BEST LCD Monitor on the planet today !!!
Since I got this monitor home and hooked it up to my GeForce4 with DVI input and set the "reccommended" display setting to 1600X1200. I was absolutely blown away by the graphics quality of this monitor. I have played games, DVD movies and online videos. All, are superb. Are you a game nut? This is the LCD monitor for you. I just played my purchased copy of "Call of Duty". AMAZING game but most of all, AMAZING monitor. The colors were rich, clear and precise. No fading or distortion af any kind. I bought this monitor on eBay for a much better price. But, it's well worth forking over the list price that you see for sale online. What a monitor!!! I've been looking at LCD's for quite some time now. I finally found one that blew me away. Go buy one...it's worth it!!!

Picture Quality = Awesome best i have ever seen.
Normal PC use ex browsing Internet = Same as above Just awesome.
Movies = very well i recommend it for movies.

Games = NO.. do not buy this monitor if you play 1st person games where you use mouselook alot because you will have noticable ghosting effetcs. When buying a large TFT 20 and bigger for gaming make sure it has the lowest response ms as possible and read reviews on the internet to see if the claimed response rate of the screen is Justified.

Im sending this monitor back for a Viewsonic VP201b or VP201s.

VX2000 vs VP201S
Hello again i have now swapped my VX2000 for a VP201S and the following can be said.

VX2000 have a better image quality.
VP201S is alot better in fast paced games for example
Return to castle wolfenstien and Painkiller because its a 16 ms screen compared VX2000's 25 ms.

If you dont play games get the VX2000 its cheaper and better image quality. Also if you only play slow paced games like strategy games this is probobly ok. Movies if youre going to watch movies i still suggest the VX2000 its really good with Movies. However if your an avid gamer who plays all type of games alot then i have to suggest the VP201s or b since its better suited for that task.

We have 2 VX-2000 monitors that we use to show multimedia at trade shows. The monitors are one of the best LCD units on the market, with rich vibrant colors and sharp image quality. One great quality is that they handle various resolutions (other than the native 1600x1200)such as 1024x768, without getting fuzzy like most lcds do. They have handled the road trips very well (packed in a custom foam insulated container, and have wall mounts that come in handy for display use. The one negative that everyone needs to know is that the internal speakers are horrible and worthless- they put out such poor volume with no bass you can barely hear them, so if you need good sound quality, either use external speakers (we use a set of bose external speakers) or test some other monitors for sound. I doubt you will find any other LCD in this price with a better image.

This review is not for the monitor - I'm sure it's nice. However, the "24 shipping" is total BS. I ordered on the 7th and PAID FOR one-day shipping. It's now the 10th and I haven't gotten the monitor. According to Amazon's website, I should expect it on the 12th. That seems to be 5-day shipping, so why did I get charged for one? ... Read more

Two USB conector, and a power switch
It is not jut the best Display I ever had see. I solve two other "problems" in Mac use:
It give tho more USB conectors and it have a switch to turn your Mac On.
If you can afford the price, I recomend.

Wonderful Monitor
I write from the college newspaper and we use this monitor to work on the lay-out for the paper each week. This monitor is great because the graphics are clear. We also run programs like Adobe Photoshop, and the graphics are awesome with that program as well. This monitor just works great. We haven't had any problems with it!

i love it
i have had mine for 4 months - no problems -- I switch it between my G4 and G5, I'm going to get a Apple 17" soon for the G4. My wife doesn;t think I need both and announced ownership of the G4.

postively the BEST monitor I've ever owned. Period.
Well, what else can this review say? My wife purchased the Apple Cinema Display (20") as an early birthday gift for me, and it arrived immaculately packed. The monitor was extremely easy to set-up, and, when compared to my CRT monitors, absolutely blows them away. The monitor displays crisp, colorful images and text is a breeze to read, even at the highest resolution.
There were no pixel problems - the screen is uniformly bright all around. It's also incredibly light -- well, it's definitely lighter when compared to the previous Sun 19" CRT I was using.

