5-0 out of 5 stars great little camera
I used this camera for a few months while my husband was deployed to Iraq. I took pics of the kids and my son took pics of me, so we could email them to our soldier. It was a great way to keep in contact. I didn't have one problem with it. I love the size, fits in my pocket. it has standard digital camera features...you can set a timer, you set if you're taking a close up or far away picture, you set the quality, if you want a higher resolution.
and I brought the media card to the store and put it in the machine to print out the pictures and the quality was great.
This camera is definitely worth the money, it's not a professional camera, but it's the best "everyday" camera I've used!!! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

This thermometer displays the current indoor and outdoortemperature at the same time or can be set to display the maximum orminimum indoor and outdoor temperatures. No matter what is beingdisplayed, the unit will continue to memorize temperature highs andlows and can post them at the touch of a button. An internal sensordetects the indoor temperature while a sensor probe on a 12-foot cableprovides an accurate outdoor reading; the temperature is sampled every10 seconds in both locations. Temperatures are displayed in eitherFahrenheit or Celsius and measure ranges from 32 to 122 degrees F (0 to50 degrees C) indoors and -58 to 158 degrees F (-50 to 70 degrees C)outdoors. With its jumbo display, this thermometer is easy to seefrom across a room. Measuring 4 by 4 inches, the thermometer has atable or wall mount and runs on one AAA battery (included).--Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars They should stick to making therometers...
My mom got this camera... wow a digital camera right? Wrong, not just any digital camera, but one the size of a credit card, and with the thickness of about 5 credit cards. To simply put: that is bloody small.

But as in all things, when something is too good to be true, it often is. Though it is very conveniently small and portable, you will notice that there are no other cameras this small on the market. Why? The camera can only take pictures up to 640x468 pixels. If you know anything about printing and digital cameras, that is absolutely horrible. You can print 2x3 inch pictures... but what good are those? Anything bigger than that and you can enjoy crappy-quality photos with a lot of noise and off-the-walls lighting problems.

The camera boasts an Auto-Brite system, which personally, doesn't seem to do much. Other than that, it also boasts being able to hold up to 26 640x468 images, and more with smaller-sized images. That is totally bad, but considering the size of the camera, it's amazing it can hold anything.

The biggest problem with this camera is no LCD display... which is understandable with this size. Creating something this small, makes great conventionality, but sacrifices the most important things about a camera, being able to take a lot of images, quality images, being able to see the images so you can keep taking more or taking a picture again. With this camera, it's just hopelessly aim and click, or make sure you got the perfect set-up, and if it's bad, you will never know until you upload it to your computer.

The camera itself is bad at picture-taking. Lighting is horrible, and colors are all over the place. Worst of all, half the pictures even with the steadiest hand, come out horribly blurry. I also noticed after using this camera for a while, the quality seems to go down a little with time. Not a good thing. Also, the lens can get crooked, resulting in things becoming very off-center.

Simply put, even for 50 bucks this isn't worth it. It's not worth even selling... Any person who wants a quality digital camera needs to be willing to spend at least 300 bucks, not 50 bucks. You're better off buying a one-time use camera... you can at least get at least 81 quality shots with those for this kind of money... ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Expensive for what it does
I purchased this item in an attempt to walk more but I spent more time trying to get it to work than walking. It was difficult to set correctly, and did not measure distance walked correctly even after setting stride length. An absolute waste of my hard earned money.

4-0 out of 5 stars great!
Excellent pedometer for the money. Worthwhile investment. I only had to play around with the step measurement sensitivity, and now it works great. Radio works great also.. Definately reccommend.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good product
Just got it yesterday, already have it on and running. Although pedometer is relatively accurate, it took a while to find the best sensitivity setting so that it didn't count steps while not technically walking. Best feature is the radio, really good reception & earphones a plus. Good product for the money. Only unknown is battery life, as will be using the radio function frequently.

4-0 out of 5 stars Got me walking more!
After reading an article that taking 2,000 extra steps a day could improve one's health, I became curious about how many steps I was taking. I don't normally do a lot of walking, and don't exercise much, but I am conscious about keeping my weight in check. I decided on the PE316FM - above all else - because of the built-in radio.
The radio sounds really good when the signal is strong. There is no manual tuner, and the display doesn't indicate what station you're on. Every time you plug in the headphones, you start at the beginning of the band and need to repeatedly press the scan button (which is very sensitive and stops at static too often) to reach the station you want.
The unit is fairly simple to use and the display is easy to read. I needed to switch the sensitivy to the lowest setting to get accurate step counts. The default setting would count steps while I sat on the couch.
I wear mine clipped to the waist of my jeans and rarely notice it throughout the day.
The backlight is very convenient, especially for checking the time, but be warned - if you turn on the backlight with the headphones attached, you'll be rewarded with a very annoying high-pitched squeal.
I'm glad I bought one for my wife as well. After a week we find ourselves competing with (I mean, motivating) each other to see who takes more steps!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Pedometer/Radio
I was skeptical that a pedometer could
have a good sounding radio included in such small
packaging -- but this is a really, really good
product! WOW!!
It's also the easiest to set pedometer I've ever
had :)
I purchased my Scientific Oregon pedometer a month ago but somehow it got lost (even though it has a very strong clasp). I'm replacing it with the same model, but this time I'm
including a pedometer strap! Also, after doing a google search, Amazon.com offers it at the best price I've seen :) ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

