The entry-level system in Logitech's renowned Z-Series computer speakers, the 2.1-channel Z-340, is a 3-piece system pumping 33 watts total power, RMS: 6.5 watts x 2 and 20 watts for the subwoofer. The Z-340 uses Logitech's dual-chamber, pressure-driver subwoofer, designed to deliver twice the bass energy of similar systems.

The twin satellite speakers stand on desk or mount on the wall. One of the satellites provides a headphone jack with dedicated volume control, perfect for private listening. The powered subwoofer rounds out the bottom end to a deep 35 Hz, a good octave below the range of most bookshelf speakers, delivering floor-shaking bass from your music or movies.

Logitech's use of an internal power supply obviates the bulky wall adapters found on many speaker systems.

4-0 out of 5 stars excellent quality, cheap price
these speakers are awesome! get them if you like a lot of bass. i use them with itunes on my imac dv+ without any difficulty. only problem i had was when i was setting up - the instructions told me to plug in the speakers in the speaker outlet on the side of the computer, but this didn't work. a call to logitech customer service directed me to plug them into one of the headphone jacks on the front of the computer. overall, very happy with my purchase. no need to spend any more money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Speakers for the Money!
I just hooked these speakers up to my PC and I'm extremely surprised at how well these speakers perform given their price. They have surprisingly crisp high end detail for using full range drivers and the subwoofer is very capable for use with games and MP3s. Also, the speakers look great, are easy to hook up, and like others, I think the cobalt blue LED is cool.

Obviously these speakers don't compare to a high-quality subwoofer paired to floorstanding speakers using a seperate woofer/tweeter layout. But for under $$$, these speakers perform very well.

I noticed that the subwoofer is crossed over at a high frequency, which means a lot of the music and voices come from the subwoofer instead of the L/R speakers. This is done because the small L/R speakers can only go so low. This causes you to "notice" the subwoofer too much (a good subwoofer is blended so well that you don't even know it's there). To help reduce this effect, I moved the subwoofer under my desk into the corner, obstructed by my computer.

I also noticed that at my first placement of the subwoofer, the bass sounded kind of crumby. When I moved the subwoofer into the corner, it sounded one-hundred times better. By placing the subwoofer in a corner, you gain 6dB of SPL (every surface you put a subwoofer by gains 3dB or doubles the volume). Moving it into the corner also made the perceived bass sound deeper.

Overall, I'm very pleasently surprised and happy with these speakers and would highly recommend them.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent speakers
For this price you're not going to get a better pair of speakers. These speakers have tight bass with no distortion. Obviously you are not getting audiophile quality sound but for this price who cares.

5-0 out of 5 stars Spectacular!
These speakers are an AWESOME value. They sound awesome, especially with a well coded, bass heavy mp3. I can't recommend these enough for the price. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Great, but there are better (albeit few)
These speakers fit the bill perfectly for an upper echelon comp speakers, or some of the best console speakers ever. However, having actually HEARD both these and the klipshc 5.1 promedias, the promedia's sound slightly better and less boomy bass wise. Don't get me wrong, these are great speakers, and for... they are cheaper and almost as good as the klipsch. However, I consider the extra money worth it for the klipsch. Also, while the decoder is great for consoles, it is superflous for pcs where and good soundcard (esp. audigy 1 or 2) coupled with powerdvd or win dvd will be able to decode both dts and dd perfectly, and they also support pro logic II. Thus, for console speakers, these are unbeatable for the price (klipsch's dream system with external decodes costs...), but for computer speakers, where the decoder doesn't matter as it will all be done by a good soundcard, get the klipsches and exjoy youself. Either way you will be happy, but with the klipsches, you will be moreso.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent system for the price
This is an excellent system considering all the features you get for the price. I bought it to replace the Altec Lansing ACS54, and what an upgrade it is.