I spend a LOT of time in front of my Macintosh - and the ACD is definitely very easy on my eyes. Don't forget that there are two handy USB 1.1 ports on the back of the monitor -- I only recently discovered these -- but it's extremely convenient for those of you who have need to connect tablets, or other USB peripherals.

If you are seriously considering a good, high quality monitor to go with your Mac, look no further than the Apple Cinema Display. You will love it! Highly Recommended.

Fantastic display -- the BEST thing for your Mac!
The quality of this 20" flat-panel display is already legendary (e.g., see MacIntouch.com). It looks great and the image is awesome. The real stunning thing about this monitor is how it will change how you feel about your computer. When you see your digital photos, your web pages and your DVDs on this diplay, you will be amazed. I had a very nice 17" CRT before this, and the Apple display just blows it out of the water: the images are brighter, sharper, cleaner, flatter... Having this much real estate (1680 x 1050) is amazing -- two full wide web pages side by side, or all your PhotoShop or Dreamweaver palettes open at once with room to spare...

It has literally changed the way I use my computer and really made me appreciate how great digital photos are. It's easy to show digital photos: with the big display and the wide viewing angle, people can gather around or see from across the room. And the images are far richer and brighter than they were on my CRT.

Very happy with this monitor!
I'm quite picky when it comes to buying elections (especially computer components). I did a lot of research and it kept leading back to this monitor. Perfectly flat screen, .25mm dot pitch across the entire screen, fast refresh rates at high resolutions, not to mention it's a shadow mask monitor so none of those pesky lines at the top and bottom of the screen that apperture grille monitors have. I upgraded from a generic 17" monitor I had been using for about 5 years so purchasing this monitor made a huge difference in games (very immersive). After seeing and using the monitor, I would easily recommend it to anyone. It's Sony-level performance without the Sony price. ...!

Better than AG
First I bought a Samsung 1100DF (21") it had nice specs .20 mm dot pitch, but the picture was not acceptable: it was dark and blurry, so I returned it back to Amazon.
Next, (figuring that I need to spend more to get an acceptable 21" CRT) I got a NEC-Mitsubishi MultiSync FP2141SB-BK 22", this one had those annoying AG lines and the picture was distorted. It also had a poor focus in the corners and a useless "superbright" mode which just dulls and blurs the picture IMHO. Supposedly this is one of the best AG monitors out there.
Then I thought: seems like I have to cash out for an LCD since I cannot find an acceptable 21" CRT. Well, in order to get one of these with the same viewable (20"), you have to spend at least 900 'rubles'. So I decided to give the G220f a chance. Well, let me tell you I am finished buying. This is as good as it needs to be. It's sharp, clear, and bright enough, and NO AG lines (being it's not an AG monitor of course)
Right now I have it running at 1600x1200@ 85 Hz. And I am happy with the picture. Had to do some geometric adjustments first to straighten the corners, but that's OK.

If you read one of the reviews below, a user complains that his is grainy. Well perhaps it's grainy if the he has it set at 800x600, in that case he should have bough a 14" or a 13" dumb terminal screen with that cool green text, nice and sharp at his preferred resolution. It would be ridiculous to buy this size display and then low ball the resolution.

Anyway, until LCD's are as fast as CRT's and have comparable price tags, I recommend this thing to anyone looking for a large display. Be you an editor, a gamer, a grapher or a lamer, you cannot go wrong here.

One thing I would change is the fact that the monitor cable is hard wired to the monitor. However, in the unlikely event that any part of the cable goes, I will have no inhibition of popping out the guts and re-soldering (but that's just me).

Couldn't ask for a better monitor
I had honestly never heard of View Sonic before I went comparison shopping for a new monitor. This model came up from time to time, and even though it's a little pricey, I decided to go for it. I have no regrets and plenty of praise. The resolution is marvelous and it was so easy to set up. This is a value at any price!

great monitor and great service
When I first received my monitor, the black level saturation was extremely poor. I did this by comparing the monitor with another older monitor that I have. Called up tech support and after exchanging a few emails later, I got my RMA number. I shipped out my monitor as soon as I received my Fedex shipping label and a week later, I received a new monitor from Viewsonic. Sure enough, the new monitor has really good black level saturation and the colors are really good. Viewsonic 220 and 225 series awful!
Our company purchased two years ago thirty two (32) Viewsonic 220 and 225 monitors. As of July 2004, eighteen (18) have literally gone up in smoke. These monitors are miserable pieces of junk and pose a safety hazard.

