I was skeptical about how effective this little machine would be. I washed my face with biore warming facial cleanser as I waited for the steam to begin. I placed a towel over my head to keep as much steam in as possible. Immediately, I could feel my pores opening up and my face feeling that numb, clean, tingly feeling. After a while sweat began to fall off of the tip of my nose. Normally, this would be an uncomfortable thing, but it was almost like I could feel the impurities leaving my face. About half way through the container of water, I went to the bathroom to look in the mirror. What do you know? I could hardly see any impurities in my pores! Even the little dark pores in the crevice between my bottom lip and my chin were gone. (I have been trying to get rid of those for some time now.) I decided to wash my face again with biore since my pores were so completely opened up. Then I went back to the spa to let the steam remove any remaining residue from the cleanser. Once all the water had left the container, I decided I was finished. I went back to the bathroom and splashed cold water on my face to close my pores while they were so refreshingly clean. Overall, I would rate this experience as a 9 out of 10. I feel so clean and relaxed. I never write reviews, but I am just in awe of this little machine. My face looks and feels so soft! I would guess that I will be using this machine at least once a week. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DEVICE! (Again, I am using just the basic model, but I would think that any other model would be at least this great, if not better. Steam is steam, right?)
After using the facial sauna for 8 minutes, I put on the mask. I found it a lot better than just using the mask on cleansed face only. By using the facial sauna, it opened up the pores. I didn't regret on purchasing this product and I highly recommend it!
The product seems very sturdy, it has a built in timer, the two cones are easy to attach, and ~3 minutes after starting, it beeps and generates a steady supply of steam. If you are looking for a gentle supply of steam to either lightly steam your face or open nasal passages, then this product should work great. If you are looking for something more than a light steam, this product will not deliver. For me, this product does not compare to the feel and steaming ability of a bowl of water (heated to boiling on the ol' stove). I'm giving this product 4 stars, because I didn't really expect it to generate much steam and it is designed very well. ... Read more

1. Give it more power! It is 1875 watts, the same as my ordinary hair dryer, but it just doesn't blow the air as forcefully. That accounts for the quieter tone of the motor, and for the longer drying time. 2. Lose the sparkles. The rubbery surface of the dryer is great for gripping, but it is embedded with little flecks of silver glitter. Last time I wanted glitter on a hair appliance I was using it to try and make my bangs stand up higher than Susie Porter's in 1987. 3. Add a cold shot button. The cool setting works well, but it's a pain to flip the switch back and forth all the time. Overall, an impressive hair dryer. Not recommended for people with very long or thick hair, since the high setting is still a bit wimpy.
Unlike some other dryers, this unit allows me to have warm air at high speed. (With some other units I can only get warm air at low speed or hot air at high speed). I like the independent, sliding controls--one for the heat level (cool/warm/hot) and one for the air speed (low/high). Also, I like the fact that this dryer has 2 ionic ports. My hair feels softer and looks shinier. My Mom bought this dryer per my recommendation. She also likes it. I like this dryer so much that I gave my best friend one for her birthday. ... Read more

Quicker? NO. It may even take a little longer than a standard 1875-watt dryer. The reason is that the fan does not blow very hard. The "high" setting blows about like the "low" setting on a standard dryer. Reduced frizz/flyaways/static? YES. These are significantly reduced. Increased shine? YES. My hair is visibly shinier. Quieter? YES, but qualified. The only reason it is quieter is because it doesn't blow air as hard as a regular dryer. Freshens hair? YES. Another drawback: This dryer is very heavy. It took me several days to get used to how heavy it is. This dryer delivers almost all of what ionic hairdryers promise, but I was mostly hoping for a dryer to speed drying time. If you have thin hair or hair that dries quickly or have plenty of time to dry your hair, then I would highly recommend this dryer. My hair looks shinier and healthier.
Since I had paid 20 bucks for it way back when, I was ready to spend that much on a replacement. Much to my surprise, in the 10 or so years I'd owned that dryer, a lot had changed, and now the same money buys a lot more hair dryer, so with some dough to spare, I bought one of these. Many complain that it doesn't pack the same wallop as other dryers but that's a case of perception versus reality. The Conair's barrel has a larger diameter than most dryers and its fan is quieter, so while the perceptible breeze isn't as blustery, it's still moving plenty of air. I know because I use an egg timer to count off 3 minutes while I dry my hair and the Conair never leaves my hair damp (a barber told me that after 3 minutes of blow drying, you're just toasting your hair and not helping it). If you MUST have that scalp-scorching pinpoint blast, Conair includes a concentrator. Ions are all the rage in hair dryer technology right now. Purportedly, a stream of ions directed at your hair will neutralize static electricity and smooth out frizzy hair. Ions are also claimed to flatten out scaly hair shafts, resulting in more shine. I'm waiting for our good friends at Consumer Reports to weigh in on the benefits (or lack thereof) of "dual ion ports", but after a week of daily use with the ion switch ON, I've noticed that my hair doesn't fight me as much when I brush it into place. Even when the static-charged Santa Ana winds are howling through sunny SoCal, my hair doesn't stick out like porcupine quills. And, yes, if I turn my head from side to side, there's a noticeable shimmer that either wasn't there before or I had never noticed it. A minor flaw is that the power and ion switches respond to a very light push, but after a couple uses you learn to position your hand accordingly after switching on the dryer. The dryer offers low and high air-speed/heat settings and has a "cool shot" button that cuts off the heater while cranking the fan up to its fastest speed. "Cool shot" is another feature that is said to set a style in place by cooling down the hair quickly. So, whether ions really do or don't make a difference, the overall performance of the Conair Ion Shine is worth the price.

