find the part and do it yourself, otherwise about 140). Also the door and some other parts are not aligned properly. One other review I found on the Net had the same complains about this product quality, in particular the turntable motor was faulty and had to be replaced as well.

1-0 out of 5 stars Too large outside and too heavy for warranty service
I have the same unit in black, which is a little more expensive, just for the color. This unit is extremely heavy. It took two of us, and a chair with wheels, to move it 15 feet and get it onto the counter. I've had it one month and it stopped working. If I want in home service I have to pay. It has to be carried to a service center. It weighs more than my 32" TV. Sharp did give me the phone number of the only two service centers in my general area, one was Sears. But when I got it there, after talking to Sharp 4 times about service, Sears asked where my letter fro Sharp was, authorizing them to do the repair... aaahh.. letter?

Before it broke, it heated unevenly and isn't as powerful as the 1200 watt unit I gave away to have the combo micro / convection. It does't pop corn very well at all, but it does heat my coffee. What a mistake. The Sharp sales info line was every helpful BEFORE they had my money. Now that they have it, their attitude has completely changed. They have a very "business like" attitude and basically could care less. It's disappointing.

The unit is huge on the outside but not nearly as large on the inside as my old microwave oven which was so much smaller on the outside. I made a huge and costly mistake. If you have to have a convection oven, get one with a reasonable warranty for service for such a large, heavy appliance.

On the other hand, Amazon has been WONDERFUL! At least I did something right when I made this purchase! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Love It
I have had mine for over a year and love it and have it mounted it on the wall. I just wish I had gotten a larger one. <br /> LCD is not as clear as plasma but the price for plasma is double. My picture is Great and the sound is wonderful. It is easy to set up and you can take it anywhere.<br /> No complaints from me.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dont buy this!
You will regret buying this. its too overpriced and mine is lame. its fuzzy.

2-0 out of 5 stars mine's disappointing
I have the same tv in a slightly different size. The picture has a dark shadow down the middle. It's terribly annoying.

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW!!! BEST PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE!!!!
I just bought this thing from Amazon and all I can say is WOW!!!!

This is probably the best purchase I have ever made. This thing is everything I ever expected and more!! It's easy to use as well - even my wife can operate it!

I have to say, everyone out there who is thinking of buying this, stop thinking. I bought it and I am extremely happy with it the moment I powered this thing on. YOU ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS PURCHASE! I GUARANTEE IT!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice for the Price, But...
This TV has great sound and picture quality. I love how lightweight it is, and it's perfect for a tight space. The base allows you to adjust the vertical and horizontal angle, so you can angle the TV up & down depending on where you've got it in the room. My biggest complaint is the noisy power supply unit. It makes a consistent high-pitched ring tone when the TV is off. Sharp says this is common with all electronics, but I've never heard it this loud on any of my other equipment. Because the TV is in the bedroom, the ringing keeps me up at night. We've even had it replaced with no improvement, so now I have to unplug the TV every night. If you have sensitive ears, this TV may not be good for your bedroom. I've got a Sony 42" flatscreen downstairs that doesn't make this annoying noise at all. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

With active carbon filtration that helps remove odors and true HEPA filtration that traps particles as small as .3 microns, this air purification system reduces airborne impurities and is ideal for those who are sensitive to dust, allergens, pollen, and other impurities. The unit's clean mode emits positive and negative ions into the air via plasmacluster technology, while its ion-control mode emits additional negative ions, which is something nature does near waterfalls or just after a thunderstorm. The air purifier is recommended for rooms up to 129 square feet and has a CADR rating for dust 96, smoke 83, and pollen 94. When the air purifier detects odors and chemicals, it will automatically pick the fan speed that will help eliminate the odor. Manually, there are three fan speeds to chose from: silent, low, and high, as well as pollen mode. The unit features a convenient timer that can be set for one, four, or eight hours, and a full-function remote control and operation manual are included. The air purifier measures 16-1/2 by 16-5/8 by 5-15/16 inches and carries a one-year limited parts-and-labor warranty. --Catie Unger ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Synchronization Doesn't Work
This product proved to WASTE more time than provide a friendly time-saving fix. I realized that the device synchronized some of my appointments, but not all-day events like birthdates and anniversaries. I also realized that none of my Outlook address book contacts were synchronized. This device is a waste of money, for any customer. I received this item as a christmas gift. After realizing that a PDA was a great idea, I chose to purchase a HP iPAQ h1935 Pocket PC. It sells for 200.00 and is worth every penny. If you are a mobile phone user, I would recommend purchasing a Samsung i700 which combines a Pocket PC with digital camera and cellphone.

