5-0 out of 5 stars Stick to brand name (Canon) ink cartridges
I'm using this product with my Canon i900D photo printer. I'm thrilled beyond words with the quality, the output (and lack of quickly drying up) that this cartridge offers. Per a prior experience (and recommendations of others), I wouldn't recommend the cheaper clone cartridge makers. Stick with this product, both for your warranty's sake, as well as minimizing your frustration level. The Canon products are worth the few extra $$ to purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good price for Canon product - but watch shipping charges!
Although lower cost substitute ink cartridges are sold all over the web, and on this site as well, the few bucks you might save aren't worth the all-too genuine risks of replacing with generic "no-name" ink tanks. I've heard (but wouldn't wish to try it, frankly) that generic inks fade faster when exposed to daylight, could clog the print-head spray nozzles, don't spread properly on top-quality paper, and simply can't compare with the uniquely formulated dyes that have been specially researched for your printer and its matching photo papers. The one exception might be if you use a black-ink-only inkjet [hard to imagine anyone could screw up black ink]. I concur that printer manufacturers use that old hoary "razor trick" (give away the razor, profit on the blades), but with Canon's individual ink tanks -- where you replace only those tanks that run dry, you aren't out a lot. My Canon photo printer uses an array of six ink tank colors. Of these six tanks (all available on this site), 'photo cyan' and 'photo magenta' seem to be used up 2 to 3 times faster than 'black'. In other words, rather than replacing an entire set of six ink tanks, you can replace just those tanks that run empty the soonest -- thus not having to toss out a 3-ink tank [as used by HP] where 2 of the 3 remaining inks still are far from used up. Just a word of caution here - make certain that every cartridge you order from Amazon clearly states its eligibility for SuperSaver shipping. If you have to add shipping charges to this low-cost item, you could end up paying more than you would have at the local office supply store.

5-0 out of 5 stars Canon has the most bang for the buck
I have had my Canon BJC-8200 for more than a year now and I could not be happier with it. Not only does it produce photographs better than you can get developed from 35mm film it saves money while doing it. Since there are 6 separate ink tanks rather than one black ink tank and one 3-color tank; I have only to replace the tank which runs out of ink rather than one huge tank which has run out of red, but still has plenty of the other two colors.

And don't let the small size of the tanks fool you in to thinking that they will run out of ink frequently; since flow control is so precise I can print a huge pile of 4x6 pictures before the yellow or red runs out.

If you are looking for a great printer that will almost pay for itself with savings on ink; look at one of the Canon bubblejet printers with individual tanks. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Canon Genuine DOES mean better!
I have used Canon brand ink jet printers for years. I have never had any print quality problems while using Canon Genuine inks. I can't say that about "after-market" generics. In fact, I burned up two print heads before linking the generic ink to the failure. I do not use generics any more. The cost of the printhead far outweighs the "savings" using generics. Still using genuine ink, still using same printhead - no problems. Why mess up THE best inkjet printer on the market by using questionable supplies? Insist on Canon Genuine supplies!

1-0 out of 5 stars Confusing info
Canon ink cartridges are the best for Canon printers, but Amazon should provide better information about the compatibility of the printers and ink tanks they sell. I bought a Canon i850 photo printer from Amazon and these BCI-3E Photo Ink Tanks are NOT compatible while the BCI-3E Color Ink Tanks (ASIN: B00004U8RN) ARE compatible. Yes, both are called BCI-3E. Go figure. I ordered the wrong ones and had to return them. I suggest being very careful before you order or buy them from somewhere else where you get better information about compatibility. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite printer uses these.
I have had many printers. Big Cannon printers, epson & Lexmark. The Cannon portable bjc-80 uses these tiny ink cartridges. They do not last long, but if you want all black ink, use the big cartridge, it is a better deal. All in all, this printer & cartridge are the best on the market. Lastly, it works in this small portable printer...and it's great everyday.

5-0 out of 5 stars No problems
Ink tanks are pretty simple. They should work, not leak, start up immediately after not using the printer for awhile, and be easy to replace. This one does.

2-0 out of 5 stars Almost Empty ink tank
This cartridge with tank came with my printer when I purchased it and if I didn't know better (the box had never been opened and was tightly sealed) I would think that it had been used. It does not print up to 80 pages unless the pages are only partially full. In fact, it was empty by the time I got finished printing one three page letter and about another 5 or 6 pages from a web site. Ten or 12 pages is all I got before it was empty. I thought there was something wrong with my printer and didn't even realize, at first, that the the color was gone as I had never experienced this before. One will go broke buying ink tanks and cartridges for Canon's BJC80, 50 and other small, portable printers and they are expensive in themselves. I wish I'd never bought it as it's always, always out of ink and never available when I need it.

3-0 out of 5 stars A bit more than you pay for
This is a good basic printer, nothing flashy but VERY cheap. I was surprised by the quality for the price. HOWEVER, I was also dismayed by how quickly I ran thru the first black ink cartridge. (Less than 100 pages I believe). As another reviewer points out the replacement cartridges are comparatively inexpensive, but I'm old enough to remember getting a whole year of typing out of one Selectric ribbon...anyway, great basic printer if you're on a tight budget, for students, or as a backup.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Basic printer
Basic, inexpensive and gets the job done. I have two printers and this is the default. It helps when wrting papers and cheap enough to have a backup cartridge laying about vs. my other printer where they are almost 10 times more costly.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's average..
I also had an older Canon printer which used the BC-02 cartridges and upgraded to a newer Canon S300 printer last year which uses the BCI-24 cartridge and noticed the water resistant difference. The BC-02 ink seemed to be a higher quality as I don't recall my children smudging school printouts near as much as they do with the BCI-24. This is unfortunate but it's a cheap printer..bound to have lower quality ink I suppose.

2-0 out of 5 stars Economical, but NOT Water Resistant!
This ink is fine for very basic printing needs; it's economical. Just don't get it wet, or try to use an overliner on it (sorry students and researchers)!!! My 8-year old Canon BJ-200e (which uses the BC-02 Black cartridge) is far superior in terms of water resistance! You would think that after 8 years, Canon would improve their product, not make it worse! I wish all printer makers would go with Pigment Black Ink that is very water resistant.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's black ink - what more do you need to know
Black ink cartridge for your Canon S300 Printer. Decent ink. Decent printer. Decent results. Can't go wrong with OEM. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to Install, Gives Perfect Color...
....I use it for my Canon Multipass C755 and it never fails to give me the best print and color replication. 4-0 out of 5 stars the performance is good unless you want a laser one
this product is great to go with its BJC-250 printer, i've using my printer for almost 4 years. Most of the time to print homework, it perform quite well. I think it's really good if not compare with a laser printer, since all your words on your documents will become totally "dark" if it gets wet!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best There Is!
I tried a generic brand for my BJC1000 and had a very bad experience all because I was trying to $Save--but guess what as the old saying goes "you get just what you pay for". I will stick with Canon and be assured of the quality.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good value for a reliable product
This is probably my 8th cartridge, & I like the quality of its printouts. The ink is very dark & prints well on plain white paper or textured resume stock. I've paid anything from $22 to $28 for this product at regular bookstores, so this is a good price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good black cartridge
This cartridge is a bit expensive, but cheaper than most black cartridges produced by other printer companies. The black quality is good, and it lasts for a fair number of pages.

2-0 out of 5 stars ink yeild
Sorry very disapointed I only got 280 copies out of my ink cartridge .When I purchased my Cannon 1000 Printer I was told I would get approx. 1000 copies, when I got home and read the manual it said 500 O.K. but I only got 480. am disapointed ... Read more
