1-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work with the "driving force pro" wheel
Amazon referred me to this lap accessory pack for the Driving Force Pro for PlayStation 2 wheel. The Driving Force Pro wheel already comes with pedals though, and the lap accessory doesn't fit the wheel, so it's useless! If you get one of the older wheels, I am sure it's great though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Necessary if you have the wheel
This is the add on for the Logitech wheel and includes the pedals(2) and a lap attachment that really helps anchor the wheel.I don't have a table/chair that I can clamp the wheel to so this was nice.Though in the excitement of great games we started using a bungee cord to attach it firmly around our legs. The pedals have a nice realistic feel and respond great in the games.Gamecube games that are a blast to play with the wheel are Need for Speed II, Dakar, and Burnout 2.I've also heard that the Nascar is great.Really makes the games more realistic than ever.A little creativity and someone could build a nice comfortable cockpit with the wheel and these pedals. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars For budding Maverick's everywhere...
I'm a big logitech fan, since they tend to deliver solid, quality equipment that won't let you down. This joystick is a great example - simple, sturdy and versatile.
I don't play many top-end flight sims, but I can imagine if you did you might find that a more complex, button-riddled stick may suit you more. However, for all you amatuer fighter-pilots this 6-button stick (with built in throttle) should be right up your exhaust - smooth and solid to handle (I hate sticks which feel too loose), with a nice heavy base to keep you on the desktop when the MiG's start buzzing too close.
Naturally you can customize the buttons for different games, and the base-mounted throttle is easy to reach and smooth to operate.

You might find the slider-throttle tricky to reach in a hurry if you prefer to play flight game's with both stick and keyboard; but for the most part its a great addition, and saves you having to splash out on a seperate throttle or to keep a finger over those + and - keys all the time ;) I find the two base mounted keys ideal for mapping to the left and right yaw in flight games, and plus this keeps your hands over the throttle.

Junior top gun's will enjoy the easy setup and installation through the USB port, and the simple attractive design will go great with that bomber jacket and aviator shades. Kick the tires and light the fires...

2-0 out of 5 stars Great design, but doesn't work!
I bought this joy stick because I really liked its design and ergonomics. The installation was a snap and the profiler software it comes with is easily configurable. However, it became completely unplayable after a few minutes (I was playing Grand Theft Auto) because it's calibration messed up. Now, I know my way around computers, but there is nothing I could do to fix the calibration, aside from unplugging/re-plugging the damn joystick every few minutes (not acceptable). I tried the newest drivers/software, removing the profiler, doing manual re-calibration, but I never got it to work properly. If you search the net, you'll see that many people had this problem, but Logitech never formally responded to it (bad customer support from my point of view). I have Windows 2000 professional installed, so I don't know if this is OS specific problem (again based on my research it seems to happen on other platforms as well). My advice, stay away from this Joystick and get something better (I got a Saitek controller and it works great). Oh, and, of course, do your research before you buy.

3-0 out of 5 stars Calibration
Ive had this stupid stupid THING for about a year.Every time i play IL-2 the calibration gets all messed up.Im so PISSED.

3-0 out of 5 stars delivers what you need for under $20
This is hardly a "deluxe" model, but it's a good stick for under $20. Compared to joysticks costing $30 or more, the WingMan feels like it has too many loose-fitting parts, and the buttons are made from lightweight, cheesy-looking plastic. But it works just fine. This is one of the few sticks I've seen that doesn't squeak or creak; a sort of rubber collar at the base creates an odd but quiet sound. Also this stick doesn't have horizontal and vertical "grooves" -- it feels the same in all directions. I like the firmness of the throttle control which lets you power up your engines smoothly. The base is heavy and stays firmly on the desk. I use it with a Dell Inspiron 4000 running Win2000. Setup was painless -- I just plugged in and calibrated. Oddly, the Windows control panel calls the throttle control a "Z-axis" instead of a "slider." This might cause a problem if your game doesn't allow you to reassign this control.

5-0 out of 5 stars Compatibility
This product is a great controller, and has been compatible so far...

However, it does not seem to be compatible with Need For Speed Underground, and I have not yet got a resolution from either Logitech or EA Games. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars [NOT A] Surprisingly good value
Never mind everything that I said below. They died after 1yr. They weren't such a good value after all.

...

I had some 11W (each) Labtec computer speakers that cost a fortune ($130 dollars) in 1997. When the power supply died on them a couple of weeks ago, I discovered that there was nothing comparable on the market anymore. The old speakers were not just more powerful than today's computer speakers, but they had a half-dozen extra functions easily accessible from the front panel. Additionally, experiments with the demos at [local stores] had convinced me that most computer speakers that cost less than $200 were in the same class: garbage.