1-0 out of 5 stars Keep looking!!
I guess there's are reasons that other electronic organizers are twice the price as this one...FUNCTIONALITY and QUALITY! Two things this organizer is dreadfully lacking! I'll probably end up giving mine away as soon as I get a new one. The features are so cumbersome, it'll take you forever just to create an appt entry...and forget about trying to repeat the appt...no such option! The display is extremely difficult to see in normal romm light, but at least the backlight option is good in the dark. Next time, I'm not going to buy one of these without TRYING it first!

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible Synchonization
I actually really like the way this unit looks and operates. It had great potential to be exactly what I wanted and needed.
My main reason for purchasing this is that I have lots of meetings and appointments, and I'm not always in front of my computer with outlook running. I really need something that would synch up with outlook and give me reminders of all my appointments.
THIS ORGANIZER WILL IGNORE ALL RECURRING OR MULTI-DAY SHCEDULE EVENTS!!!!!!
I could not believe this shortcoming when I began using the unit. The majority of my meetings are recurring. I would have to go into outlook and change all my recurring appointmenst to one time events, and then copy them over and over....
The worst part of this is that Sharp has the knowledge needed. A freind of mine has a cheaper model with far less memory, and fewer features (Sharp YO-290 I think), but it synchs up with ALL the outlook shcedule events.
If Sharp had some sort of patch to fix this I would keep it.
But since they say in the ReadMe.txt file (which you only see after you've purchased and installed the software) that this unit will not display repeated schedule events, it sounds like they don't intend on providing a fix. So, my 590 is going back.

2-0 out of 5 stars Terrible Display
This product has terrible display quality. It is hard to view in a bright room and the resolution is disappointing at best. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good TV, not necessarily a good monitor
I've had my Sharp LL171MU for about a year. I bought it for it's picture-in-picture, it's selection of analog inputs, it's TV tuner, and it's sexy design.Unlike the previous reviewer, I haven't had any problems with a cracked base but I could see how it could happen because the stand is stiff and hard to adjust. The monitor does make a great portable TV in that it is much lighter than a comparable tube television and has a convenient handle. As a computer monitor it has it's flaws. It's image is no where near as sharp as the tube monitor it replaced or the 26" Samsung LCD monitor I later bought. The first thing I noticed after I hooked it up was the speed it would redraw the screen but more importantly I'm replacing this monitor as my primary computer monitor because of it's blurriness and poor contrast when displaying light text on a dark background.I typically have to make the text bigger in order to read it.If you're going to buy this monitor I recommend buying it as a TV first and a computer monitor second.Either that or save yourself the hassle and go for a different make.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Monitor. Very Poor Stand. Equally Poor Service.
This monitor is well spec'd and well priced.Besides lacking DVI input, VGA quality is pixel perfect. There are a slew of analog inputs to plug pretty much everything.Monitor itself feels solid and is attractive.Plastic screen protector is quite reflective.Otherwise, colours are vibrant and images are crisp.

Things that aren't mentioned anywhere in the specs is the ability to view TV in four different modes: Standard, Stretched, Zoom 1, Zoom 2.Basically, Zoom 1 & 2 crops the image before stretching it to fit the screen resulting in distortionless viewing of 4:3 sources. There are also a variety of advanced controls to tweak the sensitivity of your input if it doesn't properly detect the settings initially [I had to do this as my VGA was fuzzy at first but a little tweaking made it perfect].Picture in picture comes in two different sizes and there is freedom to move it wherever you want on screen.