  X1 is a fantastic Home Entertainment system
  I purchased the X1 just before Christmas (delivery in 36 hours!) to be the video source for my Home Entertainment system. I use a computer to supply DVD input and for computer games. The Xbox and game Cube are connected through the s-video input. I am projecting on a 84 inch diagonal white screen. Viewing distance is about 11 feet.

  DVD movies look perfect. There is no visible pixilation and blacks are close to true black (in film mode). Part of this is no doubt do to using a computer for the DVD input. I believe a direct s-video input may not be as good (I have not tried this though).

  The video game systems also look great. Four player Halo on a big screen has to be seen to be believed.

  I also have a TV tuner (Hauppage)in the computer and astonishingly, the TV image (at about 65 inch diagonal)is excellent.

  The only reservation would be that the light output is not great (especially in film or video mode) so you need to use it in a room that can be fully blacked out.

  The picture is much better than any rear projection HDTV's I have seen (of any size). For the money I doubt you could by a better picture for TV or DVD viewing.

  The native resolution is SVGA so Text is slightly ragged, especially when displayed in XGA mode. Again due to the SVGA native resolution computer games do not look as good as on high resolution monitor. I would therefore not recommend the projector as your only computer monitor or for large amounts of web surfing.

  good projector
  I just got the Screenplay 4800 from Sams Club. It is a newer version of the X1. The only difference is it comes with a remote and is fine-tuned for home theater instead of data video. For ~$1250 I got the projector and a 76" widescreen screen. The lower grade DLP does show some "rainbow" effects, but it's not that bad in my opinion. I am very picky about all A/V products I buy and this has passed the test. TV out from my VCR looks awesome and DVD through the component video out looks absolutely amazing. I have not seen a decently priced projection TV that looks even a fraction as good as this projector.

  Good Projector
  I am writing this, because i made my decision mainly over the others opinions and i will be very happy if i can help others with their decision. I am not an expert but i can tell you that i am very hapy with the result. My wife was very pesimistic about the idea of buying a projector but now she is also accept that result is impressive. This is my first projector and i don't think i need an upgrade for a while. I'am using it mainly for dvd. I have a 100" screen. Colours and contrast are very good but there are minor problems with dark scenes. If you want to use X1 during the day you have to have a light control because this is not a projector you can use it in a bright environment. Seting up X1 is easy. Component video is deffinitely giving the best result but s video is also not bad. For component video you have to use a special adaptor and it was difficult to find when ý bought the X1. If you can not find it you can use a VGA to 5BNC cable (like me). It can accept progressive signals but you should decide whether your source or the procector's video processing is better. X1 has a Faroudja video processing and it is very good. I know the rainbow isue is a problem with DLP projectors (Specialy projectors with 2X color wheel like X1). But i am at the lucky side. I have more than 300 hours on the lamp and neither me nor My wife or any of my friends see any rainbows yet. I think, if you don't see the rainbows you can not go wrong with this projector. Result is perfect for the price. I think this was the best 950$ i spend for my home theatre.   Can't beat it for the price!
  I was looking for a projector to use for my home theater as well as something I could rent out(to recover my cost). About a week of research lead me to the X1. I was originally looking at the Epson Powerlite S1, but after reading several reviews on it about how pixelated it looked..most reviewers reccomended the X1 over the Epson. This led me to start looking at Infocus X1 reviews. I checked around several places and here at Amazon as well and all of them were very good. As you've probably already read, the main complaint everyone has had is the "rainbow effect". I probably would've never noticed it if I hadn't been looking for it when I got it home. You mainly notice it if you move your head after you've blinked. I know this sounds crazy, but that's when I've noticed it. It is not that big of a deal and most of your friends that you bring over to watch a movie will never even notice it! I haven't gotten the screen yet, had to order it, but even on my white wall it looks very nice even with some lighting on. It was much brighter then I expected! I have tried it with my PC connected to watch a DVD and also with my Sony DVD Home Theater system connected up with S-Video cable. The picture is about the same. I have ordered the adapter for the composite signal so that should make the picture even better. Hope this helps! I would definately reccomend this projector to anyone looking for a low price projector.

