The device is extremely light compared to similar units. The resistance, however, is slightly stronger, making some kind of fixing it to the table almost mandatory. Either that or you'll have to push it down every time you move it, so the friction does the stabilizing. The motion is linear rather than arcing, which requires some time getting used to. I'm still not sure if this was a good decision. There is a number of hat switches and buttons on the throttle and you'll probably never run out of them. Their placing, however, is not as good as with Cougar's throttle, for example. In my opinion, an ergonomic rework of the unit would be beneficial. In any case, if you need more buttons, programming options make further possibilities almost infinite. There is also a microstick which is quite useful, but there are no dials. A minus, as modern flight sims make good use of dial controls. Programming abilities are exceptional and belong to the very top. Complemented with CH Fighterstick, there is no other equipment to rival it. As with other CH gear, the feel is somewhat toyish, but don't be fooled by it - this is a quality product and it will last very long time. Verdict: Fine product to complement your CH gear. Reliable, with great programming abilities, but it could have been even better with dials, arcing motion and somewhat improved ergonomics.
The motion is smooth and stable, and it has a large enough base that it doesn't slip around when you're ... Read more

At first I was at a loss on how to program them, then I stumbled accross www.ch-hangar.com, a support forum where questions are answered by CH Products employess and members of the community. When I asked for help I got a full custom profile for Battlefield: 1942 that works great. You can tell this stick is built to last, and the throttle and pedals are solid also and the software is excellent. My only complaint is the placement of a button on the lower shaft of the joystick where my right pinky rests--preventing me from getting a true white-knucle grip on the stick (the same button also appears on the combatstick usb model). [Update:I was able to remove this button without much trouble so all is well. I did not have to disassemble the stick to do this.] I have yet to set the stick up with IL-2: Forgotten Battles, but I feel confident I'll get some help if necessary. www.ch-hangar.com also has a section with downloadable profiles for a number of games which is very handy.
With my last stick being the TM Cougar, I learned to appreciate softer springs, precision and overall reliability. Most of these were missing with my one year old Cougar which now seems was all about looks. Being made by dedicated flight simming accessories company, CH Fighterstick seems to be one of less known secrets of hardcore sim crowd. At first, I was suspicious because of its plastic feel. The stick is big enough even for large hands, while people with smaller hands may find it somewhat uncofortable. Springs are very light. This is a plus for me, as it allows higher precision, especially near the center. You don't get to wrestle the springs during your flying. It has great throw, so there is a lot of room for precision input throughout the range of motion. Trim wheels for both axes help even in simulations without trim controls. Smart stuff. There is a throttle wheel at the base of the stick. If you have a throttle, this wheel can be mapped to another function, but you won't be able to reach it without letting your hand off the trottle or stick. Software is excellent and it actually rivals the software being shipped with the Cougar. As with the stick itself, at first it looks toyish. After a while you learn its huge capabilities. Verdict: The best high end joystick out there - precision, programming abilities, reliability and simplicity being its trump cards. ... Read more

I will keep it very simple for everybody. This little thing is a portal into the FUTURE. I will explain it this way. I have grown to love putting all of my music on my computer. I play my music for hours by playlists...I have had parties, romantic moments, or just plain background music without the worry messing with scratched cd's or hearing them skip in the middle of the fun moments-life is too short for interruptions. This little thing records HIGH QUALITY AUDIO FROM ANY AUDIO SOURCE(TAPES-RECORDS) and also from the MICROPHONE-ALMOST STUDIO QUALITY. For some reason, this thing hasnt taken the technology world by storm! But I guess that is the way it goes sometimes. I have archived all of my Stern Audio, old songs from tapes, lectures from school, and even comedy shows from tv. It is a great mp3 player. Amazon only has the 256mb player, but go to pogoproducts.com and get the 128-I listen to about an hour and a half of music. If you want more, you can buy a SD/MMC card and add space. Get this thing if it sounds good to you. If you want help, I will be more than happy to help.(Call me an altruist)

