3-0 out of 5 stars New User Of This Product
I have only had this product for 2 weeks and I am somewhat new to DVD player/recorders. So, take my comments with a grain of salt.

The remote control will work with various TV brands when you program your TV brand code into it. But, it seems to "forget" the code after only a few minutes. You end up needing to re-program your TV brand code into the remote over and over agiain for the remote to work on your TV.

Other than that everything seems to work ok. The picture quality after recoring from a VHS tape is good and actually appears a bit cleaner than the original tape.

The directions are somewhat lengthy and the unit takes a few moments to "load" before you can operate it. That can be frustrating for those of us in a constant hurry.

All and all I'd say the unit is average to better than average considering the price point. ... Read more

Early Adopters Pick: May 2003 Samsung's LTN406W is the world's largest LCD TV.

Samsung's 40-inch high-resolution widescreen LCD television is not only a gigantic LCD screen TV, it's also the answer to all your home entertainment needs, from its PC, DVD, and DTV inputs to its built-in NTSC tuner and integrated stereo speakers with 10 watts power each. At less than three inches deep, the set is nothing if not easy to place, its slim profile lending its massive screen width to even small rooms.

The LTN406W is a TFT active-matrix HDTV monitor with 1,280 x 768 resolution. TFT (Thin Film Technology) gives every pixel its own identity, so they can rapidly switch shades while maintaining some of the best brightness and contrast levels available. Image quality is enhanced by a 3D digital comb filter, an extremely high (600:1) contrast ratio, an exceptional peak brightness of 500 candles/square meter, and wide (170 x 170-degrees) viewing angles. Samsung also includes its proprietary video-enhancment technology, Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe). DNIe performs 3-D noise reduction and detail and contrast enhancement for all interlaced (non-HD) sources. Throw in 60,000-hour lamp life for years of use and PC and multi-channel picture-in-picture with split-screen capabilities, and you're looking at a sweet little--make that sweet big--set.

Connections include one S-video input, one composite-video input, an RF input (for older VCRs and cable boxes), and two component-video inputs (one progressive-scan DVD-oriented 480i video input, one DTV-ready 480p/720p/1080i input), as well as a DVI input (with HDCP content protection) for a PC. A headphone jack affords private listening, and Virtual Dolby surround sound simulates surround sound from any two speakers. The set includes wall and ceiling mounting hardware.

More about DNIe
The Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) can take a signal from any kind of source--not just conventional or high-definition digital broadcasting, but even DVD, Camcorder, PC and games--and turn it into a stunning picture on any kind of screen. The input signal passes through a series of four advanced processes that form the core of the DNIe technology.

The first of these processes, the Motion Optimizer, is responsible for noise reduction. the visual data are automatically broken down into signal and noise and analyzed through a combined spatial/temporal process. DNIe‘s noise reduction technology permits a startling level of sharpness even in minute details and rapidly changing scenes. Unlike conventional noise reduction methods, the Motion Optimizer combines a motion adaptive temporal filter, which detects and reduces noise in the temporal space between successive frames, with spatial noise reduction applied to the two-dimensional image space.

After passing through the Motion Optimizer, the visual signal is sent to the Contrast Enhancer. This process automatically adjusts contrast and brightness to natural levels, producing an extraordinarily rich and vivid picture. In scenes of motion or rapid change,a separate contrast value should ideally be set for each visual signal, but this presents great technological difficulties. DNIe’s Contrast Enhancer process has overcome these difficulties by applying over 1 million criteria for contrast and automatically determining the optimum contrast level for any kind of visual data. The Contrast Enhancer can also analyze up to 70,000 local images within a frame to preserve contrast in the smallest details without affecting overall color or brightness.

The next step in the signal's journey from input to high-quality output is the Detail Enhancer. DNIe's Detail Enhancer uses its own specially developed technology to dramatically improve sharpness just where it matters. The slightly unnatural appearance that results from conventional uniform detail enhancement is re-detected and re-adjusted to produce a strikingly sharp and convincing image. Conventional detail enhancement is based on the artificial amplification of the input signal, but this inevitably produces small areas of noise boost-up and flicker.