No more squinting at a column of mercury to learn whether it'sa jacket day or a shorts day. This two-unit, remote thermometeraccurately displays the indoor temperature (inside a house symbol), aswell as the outdoor temperature in larger digital numbers. Simply placethe remote sensor unit outside, whether on a porch table or mounted onthe side of the house, and keep the main receiver unit on a desk orwall. Or, place the sensor in the baby's room or wine cellar, whereevery degree counts. A 32-yard (30-meter) transmission range ispossible between the two units, and the sensor sends data to thereceiver every 30 seconds. Operating at a transmission frequency of 433MHz, the thermometer is usable in many countries overseas. The displayshows temperatures to a tenth of a degree, in either Fahrenheit orCelsius. Three channels let the main unit support up to three sensors. Each unit requires two AA batteries for operation (not included). Theindoor unit measures 3-1/4 by 2-7/8 by 1-1/4 inches, and the outdoorsensor measures 4 by 2-3/4 by 7/8 inches. This thermometer is coveredby a 90-day warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fine System, displayed range is for warmer climates.
When the Oregon Scientific Cable-Free Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer model MTR101 came up in my Gold Box offer, I checked out the specifications on Oregon Scientific's web page. This is what I found:

Displayed range: 14.2 degrees Fahrenheit to 158 degrees Fahrenheit (-9.9 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius)

I trust Oregon Scientific's quality as I have used their products in the past. However, this particular unit would not be much use to me because I live far enough North that it can get down to 20 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. 14 degrees Fahrenheit is a heat wave around here, especially after the cold, cold winter that we've had this year. Anyway, this is a perfectly fine and extremely well-priced unit for warmer parts of the world.

4-0 out of 5 stars A great gift for the weather watchers in your life!
Ever wonder who watches the Weather Channel? Lots and lots of people, and these are the people who will love this product. I gave it to my husband for Christmas. He's usually very difficult to buy for, but this was a hit! He was always looking outside at the outdoor thermometer, which wasn't all that accurate to begin with, and difficult to see at night. Now he can sit in the comfort of his easy chair and tell you exactly what the temperature is, indoors or out, any time of the day or night. He can put it on his nightstand and see it when he wakes up and use the information to help him select the right clothes to go outside. The alarm feature that operates when the temperature drops below zero was evidently disabled when we got it. However, the directions tell you about that so you don't have an unpleasant surprise in the middle of the night. My next gift would be to add a couple of additional remotes - he thinks it would be useful to know what the temperature is in the garage. If you want to know the temperature, you'll enjoy this product. One thing I think would make this product better would be if the display was lighted to make it easier to see in the dark. Perhaps the more expensive models have this feature?

4-0 out of 5 stars The temperature ...and a little more...
First and foremost, it's a great thermometer. It works just as advertised. I set my remote sensor 50 feet away on the fence and it records the temperature perfectly!

That said, I do have one caution. The unit was developed to give a warning once the temperature drops below 2 degrees C (About 37F). I had placed the monitor unit in my bedroom and the first night that I put it up, the warning went off. I was half dressed before I realized it wasn't my alarm clock going off at 2:00 am! You can bypass this feature by setting the switch in the back to unit 2 or 3. I encourage you to do this unless you live in an area that doesn't get cold in the winter! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Elegant Package,Easy To Operate, Surprising FM Tuner
This MP3 player, voice recorder, FM radio all-in-one is 1/4" longer and same width as my AMEX card and 1/4" thick. Five buttons on two edges control all functions while 1" X 5/8" see-through display gives needed info. Diplay was B in normal room light with my trifocal glasses and was C- with adjustable edge lighting in dark rooms. The built-in battery recharges from any USB connection. You will want a short USB connector, not the six-footer that is included - compactness is why you buy it.

Windows 2000 and XP recognize the player at once when connecting with the USB cable. The player comes up as an external drive, so just move files with Explorer and you are set.

Voce recorder is easy enough and did an adequate job recording me from my shirt pocket with decent fidelity. Probably OK on a desktop to pick up two or three people around the desk. Built-in mic is the only choice.

FM tuner sensitivity was a nice surprise. Reception in my office was as clear and sensitive as on my Grundhig portable, and it automatically scanned in 30 stations on first use. (Presets can of course be manually chosen.) The earbuds are the antenna.

A crummy cloth bag was included, but a small leather slip case with a pocket clip would have been so easy to do and much more useful.

Sound with the included earbuds seemed fine to me - definitely a a few steps above entry level.

The unit is nicely packaged and looks like it could be dropped a good number of times with no problems.