Also, the mat kind of "floats up" in spite of the suction cups and sticks against my skin in a way that I find annoying, especially considering that the surface feels cold due to the air being shot at you. Altogether I am disappointed and sad that my present turned out this way. My husband is very disappointed too.

Just when I was thinking I would just need to accept my waves and frizz, I made another purchase. And thankfully so! Using the brush attachment, my hair is now dry in 10 minutes when it used to take 30 minutes. And it is as straighter, shinier and smoother then it has ever been. It really works. Buy one ASAP.

I thought that maybe I got a lemon, but after reading other comments regarding this piece of junk, the odds are I didn't. I will be returning it to where I purchased it for a full refund, unless, between now and then, my opinion on this product can be altered. What a waste of time and money for me as a consumer, the store from which I bought it, and finally the manufacturer. Did they think that letting this mistake of a product was going to be accepted by the public as a vaiable dental aid? What are some of these corporate decision makers thinking? Why? If the answer is money, then that doesn't even make sense. Because everyone loses money on this kind of product offering.
I too was disappointed in the size of the reservoir. It is indeed a pain to refill in the middle of a cleaning. Indeed, with the WaterPik I would often go through two full reservoirs, so I often find myself refilling and re-refilling the Conair. Anyway, now it's nearly Christmastime again, and this Conair Interplak water jet has gone south. The water pressure is miniscule on all settings; it doesn't change at all from 1 to 7. It's basically useless now. I would not recommend this product, and I instead recommend that you get the real thing, a WaterPik. My family's has lasted over 10 years. ... Read more

1. Heat. It does not heat water. However, unless you're soaking your feet in the Arctic or soaking for over 30 minutes, theres no need for the spa to heat the water. I never understood the need for heating the water from cold or maintaining 105 degree temperatores, but if heating of water is a concern for you, I wouldnt get this foot spa. 2. Bubbles. This spa does remarkably well. Many foot spas I've owned (homedics, dr scholls) are very very weak in the bubble department. This spa has good strong bubbles all along your feet. Of course considering your feet are places right on top of where bubbles will come out, dont expect gale force winds to be bubbling on your feet. The bubbles are relaxing, substantial and I have yet to have this clog. 3. Vibration. VERY GOOD! I've owned many footspas and this one is the first that doesnt sound like a train is going through my bedroom. Even on high speed with bubbles and jets this spa is quite quiet. The vibration is powerful and very soothing. 4. Water Jets. This is the centerpiece for this footspa. No other spa has jets of water like a jaccuzzi on your toes. The jets are very relaxing and are a good compliment to bubbles and massage. 5. Bottom of footspa. No spikes!! Thank goodness! Homedics has determined that we want spikes under tired swolen feet. Fortunately Conair thinks differently and my feet arent spiked by an uncomfortable bottom. 6. Splash Factor. Even when overly filled, this spa causes very little splash despite having bubbles, vibration and water jets. Of course with bubbles you will have splash factor, but put a towel under your footspa and your carpet wont get wet. 7. Loofah pads. Just ok, not really good for smoothing rough feet, but pretty relaxing to rub your feet over the pads. Pads are removable for cleaning or if you just dont want to look at them All in all, a fantastic foot spa and well worth every dime ... Read more

I thought unit was on the large size. It holds a LOT of lotion, which might be good if you lather down your body a couple of times a day. It is too big for those who use specialty lotion in relatively small amounts. In addition, the dispenser is also not as sturdy as it looks in the picture. Am I pleased with the purchase? Yes. But with a little better design, this would have been a superb product. ... Read more

If you currently use wax or an epilator (and like the results) you will NOT be happy with this. It lasts exactly as long as shaving and is about as close. It is not to be used in the bikini area and I would not stick it under my armpits for anything - so you still have to use a razor. I also find it hard to use around my ankles and knees. On the plus side, I can use it when ever, or how often, I want. It is easier for me to use on the backs of my legs than shaving. It exfoliates beautifully and it doesn't leave any red bumps. The hair is left tapered so stubble shows a bit less than shaving. It works much better than any electric razor or cream I have ever used. I have course dark hair against white skin (prone to ingrown hairs), so hair removal is always a challenge for me. Tips: They are not kidding when they say to use it on completly dry skin. The first few times I tried it, my moisturizer gummed up the pads. And, even worse, I hit a sweaty spot, the thing stuck, and I got a rug (exfoliater?) burn. Do not try to sand off every single hair the first few times or you will sand off skin!!! Just follow up with a razor until you get use to it. I find that taking a quick pass over everything and then going after the remaining hair a second (or even third) time works much, much better (and I don't get burns.) It really does take a few trys to start getting good results. The pads are washable!!! A single pad clogs up and quits working before I finish my first leg. So, I line them all up and replace them as I need them. When I am all done, I wash them off with an old soft toothbrush and let them air dry - good as new.
Before I purchased this product, I read most of the reviews and they all seemed to be very positive. I'm always in hunt for better hair removing products and decided to give this one a try. It is truly pain-free, but think about it logically, other than razors, there is no other way of getting the hair without pain ... if there was, don't you think that all the salons would use it instead of wax??? I have fine dark hair (on light skin) so it's easy for me to see that it didn't do what it claims. I admit, I was tempted to keep it just because -- as I mentioned earlier -- it does such a good job buffing the skin and making it feel smooth, but for this kind of money, it wasn't worth keeping and I sent it back a few days ago.
If you do all of this you will LOVE this product. ... Read more