So it was with some dread that I ordered these cheap speakers, even though they come highly recommended. Still, I needed something and I figured that I could upgrade later when I had more discretionary cash.

The tiny 5W satellite speaker are actually quite responsive and at times the fidelity approaches that of the 50W JBLs on my home stereo. They are more than sufficient at the volumes that I usually kick out at, but THEY DO sometimes CRACKLE ON BASS when I crank them up.

The 15W subwoofer is powerful. It was hard to find the right position for it. This problem was compounded by the fact that the subwoofer is NOT SHIELDED and therefore can't sit behind your monitor on a desk. Without a balance control for the subwoofer, you are better off with it under a desk anyway.

I miss having the level of control that my old Labtec speakers provided, but the quality of sound out of these things makes up for a lot. They are better than the comparably-priced Creative Labs speakers and easily match the $100 dollar Harmans in sound quality (although the Harman/JBL Creatures have the benefit of shielded subwoofers).

I will move to better speakers later. I want something with at least 5.1 and digital i/o -- when I have the cash. In the meantime, the Pulse speakers are better than one can reasonably expect for the price.

In brief: These things won't match $250 THX certified speakers, but they do give you value for your money. They aren't good enough to crank up for a house party, but they will fill a small apartment or bedroom pretty well.

5-0 out of 5 stars An amazing product for the money! The sound is WOW!
Yeah, this little speaker set doesn't look like much, but they are truly amazing! Typically you can find these little gems online ... The sub puts out the perfect amount of bass and the satellites are crisp and clean. My friends were all very amazed that such small speakers (at such a cheap price) could produce such rich, wonderful sound. I don't think there is a another speaker set out there (in this class) that beats the Labtec Pulse in terms of sound and value for your dollar. If you are looking for an upgrade to the speakers that came with your computer, but you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars, this is your solution. You'll wonder how you lived without them for so long! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the retail price
I purchased this camera on sale with rebates and paid much less than retail. The camera operates fine for me but the quality of the picture is not very good. If you have bright lighting it works fine although it is tough to get it to look focused unless what you are capturing is very close to the camera. The software that comes with it allows you to take snapshots and video clips. It provides software to broadcast your webcam to the world but you will need to eventually pay for a spotlife account and this is the only option given by the software. If you are buying this to just let the kids mess around and make little video clips or just for instant messenger duty it will work fine. Just don't purchase for the retail price! FIY - I have mine hooked to a HP N5495 PIII 1.06 GHZ 512 MB Win XP Home laptop. For the price I paid I'm satisfied with the results of this average beginner webcam. The current two pack offer here doesn't bring down the cost per cam to any less than buying just one. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for what it is
If you need a small mouse, this is a top quality mouse. My only complaint is that the metal edges are a little sharp. I haven't cut myself yet, but I often feel like it is imminent.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not Mini is Okay 'Cause its the Right Color
My computer is basically grey and black (HP, you know). It is absolutely essential that the colors match. Therefore I got the Silver and Black Logitech Mini Optical Mouse because the full size one is kinda neutral beige. Fortunately, the size of the mini feels the same as a full size mouse.

The reason for a new mouse was sticky ball syndrome. I have found it impossible to adequately clean the ball on a mechanical mouse. If nothing else, there seems to be a lot of body oil mixed in with the dirt, dust and cat hair. Then there is rolling surface cleanness to consider. One little crumb and the cursor will jump, or hang. I can see how the optical mouse could finally pick up enough dust to some day obscure the diode, but so far it is very precise in its cursor positioning.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not very mini
I thought it would be mini for my laptop - but its more Medium compared to other small laptop mice.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not Small Enough
I like my other logitech mice so I thought this would be a good choice for my 7 year old. She needs a smaller mouse. This mouse turns out to be almost identical in size to a full-sized logitech optical mouse. I cannot rate it high since it doesn't meet it's description of being "mini" at all. I'd call it a "mid-size" mouse.

The shorter cord is nice for using with the laptop.

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally, a Mouse that doesn't get "Stuck"! Great!
~ ~ * ~ ~
~ ~ Between my old beloved Macintosh, and my new PC, I must have gone through 10 Mouses (Mice?). Each one, no matter what brand, ended up getting "stuck"- the ball inside that guides the mouse's movement, would stop rolling smoothly. I'm willing to share some of the blame, occasionally I have nicotine fit while working, and I know the ashes spell death to the Mouse's performance. The same problem occurs with the sticky fingers the kids sometimes have when using the computer.

