Amazon.com Product Description

With a footprint of just 14.6 by 10.4 inches, the S1+ sets up on nearly any convenient surface and weighs just 7 pounds, making transportation painless. An SVGA native resolution of 800 x 600 ensures that projected images retain their clarity even at great distances, while 24-bit color support of over 16.7 million shades results in accurate, true-to-life images.

A monitor out capability lets you display images on both the projected screen and on a monitor simultaneously, and compatibility with both PC and Mac operating systems ensures that your presentations a snap to set up, no matter which platform you're offered. The 500:1 contrast ratio provides sharp detail, and 1,400 ANSI lumens of brightness results in projections that are easy to see from anywhere in the room. The 130-watt UHE lamp provides over 2,000 hours of lamp life, while the internal power supply consumes 200 watts during normal operation and just 5 watts in standby mode.

The S1+ has a variable aspect ratio of either 4:3 or 16:9 and an adjustable projection screen size of 30 to 300 inches. The digital zoom/manual focus lens has an F-number of 1.4 and an f-number range of 16.6mm, which combine with digital keystone correction of plus or minus 15 degrees to help achieve accurate, in-focus projections across the entirety of the image.

The S1+ supports NTSC, NTSC 4.43, PAL, M-PAL, N-PAL, PAL 60, SECAM, and HDTV signal formats, the latter including 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i. Video inputs are similarly diverse, with RCA, S-video, and component video; plus stereo RCA audio. The internal fan emits less than 33 dB of noise during normal operation, while the internal 1-watt mono speaker provides a clear, intelligible internal audio output. The remote provides control over a wide range of projector functions. The S1+ also comes backed with a two-year limited warranty.

1-0 out of 5 stars I've been hurt too
This is not the only Amazon video projector price that is not accurate. I tried to buy a 3m video projector for $464.00 only to be told the same story about it being an Amazon error and that the actual product for sale was a replacement bulb for the projector. Folks, don't get your hopes up. In reality, $311.00 is the cost of a replacement bulb for this product; the real projector sells for much more. Amazon needs to work a little harder to make sure its ads are correct. These errors reflect on the professionalism of Amazon and ruin the public's faith in the company.

1-0 out of 5 stars YOU WILL NEVER GET THIS PRODUCT

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome projector for the price.
I saw a review about this projector about a year ago on a tv show called screen savers, which airs on tecTv.They gave it a good review so i gave it a try,AN LOVED IT.I only bought it to watch dvd's on an it works perfect for that.I have a huge wall in one room of our house an simply painted the wall white an use it as the screen.A 20 foot screen no less. It's the ultimate home theater, just add your surround sound an boom.No reason to ever leave your house for the movies again.Yes the lights do need to be low,or in my case i like it dark. But its got a great picture an more then worth the price. We've had nothing but fun with it ever since i bought. Its the perfect projector for those on a buget or for anyone that just dos'nt like to waste a lot of money on something like watching movies..............

4-0 out of 5 stars Good projector!
I purchased this projector two weeks ago and I am very pleased with it. When I connect it to my computer the image is very bright and I do not need to darken the room much at all to view it. The room needs to be a bit darker when viewing TV or DVD/VHS movies. My son uses it to play GameCube games--which is really fantastic because of the size of the image! However, for some of the games (Lord of the Rings) we really need to darken the room to see the screen well.

I have used LCD projectors for the past five years in educational settings. This is the first one I have purchased and I am extremely pleased with it. The only negative comment I can make about it is that the zoom feature doesn't change the size of the image by much. I wanted to set the projector on a stand near one wall and project it to the wall on the other side. When I do this the image is bigger than the wall space and I can't change its size by much using the zoom feature. Instead I have to move the projector into the middle of the room and operate it from there. Even with this inconvenience, I still think it is an excellent projector and so far I would recommend it to anyone who wants to see beautiful color images larger than life!

5-0 out of 5 stars I love mine.
How many people do you know who have 100inch tv's and paid less than $1000. I'm guessing not too many. I guess a picky person could find some faults: not as bright as a tv in a well lit room, no manual lens zoom, makes more noise than a tv. Still I really do love mine. It takes up about 1/100th of the space of a large tv, I can pack it in a backpack if I want to take it to a friend's, I can move apartments without hiring 5 movers to cary it down the stairs, I can play 4 person video games (Mario Kart Double Dash!) and everyone gets their own 50 inch tv, the colors are brilliant, and the price is decent enough.

Go buy one and you won't be unhappy.

5-0 out of 5 stars S1 Hit of the Party
This is a great product.

We had more than 250 digital photos submitted by our Harley Owners Group members to be used in a continuous-loop slide show during a recent party.

We mounted the S1 in a loft and projected the slide show onto a wall 25 feet away making a huge display of the photos. The S1 was on for more than seven hours, performed flawlessly, projected sharp images, was easy to hook up to a laptop computer (the source of the images). The simple operation of the S1 made set up and adjustments quick.

We later used the S1 in our living room to watch a DVD on a 70-inch movie screen. The projector was hooked into the video-out RCA jack on the DVD player. Total set up time: Less than 3 minutes. Again, flawless operation and extremely good picture.

I'd recommend the S1 to anyone looking for an entry level projector with seemingly solid construction, easy-to-understand controls and great features.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not a good projector
This projector has very large pixels and the picture is dark comparing with other projectors. I carefully compared this projector with several other brands in a store and got this conclusion. My experience is that you really need to compare several projectors before buying one. If you only believe the reviews, you may get very disappointed after you buy one and plug it in. After you plug it in, the only thought you may have may be how to get rid of it.

However, this projector does have a short throw rate which I like. This means you can use it not far from the screen to get a relatively large picture size. The projector only uses 100 to 120v power so it is not usable in some countries which use 220v electricity unless you use a transformer. So if you often travel to other countries, you need to be aware of this. Many other projectors do have the feature of using 220v. The physical size of this projector is large. When I went to a store to compare projectors, this projector was the largest of all. I also don't like the shape. It does not look neat to me. I like a projector with more flat surfaces. ... Amazon.com Product Description

The Epson PowerLite 51c is surprisingly portable at 6.8 pounds, has a modest footprint of just 9.1 by 11.9 inches, and sports an affordable price tag without sacrificing quality. It comes with an impressive array of features and specs that provide ease of use and a crisp, rich image.

Depending on the distance to the projection surface (usually 1 to 11 meters), screen size can range from 28 to 300 inches. The unit has a manual focus and digital zoom capability.

The 51c is ready to use right out of the box. It supports a number of video inputs and formats. A whisper-quiet performer, the PowerLite 835p provides convenient automatic setup, which intuitively sets the focus and image size at the touch of a button--all in just seconds. And, with four input connections, and dedicated audio for each, it's easily adaptable to sophisticated presentations. Use the wired LAN connection to attach the projector to a network. Or, should you choose to go wireless, the PowerLite 835p offers the ideal solution with 802.11g Wi-Fi support.

Epson's superior processing enables the projector to deliver fast transfer speeds for viewing MPEG2 videos and PowerPoint presentations. Advanced security features offer WEP, WPA, and LEAP compatibility. There's even a USB and PCMCIA input connection, so you can not only project your presentation without a computer, but digital photos and video as well. The unit is backed by a two-year warranty (90 days on the lamp) and includes the Epson Road Service Program and Epson Private Line dedicated toll-free support.