  Outstanding image, great value
  I spent WAY too much time trying to pick a projector as a first time home theater guy. I am definitely glad I picked the X1.

  When I first turned the projector on, connected it to my Apple Powerbook, and projected an image onto a DaLite High Contrast Matte Screen ($90), I was blown away. The image quality far exceeded my expectations.

  When I watched my first movie (Fellowship, played off of my Powerbook G4), I was again totally impressed. And I was being hyper critical because of the warnings of "rainbows." These are misnamed. There ARE brief, noticeable flashes of RGB color bands around some high contrast objects on some scences of movies, but it is not a problem. Believe me. I was annoyed ONLY because I wanted it to be perfect, but the image quality overshadowed any of the RGB issues. And others can't even see what I'm talking about unless I point it out to them.

  If your room is really, really bright, you will be disappointed, however. After all, this is why they turn out the lights at the movies! ... Read more

Best monitor in the world
The Apple Cinema Display is, quite simply, the best monitor in the world.
Like all LCD monitors, the 22 inch diagonal measurement of the Apple Cinema Display is a measurement of viewable area. Add a couple of inches to this measurement to get an equivalent CRT monitor size, since CRT measurements include an inch or so of black around the edges. This is a huge amount of space - enough to display two full 8.5x11 inch pages side by side, including margins, and still have an inch left over around the edges.
In addition, LCDs, at their native resolutions, are significantly sharper than CRTs. As a result, I find that an LCD screen feels as big as a CRT that is half again as large.
Apple's LCD monitors are all digital, unlike many LCDs on the market, which take an analog signal from the computer (intended for a CRT display) and convert it to digital. As a result, Apple's LCDs have no flicker - important for people like me who are sensitive to flicker and subject to migraines. Picture quality is also improved over analog driven LCD displays.
Apple's current LCD desktop monitors, including the Cinema Display, also eliminate the disadvantages of earlier generation LCDs. The color is much better than older LCDs - suitable even for print prepress, which LCDs used to be useless for - and the Cinema Display is twice as bright as a CRT display. Don't be misled by notebook flat panels - they have power consumption limitations that Apple's desktop LCDs don't have!
One note: the Cinema display uses Apple's proprietary Apple Display Connector. This is very convenient if you have a current or recent G4 Mac; if you have an older Mac or other machine, you'll need to buy a third party adapter.
If you work in front of a computer and ever feel like you need more screen space, I can't recommend the Apple Cinema Display too highly. I own two - one for work and one for home.

The most amazing display on earth...
I have had the Apple Cinema Display since around the time it came out. (Yes, I paid [a lot] for it!) And to be honest, I would pay it again because this is truly the best display on the market. I use both a MAC and PC in my profession (Designer) and am very dissapointed that an equivalent hasn't been made available for the PC.

The crispness, quality, color, and size cannot be matched by any product currently available. It's a beautiful piece of technology and goregous to look at, at any angle. It's even sexy from the back!

I highly recommend this display if you design on a Mac. There is simply nothing better...!

The finest display on Earth
Use one of these, and all other displays are revealed to be a cruel joke. I have had a for 9 months, and I am never going back. The single ADC cable and connector provides data, power, and USB ports to the display. The enormous display supports multi-page photo and layout editing, and the video output from a DVD in letterbox format will take your breath away. This is a video display that can change your life, it has changed mine.

In its own class
Try to find another 22" widescreen LCD at $2499 that isn't an Apple Cinema Display. This monitor is at the head of the class in brightness/contrast, viewable angle, and color accuracy. It's not bad looking either!