There are a few compliants I do have with this system. The constant hissing is a nuisance (though it's almost inaudible over computer noise and usually unheard when anything's playing), but I've heard that if you bug Logitech hard enough they'll send you an upgraded control unit that solves the problem. The other problem is that sounds are a bit muddled unless you remove the satellite covers (I got this idea from one of the numerous z680 reviews). With certain instrumental pieces, it sounds almost like a completely different system. (I keep my on because I'm afraid I'd do something stupid and break it.)

But on the bright side look what you do get: Coax and Optical digital connections and the standard 3 port analog connection,DTS and Dolgy Digital Decoding, and Dolby Prologic II encoding in music and movie modes and of course THX certification (though I consider that more marketing than anything else).

Sound quality is of course top notch compared to most other computer systems, comparable to that offered by the high-end Megaworks and Klipsch sets though I do have a few nitpicks. Removing the cover helps sound brightness though the highs still seem to roll off when approaching the upper limit (maybe it's just a placebo effect). The bass is awesome, but sometimes I find it too awesome; it completely drowns out the satellites. The Klipsch isn't without faults either; I'm not a big fan of its sub or its performance at high valume. The Megaworks have excellent satellite performance, and the bass is tighter, but somewhat lacking in games and movies (and I use that term loosely; none of these systems have lacking bass compared to your mid-to-low range computer speakers). Granted no computer speakers are going to equal high-end home audio setups, but these 3 sets come the closest, though each has its own quirks. The price and features provided by the Z680s swung my opinion.

5-0 out of 5 stars the best for the money
these speakers are the best for the money.....this is my second set from amazon.i own 5 computers.the first set i bought a year ago.and just added another set to another computer.i also own a set of klipsch ultra 5.1 that cost about 400.00...and they dont have a remote or decoder with them....the z680s come with everything.and side by side the z680s perform just as good.dont waist your money on the ultras 5.1....buy the z680s for alot less from amazon.you will be amazed at the performance of these speakers. earth shaking bass.and clean highs.im also using creative audigy 2zs sound cards with these speakers.awesome set for the money.and amazon is the best price with free shipping.and they have the best service.....

5-0 out of 5 stars Logitech Z680 (SUPER)
Hi

In just over one year I have had this system, and it still plays excellent.

Actually I bought it for my computer, but when I got it connected, it was TOO loud in my PC-room.

So after 2 days, I moved it into my livingroom, and connected it to my TV.

I have these connections:
DVD-player(Optical connection)
Digital satelite box(Coaxial connection)
PC(Cables)

I am very satisfied, and enjoys every day I listen to this system.

So "just go for it..."
You will not find anything better at that price.

Greetings from GREENLAND

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Speakers
I have had these speakers now for two weeks. I have excellent hearing and I do get the hiss that everyone talks about. Still fiddling around with them as far as placement and that. Have them hooked up to a Mac G5 via the toslink cable. They do sound great except for that annoying hiss. Other than that I would definately recommend them. Good price from Amazon. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Newegg
Buy these from the computer site Newegg.com instead. They only cost $65.00, not $99.00 as they're currently listed for as I'm writing this review. I love these speakers, but I would definitely buy my electronics from somewhere other than Target because they have a tendency to overprice their stuff...

5-0 out of 5 stars great sound
Mine have been rained on a few times and still sound great, wind will never knock them down (the footings are metal) and they just look sweet. I can't get over the sound, plenty of depth and volume. Pleasantly surprised.

4-0 out of 5 stars Subwoofer placement is critical - then they can be great.
I was really excited to replace my Harman Kardon sub/sats that came with the Dell.... the truth is the HK's were actually really pretty darn good. But I thought I'd make the leap to something better. The Z3's came, I unpacked them, and hooked them up. The first thing you notice is that the satellites are very heavy.... ah, a good sign....??? I placed the satellites on the desk and the subwoofer on the floor under my desk. Fired up the system. Ugh. Terrible. Granted, the subwoofer has an independent volume control, but no matter where you set that, the separation from sub to sats is horrible. The sats are too treble'y, the sub is too boomy (in a bad resonant way) and so all you hear is screachy treble and this really weird crappy boomy sound from under the desk. Keep reading, it gets better... I wasn't willing to throw in the towel, so I went to Home Depot, bought some wood, and built a box, 14" high, 10" square all sides. I filled the box with sand to kill the resonance, and put the sub on the box. Now the sub sits on this box under my desk, with the sats sitting on the desk right over it.
Simply bringing that sub up to nearly the same level as the sats made a HUGE difference; I mean the critical difference. I'm sure that sitting what is basically a low-quality sub on 40 lbs of sand has helped it 1000% as well. It has made the sub very clean with none of that goofy resonant boominess left. So for the $60 + $25 other materials, I have a speaker system that was everything I hoped for!