The final process undergone by the input signal is the Color Optimizer. For each scene, the Color Optimizer analyzes the hues of the input signal to determine and preserve the overall level of brightness. The colors are adjusted and improved, without unnatural intensification, to give vivid tones corresponding to the living shades of nature. By calculating the color saturation of red, green, and blue in each scene, the colors are optimized to the shades that the human eye accepts as natural.

4-0 out of 5 stars I bought One After Looking many Times
I have been going to my local electroncs store many times and looked at all the laser printers on the display. I had see this model on sale/off sale and with a rebate ect... I almost bought it a few times after demo-ing it at the store.. Finally I just Put It In My Cart and took it home. I Dont think it was a mistake at all... I would recomend it...

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice printer for a PC user
It is huge it is heavy and you could turn the cardboard box into a new family room if you wanted. It is also quiet, faitly quick and the output looks very good. When printing post-script or word files the output is very crisp and clear, sharp enough to merrit the 1200dpi label, even serif fonts at tiny point sizes are clear. When printing images (black and white and color) of web pages and photos, the output is somewhat fuzzy, with clearly visible halftoning. Still, for spot color or printing color graphs and presentations the quality is quite good. For Mac users, you need to know that the Driver for os X is very basic, it does not support the built in duplexer, or some other features that the pc driver supports. Also as has been reported on some Mac (mac-in touch) news sites, future support for the Mac may be eliminated. Bad decision as far as I am concerned. ... Read more

While not known for making camcorders, Samsung has released a highly capable model in the SCD67. The digital model has a potent 22x optical zoom paired with a digital image stabilization system. Toss in a 2.5-inch LCD and assorted other features, and you have a winner.

The 22x optical zoom of the SCD67 is much more than adequate--many cameras top out at 10x--and enables the videographer to shoot footage from just about any vantage point. The lens is paired with digital image stabilization. This technology essentially reduces the amount of information used by the image sensor, effectively creating a buffer zone that removes the minimal shaking that is associated with high zoom levels.

Aside from the 2.5-inch LCD, the SCD67 also includes intelligent backlight compensation, which means the camcorder will adjust if you're shooting subjects with a light source shining behind them. It's not a cure-all--it's never a good idea to shoot into the sun--but it'll help when filming stage performances and similar situations. The kit contains a lithium-ion battery, AC adapter-charger, AV cable, and instructions. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Lowest Priced Mini DV Camcorder Ain't Half Bad!
I produced a local cable access TV show and was looking for the lowest priced Mini-DV camcorder possible. I was lucky enough to be able to borrow a Canon GL-1 from the TV station but I wanted my own camera. So, I looked and looked and finally found the best quality camera, with the best features at the best price (sub $300) right here on Amazon! It's been a year since I bought it and I STILL haven't fully utilized all it's capabilities. Partially because I can edit tape on my firewire equipped Mac w/iMovie 2 and thus don't need any of the in-camera editing features. The other reason I haven't used all the SCD-67's features is because it's SO CONVENIENT to simply point and shoot and ALWAYS record pretty decent images. My images will get even better once I start using the camera's features! It's not a sophisticated 3 ccd camera, but it's easy to use, you can grow with it, it's very reliable if you don't abuse it, and unlike some much more expensive cameras, the tape eject opens from the top THE WAY IT SHOULD! Oh, and what other camcorder offers a 22X OPTICAL ZOOM??? I drool over the GL-2, XL-1s and the others, but my Samsung SCD-67 is gonna be with me for a long time, I'm happy to say. The MAJOR drawback is the lack of a headphone jack, which means your audio quality will remain a question mark until you get back to the editing bay. One way around that is an add on Beachtech adaptor or the use of an audio mixer which has a headphone jack. Great little cam!

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't listen to the other reviews
This camera seems to be receiving a lot of bad press. Let *me* set the record straight. This is a good camcorder. The average user won't be able to tell the difference between this and your typical JVC-style mini-DV camcorder. The "noise" referred to in other reviews is the auto-focus. It seems that in this camcorder it's particularly sensitive and constantly adjusts itself. The solution is just to turn it off. This sounds crazy, but the picture stays focussed unless you do a full 22X zoom (in which case you can manually focus it with your thumb on the roller wheel). Full Zoom is almost useless on ANY non-pro camcorder anyway because the picture will shake like heck from your hand moving. For [the money]this camera can't be beat. The battery is also quite decent and lasts for over an hour which is fine for most home users. The camera is also quite small (about 2 sizes smaller than the average Sony Hi8). Overall, great buy.