An Apple Convert
This monitor caused me to switch over to Apple. This screen is the best flat screen monitor on the market. Its excellent resolution and large size make it perfect for video editing/layout, surfing the web, and desktop publishing (not to mention flight simulators). Dual Monitors rock!
I do high-end digital audio recording on my home computer and I have 2 of the F415's side-by-side on swingarms. I have the recording software on one screen and the mixer on the other. The AG Neovo LCD monitors are great! The lighting is usually dimmed and the first thing I had to do was turn DOWN the contrast and brightness of these monitors, as it was just too much! Resolution has been more than enough for my uses, even when I call up 6 Megapixel digital photos. This was probably the smartest buy of my entire computer setup. Very high quality product.

Amazing Picture, Low Cost
I have loved this monitor from the day it was purchased. The picture ont his monitor is perfect, ther is no galre at all because of the AG Neovo design. I was surprised AG Neovo is not widely sold in Americaa, in Europe it is very popular. I found AG Neovo's at Amazon.com and Compusa. Amazon was of course cheaper. There is not a single dead pixel on my monitor. The power cablr that connects to the actual monitor is extremely thin because it goes to a seperate small power adapter making this very cost effective. It has an auto set feature, which I am surprised did not show up on Amazon. I build my computers, and have an MSI motherboard. On my old monitor when the computer is started the MSI symbol is way off center and looks horrible, then Windows XP was always a little off. That was a good CTX Monitor. This new monitor sets itself so the MSI symbol is perfectly symbol as well as Windows XP. Don't be taken by a higher ratio or higher resolution of other monitors, this monitor is just as good, or even better. My Viewsonic, NEC, and Samsung lcd's were all horrible. The picture was bad and there was a lot of glare. With this monitor I have never had a problem. I highly recommend this monitor or any of the AG Neovo's to anyone who wants a quality monitor. The f-series also has a very low price compared to its competitiors.

AG neovo ... ROCKS
After looking long and hard for the "perfect" LCD monitor for my needs ; my search is over. After purchasing a Samsung (2 1/2 stars)from Best buy and then a NEC from Circuit city (3 stars)I finally did some hard core research and discovered this brand. It was a breeze to set up and the quality difference is simply amazing. Eye popping colors and no glare...finally.

Great monitor, so-so video
As a computer monitor, the 170MP is very easy on the eyes, with good (and adjustable) color rendition, contrast, and brightness. The viewing angle is about as wide as it gets-almost on par with Apple's overpriced 17 inch; not only does the brightness not fade, but there is little color shift. There really isn't much to say, as it performs as well as I would want it too.

As a video monitor, it is lacking. I have fed it with satellite and DVD signals, using both the S video and RCA inputs (no real difference in viewable quality). At default settings, the picture was grainy and had the same sort of problems I associate with over sharpening on digital images. The major tweaking I did was to turn down the sharpening, using the nicely designed menu system. This made the picture soft, but to me far more acceptable.

Please note, I have not tried the built in tuner, as I don't have a good antennae to hook it up to. I just tried satellite and DVD feeds. I use a Samsung HDTV 30 inch "TV" (which has an incredibly good picture-try this beffore you spend the extra money on Sony, Philips, Panasonic, et al...) so I am comparing it to a VERY good benchmark. However, I think that it should have the circuitry inside it to produce a video image that is as good as my last TV did. Compared to the HDTV (which is upconverting the feed), the 170MP was lacking in brightness, contrast, resolution, and blackness. This seems odd because it really does look great (wide contrast range, good blacks, etc.) as a computer monitor.

Great alternative to big CRTs
I did a lot of research on flat panel monitors when I finally decided to get back a hug piece of desk space. I had been using a 19" Mitsubishi CRT and was happy with it. The 170MP gives me nearly the same viewing area and great quaility.

I almost bought the Envision 17" TV/Monitir combo. But when I saw this one, it had better contrast ratio which has a big impact on the TV quality. I had not been planning on a TV feature, but the cost of this monitor is in the same ballpark as many monitor only 17" flat panels and the specs are better in some areas, plus you get a TV.