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent
These speakers look sweet. The wired remote is very nice and the sound is very good (but not great).
For the price it is definetely a good deal.

3-0 out of 5 stars Attractive and decent-sounding speakers, but not much volume
Logitech's Z-3 speakers are a quality set of basic stereo-plus-subwoofer speakers for use with a computer, game unit, or small near-field (close-up) audio setup. They are quite pretty, with faux-wood cabinets and brushed metal accents, and despite their small size are quite heavy. While the set is not exceptionally loud for its rated power, the subwoofer provides substantial bass (perhaps too much at higher settings), and the stereo mid- and high-range satellite speakers offer smooth sound, an attractive and functional design, and solid metal bases for stability. The wired remote, with its simple power button, large analog volume knob, and funky blue LED power light, is an especially nice design.

I purchased the Z-3 speakers for use with a digital stage piano in our living room. Logitech includes a wired-in male mini-stereo plug (the kind that connects to a computer, portable CD player, or other mini-headphone jack), as well as an adapter that converts the mini plug to two female RCA jacks, which plug into standard left and right RCA cables used by stereo systems. I needed additional adapters (which I had, fortunately) to convert those RCA connectors to 1/4" mono phono plugs on the musical keyboard, but that was to be expected, since the Z-3s aren't aimed at musicians anyway.

Wiring up the system was straightforward: the power plug is part of the subwoofer, so you don't have to worry about multiple power cables snaking around-which also means there's no way to run the satellite speakers alone, without the subwoofer. Oddly, you must separate the main cables (which connect the subwoofer to the satellites and remote in a bundle) by peeling the wires away from each other, like licorice strips, to get them to the length you need, which is something the otherwise-good (and very short) manual fails to mention. As shipped, the free cables are too short to reach either side of a computer monitor, never mind a piano. Some might be wary of doing any wire-separating without anything in writing to make clear that it's safe (which it is, since you're just peeling off some rubber). The satellites are very nicely designed, with two stable cast-metal feet and removable soft speaker grilles that protect from poking fingers but don't seem to colour the sound significantly.

The volume remote is worth a mention on its own. Some PC speakers provide all sorts of doodads on the remote (or just put the controls on one of the speakers), and they often use little clicky buttons to control the volume. The Z-3 gives you just the basics, and is better for it. There is a power switch (which doubles as mute-just turn the power off!) and a very large, smooth-feeling old-style volume knob. There is a standard mini-headphone jack, slightly recessed, which could be awkward if your phones have a bulky plug, but none of mine do. The LED power button is a trendy blue, and perhaps a tad bright if you use it in a dark room. The remote itself is plastic, but feels solid and well built, like the rest of the set.

Although the Z-3s are rated at 40 watts total power (17 for the two satellites, 23 for the subwoofer), they don't seem to have much more overall real-world volume than my old Yamaha YST-M7 computer speakers, which lack a subwoofer and are only supposed to put out 10 watts total. That shows how meaningless wattage ratings really are for these kinds of speakers. But it's good for me, since my young daughters tend to turn everything to 10 if given a chance, and when 10 isn't that loud, it can be a relief. If you crank up the Z-3 subwoofer (it has a separate bass knob on the back), you can get room-shaking bass, of course, but at the expense of being able to hear much high-end articulation from the satellites. Apparently, if you have a hotter source signal than the piano I used, turning the Z-3s up yields too much high end in the sound, but I didn't find that in our setup.