I have to say my Samsung SCD-67 Mini DV camcorder DOES WORK WITH FIREWIRE AND MAC. I've been editing my tapes on Mac from day one and haven't had a problem. "Blue Dalmation" iMac 500mhz/20Gig HD, OS 9.1 & iMovie 2.

1-0 out of 5 stars do not buy this camera
this camera is not compatible with a mac. it says it is on their website and in their owner's manual, but once it is at home, it won't work. i have contacted samsung three times, and have had little or no help. a manager was supposed to call me back (this after I had sent the camera off to be worked on) but i still have not heard from anyone. and that's been over two months. i am tired of trying. this camera is ok at filming, but does not work when trying to edit on a mac. save your money and buy another brand!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good camera for a low price.
If you want professional looking video, than this camera IS NOT for you. The people who are writing all the negative reviews are trying to use an entry-level camera for elaborate filming. This camera is not made for that. If you just want a basic, easy to use, camcorder for simple home movies, this is the camcorder to get. It's very affordable and does a good job. I have had no major problems with this model. There is some minor noise when you zoom in/out. I have had no problem recording audio. The date/time stamp does not automatically reset. Only resets if you let the battery run out completely. Battery life could be better(lasts about 1 hour on full charge). But you can get a better battery at Radio Shack. This is a solid camcorder at a good price. You can use it with most software programs like Premiere, After Effects, etc. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great overall printer for the price
We've been using the ML-1430 for three months now and absolutely love it. It's a great overall printer, excellent print quality even in Toner Saver mode (slightly lighter than regular mode). The toner drum supplied with the printer lasts about 1000 pages or so - even with the Toner Saver mode turned on.
This is hooked up to work with three PC's on a wireless network. (XP, Win98, Win2K). Setup was straightforward. All drivers, manuals etc are available on

Issues: The buffer is small - 8 MB and is not upgradeable. Poses a problem while printing large pdf documents - takes a while to spool to the printer.
No duplex printing!
Labels and envelopes can be a challenge with this printer. Envelopes sometimes get stuck.
Overall: Great little laser printer for home office use. Small footprint, fairly quiet operation, great print quality, economical - about 3 c a page. Would not hesitate recommending this outstanding printer.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Perfect Budget Machine
For my personal use, I have always relied on inkjets--at least since the time of the dot matrix passed into history. The quality of the output is reasonably good for virtually all my personal requirements. I decided to change and shopped around for a laser printer because I was upgrading my photo printer (to the marvelous Canon i950) and realized that a dedicated text printer would be a good idea.

The Samsung ML-1430 emerged as the front-runner because of initial price, cost-per-page, and quality of output.

It has delivered in every area. Setup is virtually automatic on my XP Home machine. After it warms up and does its little adjustments, it zaps out beautiful text at a cost of under 3 cents/page even at the standard setting. (There is a toner-saver option.)

Cons: The paper is output to present the back of the pages. Seeing what looks like a blank sheet emerge takes some getting use to. But how bad is that for an inexpensive, efficient, good-looking printer?

Recommended strongly.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great Buy But Suspect Quality Control
I liked the first one of these so much I got a second one. The first one has given me no problems at all. It set up with ease, worked well with both parallel and USB hookups (I was switching between two computers), prints quickly (although the wait for the first page is a tad long), and has excellent print quality.

So, given the cheap price, I bought the second one because switching was inconvenient. It performs just as well as the first, EXCEPT it jams. A lot. Maybe every 25 pages, on average, if I use the top output. It doesn't jam much using the front/bottom output, but then the printed sheets fall on the floor. (I don't have room enough to set the printer back). The first one almost never jams either way. The second one also makes considerably more noise than the first.

I'd give the first one 5 stars, and the second 1 star, so I've split the difference. If I'd figured out the problem with the second one quick enough, I'd have exchanged it. I don't know how common problems are, but I'm suspicious of Samsung's quality control.

Incidentally, I had no problem removing the stupid stickers cleanly on either printer. Maybe Samsung has used different adhesives on other batches.

