5-0 out of 5 stars Really Handy
I got this for my new iPod and I'm surprised to see how great it is! Firsat I thought this set isn't that great but when I got it I just realized how perfect it is. Awsome quality! There is this option to adjust the iPod in many different ways. There are two or three cups, come with it, so you can just change them if they didn't fit your cupholder. Holds the iPod really good so it, iPod, wont be damaged. You can also get these from eBay if you think that the price isn't worth it cause you cacn get much cheaper from eBay. Beleive Me! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Good although it has limiting factors
Lets face it: The IPOD battery just doesn't measure up. It is supposed to last for up to 8 hours of music, but hasn't survived past two hours before it dies. Thats why this Belkin external battery pack is so attractive. It's been on my wishlist for months, and when I finally got it, I was disappointed. Although it has increased my battery life over 6 hours more, it still is not as streamlined as the IPOD itself. It just adds some "dead weight" to it. This being said, it is NOT very portable. This Backup battery pack is great if you are stuck with long delays at an airport somewhere. However, if you are planning to use this on your morning jogs around the block, skip it.
Overall, this Battery Backup is a helpful addition to the IPOD, but it's size and weight really are limiting factors.

1-0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk.
I bought this thinking it'd be the panacea to the brevity of the iPod's battery life. It is. When it works.

•More time to listen to music.

•Bulky. Power connector should be integrated, and the device should somehow fit around the iPod. While I have not had any bad experiences with suction cups holding expensive equipment, they are simply illogical considering that you are entrusting them with a $3-500 piece of equipment full of your life's work and all of your music.

Here's the kicker, and I realize that I'm not the only one who has had this problem:

I thought it was just a fluke when my battery pack's springs melted and I smelled burning plastic. Fortunately I haven't seriously burned myself, but cbBut it happened three times. Belkin phone support was no help, e-mail support didn't even address the issue, they just said "call us for help", and Belkin refused to replace the product.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has been helpful(I recently filed a complaint/report), but Belkin is still quiet. Oh well. The Voice Recorder for the iPod is also pretty bad. Stay away unless you enjoy getting burns and wasting batteries.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bad batteries!
To the person who had two of these burn up on him...I had a similar experience. My iPod kept locking up with the battery pack plugged in, and the pack got HOT. I replaced the batteries, and suddenly everything was fine. I was curious so I put the original batteries (the ones that came in the package with the battery pack) in a battery tester and got some really strange results...the tester gauge started bouncing all over the scale! It seems that the included batteries are funky in the sense that they don't supply a steady source of power. My new batteries, in the same tester, move the gauge and it STAYS PUT, rock solid. I can see how an iPod with an unsteady power source would have problems. It seems fine now.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good but way to BIG!
I got one when I was in Canada because my ipod ran out of juice and there was no where to charge it up... Simply put ... its just 'TOO BIG' for practical and on-the-move use!... there is no way you can walk around with your ipod and the battery pack in your pocket... its stupid... it is good for flights but that's about it...Belkin have made a smart looking and high quality product but the size is just stupid in my opinion...but saying that I wouldn't need to carry around a bloody battery pack if Apple improved the ipod battery life.

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor Design
I was so excited when I bought my iPod and I went right out and purchased the Belkin charger. Three units (and a burned finger) later I finally returned it for a refund. The first unit lasted about two hours before it stopped working completely. The others lasted only slightly longer. The smell of burining rubber was the clue.

What I finally figured out was that when the unit was placed on a flat surface with its flat side down it overheated to "very hot" and fried the electronics. My guess is that the flat side is the only way to dissipate the heat. Therefore, when it's on a flat surface it just heats up until it burns up. But with no warnings there was no way to know. When I finally figured it out I deceided that I needed a backup device that wasn't so fussy about which side was up or down.

This is the poorest designed device I have ever purchased which is saying a lot for 61 year old life-long gadget guy. It's a shame I have to be so negative but maybe that will help someone from wasting time and money. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars USB printer cable
I recently needed to buy a USB cable for my new printer and I found out that there are many USB cables at very different prices.
So, doing a search I found the "Belkin 10FT USBA/USBB Device Cable" but I was not sure if it would work for a printer. Since it was the less expensive I decided to give it a try.

I'm happy because the cable works great with my USB printer and I found out that the cable actually exceeds the features displayed on amazon site.

The cable manufacturer part number is F3U133-10.
With the following features:
- Hi-speed data transfer to 480Mbps
- 10 FT (3m)
- A plug/ B plug
- High performance 20-gauge power wires.
- USB logo guarantees cables are 100% compliant with current USB specifications (Works with all USB devices A/B plug).
- Works with USB 2.0
- Connect a USB 2.0 or 1.X device to your computer.
- Belkin lifetime warranty.
- Gold plated copper contacts provide maximum conductivity and minimizes data loss.

According to the manufacturer site you can connect your USB printer, scanner, hard drive and more to your computer. As I said, it works great with my USB printer.

I definitively recommend it because I got the less expensive (good length of 10ft) and great quality option for a USB printer cable. I'm also happy because the cable specifications exceeded my expectations for the money I paid.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome price and quality
I don't know why USB cables such as these go for such high prices at Officemax, Target, etc. A regular 6ft USB 2.0 A/B cable at Target costs $10! At Officemax the "gold plated" 10ft USB 2.0 A/B cables are $27!!! Bestbuy was also expensive despite that they are a category killer in electronics.

