This tiny indoor/outdoor thermometer can be posted anywherewithout being conspicuous but has a large display, making it easy toread from a distance. Measuring 3-1/4 by 2-1/4 inches, the thermometermounts via two adhesive pads to a wall or window and uses an internalsensor to detect indoor temperatures. A sensor probe on a 12-foot wireconnects to the thermometer and can run out from under a closed windowto give accurate outdoor temperature readings as well. Temperatures aredisplayed in either Fahrenheit or Celsius and measure ranges from 32 to122 degrees F (0 to 50 degrees C) indoors and -58 to 158 degrees F (-50to 70 degrees C) outdoors. The unit also operates as a digital clockand alternates between showing the current temperature and time on itsscreen. In addition to its wall mount, the thermo-clock has a built-instand for resting on a windowsill or desktop. This digital thermometerruns on one AAA battery (included) and is covered by a 90-day warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars would not buy it again.
The pulse is difficult for me to get it to show my pulse and takes a long time , IF it does work. I got it for the pulse and do not like use it because of the fact that it takes to long. It does not cost alot and if you have the time, it is a cheap buy. One of my kids tried and it said they had not trouble with it. It just doesn't work well for me.

1-0 out of 5 stars Worthless
I too found this item to not perform as promised. When I first purchased it I thought I had a defective unit so I returned it for a new one. The new one has not worked any better. The readings are not at all accurate, either very low or very high. Much of the time it doesn't give a reading at all. I purchase this to use at the gym while doing my cardio workout. Its been sitting in my gym bag for months now as its not worth the effort to take it out. I'm really shocked at how poor this device is as I own several other Oregon Scientific products and have always been happy with them.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't bother, it's cheap but it's useless
I purchased this device on the fly while looking for a pulse rate watch. The closest competetion was $50 plus so I thought I'd give it a try. One click buy later I decided to read the reviews! Wow how bad could it be for [item price]? Well, today I received it, the battery was dead and after trying to replace it , a small spring popped out. Ten minutes later I'm still wrestling with it and finally get it together! Then I find another even smaller spring! This review is the last bit of time I will spend on this small poorly designed product. I will read the reviews before I "One Click" next time!

1-0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this!
Most of the time, the pulse meter does not read my pulse at all. On the rare occasion that it does manage to give a reading, it gives an absurdly low (and obviously wrong) one. I was looking forward to improving my workout efficiency with this gadget, and am sorely disappointed.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the effort!
I have already quit using the product and now manually count my pulse on my wrist using the second hand of a watch. I was able to achieve reliable readings while sitting still at my desk, but if one is running, bicycling, speed walking, etc. I found it almost impossible to get an accurate reading on a consistent basis. If you want accuracy and convenience, spend more money and get a more complex and reliable monitor. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Tracks Steps and Mileage Correctly
I purchased this item to track my daily walks. To my surprise, it counts my steps very Accurately. The pedometer, allows you to change the stride distance to match your average step. I used a odometer to measure a mile and then I walked the distance, and set the stride to match the mile. After this was done, the pedometer measures the distance almost to the exact step. I have used it for a month and I have not had any problems with it.
The only reason that I did not give it a 5 star is that the FM radio has a prescan station botton and there are only about 5-6 stations that it will pick up, but it also is determined by your location. I would recommend this product, it has performed very well for me.

2-0 out of 5 stars What Calorie Counter?!?!?
This product (Oregon Scientific PE316FM Pedometer Calorie Counter with FM Radio) doesn't have a calorie counter?? Looks like false advertising to me.

1-0 out of 5 stars Price is cheap and so is the product
The radio actually never worked on this pedometer, which was OK as that was really an 'added bonus'. However the pedometer itself has stopped working after two months of use. It hasn't been dropped, it hasn't got wet...it has just stopped. Perhaps it is the batteries, but it's such a plastic, little toy, I don't want to waste the money on buying new batteries. You get what you pay for.