Anyhow, a great monitor.Many positives.Now the negatives:

Monitor is heavy and plastic stand is poorly constructed.Upon using the product for two days, a crack developed at the stand -- particularly at the joint supporting the weight of the monitor and enabling it to tilt.Another crack started to appear at the opposite joint as well. This appears to be a design flaw as I cannot imagine such a stand being able to withstand the twisting motion whilst tilting and the weight of the monitor simultaneously for prolong period of time!Long story short, gave numerous calls to Sharp support [which stinks] and they are unwilling to replace the stand!Service was inconsistent and unprofessional. Each service representative presented a different story and way to handle the situation. One of which was rude and insisted that this was a cosmetic problem and therefore not covered by warranty. The crack is not a cosmetic problem as it directly affects the utility of the unit.It is not a scratch. The stand is unable to support the weight of the unit. The unit is unable to perform to specification. For this defensive and stubborn quality of their service, I would avoid Sharp products. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars So far, so good
I've had this item for about a month and I'm pretty happy with it. I haven't had the tray tipping problem that another reviewer mentioned but I don't use it for cooking anything large or intricate. I use the microwave mainly for thawing and reheating and it works like a charm. The toaster takes a little bit longer than a stand alone toaster but it toasts evenly and if you're not in a hurry, it's not a problem.
The top of the unit gets hot and a fan blows warm air from the back when the toaster is on I wouldn't put it in a tight space.

1-0 out of 5 stars Awful
This microwave/oven/toaster is great if you want to heat water for tea.

Otherwise, it takes about 13 minutes to adequately toast a single bagel.

The oven has 4 temperature settings ranging up to 400 degrees. If you want to bake at 425 degrees you are out of luck.

It looks pretty and the 3-in-one idea is great, but this unit is one to avoid.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dangerous turntable, poor quality overall
The turntable platter is only supported by a center spoke. There are no supports around the edge of the revolving platter. The platter tips and wobbles with all but the lightest items. I was cooking a large bowl of vegetables and when I tried to remove them, the turntable platter and the bowl of hot veggies tipped towards me, the platter itself slid forward out of the microwave, and I got burnt. For this reason alone it is a dangerous item. Also, the dial knob feels like its make out of cheap plastic and could break off without much force. The turning motion of the knob is rough. Spend more and get a better unit - that's my opinion. It's going back to Wal Mart.

4-0 out of 5 stars Attractive space saver, though slow to toast
In the aesthetics department this item is top notch for anyone going for a stainless steel look in their kitchen. Brushed steel on front, with a black glass window - black metal on sides. Surprisingly, this is more important that I would have thought.

It microwaves well, though at 650W. The controls are convienent, and fast - with a single "one minute" button to save time on reheats. Seems to cook very evenly.

A nice function is the ability to turn the sound off completely - ridding your home of one source of beeps and chirps.

The oven works well for cooking. The toaster works surprisingly well, but it takes close to 3 minutes for a slice of bread. In the toast department, I'd recommend a stand-alone drop-in style toaster.

You can combine cooking and microwaving in steps (thaw then cook, not both at once). ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Medical centres choice!
I pretty much bought this Plasma Purifier without hesitation for my new born baby nephew in Hong Kong, after hearing that some medical centres there have been using it as well. With the bad air pollution there and caring about the air he's going to be breathing in, I feel there is no better choice.

I personally have the much advertised Ionic breeze, and don't think it realy helps that much, although I still keep it on. Don't worry about changing the filter either, 5years is a very long time and putting one in is a breeze.

5-0 out of 5 stars SIMPLY AWESOME
I have severe allergies and have tried all of the air purifiers on the market with no luck. I decided to plunk down the $$ for this unit and kept my fingers crossed for any improvement with my allergies. Well, this is THE UNIT and I actually feel better. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Want the best? Get a Sharp Aquos
If you want the best HiDef LCD TV, get a Sharp Aquos. Depending on the feature set you need, that will dictate which model is best for you.

I chose this model because of the built-in HD tuner and CableCARD slot. (I hate cable boxes).

I have owned a few different plasma and LCD TVs over the past 3 years, looking for the best that would aleve my pain and frustration to find the best. And this is it.

In my almost (seemingly) endless search, I have tried Samsung, Sony, Panasonic and "generic" brands. None of them can compare to the feature set, picture quality and sound quality of ANY Sharp Aquos model.

Picture Quality: 10/10
At the highest resolution possible for todays HiDef TVs this Aquos delivers way above standard in the departments of black levels, brightness levels and response times. Especially with over-the-air local HD channles. Nothing can get better. Not even Comcast's DVR HD box using DVI, HDMI and component outputs. But these input type still look great. I have tested them all. But over-the-air - mind blowing and I am using a simple old-fashioned "rabbit eared" antenna. The signal is pefect.