This cable is great and has a lifetime warranty.

Bottomline: buy your stuff from, where you TRULY get the lowest price possible.

SUPPORT AMAZON.COM and get your stuff here!!

5-0 out of 5 stars cheap on Amazon & nowhere else
cheapest on amazon. found the same at officemax locallay for $30. what a joke.

Amazon is simply the best in price & service. returining has been been easier in my life.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just what the PC doctor ordered
This USB cable is an integral component of my home MIDI studio. I use it to connect my PC to a Midiman MidiSport 8x8 MIDI Interface/Patch Bay. The cable is sturdy, easy to install, and reliably routes my MIDI data.

Best of all, you can't beat Amazon's price! It costs less here than it does at retail computer "superstores."

5-0 out of 5 stars great buy
one cannot write poetically about cords, but I can say this is super value. Much less than I saw on the market. Works great, quality is superior to what I was checking out for comparisons, and I was so THRILLED to have the longer length.

If you need extra USB cords, this is a good deal. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars PERFECT SOUND if you hook it up correctly.
This thing is great! This is basically a "dock" for the car. It powers and charges the ipod, while providing an audio jack to hook up to your car stereo without having to plug into the headphone jack of the ipod. Now to clear up a point from other reviews. A few reviewers were giving this product LOW rating, not because of problems with the adapter, but because of their own faulty hook up. Ever notice the hiss you get from playing a tape? Well guess what, if you hook up anything through a tape adapter, yeah, you're gonna get that same hiss. Did you notice that FM doesn't sound as clear as a cd? Well same thing applies here. It's gonna sound like FM if you use an FM transmitter. The noise is coming from the tape and fm adapters, NOT the Belkin adapter. If you have a line input in your deck, or buy an adapter to add a line in to the back of you deck, you'll get PERFECT sound. It's as clear as any cd i have (depending on the compression of the mp3). I simply spliced into my cd changer's audio (since i no longer use the cd changer because of my ipod), and now I get crystal clear sound from my ipod thanks to the Belkin Adapter. I was actually suprised at the clarity after reading some of these reviews, but I assumed it was because of the way they had it hooked up. I used to use the headphone jack before, but I had to turn it up almost all the way. With the belkin, I can now adjust the audio so that it's the same level as my radio. Once you have it set the same, you really don't need to adjust the adapter's volume ever again. It's nice and loud now! Hopefully you can hook yours up the same, without noisy adapters.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great when working with RCA to Mini Jack Adapter
From my Car Stereo Head Unit, I bought a 15 dollar rca adapter to convert the CD changer port to a standard RCA Input. Go out and buy a 5 dollar RCA to Mini cable and connect that from the RCA adapter to the Auto Kit. Connect your IPOD to the Auto Kit, and away you go. The best sound you can get from your IPOD. No static Cassette, no low sound FM transmitter. Just straight RCA input into your Car Stereo.<br /> Total cost approx. 55 dollars to get the best out of your ipod while charging. After buying two cables and the Auto Kit. 1.5 years and still going...<br /> Worth the buy.

3-0 out of 5 stars Get the DLO charger and save yoursefl $10
This device is not worth the $30+ since the amplifier function is so hit and miss. With my car stereo & iPod mini the signal produced from the "amped" line-out on the charger is about 1/50th of the volume produced just by hooking the tape adapter into the normal audio-out on the iPod. I didn't even think the charger's line out was working at first until I cranked the stereo all the way up with the "amped" line out volume on max. Basically, I paid an extra $10 for a non-feature. In hindsight I should have ordered the DLO charger only for $20 from somewhere else because all I have is a charger.

5-0 out of 5 stars cool product
i bought this product despite the reviews cuz the majority of people reviewing this product used the fm transmitter. i don't use that thing. i use a genric cassette adapter and works like a beauty. i reccomend this highly

1-0 out of 5 stars Too much noise
A risk. Installed in my 2004 Saab it makes tons of noise through the speakers. Installed in my buddy's Jeep (using tape adapter) it makes no noise. So it's a risk to buy this, depending on the electrical of your car. But I can't recommend this item. BTW, I put an email into Belkin tech support for help, and never heard back. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars ummm
I give it two stars because it worked very well right out of the box, installed really well everything.... But when I tried to transfer files from my Tungsten T2, it wouldn't let me...I'm sending it back because I got it for that reason, so I didn't have to be locked up on the computer all day, I could go anywhere in my house and work on my palm, but because I can't get it to transfer files, it's of no use...

5-0 out of 5 stars I am actually putting my Nokia phone's camera to use!
This device installed easily on my WinXP computer. After a few minutes I was putting all my Nokia phone pictures onto my computer. I also uploaded a few pictures into my phone. NICE!!