1-0 out of 5 stars not so good
I bought this a few months ago and I was pretty disappointed. It doesn't say anywhere in the instructions what all of those numbers mean. I have emailed and called the Oregon Scientific Customer Service office and they have not yet responded. I still have lots of weight that I need to lose. I am especially heavy up top and am impatient about getting rid of my manb--bs. The radio is good, though, so I gave this one star.

1-0 out of 5 stars broken!
Although it kept time (which indicates the batteries were good) this didn't work the first day I used it. It worked the second day. It stopped working by the third day AND the battery cover broke off sometime during the day and was lost. This was a complete waste of $19. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars best features at the best price in adr
I bought an oregon scientific VR399 digital audio recorder with usb down load. I have used it in many situations and was very pleased with the results of time and clearity. The usb down load function works great and saves a lot of time in transcribing at about a 10 to 1 speed ratio. I forgot my recorder in my shurt pocket and washed it, I dried it out and it continued to work for another two weeks. That is a very good credit to this recorder! The recorder still works, I only lost the usb function. This recorder has all the functions of my other recorders, both sonys, and more. For a good quality and price competitave recorder, I recommend it highly. ... Read more

With the ExactSet projection clock from Oregon Scientific, youcan be as on time as the most accurate clock in the U.S. That's becausethe ExactSet clock uses radio frequency to pick up signals from theU.S. Atomic Clock in Boulder, Colorado. The result is an extremelyaccurate timepiece that updates itself six times a day, never needsresetting, and adjusts automatically for daylight savings. The clockhas plenty of convenient features, too, such as the crescendo alarm, the eight-minute snooze, and the dual display that shows current timeand alarm time at once. The clock also features a swiveling arm with a90-degree rotation and a 12-foot range that projects the time in redwhen you push a button. Backlit with a pleasant blue glow, the screenalso indicates the date and day (in English, French, or Spanish), aswell as time zone, alarm status, and radio-frequency strength. 5-0 out of 5 stars actually...
I actually have this clock. The ceiling display can be rotated from 0-90 degrees, or there it a button to rotate 180degrees -- giving you 360 degrees. Its sittin on my nightstand, approx. 12 feet from me, right now, and I can read the LCD display from here. It's designed to not be a bright light when you're sleeping, and when the alarm goes off it auto-lights the LED and the LCD displays, so you can see it. :)

2-0 out of 5 stars Oregon Scientific Projection Clock
The clock's LCD display can not be read from across the room during daytime or even with an overhead light on in the evening.
This could be corrected if the light that illuminates the clock face had an option to remain on. Currently, one hits the bar on the top of the clock and the clock face is illuminated for 5 seconds and then the light turns off. The second option would be to replace the LCD with an LED readout.
Also, when using the projection feature the display is clearly visible, but it is reversed/upside down. One has to turn the clock almost backwards to get a correct view of the time on the ceiling. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars practically worthless
To my great disappointment this gadget is a real hassle to use -- it frequently "resets" itself and the alarm is not well designed for any practical use in an emergency. Not recommended!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great buy
I gave this 4 stars just because it's my first pedometer so not a lot of experience with them - it had clear instructions which allowed me to set my stride length and weight to calculate distance and calories burned. It also allows you to set its sensitivity so that it only counts your walking steps. I found that it doesn't reset itself unless you press the reset button - if you find yourself doing that, switch it to the cal/distance settings - then only the timer (it has a start/stop timer feature!) is affected - distance, calories and steps aren't reset.

1-0 out of 5 stars Total Waste of Money
I totally agree with a previous reviewer - it counts movements when there are none, continually, and keeps resetting the total, over and over. I bought this one for the safety cord because I kept dropping the Sportline 360 which I love otherwise but I have broken (3) and lost (1).

Needless to say, the cord is useless because I no longer bother to use it at all. A huge disappointment.

