If you like Karaoke Revolution 1 or 2, don't stop to think -- just buy this mic. I absolutely promise you will see your scores soar!

I got mine a month before Karaoke Revolution 2 came out and I was very tired of having to hold the headset mic to my mouth to get it to register. I have a small head, so the size was correct, the prepackaged mic just wasn't good enough for music. I was so tired of singing the correct notes, yet seeing the indicator fly around the screen because of the poor mic. The handheld mic totally fixed this. From what I understand, this was very typical behavior as well. Also, my husband is 6'6 and he couldn't even begin have the headset mic anywhere near his ear and still have the mic near his mouth.

This handheld mic solves all those problems. Not only that, you get to look more like the characters in the game. Then you can give the mic that came with Karaoke Revolution 1 to some kids and let them use it for part of a Halloween costume! They'll think it's a great role-playing toy! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad value
This headset really disappointed me. For the first four to five weeks I owned this headset, it suited my needs. However, it soon began to fail; it refused to play back any audio and it recorded unacceptable amounts of static. Despite these problems, it is incredibly expensive for the quality it promises. Logitech has completely ruined this headset.

2-0 out of 5 stars microphone broke down after four months
Because I suffer from a repetitive stress injury, I am dependent on voice recognition software (and thus, a decent microphone) just to get by using the computer.

I was very disappointed with this product. Although the volume and mute futures worked well (better than a previous Plantronics product), after about four months of daily use, the microphone simply stopped functioning. Before that, the recognition was pretty great.

The headphone sound seemed pretty good, I used them to listen to CDs all time. Never had any problems with the sound cutting out.

Perhaps Logitech needs to work out its quality control little bit better. I would buy the product again if I knew that it would last.

1-0 out of 5 stars Didn't last
I was perfectly happy with this set despite the fact that it bypasses your soundcards features - until they malfunctioned. The volume control is broken and forces the volume to 0. I found that at least two other people had this problem on the Logitech website where there was no solution and no response from Logitech via email.

Very dissapointed and out $40 to boot.

2-0 out of 5 stars Beware the wire
I thought the price was a little steep. The sound was better than my Altec Lansing AHS 302 (Don't even bother) but after 1 week the flimsy wire started to give me mic static. This is confirmed from a friend who had the same unit. Can't use it anymore. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Available Headset
This is my third bluetooth headset after Motorola HS-810 and Jebra 250. I absolutely love it. Here is the comparison:
Pairing: Pairing with my Sony Ericsson T610 was easy just as it was for Motorola and Jebra headsets. All three use 0000 as password for pairing so if you have done it with one, it won't be hard for any other one.
Sound Quality: Best of all. Crysp and clear sound. HS-810 had the worst sound with lots of crackling and high bass breaking sound. Jebra had some crackling but Logitech is very clear with almost no crackling. I was impressed.
Microphone: Again the best, I asked listener at the other end to rate the quality of my sound. Logitech again was best with its noise cancelling microphone. Jebra was second. Motorola again wasn't the best.
Comfort: I had a conference call with each of these three phones lasting more than an hour. Jebra was little heavier than Motorola and Logitech. Jebra's speaker sticking in ear becomes uncomfortable after some time. I found logitech most comfortable and lightest.
Battery Life: Logitech's 30 days life is beyond compare.
Price: $75 is almost 25% less than $99 Jebra and almost 40% less than $119 HS 810.
Cool Factor: IMHO HS810 is cool but too much attention grabber, Jebra is better since it hides behind your ear but I like Logitech which looks very much like a headset and I have to mention the cool case for storing Logitech headset. Very Cool and Safe.
I am really surprised to see that this set is not available at more outlets. I am sure that will change soon.

4-0 out of 5 stars No More Entangled Wires
I have a SE T610 phone and bought this headset because I was constantly getting entangled by SE's wired Headset. Pairing this Bluetooth headset with the phone was a little bit of an adventure and frustrating at first. Just make sure you press "more" on the right hand side of the T-Mobile T610 phone and add it on in "Handsfree" mode. I initially just added the headset on generically without specifying the "Handsfree" mode and found the phone "deleting" the device after I would restart the headset and phone. But everything is fine and stable in "handsfree" mode.

The sound quality is very clear and I find the range to be decent. Moreover, this bluetooth headset works very well with the voice tags on the SE T610 phone. One need only touch the multifunction task button on the headset for one second to activate voice dialing. It works very well in my car and inside my house. When I walk outside sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I have not tried the included microphone covers yet. Perhaps that will help when I'm outside.

I have had problems getting the headset to respond to the "Answer" and "Busy" Voice Commands on the SE T610. But that is not a major issue. I just answer calls now by touching the multifunction task button.

I recommend this headset. But it is very geeky looking. I don't have a problem with that except when I'm with my girl and I feel like kissing her passionately. Moreover, anyone who could break the microphone off the headset has to be really forcing the issue against all common sense.

I have small ears so after 3 hours of use I feel some discomfit so I have to change the headset to my other ear. Then it is fine.

4-0 out of 5 stars Exceeds expectations!
After reading reviews, I was expecting a delicate, balky headset with average sound and a huge charger base.