Now my fellow disc partners all want to buy this gadget so they can get their photos of me retrieving my discs from water traps onto their desktops.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great connecting my Nokia 3650 to Win XP PC.
great widget - within 10 minutes of ripping open the box I was downloading my Nokia 3650 camera full-o-pix to my Win XP PC.
It is plugged into a USB port on the back of my PC located under my home office desk and it easily connects from anywhere nearby. IMHO it is an easy install, works as advertised, and it is a brand name product with decent documentation, support, etc.. Doug

5-0 out of 5 stars Plug and play on my iMac.
The Belkin F8T003 Bluetooth USB Adapter worked for me right out of the box. I set it up on my iMac (using the Mac OS X Bluetooth Setup Assistant) and was up and running in no time at all. Had a flawless connection to my Nokia 3650 cell phone immediately. I can't say how it would work with a PC, but the disc included has software for that purpose. I've been transfering pictures and ringtones back and forth all week.

This one gets a big thumbs up from me. Though the flashing blue light could stand to be toned down a notch or two.

5-0 out of 5 stars Get the clutter off your desk
Many don't know that their USB devices can actually reside some distance away from their computers, because they've become used to the limitations placed upon them by the cords that come with their peripherals. But this cable makes it possible to achieve a balance between functionality and aesthetics. With this Belkin component, you can now think of setting up an entire room as an information hub, rather than just huddling your computer station into a cramped corner. For those who have multiple platforms in one area, this extension cord will make it possible to more easily share USB devices without having to buy an additional USB switcher. Just plug and unplug your devices at will with the additional length.

If there's anything negative to say about the product, it's that you don't have much choice as to manufacturer. In a real sense, that doesn't matter: you're going to be happy with what Belkin has on offer. But it would be at least psychologically comforting to have more of a choice.

4-0 out of 5 stars Some should understand what they are buying
I have read some of the reviews of people saying that this cable does not fit their printer - of course not. It is an 'Extension Cable' (A to A) - the end of the USB cable that fits into devices is the 'B' end - this cable is strictly an extension of an existing cable. Also for those looking to extend the reach of their USB devices - USB standards are very specific as to how long a cable can be from device to hub. According to, the maximum length of a full-speed device cord is 5m (full power devices have a cord that can detach at both ends) and for low-speed is 3m (low-power devices are permenantly attached at one end - like a mouse). I hope this helps some consumers clear up the confusion.

5-0 out of 5 stars SUPER FAST SHIPPING!!
I bought this with the Lexar Media 256mb jump drive pro (which took forever to ship, still not here, etc) but since the usb flash drive was over $25, when I bought the cable, I got free shipping also. The cable came within 3 days even though it was free shipping. They sent it separately for free also, and that was great. I just need the drive now so I can put the cable into use.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's AMAZING....
...That such an excellent piece of equipment could be 'reviewed' by persons that are computer challenged. These JOKERS should seek help before buying a product and writing negative reviews because THEY bought the wrong product! GEEZ!

This USB extension cable has performed beyond my expectations for over 8 months. There has been NO noticeable [at least not to me] degradation in performance to my accessories [digital camera, webcam and JUMPDRIVE ] by using this extension cord and it means that I do not have to be fiddling behind or leaning down in front of the computer to attach and detach the equipment.

It is a GREAT buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product!
I keep my Playstation 2 on the opposite end of the living room from the TV, using lengths of coaxial cable to connect an RF adapter.
My son got an EyeToy for Christmas (a USB camera that hooks up to the system) and I had to keep moving the PS2 every time he wanted to use it. I decided to try 2 lengths of USB extension cable to eliminate this problem.
With the extensions and the wire that comes attached to the EyeToy, I'd say that there is at least 24 feet of cable and the EyeToy works fine! The package even says "exceeds USB standards."
I would strongly recommend this product if you need some extra space for any of your USB devices. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy it for the deal!
WOW!! A good, solid 50' cat.5 cable for 12.99??? I was looking at 10' cables for 19.99 the other day that were just as good as this.

Bottom line: A good cable thats dirt cheap!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good Ethernet Cable
I needed a cable to go across my house, and this one did that job fine. I was really afraid I would have to pay a lot of money for a 50' cable, but this cable proved me wrong. It is not expensive(...). The snagless connectors were very useful when I was dragging the wire under my floors (though some tape probably could have done the job). I have not noticed any loss in performance because of this cable.

2-0 out of 5 stars DECEPTION
Yeah sure this cable does what it's supposed to. And it's only 12.99. Yeah right that's before the 8.00 shipping and handling you pay Tiger direct. BS

5-0 out of 5 stars Does what it shoould
Its a good price for a 50' cable and it is functional. For an ethernet cord thats about all you can say.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pre made cables versus a big roll
I bought these Belkin cables. They are very nice quality. They seem heftier than a lot of the other cables. My system analyst neighbor mentioned that he prefers to buy the 1000 foot roll. He runs them to wall outlets, then uses the 7 foot or 14 foot snap in cable from the wall to the PC. That way, you don't have to buy a 40 dollar crimping tool.
You can't solder these cables. They require a metal to metal contact, and lead-solder doesn't qualify. Also, it is critical to keep them spiraled, all the way up to the end. Even when attaching, instructions call for twisting them right up to the connection.
Since the tech instructions, tell you to keep them down to under 350 feet, these cables, whether they are long or short, are in the right lengths.
I know Amazon doesn't print prices in their reviews, but they have the local major chain office supply stores beat hands down. The 50 foot roll was half again as much locally.
These are the Category 5e cables. They give you a better return feed, which results in better overall performance. So insist on 5e instead of just 5. I initially bought some wall plates from Radio Shack that were Category 3, then I returned those for the snap in option Category 5. Those were returned also, when I went to Home Depot (of all places to go networking) and they had the complete Leviton line of 5e accessories.
If I had to do it over again, I would still buy the Belkin 50 footers. I don't want to have a 500 foot roll of ethernet cable hanging around.
These are tops. Gold plated connectors, Snag free ends, that protect that little lock in tab on the ends. You know the frustration of unsnarling a phone wire, out of a wiring mess, and the little tab bends over backwards, never to work properly again. Well Belkin built twin arches over the sides to prevent just that. Way to go. Highly recommended, good stuff, for a good price. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't beat the price.
This thing sells for over [dollar amount]at a retail store. As of this writing, I bought it for[much less]. Belkin's cables are pretty good and I haven't had problems. They also offer lifetime warranty so you can't beat that either.