Sound Quality 10/10
What? Is there a subwoofer in there? No. But sub-sonically speaking - one would think there is. The first time I heard this set I was blown away. Then I found out that JBL supplied the speaker drivers for this set and Sharp went so far as to build in speakers casings with bass ports on them. I was very impressed (and I work in a recording studio where speaker monitors cost upwards of $3000. And this TVs audio delivered big time. These drivers are ncie. Almost too nice (late at night).

Feature Set: 10/10
And here is why. It is almost perfect. But better then all of the other brand can offer in terms of input selection. CableCARD is the way to go if you do not care about DVR for viewinf digital cable and non-local HDTV channels. There are 2 iLink ports on the set to connect an HDD, Blu-Ray or D-VHS deck - just as good as DVR (and no service required). There are more inputs than anyone would need. The TV Guide option is better than Comcast's EPG. It looks better to. Way easier to navigate as well. HDMI for DVD - WOW! DVI for PC - Now this is what I'm talking about. Xbox on component - 4-real. DOOM3 is very nice.

With this Sharp Aquos, my search for visual multi-media entertainment bliss is over. Do not waste your time, money or frustration. Get an Aquos. It's a little more then the rest, but you get what you pay for. Do not cut any corners. I know if you are looking for a hi-end TV then you are serious about quality. Do NOT get one of those crappy Olevia, Mintek or sub-$1000 TVs - you will hate yourself. Even if you have to sacrifice size for price.

The TV I had before this was a Samsung SPN4235 42" plasma TV. So I sacrificed price for size. Am I sorry - NO WAY. 26" is a decent size. Not movie theater but very acceptable. If you are used to a 20" analog tube TV, a 26" will look HUGE.

Get a Sharp otherwise you WILL be disapointed.

Thank you Sharp, my search and aggrivation is over. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

With a dark-tinted picture tube and sleek silver cabinet, this 25-inch Sharp TV delivers crisp video for movies, games, and broadcast programming while also adding a touch of style to the living room or den. The picture tube ensures high contrast and precise outlines, so viewers don't have to strain when viewing images on the screen. In addition, the TV's color temperature correction function adjusts for the light sources in a room, cooling the colors when it's too bright and warming them when it's noticeably dim. The model is easy to set up and use thanks to the auto channel programming, which instinctively identifies all the compatible channels for quick viewing. The TV also offers up to 16 favorite channel presets, so users can surf their favorites exclusively.

Additional features include a trilingual onscreen menu, an energy saver function that reduces power consumption, and a universal remote that controls a TV, DVD player, VCR, and most cable boxes. Parents will appreciate the V-chip and viewing timer, both of which help manage their children's viewing habits. The V-chip blocks mature or questionable programming based on its predetermined ratings, while the viewing timer invites parents to decide how much TV their kids should watch each day (in 30-minute intervals). The model also includes a special closed captioning feature that plays captions each time the viewer mutes the TV, letting users appreciate the text in silence.

The 25-C340 plays audio soundtracks on its 3-watt speaker system (1.5 watts x 2), which features MTS stereo decoding. It also receives secondary audio broadcasts (typically in a second language) when available. Use the rear S-video input to connect to DVD players and other high-quality video sources, and the front and rear composite inputs to connect to video game consoles, camcorders, VCRs, and other components.

Amazon.com Product Description

The Sharp 32-C240 32-inch television has a high-focus, dark-tint picture tube and inputs for DVD players, VCRs, game consoles, or camcorders. Its two-line digital comb filter separates the color signal from the black-and-white signal to reduce noise and artifacts, resulting in higher picture quality. With MTS (multichannel TV sound) stereo and SAP (second audio program), the 32-C240 can receive and decode stereo and SAP wherever they are available.

The EZ Setup feature is activated the first time the television is turned on, and will automatically prompt you to attach the cable or antenna and start the initial channel setup with the touch of a button. The built-in V-Chip is an electronic blocking device that lets parents control the programming to prevent children from viewing questionable programs. Using the onscreen display and ratings system, you can screen programs according to age and content.

1-0 out of 5 stars Stopped working, unreasonable carry in warranty

5-0 out of 5 stars This is nice!!!
After much researching, I purchased this combination unit about 6 weeks ago. I cook small amounts, use frozen foods much of the time, and disliked having to heat the large oven for this. The dual function rocks, and so far, the unit has met my expectations 100%: the 900 watt microwave is faster than my old 600 watt; the convection is about 25% faster than my regular gas oven; and it browns and makes things crispy just like the regular oven. So cool!!!!

I haven't tried "real" cooking, like roasting meats or baking, but I don't doubt that it would perform just fine.

