1-0 out of 5 stars LaserLyte SleekPoint: Attractive But Disappointing
The LaserLyte SleekPoint Laser Pointer by LaserLyte looks and feels great. It's huge button is also a plus. However, sometimes the laser would not respond very well, and after sitting unused in a box for about one year, the laser pointer no longer works, even with new batteries. These problems seem to agree with several comments made in other reviews. Look, feel, and price are important, but not if the laser doesn't work. I would not recommend this product. Stick to the pen-shaped pointers.

4-0 out of 5 stars Light and small
This laser pointer is incredibly light and small. It was even smaller than I imagined after seeing the picture. I tested this a bit and the range is really good. The button to activate the laser isn't the easiest to use, though. And there isn't a holster (although it will still fit in your pocket). But overall, this is a great product.

5-0 out of 5 stars coolish
This is like a kick laser pointer, get it!!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but a little touchy
I ordered the laser pointer and when it came in this HUGE box, it was laughable that the actual item is so small, it's about as long as a business card and aprx 1/2 an inch wide. I took it out of the packaging it came it.. it weighs nothing at all... practically, it feels weightless in your shirt pocket... it manuevers well and projects a nice dot a long distance away ( way across the highway!) the only thing that I don't like about this pointer is you have to hold the button just right or the dot fades or sometimes it will even go out. I don't know if it is just my pointer specifically, but it's rather annoying when your pointer dims or goes out in the middle of a presentation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent value
The most incredible aspect of this pointer is its size. Fold aplaying card in half and you'll understand. It is so small andlightweight, I'm now afraid of misplacing it!

I took it outside totest the range - a nice, solid dot at well over 400 feet. I did notice the intensity faded a bit after about twenty minutes of use, but it recovered nicely after a rest. Not a bad tradeoff for such an unobtrusive device.

Who writes reviews about low priced items? Someone who is rarely this impressed with gadgets. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

With the LaserLyte PenPoint laser pointer, a combination pen and laser pointer, you'll never be without the means to get your ideas across. A sleek black cylinder with gold detailing, this pen looks remarkably like a classic Mont Blanc--except for the small gold button on the side. And with a laser range of 200 to 700 yards, meetings can be conducted more quickly and efficiently.

To use the laser, simply depress and hold the gold button. When you remove your finger, it shuts off automatically. The laser can be powered with either the included three A76 watch batteries or three AAA conventional batteries, which fit into the pen barrel. A replacement cartridge of fine ballpoint black ink is included for the pen.

The laser pointer/pen is a lot of fun to use, and you may find your office mates asking to borrow it. But it isn't a toy. Never look directly into the laser, as it may damage your eyesight, and never shine it in another person's or small animal's eyes. Children should not use the laser pointer. Also, never disassemble the laser pointer other than to put in fresh batteries; disassembly could result in radiation exposure.

The laser lens is protected by the curved top of the pen and is unlikely to smudge, but if it does, unscrew the top and wipe it clean with a dry cotton swab. Do not use cleansing solvents, as they can damage the lens. --Dana Van Nest

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent pointer
This pointer is not only very bright, but also projects for tremendous distances. It lasts very long on a pair of batteries, and the batteries are standard AAA so they are [inexpensive] and easy to replace compared to other pointers.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Bright at All!
Having read everyone elses great reviews of this laser, I ordered this pointer from Amazon a while back and ended up being just terrible. This laser isn't very bright at all and is very hard to see because it is so dim. Second of all, the dot that this laser projects is like the size of a pinhole it seems, which adds to it being hard to see.

I bought one of those generic key chain lasers you see everywhere for $5 and it outperforms this pointer in every category. The $5 pointer was alot brighter, had a much bigger dot, making it very easy to see during the day or night. I did a comparison test between the two pointers at night outside and I couldn't even really see the dot of the LaserLyte pointer at 100 feet, but the $5 pointer seemed to go hundreds of yards. So I ended up returning the LaserLyte pointer I got at Amazon because it is terrible and dosen't go anywhere close to the advertised 500 yards, it is actually barely visible at 100 feet.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent laser pointer
This pointer is GREAT! It goes very far and runs suprisingly long on the same batteries. The only thing I didn't like is the button got hard to push. I had to push it pretty hard for it to work. But other than that, it is a great product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic for Lectures and presentations
Just wished to let you all know that this little "penlight" really is fantastic for lecturing, especially with slides. It really does keep one focussed on the presentation at hand with out becoming too obstentatious or showy. I strongly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally, a real 500yarder
This pointer is GREAT! It really does 500yrds and it is super bright. Don't get it in your eyes. None of my friend's pointers can come close to mine. Amazing ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Until the LaserLevel came along, there were two ways to hang pictures: One was to eyeball a blank wall, hammer in a nail, and hang your picture. Then you'd step back only to find it was too high and leaned to the right. The second way was to hold up the heavy frame while someone across the room called, "A little to the left, a little more--no, no, not that far." Now that we're in the 21st century, you can get rid of the guesswork using the LaserLevel.

Small and streamlined, the LaserLevel fits nicely into your back pocket or clipped to your shirt. Beside its state-of-the-art laser, it also has a 5-inch ruler on one side and a 12-centimeter measure on the other. One side of the level is flat, so you can balance it on top of whatever you're hanging and see whether it's straight.

Let's say you want to hang a mirror directly across the room from a bookshelf and the top of the mirror should be even with the top shelf. Press the endcap/switch to turn on the laser (which will remain on--you have to turn it off manually) and then place the level on top of the bookshelf, aiming it where you want the mirror to hang. A red dot will highlight the area so you can see exactly where to place your nail. It's also great for object identification. From across the room, point the LaserLevel at the tool you need, and your helper can fetch it for you.

You should never look into the LaserLevel nor should you shine it into another person's or animal's eyes, as it may damage them. Children should not use the laser level. Also, never disassemble the laser level other than to put in fresh batteries. Disassembly could result in radiation exposure. If the laser lens gets smudged, wipe it clean with a dry cotton swab. --Dana Van Nest

1-0 out of 5 stars Mine didn't work
I bought one of these new, but since it continued to be on back-order I bought a used one. When I got it is was still in the original package. The batteries were shot and corroded in place. After cleaning it worked but only for a day or so. Now I barely get a red dot at a range of an inch or two.

I am very disappointed.

3-0 out of 5 stars don't get this
sure this looks good but really it isn't. the child lock doesn't work and the batteries run out way too fast.it does not go 500 yards , it goes to about 250 yards. this is a total RIPOFF i suggest you try another selection.

4-0 out of 5 stars Exelent price for an exelent item
This laser pointer is great. I've had other laser pointers but this one, by far, is the best. There is one small problem, not to bad but it is kind of long, and if you'd like to keep it secretive in your pocket it may be noticabable. Other than that it is an exelent choice

4-0 out of 5 stars Laser pen review
I thought that the pen was very accurate. It worked very good no matter where I was standing. It was also very small, so if the teacher came near, I just stuck it in my pocket.