With the stage piano, I found a subwoofer setting just a few notches above minimum to work best. The high keys give a realistic tinkle, while the lowest ones vibrate the keyboard authentically, and the midrange is rich and lush. Overall, the Z-3s beat my old Yamahas for overall richness and evenness of sound. Audiophiles might disagree, but they'd be spending hundreds or thousands of dollars for speakers, while the Z-3s barely break three figures in Canadian dollars. It would be nice to have some equalization control for the midrange and high end, but few computer speaker systems offer that, and it's always possible to add an external EQ unit between the sound source and the speakers if you insist.

There are less expensive "2.1" PC speaker systems, as well as more powerful and better-sounding ones, but if you want a set of speakers that look good in addition to sounding just fine for most near-field, low-volume applications, the Logitech Z-3 might be your ticket. For my application, they're great. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

Demanding gamers need high power, THX performance, and discrete multichannel surround sound, and Logitech's Z-5300 5.1-channel surround speaker system delivers on all counts. With THX-certified quality and 280 watts (RMS) of thunderous power, the Z-5300 takes your movie and game experiences to new heights. Its patented dual-chamber subwoofer pounds out twice the bass of conventional designs to deliver deep, loud, and powerful bass down to an impressive 35 Hz.

Front and rear satellites receive 35.25 watts apiece, while the potent sub packs a full 100 watts for house-shaking, low-distortion bass from its 6.5-inch cone. The satellites' polished aluminum phase-plug drivers combine two drivers into one: the clarity of a tweeter with the richness and fullness of a separate mid-range driver.

Use Matrix mode and the source selector switch to create breathtaking 5.1 surround sound from stereo, 4 channel, or 5.1 sound sources. The system's full-featured SoundTouch wired remote provides an LCD screen, a headphone jack for private listening, and convenient controls for quick adjustments of level (master, subwoofer, satellite, or center).

Rotating pedestals grant easy installation and positioning on walls or desktops. The Z-5300 also features removable grilles for a high-end, custom look. Got a Sony PlayStation2, Microsoft Xbox, or Nintendo GameCube? Just plug in the X-5300 using the handy video-game console adapter and immerse yourself in the explosions, music, and dialogue of your favorite games.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a package
These speakers really have made me enjoy my music alot more. I used to have a 2.1 speaker system that had came with my computer, and the bass just wasn't what it should be. So i decided to go and buy these. The sound quality of the voices is so much clearer and crisper. Not to mention the subwoofer is the size of a 15 inch t.v it delivers amazing bass. i've even used these speakers to play on my xbox, since it comes with an adapter to use on tv's and such. There isn't many speakers out here that can cost this little and give such good quality. I highly recommend these speakers if you are going to use them for gaming on your computer. It gives you such a different effect, i even mounted the back two to my ceiling since they are able to rotate and have holes for you to mount them.

5-0 out of 5 stars AHh-Yes! Truly Awesome!
After purchasing and testing other speaker systems over the last year, the buck stops here! With fantastic sound quality and surround-sound, I now can enjoy all kinds of music, from rock to classical and everything in between. Whatever your needs are (music listening, game playing, movie watching), the Z-5300s will allow you to hear with clarity all of the sounds that were meant to be heard without interference, distortion, or lack of volume. I have not found another computer speaker system that can compete with the quality or price.

I rated this product 5 stars for superb quality. RCA cables are used, so the length of speaker wiring is extendable, the construction is strong, yet very stylish, and the system handles high volumes without losing clarity. The cables and hardware provided allow many different set-up options, such as hanging the speakers.

While I keep the bass volume low, there is a seperate control to increase the bass volume for those who like the the walls to shake. Note: If too much bass is passing through the speakers while the bass volume is at the lowest setting, check your software settings. I had to turn off the bass effects in my software program to get the proper sound quality.