It is big, and that is ok with me. If I need to do larger amounts, there is plenty of room. There are two round racks, one for broiling and one for baking, which are removed when using the microwave. One curious thing is that the instructions say that when popping microwave popcorn to put the bag on top of an overturned glass pie plate or dish. They do mean this!! I tried just putting the bag on the turntable and about 10 kernals popped in 4 minutes!!! When I did as they instructed, it popped just fine. Also, since this is counter-top level and the door swings out, it is much more convenient to use than the regular oven.

So far I have no complaints. The free shipping from Amazon was great and it got to me in just a few days. I haven't needed to contact Sharp for customer service so can't comment on that.

One final note: I suspect that I won't be using my gas oven again. If not for the burners on top, I'd probably not need the range at all. ... Read more

The footprint may be small, but the LC-13S1U-B is outfitted with a big-time feature set. The package starts with the 13-inch active matrix LCD screen, which is bright (430 cd/m2), crisp (500:1 contrast ratio), and impressively resolute (480 x 640 pixel resolution) for such a small TV. The AQUOS LCD engine is an added bonus, as it's engineered to display the same vivid pictures in both dark and bright locations, such as near windows, doors, and other light sources. The TV also features wide 170-degree viewing angles--so viewers can watch TV from virtually anywhere in the bedroom, office, or kitchen--along with progressive-scan compatibility, which lets owners of modern DVD players enjoy 480p images in full clarity.

The TV comes with an easel-type stand that's a mere 6 inches deep for space-limited settings. Users who want to save even more space can remove the stand and mount the monitor on a wall (brackets sold separately). Additional features include a built-in 181-channel tuner, a sleep timer, V-chip parental control, and a trilingual onscreen menu. The monitor's audio package is also solid, with a pair of 2.1-watt speakers, MTS stereo decoding, and the ability to play secondary audio broadcasts when available.

The model connects to other audio/video devices through the component video input (ideal for DVD players and satellite dishes), S-video input, and two composite inputs. The LCD TV is also Energy Star compliant.

Amazon.com Product Description

Even where your space is limited, there's always room for a little fun. A member of Sharp's acclaimed AQUOS line, Sharp's 13-inch LC-13B6U-S LCD TV provides an ideal means for enjoying TV, DVDs, and/or videocassettes in the kitchen, bedroom, or dorm room. The monitor includes a built-in 181-channel cable tuner--feed it a cable-TV signal and you've got a high-resolution video display and a full-fledged television.

For a screen, the set uses Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View LCD panel. Its 4:3 aspect ratio is perfectly suited to most broadcast TV programs. This is an EDTV monitor, which means it's a step closer to high-definition or HDTV than standard TVs. When used with a progressive-scan DVD player (or 480p-output DTV set-top box) you'll get seamless, razor-sharp images from your favorite movies and concert videos. The set gives you a higher contrast ratio and wider viewing angles than conventional LCD screens--500:1 and a full 170 degrees viewing angle, vertical and horizontal--while its black TFT antiglare coating makes it bright enough to view its rich colors with ease, even in well-lit rooms.

LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch "flyback" noise, an issue with CRT TVs), accurate image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), long screen life (with no risk of image burn-in), space savings, light weight/easy positioning, and energy efficiency (most LCDs use substantially less power than their CRT equivalents). They also tend to be cheaper and, to some eyes, slightly more natural looking than their plasma flat-panel counterparts, which usually "spec" higher (higher brightness, higher contrast ratio).

Weighing in at under 10 pounds, the LC-13B6U-S is easy to position and reposition. The unit sits comfortably on any flat surface with the included stand, which detaches for wall mounting (with any compatible mounting kit, none included).

Component- and composite-video inputs accommodate everything from DVD players to VCRs, camcorders, and gaming consoles, and the set's stereo speakers are powered by 2.1 watts per channel. With the LC-13B6U-S's NTSC, PAL, and SECAM compatibility, you can view video sources from the U.S., Western Europe, and Eastern Europe, and all will appear properly formatted, provided you have the proper region decoding for any DVD sources. The screen offers 640 x 480 (VGA) resolution.

Other features include auto clock, which automatically sets the TV's time clock for display on demand, a remote control, SAP (second audio program, for listening to alternate language tracks on select cable broadcasts), and V-Chip parental control (which lets you block TV content based on content ratings).