The TV features are good and the 2 size PIP options make using the TV while surfing or emailing easy.

Some of the reviews of this monitor mention the difficult angle for plugging cables into the back. I agree. It is a pain, but how many times do you have to plug something in.

Overall, totally happy with this monitor.

"Perfect Flat" Flat Fanatical
I can safely give this monitor 5 stars because of its price and clarity of the picture it produces. The main thing that brought me to buying this monitor was the "Perfect Flat" in it's title. A flat screen is definitely important to me. But, there is still a curve to the actual display, albeit slight, but it's not what i was expecting. And there is deceptive layer of glass in front of the screen that actually IS flat. So when your monitor is off, you'll think it will display perfectly flat but it's not.

That being said, this is still an excellent monitor that i wish was "Perfectly Flat" - oh well atleast my TV is "Perfectly Flat!"

Everything I could have hoped for.
This moniter is incredable. Huge spread in resolutions, can go all the way up to the incredible resolution of 2048X1536! Thats the equivelant of a photo from a 3.1 megapixel camera. Of course it only supports 60 herts refresh rate at that resolution, making it mostly uselss, but its still great to view photos from my digital camera on it. It will also disply 32 bit color on all resolutions, and at 1600X1200 its suppports 75 htz which looks great. All in all I am very impressed with the specs especially for the $$$$ I bought it at.

Great monitor!
I just bought this monitor last week and it's incredible. It did, however, take a lot of time tweeking it, but it was worth it. Crisp clear text, great color, and great refresh rates make it well worth the money. I ordered it from Dell.com, paid a little more then here, but I got free shipping so it ended up being cheaper. And, Dell had it on my doorstep in less then 24 hours! Can't beat that! I knew nothing about monitors when I first started to look, and I read everything I could. I concluded that this, for the price, was the best out there. Much better then the old one I had. If you're a gamer (like me) this is the monitor to get.

Excellent monitor, very happy w/ the picture quality
I've been using a 17" monitor for a couple of years now and decided to upgrade to a 19". The most important factors for me were the picture quality and high resolution at decent refresh rates. This monitor has both, and I am very pleased with it. The display at 1600x1200 is quite good, refreshes at 77hz. The flicker is a bit noticeable, but that is to be expected at 77hz. It is still quite useable and does not appear bothersome to me. The resolution that I use, 1240x1024 is sharp, clear, and flicker free. The on screen text is extremely sharp and colors are bright. I would highly recommend this monitor if you're looking for a good quality 19" monitor at a great price. ... Read more

Sorry, this one misses the mark with fuzzy text
I had an old G771 (17") that had a short in it and I finally needed to replace it. It was a great monitor, so I thought I'd get another Viewsonic graphics monitor. Seemed like a no brainer to me.

The first G90f I received (not from Amazon, by the way) had terribly blurry text. The letters had kind of a white ghosting next to them. No monitor adjustments would solve the problem. This made reading a really fatiqueing experience. I contacted Viewsonic and they had no problem replacing the monitor with another, which was great. (so, kudos for customer service) I have just received the replacement and it's better, but still the text is just not as sharp as I'm used to. Luckily I use this for web design and not reading a lot of text, so it will probably be okay.

On the bright side, the color is bright and nice and the larger monitor (19") with all that extra real estate makes working with graphics programs like Photoshop, really nice.

So, anyway, maybe I just got two bum monitors or maybe I'm too picky. The other people seemed thrilled, but I wanted to let people know about this potential problem.

Easy on my eyes
I just returned my P95FB for a G90FB. What a difference!

I won't comment on the P95FB here - you can see my review of that paperweight on that product's page.

I plugged it in and bingo - "Viewsonic product detected - do you want to register?" popped up. That's the first time I've seen such a thing when you plug in a monitor. The P95FB was listed as "generic monitor". This one is listed as "Plug and Play" monitor.

It automatically changed my resolution from 1024x768 to 1153x864. I changed it back to 1024x768, then to 1280x768. It looks fantastic. No blur, easy on the eyes. Just for fun I changed it to 1600x1200. It is still clear, but text is so small it's not really needed. When you switch resolutions sometimes the picture is shifted to one side.