~ ~ I do a lot of amateur photo-editing. (Adobe Photoshop and less expensive, Photodeluxe are great!) This means that having a mouse with really precise and accurate tracking is absolutely vital! I was a little skeptical about the optical mouse, but I bought this Logitech basic optical mouse on sale.
It is wonderful. I can even notice the difference in the wonderfully precise movements when I play simple online games like "Collapse" and "Bounce Out".

~ ~ For any work that requires precise cursor movement (Photo-editing, Illustration, fast-paced Games), this mouse is terrific. I've had it for 2 months now. A normal mouse would have required at least 2 cleanings of the inner ball mechanism, but the Mouse hasn't let me down yet.

I highly recommend the Logitech Optical Mouse as an inexpensive investment, which will greatly improve the way you succeed with many of your applications. This purchase was a winner! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

If you're used to a traditional mouse, then the Logitech TrackMan Marble FX may take a little getting used to. But despite its large, clunky appearance, this mouse has it all. Designed for those with limited desktop space, the TrackMan Marble FX remains stationary. You operate it by moving a large marble with your fingers while a sensor inside the mouse interprets the movement.

Solid and well built, the TrackMan Marble FX has a large, eye-catching red marble. Its weight and rubberized bottom keep it from sliding on your desk, and the curve of the mouse fits most hands (except lefties). Those with small hands may find it hard to reach the left-click mouse button, making double-clicking tricky.

Installation is not as quick as most plug-and-play mouse devices, as you must install Logitech MouseWare software to fully take advantage of the TrackMan Marble FX's features. However, the manual walks you through installation, making set up easy and quick.

Perhaps the nicest feature of this trackball is the four programmable buttons. During setup, you can program which buttons you want to perform certain functions. Most will want to set the far left and right buttons as on a typical PC mouse. However, the two middle buttons can be set for functions such as universal scroll, auto scroll, zoom, drag lock, or HyperJump and CyberJump--pop-up windows with shortcut functions in Windows 95 and Internet environments.

If you're in the market for a trackball and have the time to learn to use a new type of mouse, then you'll want to consider the TrackMan Marble FX. Its durability and low maintenance make it superior and easy to use.

Pros:

  • Sturdy and well constructed
  • Programmable buttons
  • Dirt resistant

Cons:

  • Difficult for those with small hands
  • Not designed for lefties

5-0 out of 5 stars Still Unrivalled as Best Trackball Device
Once upon a time I got sick of the gunk build up on all the mice and trackballs I had used, it got to the point where they would bump and jump on the mouse pads. I was intrigued when I saw the technology used in the Trackman line, detecting position using the tiny dots on the ball. Now having used the FX Trackman at home and at work for over 3 years, I find that it is the still the best input device of its kind, including the new MSFT optical mice. Once one gets used to the button placement and develops the dexterity to utilise the trackball, constantly smooth and consistent movement will reward them. With no moving parts for the tracking assembly the user only rarely [once a year?] has to pop the ball out and clean the sensors. This trackball does very well in digital art work with Photoshop and is especially excellent when used to play classic trackball arcade games through Mame32 emulation, Missile Command, Tempest, Centipede, Arkanoid, etc. The tertiary buttons are recognized and used as scroll wheel counterparts in Win2k; it's a nice fluff feature. My only wish would be that Logitech eventually upgrade them to use USB so I can plug them into my MSFT keyboards. Otherwise, highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars USB Version Needed
I wish Logitech would produce a USB version of this trackball. This trackball is the best pointing device I've ever found. I have to clean it maybe once a year and it only takes about ten seconds. It is extremely ergonomic. The ball moves very smoothly with your index and pointing finger. I prefer a less-sensitive motion so the ability to use two fingers vice one thumb allows for fast controlled movement when desired. You don't have to "climb" the case to get at the ball and you don't have to break your wrist angle either.
After seeing the new trackballs out there I wonder if the new trackball designers have ever used one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Make them again, Logitech!
I bought this mouse 8 years ago. In the last couple months, the right mouse button has been becoming unresponsive, and nothing I do seems to be able to get it back on track again. Now, we're talking 8 years here, I've gotten more than the $70 I paid for it back then out of it in that time.

Pros:
Ergonomic
Precise control
Doesn't need a mouse pad, or even the desk space needed to move a regular mouse around
No moving parts
Lasted me 8 years!