2-0 out of 5 stars Batteries not easy to find...
This pedometer requires 3 batteries to operate. It takes 2 LR43 batteries and 1-12 volt battery. It comes with the batteries initially, but the replacement batteries aren't easy to find. I had success at an 'all batteries' store.

1-0 out of 5 stars Worthless
This was a waste of money. It was a little more expensive than my first model of pedometer but seemed to have some good features. Unfortunately, the step counter was completely inaccurate. It would rack up hundreds of steps while I was sitting at my desk. It would reset itself about two or three times per use. I had to check it every 20 minutes or so and try to keep a running total in my head in case it "reset" itself. I was so frustrated with the inaccuracy of the thing, I finally tossed it. ... Whether you check on the time by consulting this alarm clock'sLCD screen or by looking at a large red-light projection of the timebeamed onto a wall or ceiling, you'll know the time is accurate. That'sbecause the clock is equipped with a radio receiver tuned to the U.S.Atomic Clock, and it keeps time with split-second accuracy byautomatically adjusting, if necessary, to the Atomic Clock's signalssix times every 24 hours. From those signals, the slim (1-5/8 inchesthick) 5-1/2-by-4-inch clock not only shows the precise time, but alsodisplays the date and day, with automatic adjustment for daylight- saving time and leap year, according to the North American time zonefor which the clock is set. (The day can be shown in English, Spanish,or French.) As a backup, you can set time, day, and date manually aswell as automatically.

The red-light projection makes it possible to check the time withoutsquinting. If the clock is in battery mode (two AA batteries included),pressing the clock's snooze bar will beam the time onto a wall or theceiling for five seconds. If the clock is plugged into a wall socketwith an AC adapter (included), the projection will be available eitherfor five seconds with the snooze bar or continuously if acontinuous-beam control is set. The projection beam comes from a device mountednext to the clock. The device pivots so the beam can be projected ontoany surface, and a dial focuses the beam for clarity. --FredBrack ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars A bit disappointed...
I bought this clock for the projection feature, but was pretty dismayed to find that the projection is so faint, that the room needs to be in pitch darkness in order to see the time. Since our blinds let in some light, by 6:30 AM, it is almost impossible to see the time.

Also, the "Radio Controlled" atomic clock setting doesn't seem to be received in NYC. It just shows the "No Reception" symbol, so you have to set the time yourself. So much for the "ExactSet" functionality...

And, oddly enough, the images show the clock as being black, but the one I received is silver.

3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty, but adequate
Very sleek looking clock but a few problems: The LED display on the face is not very bright and very difficult to see during the daytime (at night it is impossible to see the time unless you click the button to light it up for a few seconds), it is too easy to turn the alarm on/off by mistake since the buttons are flat.As mentioned in another review, you can project the time (in red digits) but only on the ceiling. On the wall, the time is displayed backwards. One thing I like about the clock is the alarm. It is a loud beep that goes off in intervals (the beeps move closer together until it goes off completely) ...Overall, I think it is a very nice-looking clock that works adequately.

4-0 out of 5 stars OK, but...
I purchased this clock for my visually impaired father. We both like gadgets and this was intriguing with its ability to receive short wave time broadcasts from the National Institute of Standards atomic clock in Boulder. It set its own time after a few minutes of operation.

He finds it difficult to use: if he picks it up he's apt to turn on the alarm function by mistake. This was waking him up nightly at 12AM until he put it in another room.

The projected time is only visible in a darkened room on the ceiling. I thought it might be able to project onto the wall behind the clock, reasonably close, and be visible during daylight. It does this, however the projected time is upside down. The designers intended for it to project on the ceiling.

The projected time, in red block digits, is bright enough and large enough for him to see at night on the ceiling.

This is the second Oregon Scientific product I have purchased. They build in high quality with innovative features. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this for its intended use. However if I were to purchase another clock from OS, it would be without the projection feature. ... Read more