It worked on my USB 2.0 video capture even though the vendor didn't suggest I go over 6' but according to USB specifications, it still works fine. This length is the max I believe without any additional hubs...

4-0 out of 5 stars Uhhhh its a cable
My big thing is all about price cause there isnt much noticable difference cable brand to cable brand for the average user. This same EXACT Belkin one was almost triple the price locally. Works fine great value . Woo Hoo !

5-0 out of 5 stars it's usb 2.0!!
I've been using Belkin USB cables for some time now, and have found them to be consistently high in quality. I saw the price here for this cable and the length, and took the chance on it as I am purchasing a USB 2.0 capable scanner. The cable arrived in the retail Belkin package and it was USB 2.0 rated cable. Pleasant surprise - especially at this price :)

3-0 out of 5 stars USB CABLE MATH for WEB CAM and other USB DEVICES
This 16 feet (4.88 meter) long USB A to USB B cable = ASIN B00004Z5PY = was just right to extend my WebCam 15 feet (4.75 meter) cable (for 3Com 00371800 HomeConnect PC Digital Camera = ASIN B00000JDHV =) to 31 feet (9.45 meter). To "connect" the two cable bought the Linksys USB 4 Port Hub Universal Serial Bus = B00004Z6PI which has an external power supply, making sure that the 31 feet length cable (not recommended for WebCam) is working fine. The only thing I have to complain about is the small package of the 16 feet cable which squeezes the volume of the whole length to a fist size. So you will get a zigzag-worm instead a straight point-to-point connection. However, the cable works fine. I straighten it carefully with a soft towel after I had it on the sun to warm it up. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Very good deal.
This switch is wonderful. I was worried at first that is was so inexpensive (many KVMs are much more) but it works well. I use it to switch between two computers, one running XP Pro and the other running Server 2003. Both are set to a resolution of 1280x1024 at 85Hz refresh rate. I found that the monitor works best if both computers are set to the same resolution. Switching between the two is painless, using either the switch on the KVM or the keyboard shortcuts. The KVM can also automatically switch but because I leave my computer running Server 2003 on all the time I need to manually switch back and forth. Considering all the cables ar eincluded I think this is a great deal. Just be sure you need the PS2 model. If you have a USB mouse or keyboard then get a KVM that takes USB inputs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product for the Price
I bought this switch so I could share a Dell Monitor, Dell ps2 mouse and a Dell ps2 keyboard with my dell desktop and my toshiba laptop.

Plugged it in and everything worked perfectly! It came with 2 sets of cables which is all you need to get this switch working. I have seen one set of cables go for $25 in the stores, so 2 sets of cables and a switch all for under $40 is a great buy!

I also like that you can switch between the two machines using hot keys, since the switch is buried under 1000 cables under my desk.

The design of the switch requires that something be plugged in on every side of the unit, which makes it tough to set it on a table top or desk. However, for the price it's not that big of an issue.

2-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work with IntelliMouse
I ended up getting an iView USB KVM for $80 (not including extra USB and video cables) that allows me to control 4 computers, including a web server running Linux, and 2 IBM ThinkPad laptops. All computers respond to the extra buttons of the IntelliMouse.

See my review of the Microsoft Natural Pro keyboard for more information.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not for Laptops or docking stations
The packaging indicates that it works with all PC's, so I bought it and connected it to my Desktop and my Laptop. It worked on occasion when I switched to the laptop, and since the documentation said it worked with all PC's I figured I had a driver issue, and would get to it when I could. It wasn't until I called Belkins tech support (very hard to get through to by the way) that I was informed that it does not work with laptops nor is there a fix. The only reason it's still in use in my office is because I need a monitor extension cord.

Nice boat anchor.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not for IBM Thinkpad users with docking station...
I thought I read somewhere that the Belkin KVM worked with a Thinkpad docking station but if I did it doesn't. I decided on the Belkin over the IO Gear hoping it would work but I lost the bet. On top of that it doesn't work well with my wireless keyboard either. The keyboard intermittently loses it's connection and you discover that if you type like me, looking at the keyboard, you can lose half of what you're typing if you don't check once and a while. In a very typical set up this might work fine and I actually liked the beeping that others complained about because I have the KVM under my desk and the noise level is just right. All in all this was an inexpensive gamble and I have lots of very nice spare cables. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best price around
I had to buy a printer cable for my Epson 890. When I priced around, this could not be beat.