5-0 out of 5 stars 1.5+ years and going strong
I have abused this printer for about 1.5+ years. It is connected to a router to enable sharing on my home office LAN, and it keeps cranking away.

Great value for the money. Sharp printouts in the 600dpi mode. I like the overall lower cost per page of a laser printer, and the fact that the 'ink' doesn't run dry unlike inkjet cartridges.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cheap and good!
I bought this a year ago and it has been working nicely since then. I don't use the printer much and that's why I decided to buy a laser over ink (ink printers dry up even if you don't use them). I have heard the toner is expensive but I guess if one is a casual user, it becomes much cheaper compared to ink printers. What I like is that you can control the normal/ink saving mode from the top of the machine and do not need to adjust it through the software. I use an HP printer at work and it is always automatically set on the highest quality (=using more ink). If you want to save the toner on the HP, you need to pick the toner-saving mode every time you print, whereas on the Samsung you do it once and it is alway the way you want it. I have had this machine on the ink-saving mode and the printquality is just as good.

I have two computers, a mac (OSX) and a PC (XP). It is slow on the mac but quite fast on PC. I guess it has to do with the driver setting.

The printer sounds some upon starting but becomes much more quite after a couple of minutes. The sound doesn't bother me, though. ... Read more

Big pictures no longer have to rest on big footprints, a fact exemplified by the 30-inch DynaFlat HD TXN3075. And the television is not only space-efficient, but well made: Samsung's proprietary DynaFlat technology provides a perfectly flat viewing image that has none of the curvature, image distortion, or glare associated with traditional screens.

Pro Chip NTSC-to-progressive-scan conversion improves typical (interlaced) TV viewing by combining odd and even scan lines, presenting flicker-free images, much like those found on today's better computer monitors. The picture becomes crisp from edge-to-edge, due in part to a 3D Y/C comb filter and velocity-scan modulation circuitry, which also maintains corner focus. If you want to watch Hollywood films at home on DVD, 3:2 pulldown is indispensable. The difference between film and video frame speeds causes slight blurring, stuttering, and other motion artifacts, especially during fast-action sequences. 3:2 pulldown corrects these anomalies so you can experience a smooth picture much closer to that of the original film.

In Samsung's DynaFlat HDTVs, the overall resolution is higher than earlier-generation sets because the individual phosphor color spots (pixels) are smaller and closer together. Its multiple-focus electron gun is capable of illuminating finer spots to achieve a much more detailed picture.

A DVD presented in progressive scan and/or HDTV content can be connected through either of two sets of auto-sensing wideband component-video inputs, and three rear-panel audio/video inputs (one with S-video) and a set of side AV inputs are also available. A pair of two-way, side-firing speakers with 15 watts per channel rounds out the set. ... Read more

  • 30-inch DynaFlat screen provides crisp, clean images; TV is 35.4 x 23.1 x 22 inches (W x H x D)
  • 2 sets of auto-sensing 1080i/480p/480i component-video inputs, 3 rear AV inputs, 1 side AV input
  • DynaFlat HD CRT screen reduces reflections and glare; multiple-focus electron gun improves picture resolution and brightness
  • Pro-Chip Plus de-interlacing progressive scanning enhances standard (interlaced) video sources
  • 15 watts per channel with 2-way, side-firing speakers; includes equalization and audio presets

1-0 out of 5 stars A Stinker, Pure and Simple.
This is my first review on Amazon, although I have been referring to them for years. After going through the pains of purchasing, then returning this television, this is my act of altruism towards you, my anonymous friend. Does it really deserve only one star? No, that was just to get your attention. So then... this TV did have a few pros:
1. Clean design, especially the front.
2. It makes a cool "Mario Brothers" sound effect when you turn it off or on.
3. When a progressive-scan DVD player is hooked up to it with component cables, the picture is dyn-o-mite.
4. That's about it.
Now for the cons:
1. You may have seen references to the 'purple line' on the screen... it is true, especially when viewing movies in a darkened room. You can't ignore it... it's about 3-4 wide, it migrates, sometimes there are even two of them. Reason enough to return it right there.
2. 4:3 viewing mode. A lot of options to choose from, and they all suck.
3. X-Box compatability. I'm not a very technically-savvy guy, but I can hook things up... I never was able to get a satisfactory image, even with the X-Box High-Definition pack.
I nearly ruptured myself getting this thing back to Circuit City, where I exchanged it for the infinitely superior Sony 30" FD Trinitron® WEGA® HDTV Monitor (Brand/Model: SON KV30HS420). To paraphrase Ferris Bueller, it's so choice, I highly recommended it. And it was exactly the same price! Now, I implore you - go forth armed with this knowledge and the world will be your oyster.