I have the SoundBlaster Live 5.1 card. Be sure to have the proper sound card installed to take full advantage of the surround sound offered by the Logitech Z-5300s.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Amazing Sound System!
I really enjoy this space-saver fascinated cool rock stereo system. With this price, you couldn't find it anywhere better quality. I would recommend anybody to buy this stereo system--small price and BIG THX quality.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding speakers for the price!
Strengths:
Amazing sound for games, music, and DVD's, Excellent sub with 100 watts power, THX certified package under $200, 560 Watts Peak Power, Easy to setup

Weaknesses:
Short rear and front speaker cables (Can be fixed with extenders), Wired Remote

Summary:
The Logitech Z-5300 is an excellent buy for the money in terms of sound quality and design. The sound is crisp and (take off the removable grills for the best sound) and the bass is rich and clear. The speakers are good for anything - Games, Music, DVD's, etc.

The sub is quite big with my hand being able to fit in the "heatsink". However, it produces 100 watts of ground shaking power which is not too loud or too soft. The sub has an input selector switch which makes it possible to switch between 2 channel (stereo), 4 channel, and 5.1 channel.

The speakers are 35-40 watts each and are color-coded which makes it very easy to setup up to a 5.1 sound card. They are also wall-mountable and are rotatable for perfect placement.

The SoundTouch™ puts you in control of the volume of all the speakers including the effect of the sub. The "Matrix" mode creates breathtaking surround sound from sound sources. It also includes a headphone jack which is useful. It also contains a video game console adapter which works with Sony® PlayStation®, Sony® PlayStation®2, Microsoft® Xbox®, or Nintendo GameCube™ using stereo RCA aduio cables.

The speakers are a fantastic buy for the price and is loaded with features which are very useful.

"THX does not hand out certifications lightly, and this set has earned it."

5-0 out of 5 stars Very nice for gaming and music!
This is a very nice speaker set. Whether you're gaming or listening to music, you won't be disappointed. A little tweaking with the software equalizer to bring up the high end so you and your friends will be awed with great sound. Take it easy on the volume at first, though; you'll want to break them in before throwing a party. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Logitech X620's
Ok so I have recently become obsessed with the world of surround sound audio. I have previously had Creative Inspire 4.1 speakers, then upgraded to Ozaki 5.1 Home Theatre. Of course, with only 25 Watt RMS total power they were hardly amazing.. So i was looking to upgrade again! I got some Logic 3 console soundstation speakers, and they didn't connect very well so i got a cash refund. So I headed to comet with the Intentions of buying a Creative Inspire T7700 set of 7.1 for £99.
Unfortunately they were sold out, so then I spotted these! I knew logitech were well recommended for sound, so I decided to take a plunge and buy some 6.1 speakers.
Well what can I say? Im not going to be too biased like some stupid reviwers on here lets start with the good points:
>Strong Subwoofer with 25W RMS output (Doubled due to patented technology) definately the best bass producer ive ever heard!
>Strong speakers, 8 Watts RMS per channel over 6 speakers! With 20 Watts in center channel!

>Headphone socket for private listening
>Source switcher - upmixes a 4.1 or 5.1 signal to 6.1
>Subwoofer Volume Control
>Sturdy Volume control - these speakers can go mighty loud, and volume control is progressive, but I dare not turn them up to the max!
>Speakers have their own stands, or can be rotated 180 degrees or attached to a wall via a screw
> Free console adaptor ensures these speakers can be easily used with xbox gamecube or ps2 right out of the box!
>These speakers ARE compatible with DVD players!
>Quickstart Manual and Warranty Card

So the good news is these produce a rock solid sound for a great price, better than Inspire 5.1's? Yes i would think so, definately better than my other two speaker sets anyway!

Sadly the bad points are, but to be fair i must state them:
>Subwoofer cannot be turned off and can be a hinderance as even on low volume it produces a tonne of bass
>Back speaker wires are particularly short!
>Needs a 6.1 Audigy to take full advantage.