What I got was a headset that connected to my SonyEricsson T68i with no trouble, including voice dialing. The range is what you'd expect for Bluetooth, ~10m. The audio in both directions is much better than the wired earbud that came with the phone. Other reviews refer to the boom as fragile. If you treat it reasonably, there's no way you will break it. The "coffin" dock station is a plus, since I can stick it in a bag for travel and it will actually protect the headset. It is a little bulky next to the competition, but I knew that going in, and I prefer the "over-the-ear" style - I think it provides better outside noise muffling.

All in all, a good purchase. Also, I bought from Amazon with Free Super Saver shipping and expected to wait a week and a half...it arrived THE NEXT DAY :)

4 instead of 5 because of the bulky charger brick in addition to the dock station.

1-0 out of 5 stars HORRIBLE Tech Support
I have tried many headsets and found this unit to have the best sound quality and it's the most comfortable. Out of all the headsets I have used I have not had to call tech support because they worked perfect out of the box. The Logitech unit I received did not support voice dial even though a few reviewes claimed it did. I called Logitech to find out what was wrong with my unit and dealt with one incompetent person after another. The people that answer the phone at Logitech can not spell Bluetooth and have no clue on what it is used for. Logitech does not have an 800 number for support and I spent two hours working my way up there support chain until I found a person that understood what Bluetooth was. He told me all units in the field have old firmware and my brand new unit needed to be shipped back for a replacement. I sent my unit back next day air and it took them over a week before they shipped me a replacement. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LOGITECH PRODUCT EVER.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Ready for Prime Time
The concept of a wireless headset is intriguing. Unfortunately, this design does not fulfill its' promise.

First, it is not a comfortable fit. It always felt as though it was about to fall off, and I was always aware of it's presence.

Second, it does not work as seamlessly as the wired headset. Voice dialing did not work properly (you could never hear the prompt tone to know when to say the voice command). Without voice dialing, you lose much of the freedom of a headset.

Third, you look like a total geek wearing this thing. Not only is it large, but there's also blinking lights to attract attention.

Kudos (and gratitude) to Amazon's hassle-free and simple return policy. Back it went. ... Read more

Logitech's 980114 headset system brings hands-free convenience to telephone and PC communications. Based on your use of the headset, the system automatically switches between functions for you, using Smart Switching technology. This technology conveniently eliminates manual switches between the handset and headset, as well as manual switching between telephone and PC.

The headset incorporates sound amplification technology, while the noise-canceling microphone filters out background noise. The system works with all single and multi-lined phones (not compatible with cordless phones), and comes equipped with an AC adapter to ensure continuous power supply. A six-position configuration switch allows you to customize the positioning of the microphone, and volume controls for both earpiece and microphone keep you conversations clear. 2-0 out of 5 stars OK for telephone
I like the idea of this switch, and the way that you do not need to fumble with switches to go between headset and handset, or between telephone and computer, but I found this useless for voice-recognition, getting very poor recognition despite trying various different headsets, which led me to believe that the problem was the switch itself. However, it seems fine for telephone use, especially for the price. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for
This was by far the worst headset I have ever used. The battery would constantly die, and would take 6-8 hours to charge. I could figure I would have use of the headset every two days.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great deal for the price
Considering similar products from Plantronics are many times the price, this is a great deal if you want a starter headset. I admit I was ready to toss mine after having problems with the microphone cutting out during conversations, but I finally figured out I had to turn up the microphone volume using the tiny control on the left side of the unit. It's been working consistently since. The factory must set this control to 0, resulting in bad "out-of-box" experiences for many people.

Easy to switch from computer to phone connection sound by picking up the phone handset and placing it on the pad. Also very handy for a cubicle environment when you want to listen to online media without bothering your neighbor. I got the microphone to work with the PC by not following the color codings on the cable (I plugged the blue cable connector into the orange microphone input on the PC instead of the line in).

So, a couple of gotchas that you might not encounter if you read the manual first (can't find it anymore) but the real value here is the price. Good starter system for a cubicle worker.

2-0 out of 5 stars Nice functionality but sound quality and coverage is poor
This unit was easy to connect to our two line phone and configure for compatibility with the phone.

But, its sound quality was poor. People I was speaking with complained of lots of static during the call.

Another problem with this product is that its performance is sensitive to the location of the headset with respect to the base unit. When I was 20 feet from the base unit, a motion of 4 or 5 inches meant the difference between a *VERY* static connection and a clear connection.

Overall, we did not like this product and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice product
As I know, Logitech is a leading player of PC peripheral equipment. I am sure their products are in high quality even I have never used 980117 cordless headset. I really want to buy it, but I wonder if its voltage is suitable for China. Because the voltage is 220V in China, I know it is 110V in U.S. Anybody can give me answer if the product is suitable for China.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice product, pretty much what I expected
A friend of mine, and myself went in on two of these so we could talk to each other through Net Meeting with the ease of a cordless phone. I will say that this is a nice procduct, it comes with a standard 2.5 mm telephone headset, but you can use any headset that you want. This is actually one of the nicer telephone headsets that I have seen, although I am switching between its headset and one that slips over m ear.

On remarks that the telephone patch cable that runs from the telephone base to the Logitech base is too short I would reply by saying that is is a standard 12" cable that is typical for any telephone head set. All around a nice product, but I will say that you should shop around a little, this was a pretty hard product to find....

The only reason I gave this 4 Stars instead of 5 is because the unit does slip out of the base easily, but this does not provide an even moderate inconvienence for me. ... Read more