The geometry looks good. It has been stated elsewhere and is worth repeating here - the glass in front of the screen is flat, but the tube is not. I don't really care - it mostly appears flat and the lines are good.

I paid $249 at ComputerSonics in Tuckwilla. BTW - a good place to shop. They accepted the exchange of the P95FB for the G90FB (which they had to order) without any hassle.

great item - highly reccomend for gaming to photoshop
As the specs on this can easily be viewed in the technical data, I thought I would review this moniter from the user perspective. First of all, its really, really BIG. The thing is heavy as well.
So once you get this monster planted and plugged in, the fun begins. A minor peeve of mine is the "19 inch" description of this moniter, however. Its actual viewable area is more like 18", but thats par for the industry - where a "80gig" Hard Drive is really only 74gigs and so on. If you are upgrading from a 15" or a 17" however it will look just gigantic, and that extra inch or so is not going to be missed.
The install disk comes with drivers and a color template for matching with a printer. My moniter came with all needed cords as well, so I did not have to buy anything else.
Now depending on what you like the settings on this moniter are configurable in about a hundred different ways - more actually. It is, of course, expandable up and down, side to side, and in a lot of other ways when you are adjusting the way the window where the software runs on the inside of the screen. It is adjustable up to 1600x1200 at 77hrtz as well, (this means it can get really, really crisp and clear, with *tiny* icons, etc (which you can then enlarge with the OS, of course) or a more reasonable 1024x768 at 90hrtz. This means that the screen has 1024 lines of resolution running horizontally, and 768 vertically, and it is rewritten... often. I understand that you dont want the 'hertz' to be below 60, which can cause eye strain at that low a number. Something about how frequently the picture is re-written (many many times a second - I think 60Hrtz is 60 times a second, but I am not 100% certain). Nevertheless you will not have the issue of eye strain with this thing, it cycles very rapidly, on average my settings on it for gaming or photoshop / digital image adjustment is 1280x1024 at 88hrtz, and for poking around on the internet reading email and browsing I use 1024x768 at 88hrts. The result is incredibly clear fonts, crisp color, clean lines and amazing gaming.
The moniter is a "G90f" the G is for "graphics" it is sold as a pretty high end Viewsonic, and features some built in glare resistance in the glass, and shadowmasking for incredibly clear and distortion free viewing.
I have had a top of the line NEC moniter, 17" which cost over $600 new, and a HP LCD moniter (HP Pavilion F1703) and while the HP is smoking I prefer this Viewsonic for gaming and all around great images. A few bonuses I can think of off the bat are the 3 year warranty on parts and labor (try to get that from Sony) and the glare resistant coating on the glass, which means you dont need to worry about eye strain or buying one of those $50 plastic glare resistant plates to hang in front of the moniter.
I bought mine in summer of 2003 for $399.00 This was a great deal in my opinion. I have seen it here at Amazon for less, and if you are considering buying a 19" Flat Screen CRT Moniter, I honestly do not think you can do any better than this item.

Beware of defect
Purchased this monitor December 2001. I use monitor for gaming and normal computer use. Happy with picture quality - however - entire screen developed pink/purple color blur/distortion. The entire screen appears pink or purple and makes monitor almost unuseable. Returned monitor for refurbished replacement under the 3 year warranty beginning of 2002. Replacement monitor developed same problem after 2 months of use. Just made the call to have the monitor replaced again. I was advised by NEC that a large portion of Accusync 120 monitors are having this problem and that they are going to be sent to engineering to figure out the problem. While I am overall happy with NEC's customer support, I am not happy that I purchased a monitor with unexplained defect. Beware.

Great Monitor!
My Hitachi Superscan Pro 21 inch monitor became blurry after 4.5 years, so it was time for a replacement. After a lot of looking, I decided on this monitor mostly based on its features and the Amazon reviews. I am very glad choose this monitor.

