4-0 out of 5 stars Install only if you have good PC skills!
Good: Nice card with lots of features. Digital VCR and TV/Movie Dialog transcription.

Bad: Badly written ATI installation software and documentation can cause headaches and PC crashes.

I purchased the AIW Radeon PCI Bus 32MB version about two weeks ago. I spent about three hours trying to get the software to run properly. The bundled Media Center and Drivers totally corrupted my DirectX 8.1 drivers. The documentation included is practically useless and the folder names on the install CD make it very difficult to ID what you want to manually install. But once installed it seems to work as advertised. I still get no sound from the digital VCR feature though, I just downloaded the latest drivers and software from ATI's site, so hopefully this will be able to fix the problem.

Watching TV from your PC monitor is fine, although the picture sharpness is a little soft. The MP2 recording quality is good, just be sure you have A LOT of disk space. The MP2s at acceptable quality runs at about 1MB/Sec!! The movie images are a little bit on the soft-side but still very good, don't expect DVD-like quality! The faster your PC, the better off you'll be. I am running a P3-600 with 256MB RAM and 20GB HD.

I like the ability to turn the desktop wallpaper into a live TV screen. I also think the ability to record actual TV/movie scripts is way cool. It is a feature that takes the Closed Captioning and transcribes the dialogue into a Rich Text Format on your PC. And of course you have the ability to capture screen shots from wahtever you happen to be watching. ATI claims that their software will not record copyright-protected programming (ie DVDs or VHS). I have not tested this claim. Finally the card seems to do fine as a gaming card. I ran Alice (some minor lags with detailed 32bit textures, 800x600) and No One Lives Forever with good results. While it's no GeForce3, it's fine considering that it is supposed to be an "All-In-One" card.

If you have the PC skills and patience during installation, the card's features and performance will reward your efforts. Just be sure you get the latest drivers and software from ATI. Don't use that miserable setup CD that's included!

4-0 out of 5 stars Powerful, versatile card
Somewhat difficult to configure initially (using some of the screen resolution settings made the screen go completely blank. Had to reboot in safe mode several times and edit the win.ini file before I found a compatible setting). Since the installation manual isn't too helpful, this card is best suited to people who have some experience installing computer hardware.

Once installed, it has worked flawlessly. Some of the features are really cool: digital VCR (works much like a Tivo), ability to run a monitor and TV at the same time, stills gallery.

Serious gamers will note this card doesn't have the cutting edge polygon rendering that the top Nvida cards have. But most people will find this card fast enough for most games. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars O.K. card for the everyday user, gamers beware...
I bought this card thinking that I would be able to run most of my games seamlessly without any choppiness in the highest graphics settings, boy was I wrong. Most, if not all of my games(MOA, C&C Generals, Raven Shield) are unbearable in the highest detail settings. Raven Shield is unplayable due to the graphic distortion and the choppiness, even thought ATI is the featured manufacturer. If you want a good card I suggest getting something with at least 128 MB DDR and a speedy processor. The 7000 is too slow and has too little memory to support the system hogs. The reason I give the 7000 3 stars out of 5 is that there was a substantial performance difference between my integrated Pro Savage 32MB SDRAM and the installation of the 7000, and it is a stable card with few problems. (AMD 1600+, 640 PC2100 DDR RAM).

1-0 out of 5 stars ATI needs to be more considerate
I purchased the Radeon 7000 and found that it was not supported by Madden 2003, so I went to replace it with one that was and found out that the ATI software was everywhere on my hard drive. ATI makes it impossible to remove the programs. I ended up having to format the whole hard drive!! I would not recommend this product to anyone.

2-0 out of 5 stars Can't play the great games on this one...
This is a good card - if you can not afford the higher priced ones. 64MB DDR, Great - but there are multiple problems with the Gamma. Most of my games need to be touched up a bit by going into the settings and putting the brightness up.

I tried to play WarCraft III, Everquest, Age of Mythology and NeverWinter Nights - had problems with all of these games.

If you are looking for a good card - to get by on - this is for you.
If you are a heavy gamer - DON'T THINK ABOUT IT.

Your best bet is to stick with any of the GeForce cards - I just purchased the Xtasy 64MB DDR GeForce 4 card - what a difference....
Hope this helps...

5-0 out of 5 stars I've had absolutely no problems with this card...
This card runs great on my HP pavilon 8776c. I recently pruchased the widescreen 17" Sony hi-res entertainment display, and the ATI Radeon 7000 (64mb) has had no problems making this moniter look beautiful.