So not being biased, honestly i have listed only two bad things i can see at this time. I really do like these speakers and am very pleased with them. The only concern is the amount of wires i have in my tiny room lol... these speakers are compatible with almost any home device and you are even given the adaptor to do it for free!
So if you're looking for a bargain way to step up from 5.1, grab these! I assure you the sound they produce is great, and isnt some thrown together budget model! the specs say for themselves:
70 WATT RMS Output
140 Watts Peak Output
These speakers rock, 5 stars!

5-0 out of 5 stars Just as good as the Z-640's, but 1 more satellite, nice 6.1
I am writing a review because some want to know if these are good. Well I bought the Z-640 from amazon last summer and I had bought later a Audigy 2, 6.1 surround sound card. So I waited for 6.1 to come and X-620 came. However, amazon did not stock this, until just recently. Where I bought it already from somewhere else. But these speakers are awesome. Just like the Z-640, exactly the same output 70 watts, except 1 more satellite speaker to give you nice 6.1 surround sound. 3 speakers in the front and 3 speakers in the back give it a nice distribution of sound. Perfect configuration I think. 3 on 3, instead of 3 on 2. And the subwoofer I think got even louder and better. Defintely see a difference in the bass with X-620 over the Z-640. In end, if you liked the Z-640 you will defintely like the X-620, I know I do. So check out the reviews for Z-640, maybe that will help you more if mine didn't. Amazon is the best.

Amazon.com Product Description

Turn your laptop or desktop computer or your portable audio and video devices into a complete system with Logitech's X-120 compact powered speakers. At roughly 4 x 8 x 5 inches each (W x H x D), the speakers are small enough to take on trips where you'll be holed up in a hotel for any length of time. Their bass-ported enclosures, 2.2-inch drivers, and 2 watts-per-channel power produce surprisingly full-bodied sound, which Logitech rates at an optimistically broad-ranging (but favorably telling) 80 to 18,000 Hz. The set features a unified bass/treble tone control to tailor the sound.

Setup and operation couldn't be easier. Plug your ancillary devices into the speakers' stereo minijack audio input, connect the left and right speakers via the supplied audio interconnect, hook up the AC power adapter, and fire up your music or video program. The X-120s have their power supply built into one of the speakers, so you won't have to hunt out an AC outlet with enough clearance for a bulky wall-wart power block.

A headphone jack affords private listening--perfect when using the speakers with a component that lacks a headphone jack or, more likely, a headphone volume control.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good and Bad
I bought these for a 1.25 Ghz G4 PowerMac, hoping to find an inexpensive speaker solution. The sound from these guys is pretty decent, especially for the price. However, 2 annoying issues persist that have me sending them back. 1) When you turn the speakers on, a very loud pop comes flying out. Sounds like a mini-explosion. 2) There is a continous low level "hum" that is perfectly annoying, especially if no music is playing. I've done lots of testing and it has nothing to do with my computer or soundcard as both issues exist if the computer is turned off or even if the X-120's are in a completely different room and not plugged into any audio device. It's too bad, because the sound is otherwise pretty good. I'm returning these and buying JBL Creature II's instead. My foray into cheap speakers is over, hopefully the more expensive, and sheilded, JBL's will be better........we shall see....

2-0 out of 5 stars Support?
The speakers worked great for maybe 2 weeks. Now they let out an annoying hum noise when turned on. Regardless of whether they're plugged into the computer or not.

I can't seem to find their website or get any kind of support whatsoever.

Be warned!