WILL NOT WORK WITH PARALLEL PORT ONLY COMPUTERS For the person that had a previous review, this is a cable that will only work on a printer that has a USB outlet. This is not for printers that are strictly parallel port hook ups.

ENDS FOR PRINTER AND COMPUTER DIFFERENT The USB end that is for the printer if you look in the photo, is the small end to the left. It is only about 3/16" wide and shorter than that. The USB end for the computer is the big end to the right in the picture(about 3/8" wide and shorter than that).

MANY USB PRINTERS HAVE BOTH USB AND PARALLEL PORT CONNECTIONS Many USB printers have both a parallel port cable connection as well. That is one of those huge flat type ones (roughly 2" wide).

This may sound simple for all you computer experts out there, but with the plentitude of this type of cable or that, it can get very confusing.

Great buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Even Better Value Now...
Psst... A little secret - part # F3U133-06 is now a Belkin Hi-Speed USB (USB 2.0) cable and is backwards compatible with USB 1.x devices. This makes the price that offers even more amazing (thanks Amazon)! Purchase this for most USB devices (1.x or 2.0) and if you ever upgrade to a 2.0 device later you won't have to buy an additional cable. You also get the exceptional quality of a Belkin product, so you know it will work the first time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ok it's a cable!! :o)
I do not really know what to say about this item except that it is a cable. Yep it is!!! :o)

However, when I bought my printer, I didn't know the USB cable didn't come with it (Mister salesperson at Sears didn't feel obligated to tell me I guess!!), so I had to find one. After looking around I found out that Belkin was the most famous and reliable brand for computer cables, and others... Brand doesn't make a big difference for me usually, but as far as electronics are concerned I want to be able to get the best, so I went for Belkin... The Belkin website didn't really offer the best price (I wouldn't have thought so!!). However, Amazon did!!

I've had the cable for about 2 months... I actually forgot about it because I never had any problems with it. The connection between the printer and my computer was done right away, without ANY problems.

I would definitely go for Belkin again if I needed to.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a USB 1.0 AND 2.0 cable.
The product description doesn't state this, but this is a USB 2.0 cable meaning you get access to all the extra speed USB 2.0 offers. It's also backward compatible with USB 1.0.

The cable is dark grey (it matches the 2004 model Dells nicely), very sturdy, and has a great solid connection when plugged in.

The price is low, the quality is not. This is an excellent value.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's JUST a cable!
Unless you have some special requirements, any standard USB 2.0 cable should work fine. Try pccablesdotcom or cablesforlessdotcom for generic cables... for much less money! Oh yeh, their generic cables work just as well as some over-priced name brands too! (And just for the record I am nothing but a satisfied customer of Amazon and the other sites mentioned above...) ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars No Battery Replacement and No Warranty without Invoice
Just under 1 year of use the Belkin 1200 Universal UPS replace battery alarm went off.Contacted technical support, they confirmed that the battery needed replaced, but in order for them to provide warranty I had to produce an Invoice that was less than 1 year old since the battery warranty is only 1 year. I cant find the receipt so I am SOL.

And Belkin does not provide a replacement battery, so I am SOL there too.

And if you find a 3rd party replacement battery, you have to completely dis-assemble the UPS to get the battery out... very poor design in this day in age when its typical for the cheapiest of UPS to have pop/slide out batteries.

Its clear to me that this hs been designed to be a throw away UPS... which isnt fair in my book b/c ayone buying at the 1000+ level will want battery replacement.

And I too can hear the humm noise this thing makes that other users reported... its very noisy even in my server room.

My conclusion, complete waste of money... and since Belkin screwed me I wont be buying Belkin anymore regardless of the better price. But hey, you get what you pay for.. you want to gamble go ahead. Im going to get the APC Back-UPS RS BR1500.

3-0 out of 5 stars At first I was very pleased, now I'm somewhat jaded
I received the Belkin F6C120-UNV as a gift in December, 2002. It worked like a charm for 1-1/2 years. I occasionally put it through a deep-cycle test just to make sure things were in good shape and my system and monitor and peripherals would run for about 20 minutes before running out of juice.. ..plenty of time to clean up, save, print a few things, and shut down the system.

I even had my wireless access point and cable modem connected, so I would stay online for a while without power in the house (through my desktop or wireless notebook).

The only annoying behavior was that the unit will beep when you are running on battery power and there's no way to configure it not to beep. That means if you lose power during the middle of the night for a more than a couple seconds, it will beep until you tell it to stop beeping. Very annoying. Luckily we only lose power about 3-4 times a year.

The bad news; we lost power last week and the unit shut off in about 5-6 seconds! After recharging overnight, it will no longer hold a reasonable load (of say 25-30%) for more than 6-7 seconds, definitely not enough time to shut down cleanly. None of the trouble indicators were lit and the battery replacement indicator was not on. However, it was clear that the batteries were unable to handle the load any more. I learned the hard way (according to Belkin) that the batteries in this unit cannot be replaced! Also, I searched for after-market batteries and none of the popular sites list this model.

Lesson learned: many of the UPS systems out there have batteries that are not (or not easily) replaceable!