4-0 out of 5 stars Check your connections and cables
I'm not sure if anyone responded to Martin Crull's comments about this set having a blurry picture from a progressive scan DVD player. He wrote he hoped he wasn't doing anything wrong. Well it seems he was. He wrote that he used composite video cables. Wrong. Use good quality COMPONENT video cables from the component (or progressive) DVD output to the TV's component input. Make sure the DVD player is set to progressive output, AND for a 16x9 set. With a few picture setting tweaks, you should have an exceptional picture.

I would be extremely careful buying a large screen TV from They have a no return policy on TV's larger than 27" that I was not made aware of upon purchase of the product. I received the television and realized after I had signed for delivery that there was some cosmetic damage to the TV's cabinet. I contacted the next day (which you can not do by phone; only e-mail) and was then alerted to this policy. They refused to provide me with a replacement TV.

The customer service was less than impressive and I would recommend buying this product from Circuit City or some other company that will guarantee the product and provide reasonable customer service. If you insist on purchasing from, I recommend you inspect the set thoroughly before signing for delivery. This is important b/c it is your only chance to refuse the product and will not make you aware of this.

All that said, it is a great HDTV monitor for the price point. It is a good anchor to a starter home theater setup. It displays progressive scan and HDTV signals very well. One thing to consider is that the set does not allow you to scale the aspect ratio for any of the HDTV inputs as many Sony sets do. This means that a full screen DVD will be stretched by the TV.

I would recommend this set for anyone looking to enter the world of HDTV at the sub $1000 price point. However, I would strongly urge you to consider buying from a electronics only dealer such as Best Buy, Circuit City, or Tweeter as can not match their level of customer service in this arena.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beware negative reviews--this is nice set.
This is a great value--especially if purchased from Amazon at its low sale price. The picture is absolutely fabulous in HDTV mode. Even non-HDTV programs look better than the very nice (non-HDTV) Sony I had. I did not notice any deterioration in the corners as others have reported. Also, the aspect ratio is easy to change according to one's taste. The sound is better than most TVs that do not have built-in theater sound.

3-0 out of 5 stars I hope I am doing something wrong
I wanted a wide screen monitor that I could use to watch DVD's. I hooked this monitor up to a progressive scan DVD player (the Toshiba, SD-43HT), using composite video cables I got from Radio Shack. The picture seems blurry in progressive scan mode (even with sharpness cranked up). I keep wanted to adjust the focus, just a tiny bit. I find myself switching off progressive mode to get a sharper image, even though it seems granier. I hope I am doing something wrong. ... Read more

Here to unify your movie viewing and your enjoyment of your digital media is Samsung's DVD-P341, whose high-end video capabilities and multiformat flash memory ports recommend it for tech-savvy consumers. The player offers progressive-scan component-video outputs, built-in MP3 decoding for your home-brewed CD compilations, and even compatibility with JPEG image CDs and Kodak Picture CDs. Now, quite nearly regardless of media format, you can enjoy a slideshow of your digital pictures right on your television.

Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the DVD-P341 stands ready to deliver the full potential of your DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.

The DVD-P341 also performs 3:2 pulldown. DVD mastering introduces a common distortion when adjusting 24-frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video; 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this distortion, removing the redundant information to display a film-frame-accurate picture. Another handy feature is the player's EZ View letterbox eliminator, which lets you enjoy full-screen pictures on 4:3 aspect-ratio TVs--even when you're watching widescreen DVDs.