5-0 out of 5 stars Pretty cool speaker system, with good sound
This is a pretty impressing set of speakers. Mainly because of their versitility, but the sound quality is hardly compromised. Because of the amazingly ingenious silver dongle switch that sits on your desktop, you don't have to touch the actual speakers for power and volume functions, which can be difficult and certainly inconvenient in some setups. Even if you don't have them in any particular position, though, they sound great. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Sound & Value For Your Money
First off, I want to say that Amazon is one of the greatest resources for pretty much anything. Fast shipping, below retail prices and they are extremely reliable. Now, on to the review. These speakers were more than I expected, especially for the price. The subwoofer is solid wood and recreates the lows quite well. The satellites are well above average, and create sweet sound when playing most types of music, and when playing games. They do seem to get a little overwhelmed when multiple instruments are being played in tandem, and aren't made for loud rap, but most music and games sound wonderful when played. Even with the EQ off, they sound amazing, with a wide soundstage. If you want studio or reference sound, you will not find them in any speakers made for the PC. 1. Great Price. 2. Great Sound. 3. Great seller. Skip the Z-340. Buy these now!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent sound level for the price and size
These X-220 speakers have high highs, low lows, can play really loud !! Probably the best sound you can get for the money. I got it for $50 at Best Buy, but you can get it for about $40 on the net.
I have had the Z-340 for a while, and I love the bigger (and louder) sub woofer, but the highs are just so so. They are good for games and movies, but not so much for music (unless you have an equalizer, such as that on WMP9). The X-220 is brighter, and I love the sound balance.
They have two minor problems, though. The satellites have a slight hissing noise that you I noticed when I turned my PC off. Since I put it in my bed room, I cant just leave it on like I do my Z-340. The sub woofer has a magnetic shielding issue. It affected my monitor a bit when I put them too close together. I will be putting them on the lower shelf, so that's not going to be much of a problem for me.
I'm already considering a second set for the office.

5-0 out of 5 stars Logitech does a decent job on the x-220's
logitech does a nice job of creating the x-220's. I first learned about the logitechs excellent sound when my brother had purchased the Logitech Z340's and MAN did they sound good! these speakers are the new versions of Z340's!

The speakers are very well made there not so big a bulky such as other sound systems. They have a unique look to them unlike some sound systems how they all look the same. The subwoofer on these have a total of 20.4 watts JUST In the SUB
The satalites have a total of 11.6 watts. Which is a total of 32 watts. The sound is very clear thats the 1st thing you will notice about the system. You have the option of turning the bass down/ but not off! the bass can go down a very good amount. The sub woofer is made of pure solid wood which makes for good sounding entertainment. Logitech also throws in a game adapter which allows you to play xbox,gamcube,ps2,and ps1! the satelites are wall mountable which means you may place them up on the wall if you dont have space on your desk.

Creative and logitech have been long rivals for there awsome sound systems. When I purshased my Logitech's at best buy I had a hard time choosing between the logitech x-220 and the Creative T2900. The logitech I personally thought were much more appealing and stylish. The sub on the logitech's have 20.4 watts as the creative T2900's only have 17. Satelites the creative had 12 watts total while the logitechs had 11.6 total. But all together the x-220's from logitech has 32 watts while creative has 29 watts! the output power was also more powerful than creative. The x-220's had 64 watts of output power while the creatives had 60 watts. And sound quality the Logitechs price and sound cant be beat.

This is ONE excellent sound system! I'm tellin ya the performance is incredibile. The only problem is the logitechs sub like ALL subs as a rattleing sound! I dont know why but when there are certain beats the sub rattles. But the Creatives T2900's sub has been known to just BLOW OUT!!!! which is a heck of alot worse.

Logitech x-220's are WELL worth the money due the high performance, style, and the adapter. You can connect these speaker to almost anything that has a head phone jack! Hope you choose to buy these amazing speakers you wont be dissapointed!

2-0 out of 5 stars Subs suck
The satellites have fairly decent sound, but at super high volumes (more than you'll probably listen to normally) they get a bit sloppy

The real problem with this set up is the sub. TOO much! I have the sub knob turned down to the lowest setting and I still have to use the EQ in winamp to get rid of the obnoxious boomy bass sound. I'm returning these and getting another setup with a better quality sub.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not perfect but good value.
I purchased a prior unit Acoustic Authority® A-3640RB from Office Depot and I couldn't hear bass-lines in my music. Just a "punch" of bass instead of a tone. I was impressed at the cheap price and i could also hear the bass-lines.

It is also easy to take the Bass down if it is too much by using the EQ on Winamp or your program. ... Read more