To Belkin's credit, they're replacing the entire unit free of charge (since it's only half way through it's 3 year warrantee period) even though it was a gift.

btw, in reference to the other reviewer (who has posted their review on lots of sites) who claim that the 3-second power on/off button is inconvient.. ..somebody doesn't understand the purpose of a UPS system. You're not supposed to turn the UPS off, why would anybody use the UPS to turn their PC on and off? Also, the only "hum" I ever hear is when the voltate drops too low and the AVR kicks in (which is a lifesaver if your power drops when the house A/C compressor kicks in).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great price and performance for a 1200VA UPS
I'm not sure why one of the other reviewers would use a UPS to power on/off their desktop. The purpose of a UPS is the regulate electric line input and to provide power during either a power glitch/loss or total blackout.

This UPS does the job perfectly.I run a couple of home linux servers used for httpd, smtp, pop3, imap, mysqld, online game server, etc.In other words, they're always on.My house constantly gets hit by "power glitches"; the power blinks off then rigth back on at least once a week.Of course, this is bad news for any electronic equipment, especially computers.I don't mind resetting my clocks all over the house when this happens, but it's unacceptable for computers (not that I have to reset their clocks :-)).

I had a small APC 350VA before, that was absolutely horrible. It would help for the power glitches that I have, but when the power went out for more than 1 minute, it couldn't even power up one desktop cpu and a 17" CRT.It got to the point where my wife would call it the chinese torture device (no hard feelings), because it was constantly beeping when the power went off and back on.It would not reset itself, and I'd have to turn it off and back on to get it to stop. That really defeats the purpose of the UPS, as I'd have to shutdown the computer connected to it to do this.

Back to the Belkin.I currenlty have 3 desktop computers connected, a 19" lcd and 100 MB switch.I keep the USB connected to my windows desktop. The Bulldog software is very slick. It can show you current input/output stats, as well as a log of activity.Very nice function.I've had a few glitches knock the power off and on, with not one problem in the past month.

Fortunatley, I have not had to test the UPS for it's battery power in minutes.Right now, it will shutdown my windows PC when it detects and outage.I'd like to be able to write a small script that can shutdown my linux machines as well.

You can't beat this UPS for the money.APCs are way overpriced, and the Belkin stacks up to their performance hands down.I work for a nation wide computer company that uses APCs, and I'd much rather spend my money on the Belkin.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent UPS protection at a unbeatable price
I have two of these in my office and I love them. The only "real" criticism the other review had was he had to hold the power button down for 3 seconds to power the unit off. How lazy can someone be that 3 seconds is too long to press a button? The point was irrelevant considering you should never power your UPS off to make sure the batteries always have adequate power - and once they batteries are 1/2 to 1/25 low I would recommend replacing them.
I've used APC UPS's and after trying the Belkins I will never waste my money on an APC again. The Belkins provide great line conditioning with their AVR and the included software is more than enough to handle blackout situations. The operation of the Belkin units is completely silent unless your power drops below 105 volts, then they beep and produce a slight buzzing noise as they condition the line (as with every UPS that actually works). If you have a power outlet that requires excessive conditioning, I'd either move your equipment to a more stable outlet or call out an electrician to increase the amps on your outlet.
If you want to protect your system from power surges, brown outs, and black outs - I couldn't recommend the F6C120-UNV enough. If you need a UPS with remote management software for an enterprise situation, then you might be better off with an APC unit - otherwise, don't throw your money away, get the Belkin!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good UPS If You Don't Mind the Small Inconveniences.
I have owned the F6C120-UNV for about 6 months.I also own a PK Electronics 1000VA and 500VA.The 500VA is now connected to my TV and VCR.PK Electronics has since gone out of business. While the PK's only have a serial port and probably lower quality software, I prefer them over the Belkin.I have not installed any software which comes with my UPS's.My PK 1000VA will switch on immediately when I need it and it makes no noise at all.

Unfortunately, this is not true with my 1200VA Belkin.I always turn my PC off at night.I never leave it on when I go to bed or leave the house.Whenever I need to turn my PC on or off, I must press the tiny bubble switch for 3 seconds which is a real bother.Every single day, sometimes twice a day, I must press and hold the tiny bubble switch for 3 seconds. When I want to use my PC, I want to switch it on immediately.I don't want to stand there with my finger on the switch.I have a fairly convenient layout for my computer room, with the UPS's on a shelf one level above the floor. Can you imagine how other owners must crawl under their desks to turn these things on?Unlike the PK's, the Belkin's switch is not located on the top front of the unit. The bubble switch can be difficult to find in a darkened area, where both UPS's are indeed located.Sometimes I must use my flashlight to locate the switch.

Unlike both my PK's, the Belkin emits a powerful low frequency hum. This hum can be heard when the PC is off.If you have a smaller computer room where you also do your studying, watch TV or movies, you will hear this hum. When I am at my desk, the Belkin is less than 3½ feet from me.Even when I am 4½ feet away watching TV or a movie, I can clearly hear this hum.

Replacing the two batteries for the Belkin F6C120-UNV is not easy. You must take the entire unit apart to remove them.In fact, I could find no information on battery removal in the instructions or Belkin's website. Most other UPS makers will give you instructions on battery replacement.Belkin seems to purposely make it a mystery.

