Amazon.com Product Description

JVC's 27-inch AV-27F475 stereo television packs a one-two punch of stylishness and affordability. It's loaded with innovative theater-oriented features, too, including black-level expansion and a Real Flat CRT with an Invar shadow mask to render detailed, high-contrast images with no geometric distortion. The set's stereo speakers are powered by a generous 7.5 watts each.

The AV-27F475's 3-line digital comb filter enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt). A shadow mask is a thin sheet of perforated metal behind the screen that restricts electron flow, each hole in the sheet corresponding to a single pixel. An Invar mask uses an alloy that's especially resistant to the high temperatures generated by the electron beam, allowing in a brighter, clearer picture. An Apacon circuit further enhances low-level details for greater picture sharpness.

The AV-27F475 receives not only stereo broadcasts, but Second Audio Programming (or SAP), too, and you always have Hyper Surround to simulate surround sound from any two speakers. BBE High-Definition Audio improves speech intelligibility and restores the dynamic range of compressed musical passages.

Top-of-the-line component-video inputs accept video from compatible DVD players and satellite systems, while S-video and standard RCA composite-video inputs accommodate most other video sources. The set offers a total of 3 audio/video inputs, one of which is built into the front panel so you can hook up a VCR, camcorder, or gaming console. A rear-panel RF input accommodates older VCRs, cable boxes, and antennas. Want to listen through your stereo system? Use the set's stereo, fixed-level analog-audio outputs.

A multifunction timer turns the TV on and off for you when you're not home or works as an alarm clock or program reminder; a sleep timer saves energy by turning off the set after you've nodded off. Other features include an interactive plug-in menu, half-tone onscreen display, channel guard, and V-Chip parental controls, closed captioning with text display, XDS (Extended Data Service) auto clock set with ID display, and a universal remote with DVD control ability.

Amazon.com Product Description

Set yourself up to enjoy just about any current media format with JVC's versatile HR-XVC33U combination DVD player and VCR. With MP3/WMA and JPEG image CD playback and hi-fi VHS performance, the unit is built to satisfy your music and home-theater needs. The progressive-scan HR-XVC33U plays not only DVD and multiple CD formats, but DVD+RW, DVD-RW, DVD-R, CD-R, CD-RW, VCD, and SVCD as well.

Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the HR-XVC33U stands ready to deliver the full potential of your DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Top-of-the-line component-video outputs help minimize digital and line-scan artifacts on compatible advanced televisions, while composite-video, S-video, and RF (coaxial) outputs ensure compatibility with any television.

With S-VHS quasi playback, you'll be able to watch (in regular VHS resolution) tapes recorded in Super-VHS, normally only compatible with more expensive S-VHS machines. Advanced programming can be set for one month and eight events, and Commercial Skip search quickly skims over 30-second increments during playback to put your program back in front of you more quickly.

Pro-cision 19 micron heads deliver the clearest possible picture when recording or viewing in EP (extended-play) mode. Auto Repeat (VHS: unlimited) and repeat playback (DVD: A-B) makes this unit a perfect choice for trade shows and conventions. Other VCR features include child lock (prevents unintended viewings), index search, skip search, auto clock setting, auto timer setting, and auto tracking.

Two sets of left/right analog-audio outputs (one for each component) channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's digital-audio outputs (one each of RCA coaxial and Toslink optical) for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver. A front-panel set of audio/video inputs simplifies hookup with camcorders, gaming consoles, and other devices.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good performance for me
I haven't yet had a problem with the DVD player on this unit. The VCR seems to work OK too, and I figured out how to program timer recording easily. A cool feature is that it reads your tape and tells you how much time you have left on it to record when you aren't sure if you have room for a program. The only real drawback I had was the hookup instructions. They were needlessly complicated and could have been written a lot simpler than they were. Once I figured out what I needed to do, hookup was a breeze. But the reading the directions made it harder, not easier.

1-0 out of 5 stars Returned Item
I purchased this DVD/VCR combo just two weeks ago and already the VCR section of the player does not work. Electronics are just not what they used to be. Returned the item and would not recommend to anyone.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not too impressed
Because of a good price on-line, I bought this unit to replace a separate Panasonic DVD player and a Samsung VCR. I have been disappointed in the performance of the DVD player, which seems inferior to my entry-level progressive scan Panasonic. The player is also much fussier about which disks it will play. In addition, the remote is very difficult to navigate in the relatively dim environs of my home theater. I have since returned the Panasonic to home theater use and will use the JVC combo in the bedroom.