Before finding this one, I had purchased an HP color laser in the same price range, thinking that a color laser would certainly be the best option for me! Was I ever wrong!! What a disappointment, at least the one I bought! Extremely noisy, slow and constant paper jams. I only had it for one day (well, only part of a day!) and was completely fed up! So I sent it back and hoped I could find something better that wouldn't break the bank! Then, a friend of mine recommended Xerox. I figured they would be too expensive, but what the heck... never hurts to look! Then lo and behold, the salesman came to my house and showed me the Phaser line of printers (as well as the more expensive color lasers). Wow -- something nice in my price range! In this brand, the Phaser and color laser printers looked pretty comparable in print (all fantastic!!), but with my budget, the solid ink Phaser seemed like the way to go. (It's about a thousand dollars cheaper than their comparable color laser, if I remember correctly. And I can think of other things to do with a thousand extra dollars!!) I was skeptical at first, however, considering that this "solid ink system" is a newer technology. Thought I might be taking a risk, but the samples I saw from this printer were just as good (actually better!) than those of printers I had seen elsewhere at three times the price! I was absolutely blown away!!! All of their printers have terrific print quality, but since this was the cheaper one, I decided to go for it! Seemed like a bargain in comparison to everything else I had seen.... trust me, I looked everywhere! You can find many color laser printers for two to three times the money that don't even come close to the Phaser 8400's print quality! Everyone who sees my prints is always very impressed. It's the "star" of my office and just makes me look good! The Phaser is incredibly fast, quiet and always dependable! The controls and interface are easy to use, and if you can't figure something out, you can even print out a manual from the front control panel. It couldn't be any easier! I absolutely love it and highly recommend this printer to anyone needing high-quality color printing... who wants to wait forever for inkjet prints? With this, you get things almost instantly! Great for impatient people like myself!! And you never have to buy special paper. Because of the waxy feel of the ink, your prints are always crisp, glossy and professional, even on cheap paper. In fact, it seems to print best on just regular 20-24 lb stock, as well as card stock. The ink is quite expensive, but at least you'll save money on paper! (Keep in mind that you cannot use the photo paper that is made for inkjet printers or the special glossy color laser paper -- it will smear!) But who cares? Your prints look glossy on regular paper anyway, so you don't need anything special! The only real downfall is that it has to stay powered on for the ink to stay melted... this results in a very warm (okay, HOT!) office, so you do need to have good ventilation or air conditioning in warm weather. But to me, that's a minor issue that I can compensate for.... it's worth it for such a quality printer. (It automatically goes to "power saver" mode after being idle for a while, though, so that does help.) The ink seems quite expensive (about $400 to fill it with all four colors... ouch!), but when you consider how long it lasts, it's possibly cheaper than an inkjet in the long run. I've had this printer for four months and have only had to buy ink ONCE so far... with my old inkjet I was buying at least 2 new cartridges every month (at $50 each)!! So it's probably not as expensive as it seems, when you figure the cost per page. (And remember, you're saving money on paper!!) I should also mention that the support from Xerox has been outstanding as well! They are always there to answer questions and have been happy to help with anything, large or small! True professionals that care about their customers! Everyone I dealt with was very friendly. Nice people! (Hey, good customer service is very important... seems like that's lacking in too many companies today, but not Xerox!) So as you can tell, I am very satisfied with this purchase. Yes, it was a little expensive for someone used to an inkjet printer, but for this quality, it was definitely worth it and I have no regrets whatsoever. A great value when you consider the cost of a similar color laser printer -- anything that even comes close will cost you two to three times as much as this one! And if you compare the Phaser with everything in its OWN price range, there is just NO comparison! The Xerox Phaser 8400 just blows away the competition! It's just unbelievable! Compare them for yourself and you'll see what I mean!! Keep in mind that if you only need something for home use or don't even print that often, this is too much printer for you.... go ahead and stick with an inkjet. But if you need a great office or graphics printer, this is it!! To describe it in just one word, it's AWESOME!!!!! ... Read more

Optional photo ink can be added for printing high-quality photos. The Canon BJC-55 includes a CD-ROM, printer drivers, and user's guide. --Emily Bakko Features Reviews (7)
The printer is just the perfect size to slide in to my briefcase, and adds little weight. It's battery operation is really what caught my eye, it says you can print about 100 pages with a full charge, but I think its a bit less than that. However, the battery takes little time to charge. I was not aware it would come with as much ink as it did, came with 2 color cartidges, 1 black (small), and 1 black (large), as well as two trays that they are held in. The Fast IrDA is such a fabulous thing, wireless printing all the way. I decided to purchase a USB cable, its much easier some times using the cable then the IrDA (Infared) port. The quality of the documents is fantastic, matching (and beating!) my desktop printers at home. The speed is good, considering this is a portable printer. The only real drawback is that it is a single sheet feed printer, unless you buy the paper loader, which I will surely do! This is THE BEST portable printer I've found on the market, it is well worth the money. This is a small update, I've been using the printer for about 5 months now, and everything has gone smoothly. I purchased the auto-sheet feeder from Canon (directly, from their web site) and it performs just like a normal desktop printer would! I'm still loving it.
It's a truly amazing product. I can't think of another computer peripheral that still costs the same as it did 4 years ago -- and is still worth the high price. Why can't anyone else match it at a lower price? Darned if I know! ... Read more

They control the throttle and the ailerons but not the rudder. I have turned off auto rudder and have tried to assign yaw to the pedals but in that option to assign you move the controller in the way you want it to be assigned and it auto detects the movement. Unfortunately, it doesn't detect a movement of the pedals in that option so I can't assign it. In spite of this anomaly if I test out the pedals they are working fine on 2 axes. In summary, you might need a computer boffin to configure it if you are using FS 2000.
Installation is painless, and Microsoft flight simulator 2002 will use them without any special configuration. Although the CH Products website says you can use these for car games, you are better off buying pedals that are made for car games. ... Read more