As I mentioned before, I have never installed UPS software.I have read online reviews regarding Belkin's "Bulldog Plus" software.I am sure it is very good. However, I simply don't need it.For completeness, I will mention the other features the Belkin has.The Belkin has 2 RJ11/RJ45 and 2 surge-only outlets, 4 battery backup/surge outlets, and both USB and serial interface ports for use with their software. The Belkin has a 3 year parts and labor warranty. The F6C120-UNV includes a $500K connected equipment warranty and a "data recovery warranty", although I am skeptical they have ever paid out $500K.Finally, as with most other UPS's, the Belkin includes automatic voltage regulation (AVR).Essentially, AVR smooths out the voltage from your house to your PC, maintaining an average of 110-120 volts while eliminating spikes above 120 volts and dropouts below 110 volts.Belkin claims the F6C120-UNV can provide "up to 100 minutes backup time."I'm sure this is true, if you merely connected a 10 watt bulb to it.A more realistic figure would be 10 to 20 minutes for a standard tower system.

If you need an inexpensive, feature-rich UPS, the Belkin F6C120-UNV will suit your needs. However, if you do a lot of studying and are particular about your environment, don't buy this UPS.Moreover, if you want an "instant on" system, this UPS is not for you.I doubt I will buy any more Belkin UPS's.My next UPS will be the APC XS 1500VA.The APC has all the features the Belkin has and more. The APC is an "instant on" UPS and the button is conveniently located at the top front. The APC battery is easy to replace, simply by sliding the bottom front down, unplugging the battery, and pulling it out.The APC is a more expensive UPS than the Belkin so you might want to wait until APC has another rebate program for it.I believe the APC also uses a more expensive battery.

Based on features and price, I give the Belkin F6C120-UNV a marginal pass. However, my next UPS will be an APC XS 1500VA.

3-0 out of 5 stars Value depends on where you live
Having owned this device for about a month - I would recomend it with some reservations. the first caveat - of course is the limited number of FM bands that it broadcasts in. If you live in an area where one of the bands in the 88s is free - you will probably have decent results with the device. If all the 88s are full - the device still works - but it is like listening to a radio station that is almost out of range. There is noise - and occasionally you will here other broadcasts coming through your speakers.

The second issue is that scince the transmitter is rather weak - you need to turn up the volume on your ipod to at least 75 percent in order to get a strong signal, and this of course eats up substantially more battery life, and unfortunately - means that you get poor results if you use the line out on an ipod dock (which is probably why belkin put a small amplifier on the line out of its car adapter)

My recomendation for this product would really be based on why you want it. If you want it to play your mps in your car only, - and dont really move from city to city much - and all the frequencys in the 88s are taken up locally - then I would recomend trying another way - either a cassette adapter - or seeing if your car stereo can be wired for an audio input jack.

However - if you are traveling alot in rental cars - this is great as you can never be out of luck if you are stuck with a car without a cassette player. nad if the city you live in has one of the 88s open - you will probably be in good shape.

4-0 out of 5 stars A nice idea
I don't have a cassette deck or cd player in my car. I purchased this to use with my ipod mini. The sound quality is like a car radio, it gets static-y and cuts out sometimes depending on the area I'm in. Most of the time it works great if I plug it in and find a place in my car where the ipod can stay without being moved. The choice of radio frequencies is limited to 4 stations in the 88s, and although it is best to have a free frequency, I've been able to get it to play on a frequency that is being used, but that only happened once.
A mac users magazine had reviews for several different fm transmitters. It said what I found out about it: for the price, it's worth checking out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bought from Wal-mart
Bought from wal-mart under $20. Works great with my MP3 and copmuter because I am listening on my BOSE 12 lifestyle. Also on my chevy venture. I got almost one of my friend by fooling that INDIA's SONG palying on FM 88.1 while I was tranfering from my MP3 to FM. He checked his CAR and aprtment radio and call next door neghbour to check INDIAIN song on FM. They all checked and they believed me.........

After 10 minutes of playing RADIO FM I told truth and guess what
EVERYBODY using this FM trnasmitter. One using his for laptop, other using from MP3, another using for DVD palyer audio in his expedition...........

100% satisfied all. Buy without worry.

1-0 out of 5 stars It's Awful
I'm a gadgeteer. I play with all kinds of digital and electronics equipment. I'm an amateur radio operator, I write web pages, I run a large corporate network but I can't make this work satisfactorily. I have to agree with Joel's review. While the concept is solid, this unit just does not provide clear audio. I've got it plugged in to my computer right now and can't get a clear signal from any radio in the vacinity. Moving the TuneCast causes alternating static. Just don't buy this, find a better device to do this task.

1-0 out of 5 stars Belkin FuzzCast
I Purchased the Belkin Tunecast FM Transmitter primarily too use my iPod whilst in my car. I would also like too use it in my house as i thought it would be quite convenient not too have too be using a line in all the time.

I was very disapointed with the performance of this product, even on it's clearest frequency setting the sound quality was terrible. Moving the unit around resulted in sporadic signal (And this was with the unit less than one foot away from the reciever!)

I tried it on 4 different radio recievers, with 2 new set of batteries (One NiMh rechargeable set) and still had the same issues occur.