1-0 out of 5 stars Problems from the start
I bought this unit from Circuit City about 5 months ago. The first one I took home had a problem with DVDs skipping until the display read "no disk" I tried every DVD I had, even new ones. I took it back and CC seemed sceptical, but grudgenly replaced it. The second unit played DVDs fine, but sometimes the remote would switch to VCR and sometimes it wouldn't. It always plays the DVD in the unit when you turn it on, and if there is no DVD in it, it says "no disk" and sticks there until you turn it off and back on, with a disk. You cannot get it to go to VCR so you can tune the TV with the unit, and it makes using the remote more difficult. It is impossible to get it to play a tape now. I don't know what the warranty is, but I really do not want to screw with CC again. I am kicking this unit to the curb and going to look at what Sony has to offer tomorrow. JVC, do better.

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid picture & performance
The HR-XVC33U shows great picture and performs well, which is no surprise based on other products in the JVC family. For those looking to record from VHS onto DVD, this product will not suffice. If your wedding is on videotape, you can get an IWeD from anchordigital.com and then play the IWeD (and your original videotape) in the JVC unit.

Overall - solid picture & sound, good overall DVD/VHS player ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars I will never buy a JVC product again.
Is the worse buy in my life. The DVD does not work and to get a new one is cheaper than repair. JVC Colombia unable to fix it.

1-0 out of 5 stars In the shop
I would not buy this product again. After about 6 months (and perhaps 20 hours of use) the DVD player started freezing images or playing too slow. Took it to a local shop and had the DVD unit replaced as some expense to me (JVC agreed to pay about half and I had to pay the rest, about $60, as the warrenty had expired). Now a couple of months later the DVD player is starting to do the same thing again and I have to decide if I want to go through the repair thing again. Probably not. I am disgusted! The VHS unit has worked great and has seen a lot more hours of use.

1-0 out of 5 stars DON'T BUY IT!!
I used the DVD player twice, and it no longer will recognize any disc. After going in circles with tech support, I was finally told I need to (take time off from work to) bring it down to the service center and pay $70 for them to fix it (since its 8 months old, more than the 3 months warranty on LABOR). Since I could buy a new DVD unit for $50, I can't see the point. I'm VERY disappointed and unhappy with their product and with their committment to service (or lack thereof).

1-0 out of 5 stars Pathetic
So far I'm pretty disgusted with this unit. I think I played one DVD on it. It did sit for a few months without use, and when I came back, the unit will no longer recognize any disc at all. JVC web site is completely useless. Now I have to waste time bringing the unit to a service center. We'll see if they'll cover the warranty. Since its longer than three months, I'm sure they'll charge me labor. What a scam!! Don't waste your money!

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice little machine
We've had this device for five months now, and have not had any problems with it. It plays all of our videotapes, CDs, and DVDs, including home-made CD-Rs and DVD+Rs. The VCR accepts and ejects tapes smoothly with no hang-ups. My only complaint is that the remote is a bit of a headscratcher sometimes. I think it could have been laid out a little better, and that's the only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars. But the machine itself functions fine. We aren't electronic experts or anything, but we rent a lot of DVDs, and this machine has suited our needs perfectly. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

Weighing just under 36 pounds yet still packing 300 watts of total power, the JVC MX-KB30 makes an ideal companion for small living rooms and offices, or for portable locations such as the backyard or beach. The system includes a pair of three-way bass reflex speakers, each with a 6.31-inch cone woofer, 2-inch cone midrange, and 0.81-inch dome tweeter. The combined audio oomph fills up a room, and gives equal attention to high, mid, and low frequencies. The system's audio sources trace to the three-disc CD carousel (compatible with CD and CD-R/RW formats), the AM/FM tuner (30 FM and 15 AM presets), and the dual dubbing cassette deck. The latter component features full-logic controls for superior performance and the coordinating capacity of CD synchro recording (ensures that recorded tapes synch up to their CD sources).

The system also offers play exchange; a programmable wakeup and sleep timer; a demo mode; Compu play; continuous, random, and repeat play for one or all three discs; and a rotary encoder volume control. The listener has the choice of several individual music modes--one each for pop, rock, and classic--and can also select Active Bass Extension for a more robust sound. Signal transfer is coordinated by the 1-bit dual DAC.