A set of left/right analog-audio outputs channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's digital-audio output for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver. Composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Player!!
This is a very nice dvd player, and Im very happy with the quality, and features. The only problem with this DVD player is that it wont play VCD's or SACD's. Some people say that you have to use CD-RW and Not just CD-R disks for it to play VCD's but I have yet to try that. Just about every dvd player will play VCD (even a 2 yr old apex dvd player)except this one. Thats the only downside to this player. The memory card reader works superb and the menu is chocked full of options. And with progressive scan on and 5.1ch enabled it is awesome. I would definitely recommend this player to anyone who wants a extremely good DVD player with enough features to please almost everyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars !!!!!!!!Super Duper Spectacular!!!!!!!!
At first when I got this I just thought it was alright and then I got in the menu of the actual DVD player. The options are endless. I went into setup and change the format from 16:9 to the regular 4:3, and then I was amazed. The EZ view option is by far the coolest. It allows you to change the view of a widescreen DVD to fullscreen which is really freaking awesome. Also the memory card reader allows you to watch movies that you have recorded with your digital camera. Overall this is the best DVD player and I recommend it to anyone. ... Read more

180. Samsung LT-P468W 46" HDTV-Ready LCD TV

Manufacturer: Samsung
Sales Rank: 29229

Absolutely bursting with inputs and cutting-edge features, Samsung's versatile, big-screen LT-P468W is a videophile's dream TV. As of fall 2004, the LT-P468W was the world's largest consumer LCD TV. Crisp and clear from corner to corner, the 46-inch set was also the first consumer flat-panel TV to boast a 1,920 x 1,080p native resolution, the highest of the 18 ATSC formats.

Further, the LT-P468W features Samsung's latest-generation DNIe (Digital Natural Image engine) picture-enhancement circuitry, delivering improved contrast, detail, color, and video motion optimization. While 1,080p (1,080 lines, progressively scanned) is the format the broadcast industry is moving toward with more and more programming appearing every day, the set's internal high-quality scaler can handle any video input format and display the signal in the set's native high resolution.

Its impressive 800:1 contrast ratio makes it capable of rendering extremely deep blacks, and its high brightness (500 cd/m2) produces bright, vivid images even in bright rooms. And, with its industry-leading 12-millisecond pixel-response time, the LT-P468W is nothing if not ready to handle the fastest-moving video sequences, from video games to action films. Horizontal and vertical viewing angles each extend up to 170 degrees, making sure everyone has the best seat in the room.

LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch "flyback" noise, an issue with CRT TVs), accurate image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), long screen life (with no risk of image burn-in), space savings, and light weight/easy positioning. (Perched atop its round swivel base, the set weighs in at less than 100 pounds.) LCDs also tend to be cheaper and, to some eyes, slightly more natural looking than their plasma flat-panel counterparts, which usually "spec" higher (higher brightness, higher contrast ratio).

The LT-P468W accepts standard-definition 480i inputs, enhanced-definition 480p signals, and full high-definition 720p and 1080i/p. The set connects to a personal computer through its RGB (15-pin D-Sub) input, letting you surf the Web, check e-mail, or play QuickTime movies right on your television. Use the split-screen/PC PIP option to view multiple sources simultaneously.

To connect the monitor to devices such as DTV set-top boxes, satellite receivers, DVD players, game consoles, or camcorders, use either of the set's digital-video inputs--DVI (Digital Visual Interface) or HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface)--for a direct digital connection, or take advantage of its dual high-definition component-video inputs.Other inputs consist of 2 each composite- and S-video inputs, 1 RF input, and the above-mentioned PC input, each with its attendant audio jacks.

Other outstanding features include a sleek cabinet housing armed with impressive stereo speakers from JBL powered by 15 watts per channel (x 2); the latest SRS TruSurround XT technology (for exciting stereo and bass enhancements and a simulated surround experience); sleep and on timers; V-Chip parental control; closed captioning; and an auto volume leveler to minimize jarring level differences between, say, programs and their commercials.

The DVI-HDTV interface (with HDCP copy protection) enables an all-digital rendering of video without the losses associated with an analog interface. DVI supports up to 24-bit digital RGB data for each pixel.

Like DVI, HDMI is a lossless, uncompressed, digital audio/video interface to link the set with any compatible AV source. HDMI supports standard-definition (SD), enhanced definition (ED), or high-definition (HD) video, plus multichannel digital audio--all using a single cable. It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports up to 8-channel digital audio, with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and requirements.