My Area has no transmissions on any of the frequencies that this device uses (88.1,88.3,88.5 & 88.7)

This device had loads of potential, but ultimately proved very disapointing. I have yet too try the Belkin TuneCast 2 however.. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars First time with a bluetooth headset
A very short range and low audio quality have led me to rate this device very low. I'm a first time headset purchaser, so I don't know if this is typical or not which is why I gave the headset a little bit of room by rating it a 2 instead of a 1.

Sometimes when I call someone with this headset, they ask me right away what the noise in the background is...I've been told it sounds like lawn mowers are racing around while on it.Usually, if someone says they hear noises like that, or they can barely hear me, I'll call them back (on the headset) and the interference will be gone. They say it's much better, but it sounds like I'm talking to them from the bathroom, which seems to be as good as this headset gets.I was previously using the Jabra BT200 and no one ever asked if I was on a headset.Everyone agreed that the sound quality of the BT200 was as good as using the cell phone itself. Not so with this Belkin... at its best, it still sounds tinny to the person on the other end. Now, the reason I'm not going to take it back:It weighs under 20 grams, and the moldable over-the-ear hook is much more comfortable and stable than the Jabra.I always knew I was wearing the Jabra, but I forget I'm wearing this Belkin all the time. And since the headset is for my convenience, not the person I'm talking to, the lower sound quality isn't that much of a problem.I've been using it for 3 days with a Sony Ericsson T610, voice dial enabled. It paired on the first try, voice dial works fine, very user friendly.I just wish it had the option to turn off the slowly blinking blue LED.It looks very cool, but can be annoying at night. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Almost everything you need in one package
If you're heading to Europe, this kit will give you everything you need to make sure your equipment works over there. All of the pieces fit nicely in the included case, making for easier packing.

The only downside is that the included power converter isn't particularly powerful (55 watts I believe). I ended up picking up a second power converter for handling things like laptop and camcorder chargers.

4-0 out of 5 stars doesn't come with a cable
I expected it would come with a cable to hook up to the USB device, but it doesn't. So I am ordering a third cable....

2-0 out of 5 stars HW ok, user interface under Mac OS X is poor
In short it works, however ... the software under Mac OS X is very poor. To switch between the computers sharing the USB peripheral you need to have the software running, it uses space in your Dock and you still have to use a hot-key sequence. There is no menu option in the user interface to do the switch, and no help menu. In fact the entire user interface is quite unprofessional, the "About" menu is "About Hello" ???, which brings up a window with hello, hello, hello .. They don't even provide the manual or a README on the CD.

5-0 out of 5 stars It works
Something went right today. Hooked it up and it worked. They also sell 4 port to one devise model too. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the best computer repair kits for the price
I've been fixing computer for longer than I care to admit and have gone through quite a few tool kits. This kits has all the basics: demagnetized ratcheting screwdriver, long nose pliers, wire strippers, pocket screwdriver with standard and phillips ends, anti-static wrist strap, allen wrenches, tweezers, IC extractor, parts retriever, tweezers, 6" phillips bit, metric sockets, standard bits, phillips bits, torx bits, and an 8 compartment spare parts box with some useful spare parts like jumpers. The only things that I normally use that are not in this kit are diagonal cutters that I use to make network cables (though you can use the cutters on the pliers, I like a separate cutter), and a mini screwdriver set I use on laptops. I have personally used the 55-piece kit at work for 3 years now (because the company chose that kit - can't argue with free), so I can attest to the quality of the tools. The case is wearing out badly - mostly the elastic is all shot, but the tools have lasted just fine. Since the tools are the important part, I really can't complain. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth the extra cost.
I was looking for a monitor cable to use with my new Avocent KVM switch and hoped that a more expensive cable would offer better signal quality. I bought this Belkin cable and a 6 ft Tripp Lite (that was a tenth of the cost) and there was a huge difference in image quality. I'm buying another one of these to replace the Tripp Lite as I'm extremely picky about image quality.

I'm using the Avocent Switchview USB in combination with a Dell 1801FP Ultrasharp LCD panel and the the Belkin cable offers a pristine image. The cheaper Tripp Lite cable I have has what I would describe as a ghosting effect on the image where black text on a white background looks just a touch smeared. If you are picky about image quality, this cable is worth it. Disappointingly enough, the Trip Lite appeared to be of good quality -- gold plated connections, ferrite core at one end, and low gauge (thick) wires -- but I guess appearances aren't everything.

1-0 out of 5 stars Expensive Cable that when all was said and done Failed
I purchased this cable for my 17" flat screen monitor so that I could have a couple of extra feet to move my monitor further from the computer. Almost all monitor cables come in 6 foot lengths. At first, it worked just great. But after about 5 months of use, my monitor was very streaky, with lines extending across the screen from side to side. The problem was with the cable, and now I am out [money] with nothing to show for it. My monitor is cramped back on the side of my desk now too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Cable for big Monitors
If you need a replacement cable for your monitor don't just buy the same [price] type that came with it. If you have a high quality monitor you will see the difference using this cable. If you have a cheap monitor you may not see the difference, but the cable will outlast your monitor. It's money well spent. It's a very high quality product. Cleared up a 'flicker' problem for me that was caused by an old cable and electronic interference. Good shielding. ... Read more