The system is designed as a standalone unit, though it does include a front auxiliary input and a headphone jack.

Amazon.com Product Description

One of the first of a new generation of high-definition, rear-projection televisions, JVC's 61-inch HD-61Z575 widescreen LCoS TV is based on the company's D-ILA (Direct-Drive Image Light Amplifier) microdisplay device, the highest-density microdisplay device available in 2004. The D-ILA rear-projection TV is fully high-definition compatible, offering 1,280 x 720 pixel resolution and a 0.7-inch D-ILA device in a 3-chip design. The set also features JVC's Four-Point Color Management system and its exclusive Digital Image Scaling Technology (DIST), which upconverts incoming signals to deliver sharp, vivid images.

The 3-chip structure of JVC's D-ILA chip has the ability to continuously reproduce a flicker- and burn-free picture. In addition, an invisible pixel structure prevents color or motion artifacts, and a true analog gray scale provides outstanding gradations of black. For reliability, it uses an optical-stable inorganic alignment layer.

DIST upconverts all 480i and 480p signals to 720p using a JVC-exclusive algorithm. Jagged lines inherent in source signals are smoothed, vertical resolution gets enhanced. JVC's Four-Point Color Management delivers vivid colors by selecting 4 points from the color spectrum and separately adjusting each.

HD DSD (Digital Super Detail) edge enhancement is active on still-, fast-, and slow-motion areas of the picture for crisp, defined edges. Other features include Dynamic Gamma Control Circuitry, TheaterPro 6500K color temperature, Digital Noise Clear circuitry, an interactive plug-in menu, XDS ID display, and Natural Cinema 3-2 pulldown reversal (with on/off capability) for all telecine sources.

JVC's unique "Natural Progressive" picture improvement technologies optimize signal quality before a picture reaches the screen. Natural Progressive technology doubles the image data in each field and uses advanced 3D interpolation to display a solid image with no noticeable scan lines and to eliminate jagged edge noise and image trails.

An HDMI-compatible input with HDCP (High Definition Content Protection) offers an uncompressed digital connection for the transmission and display of high-definition audio/video programs. The set also includes dual auto-sensing component-video inputs, assuring the best possible picture quality from DTV, D-VHS or DVD, as well as 3 S-Video inputs and 4 composite-video-based AV inputs. Front-panel AV inputs (including S-video) simplify hookups with camcorders or other video devices.

The HD-61Z575 receives not only stereo broadcasts, but Second Audio Programming (or SAP), too, and you always have Advanced Hyper Surround to simulate surround sound from any 2 speakers. BBE High-Definition Audio improves speech intelligibility and restores the dynamic range of compressed musical passages.

JVC's AV CompuLink III simplifies operation with other JVC audio and video products, and an NTSC tuner offers split-screen and multi-screen PIP viewing. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My first-day experience
So far I like it. It hasn't skipped once, and the sound is quite good (I use aftermarket headphones). It works well. FYI: It is made in China. I wish more people made comments concerning this nice product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good sound
Just bought one after listening to it in the store. Sounds good, better or at least the same as Sony players prices for $50-$60.
I has 3 bass boost settings (more and less boost) and bass boost off.
It does not look very apealing, but not ugly either.

1-0 out of 5 stars DON'T BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When i got this right away i noticed the sound quality was not as good as my last cd player. Second off all, it says anti-skip but it doesn't help at all, i could have bought another cd player for this so it is not worth the value. Third, is that it is not durable. I dropped it from a foot off the ground on carpet and the sound went bogus. When you change the sound it would scratch and be very obnoxious. And last, recently the clip that keeps it close just broke off very easily. So after this i tried to get my warranty but it was only 10 days. You had to buy an additional warranty before that one expired. I am disapointed with this product. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars JVC ROCKS!
Wow is this unit nice, like a PDA for Satellite Radio. Sirius is the best service, used to have XM but switched when they added NFL coverage, I will be a life long sub!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Signal drop-off common w/this unit
Easy to use, but the signal keeps dropping out unexpectedly in both home/car use. If the unit is turned off and then turned on again, the signal often comes back for a few minutes. I will be looking into higher-end products. ... Read more

137. JVC LT-23X475 23" LCD TV

(price subject to change: see help)
Asin: B0001YW1M0
Catlog: CE
Manufacturer: JVC
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France | Japan

Amazon.com Product Description

Whether you're working, watching TV, or spinning a DVD, your eyes will love JVC's LT-23X475. The television offers a sleek, perfectly flat 23-inch liquid-crystal display and an ultraslim profile--just over 3 inches deep, perfect for wall mounting or desk positioning with the provided stand. Hook it up to your PC or your progressive-scan DVD player or a DTV receiver and enjoy the richness and vividness that standard interlaced broadcasts will never be able to muster. This is an EDTV television, which means it's a step closer to high-definition or HDTV than standard TVs. When viewing progressive-scan sources you'll get seamless, razor-sharp images with none of the flickering associated with interlaced images.

