HP products are great
My computer came with a Lexmark printer,copier,scanner,fax machine.It was junk.I still have it brand new in the box.I got this HP machine and it's great!

Had no problems with this machine
I love this machine. But then again I have not yet asked it do what other posters have. I don't have a digital camera yet and I basically use it as a printer, since my 952c died and as a fax. The only thing I did not understand is that I thought i installed it properly and one day my computer treated it as if it were a new piece of hardware, when i have had this machine for about a year. I can't speak for the scanner because I bought a more sophisticated resolution-wise Hp scanner before I bought this. Overall I am happy with this machine. My only other problem with purchasing from target is that you all do not offer extended warranties, like best buy (where I bought my machine).

HP psc 2410 So far, so good...
I shopped around on line and followed the advice of numerous Amazon posters. I was replacing an HP psc 950 and wanted a similar device. I narrowed my choices down to the 2410 and the 6110. They were priced equally. I finally settled on the 2410 because of the capability of viewing/printing digital photos directly. (The older 950 didn't handle MMC cards.) To get that feature with the 6000 series, you have to move up to the 7000 series and pay another $100 or more.

As a Mac user I was concerned about software. One of the reasons I replaced my trusty 950 was the fact that it was constantly giving me software problems. HP considers the 950 obsolete and is not helpful with answering software snafus. Once I purchased the 2410 I followed the advice found here and downloaded the software (6.3.4) for the 2410 from the HP website, rather than using the supplied CD (6.3.0). With a high-speed internet connection this is a breeze.

One thing that may be obvious, but no one tells you, is to uninstall the software from the old HP system first--assuming you're replacing a older HP. I did that using the 950 HP all-in-one software and it worked flawlessly--as best as I can tell so far.

My only complaint with the 2410 is similar to a complaint found in another review: it's noisy and not as solid (read heavy) as the 950 and tends to shift when it does its thing. If you can live with that, or find a way to stabilize it, I think you'll find the 2410 is good value for money. It prints and copies, scans, faxes, and does it all for less than $300. Many reviewers have complained about HP software for all-in-ones. But I noticed that most of those who complained were Windows users. HP seems to one of those companies that at least cares about us Mac users. My experience with HP software on Mac all-in-ones has been pretty positive, first with the 950 and so far with the 2410.

I have yet to see how long the ink cartridges last (an annoyance with the 950). The 2410 uses different cartridges which are about the same price as the old ones but they are "smaller" and don't appear to hold much ink. The 2410 also uses a separate cartridge for photos which the 950 did not. I haven't tried that one (HP 58) yet, but the HP 57 produced colors that were equal in quality to the HP 78 (used with the 950), as best as I can tell.

The fact that the 2410 doesn't come with a cable wasn't a concern for me since I was replacing a machine that already had one.

OMG- Darn Outsourcing
We bought this printer for my father-in-law as a birthday gift and he loves it....But when I tried to use it to print pictures from my xd-photo card, I used words that I have tried to refrain from in the past. The XD card is impossible to get in. I have spent 5 hours trying to get it in to the printer, and have failed everythime. Actually, I did manage to get it in backwards a couple of times, but backwards is the only way it fits. I called customer service and was appalled that the representative did not understand me nor could I understand him. For all I know he could have asked if I kicked the printer and I may have answered yes...who knows?

They offered to send me a new printer (in 7-10 days) but I don't want to be bothered. It is my FIL's and his memory card works I think. I wanted to get one for myself, but now between the horribly written directions, the lack of Englis-speaking/understanding tech support, and the general pain-in-the-tuckasness, I will steer clear of EVER purchasing a HP product. Buyer Beware!!!!!!!!

Never had problems
I have had this monitor since 2000 and have never had a single problem with it. No humming sounds or smoke coming out and I have changed the resolution quite a few times. I highly recommend this item.

Another Great Compaq Product
This monitor is everything I expected from a Compaq product. Excellent picture quality and sound. I have never found another manufacturer who can match Compaq for sound quality. Another nice feature of Compaq monitors are the microphones that are built into the monitor, so there is no need to buy a desk-cluttering external. The microphone also works great with voice recognition software. This monitor replaced a Compaq Presario 1410 monitor that I have used for the last six years (still has better sound and picture than most new monitors, just figured it was time to update!).

Possible Fire Hazard
I had this monitor and it started to make a loud noise one night and I could smell a strong odor of copper wire burning eminating from it. The screen was black on the sides and white down the middle. When I hit the mouse to clear the screen and it started to make a shrill sound and I just pulled the plug. I had this for less than a year. If your kids have this in their room please take care. I'm the only one that used this.

Don't bother getting this
We had purchased this monitor brandnew at our PX. It seemed to look nice and I thought it would be nice to have a smaller more spacesaving monitor. Well little did I know that a common problem of 15 inch monitors or maybe just this one is, that it has difficulty displaying anything higher then 640x480. As soon as we changed it to 800x600 it would start humming and it had this high pitch noise. Needless to say that is quite useless for internet surfing and any software.