4-0 out of 5 stars So far ,Excellent, 1 problem
love it, except for not being able to play OQUIRRH Hunting Adventures Combo Pack. Video locks up in game.version 1.9XP appreciate all help.Plays perfect on another computer. Thanks. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Hardware potential is there, drivers may not be.
Given that most people who look for a video card that can run their 3D games, I was surprised that the Radeon would be able to run up to par with the Nvidia's GeForce2 (of course, not beating it all the time). Though, 3D is not everything. The ATI Radeon has superb 2D quality, which can only be topped by Matrox. Their DVD playback/decoder is one of the best in the industry. So for overall performance, the ATI Radeon is a card that can satisfy you in all areas.

Though, there is only one nagging thing about this video card. In history, ATI has a lot of trouble releasing good performing drivers. This may be important since we are going to have different OS's every two years or so. Though, the hardware potential is there. If ATI would get their driver development straight, I would have given this card 5 stars.

So, if you are looking for speed for your 3D games, buy another 3D card. If you want the whole package, this is the card for you.

4-0 out of 5 stars The best ATI yet
I always mistrusted ATI graphical accelerators, because althought they had very good 2D capabilities, they often lacked the strenght in 3D acceleration. Now imagine that ATI released a card which CAN hold up with todays Geforce and Voodoo Chipsets! ATI Radeon fulfills every single wish that you might want. DVD, Games, 2D- everything is at a remarkable quality. FSAA is excellent, and combined with a strong processor, you can achieve amazingly high framerates even in the most demanding games, like Rune or No one lives forever. Now for the bad part. The DVD software included with the card was showing unexplainable errors which were not client-side, but software-side. But it works perfectly well with other DVD players. This card earned its 4 stars only because of its capacity (32MB) and I highly encourage you to buy a ATI Radeon VIVO (Video in, Video out) with 64MB.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great graphics card
I bought this item on september 2001 and has played me all the games i have. A friend has a 64mb card and yet, my 32mb radeon is still best. It runs all the games you can imagine. The FS2002 runs it perfectly. I am very pleased with this item. Definitely a must buy product.

5-0 out of 5 stars All you need to upgrade a Dell Dimension XPS-T500
I upgraded a Dell 500 MHz PIII stock Rage Pro to this Radeon and the difference is like night and day. Was going to also upgrade the CPU so I could play Ghost Recon, but heck, no need after dropping in a Radeon 32MB DDR. I went from not being able to run the game to getting a fast framerate at 800x600 32 bit color. Save 50% by shopping for an OEM version. Be sure to skip the Radeon VE, Radeon 7000 and 7200 as they are handicapped by either 64 bit data path or half-speed memory.

2-0 out of 5 stars Dont waste your time and money
I bought the ATI AllInWonder Radeon, and was so unhappy with the drivers that I will never buy ATI again. The AllInWonder cannot be used with Windows Media Encoder or RealProducer due to ATI's drivers. It has been a year and they still haven't fixed it. It took ATI months to come out with a good OpenGL driver. Using the ATITv app, going full screen locks up the system. Poor tech support on top of it.

The GuidePlus system is REALLY slow at downloading guide data...regardless of your connection speed. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This review is not about the ATI card but about the seller!
Beware! I purchase the card because it was so cheap. And what did I get? A stupid music CD. The shipping was more than my purchase. He offered me a refund minus the shipping. People promoting FALSE advertisement anywhere should be ARRESTED or at least pay back a FULL REFUND. Just want to let the viewers know, I was RIPPED off and I burned the music CD I received!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointment
ATI claimed to have done something groundbreaking with the Rage128, yet the Voodoo3 quickly came out and blew it away. In fact, the Voodoo2 already outperformed the Rage128 in a few games, and the Voodoo2 was an aging card even then. Not to mention that ATI's drivers could have been written better by Microsoft (yeah, I know, low blow)... The Rage128 isn't compatible with certain Macs, either (some of which were quite common when Rage128 was released). Of course, they don't tell you this. Their tech support still claims it to be (after 3 or 4 years now) a temporary compatability problem that they are working to solve. All in all, my experiences with this card made me grow to hate ATI and everything they do.

5-0 out of 5 stars ATI RAGE ORION... #1!
For the price as low as $110, ATI's RAGE ORION gives outstanding graphic detail on all of the outcoming 3D games for Apple. I especially loved how I could set the graphics to HIGHEST QUALITY on a huge 3d game such as Quake III Arena!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Video Card.
It should be noted that this is an ATI Rage Orion 16 MB Video Card for the Macintosh. ATI cards are an outstanding value, and they are always working to improve them. ... Read more