The LT-23X475 offers a widescreen (16:9) aspect ratio, native 1,280 x 768-pixel resolution, exemplary 500:1 contrast ratio, high 450 cd/m2 brightness, and 176-degree viewing angles--among the broadest in the industry for LCD screens--so you can enjoy the set's image from nearly anywhere in the room.

LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch "flyback" noise, an issue with CRT TVs), accurate image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), long screen life (no risk of image burn-in), space savings, and light weight/easy positioning. They also tend to be cheaper and, to some eyes, slightly more natural looking than their plasma flat-panel counterparts, which usually "spec" higher (higher brightness, higher contrast ratio).

The LT-23X475's 3D Y/C comb filter removes blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt).

The TV's handy side-panel connections consist of a 15-pin D-Sub PC input, an auto-sensing component-video input, a composite-video input, an S-video input, and an RF input (for older cable boxes, a VCR, or an antenna). A stereo analog audio (left/right RCA) output lets you integrate the set with an AV receiver, and a monaural RCA subwoofer output can feed a stand-alone powered subwoofer to flesh out the sound from the set's stereo speakers.

Advanced HyperSurround simulates surround sound from 2-channel programs. Other features include an NTSC tuner with PC PIP (for simultaneous viewing of the PC input and 1 TV channel), black-level expansion, XDS auto clock set and ID display, V-Chip and channel guard parental controls, and auto VNR (video noise reduction).

1-0 out of 5 stars Should've bought a Sony DCRIP5 instead!!!
I just got this camcorder and I got very disappointed. It was impossible for me to use it on an outdoor party at night.

With the price, I thought this camcorder would be better than Sony DCRIP5 which my friend just bought. And the Sony camcorder works just perfect despite the fact that it's even smaller than this JVC camcorder.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best features for the size
Best camera i've seen for the size and for the price. A must buy if your the type that like to capture moments but would not like to carry around a big bulky machine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Size has the point!
I agree with other people talking about DVP3U's bad still image quality. However, camcorders are not supposed to take still images. If you buy any camcorders, you won't be satisfied with its still image. (Sony Mega pixel ones are just ok). The movie quality of this camcorder is great (audio is not as good but you can easily attach zoom mike on top).

To the main point. You can buy great super-quality camcorders like Sony VX-2000 or canon XL-1 (with 3CDD) and take hollyhood quality movies. However, if you don't carry it with you most of the time, you won't be able to make any movie at all. If you don't use it, there is no need for super-quality, mega pixel, etc. For this reason, DVP3U is one of best mini camcorders I've used. It fits in my jean pocket and I carry it with me anywhere I go. The battery life is short but you can buy two extra (2hour battery) .... That will be enough for continous use of this awesome camcorder.

5-0 out of 5 stars Huge Performance, Tiny Size
I just get this camcorder, and i take it on vacation and the video and sound performance was great, almost perfect, the still photo has an a bad side, that if you take pictures in dark places this would grow or let see a bigger pixel than if you take the in good light. So the only low that i put in this fabulous camcorder is of taking still photos in the dark.
But is great all the extras it has in such small space like the MP3 capability or the direct conversion for MPG4 videos, if you want a camera so small you have to spect some lows about it but i only find one. Also is great al the comunication devices that come with it, to connect it to the TV or to your PC or MAC.
No other brand give you so much Software in this category.
I hope this review help some one else.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible customer service
It's true: tiny size, you can really take it wherever you want, high quality video (low quality photo, though), etc., etc....

But... I have one since 7 months ago and I have had it with me only for three months (the other four, it has been at the store -or I don't know where, because it didn't work) -at JVC nobody wanted to give me a new one (even though the camcorder was under warranty) and they tried to repair it three times before it was finally OK (they "simply" sent me the camera saying that the problem was already fixed, but it wasn't...). ...