Cons:
Your hand is right on the ball, so any dirt on your hands gets deposited. It is really painless to clean, though, just take out the ball and blowing inside will get most of the work done. It's designed so none of the dirt will actually get inside the components of the mouse.
Fourth mouse button not recognized as a fourth button by games, must be assigned to a key.
Takes a little getting used to, a couple days at the most, like the transition from a straight keyboard to one of those "natural" keyboards.
Logitech doesn't actually make it anymore - they make a wireless version, which I will NEVER used due to a bad experience with a logitech wireless keyboard and mouse dropping keystrokes and movements a mere inches from the wireless receiver.

5-0 out of 5 stars great tool
The marble allows precision tracking where desk space is limited, since it does not need any surface area to move around on. It takes a few days to get used to, but is a great alternative to conventional and optical mouse.

5-0 out of 5 stars No doubt. I love my Logitech Trackman Marble FX device...
No doubt. I love my Logitech Trackman Marble FX device... and dread the day when it will no longer function. I do wish Logitech will once more come out with this device as it is or as a better, re-incarnated version. ... Read more

This is the worst gamepad I've ever seen in Logitech's line up. There are few very buttons, making it useless for almost any game. There is no start button which many have gotten accustomed to nowadays. The buttons on the right are so tiny! They feel odd and qwerky when pressed. Logitech has been known for making some of best game controllers out there, and I don't see why they went to make this so poorly. I'm very dissapointed in this product, thus do not recommend to anyone.

Brand new, won't even calibrate properly. Save your money. Logitech should be ashamed for putting out such a piece of [junk].

1-0 out of 5 stars D pad is horrible
I bought this to play Nascar 2002 mainly so I thought this would maybe be O.K. Not so...Action is terrible...worse than a 20 year old Atari controller. So unless you like to crash or get your...whipped in fighting games ...spend a few more bucks. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars does not work consistently if not plugged in directly
if you use either a KVM or PS2 keyboard/mouse extension cables, this wireless keyboard will periodically stop working.

Otherwise, it's fine.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not user friendly
I found this keyboard very bad if you need glasses to see the keys. They are very small. Also the software is wacky. You need to turn off the software.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply wonderful
There are more expensive cordless keyboards available, from both Logitech and Microsoft (and others), but if you tend to replace your keyboard every few months it makes more sense to buy something inexpensive. This Logitech model may not have very many extra keys (across the top of the unit), but the ones it has are enough for me. These extra keys, by the way, can easily be reassigned to different tasks - so you if you have no need for a "Webcam" button, for example, you could make that button do something else, like take you to a website, or launch a favorite program. I did not expect these features to work on my older operating system, Win98se, but indeed, all of these features work just fine. As with nearly every product that comes with some installation software, however, I would recommend that you download the software from the product's website rather than using the included CD-rom, to ensure you are getting the latest version; that worked best for me. I have one minor criticism of this keyboard: the letters printed on the keys themselves are rather small. I am not saying the keys are small, but rather, the printing on the keys that identifies which key is which is a bit small and narrow. This won't be an issue for anyone who types without looking at their keyboards, and it won't be an issue for people with 20/20 vision. But I feel they should have been a bit larger. To their credit, Logitech did print the common shortcut information on the front-cliff of the keys (C has "copy", V has "paste", and so on) and the feel of the keys is just fine. I would not call it a quiet keyboard, rather, I'd say it is average in terms of how much the keys clatter. The receiver for this cordless keyboard has a suitably long cord, and is very discrete. The keyboard comes with an attachable wrist-rest, which you will not find useful if you sometimes pick the keyboard up to type from your lap (the attachable wrist-rest will invariably fall off if you do that). Fortunately the low profile of the keyboard means there is no need for such a rest. For those looking to try a cordless keyboard for the first time, or for people who go through keyboards like some people go through dress slacks, this is an excellent choice.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wireless without lights! Why
Maybe its just me, but I think it is common sense. Put lights on a wireless and it drains the batteries. Sorry but I read 4 reviews on wireless items that said the same unthoughtful thing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quick and Easy
Just recently purchased this keyboard and I can glady vouch for it. It definitely is worth the money spent. It does what its supposed to do.It has a dorky looking base unit which should be placed somewhere near the keyboard...within 4-5 feet. Why would you need it any further? Its not like you can see the monitor from a distance, let alone what you are typing. At this distance ...."It functions exactly like a normal keyboard"!!!!It does act kinda silly around other electronic devides especially my cell phone, but then again the same goes for my wireless mouse.

Update....
Battery life is excellent. Hadn't really noticed how quiet the keys are...until now..!!!
Let me reiterate.....Definitely worth the buy. ... Read more