Although the screen not perfectly flat, it is much flatter than my old Hitachi. One thing that impressed me is that other than vertical and horizontal adjustments, I needed absolutely no other geometry adjustments (rotate, trapezoid, pincushion, etc., needed no adjustments). Maybe this was because of the flat tube inside?

When I first booted up the computer, the image did appear washed out, but that was because this monitor is so bright. After lowering the brightness to almost the lowest setting images and text look very sharp. I use it at both 1280x1024 (85Hz) and 1600x1200 (75 Hz). I enjoy the flexibility of the different resolutions a CRT monitor offers compared to a LCD.

For the price, this 21 inch monitor offers great performance. I would buy it again!

Best of the best!!!
I just had this giant 21" NEC monitor this week. The first time it opened, it impressed me very much, because despite its giant size, it is crystal clear and crisp. The clarity is similar to Sony 15" monitor, but its size dwarfed it. Size matters, especially in reading and studying. It motivates the student all the more, without the added strain, making the review a more pleasant multimedia experience. I tried the CD material for Oracle DBA and MCSE, and this 21" monitor's hugeness and clarity, increased my motivation to read more and strain less. This is a best buy. Of course, there are other 21" monitors, but again its price beats its contemporaries. My advice to educators and students, go for this monitor. It will be a big help in passing all those exams, and certifications...

I've only had this monitor for a few day, but so far it's great. I bought this monitor for a system I use for programming and 3D gaming. It has proven to be great for both of these tasks. The text is very sharp and the graphics are great as well.

There is a slight geometric imperfection in one corner, but I have seen very few monitors that have 100% perfect geometry in this price range.

I have a dual monitor setup on Windows XP Pro, and I replaced one of my 17" monitors with this monitor. I do have one problem now, this monitor is so much sharper than my remainingg 17" (Relisys) that I think I may have to purchase another one!

Bottom line: great monitor, good price, good warranty, buy it!

It is the greatest!
I purchased my NEC AccuSync 120 on March 26th and I am very pleased with the picture quality. I do CAD, 3D renderings and play computer games and it has performed very well. The size is well worth the cost. My last monitor was a NEC and it is ten years old. I purchased this monitor because of price and quality. I would reccomend it to anyone. If I were to complain about anything it would be with the tracking capabilities of either Yahoo or UPS. For several days the Internet tracking said it was in Illinois for several days but in fact it was still moving toward me and showed up before I expected it. I love this monitor
I bought this monitor About a year ago as a replacemnt to a 15"
older monitor. I fell in love the second the perfectly flat screen came alive with beutiful bright colors, the image filled the entire screen. it works very nice with linux. after a while i got used to how nice this has made my daily viewing experience.
I just purchased a 19" viewsonic A90F, and I felt diapointed.
the screen does not feel flat, and I have geometry problems, the outer edge is black(not a full creen). Im sending it back and going back to NEC for a flat 19" (or other brand).

Best of Show
I have owned all of 3 monitors in my life, an Everdata 14', a TVM 15' flat screen and finally the NEC FE700+, which won out over two Sonys, a 19 NEC and a 19' Samsung. What impressed me most about this monitor was the richness of color-while the other monitors around it seemed faded, the NEC was hands down the superior screen. When I got it home I had all but forgotten about the other monitors. It's also big enough that I could increase the resolution from 800x600 to 1024x768, and still be able to read text on the screen, something I had trouble doing on my TVM 15'.

This monitor is a dream. Setup time was les than a minute, and Windows detected it for what it was, and not a generic monitor. It is perfect for what I use it for-word processing, games, and a little graphics work in PhotoShop. It's superb color coupled with NEC's high quality construction and reputation make this display not only good value, but a good investment. Sure there are 'bigger' monitors, but how good are they? I have seen several people with the Samsung 950p and I believe the NEC FE700+ gives a superior image quality and is only 2' small in screen size. And hey, it's Macintosh compatible, which means you can do away with those silly and cheap looking clear plastic boxes. I highly recommend this monitor.

This is the best monitor that I have ever used. Images are very crisp and colorful. It also has a brighter display than others. I would recommend the FE700 to anyone who is looking
