5-0 out of 5 stars Great glass!!!
What can I say? Yes, it's a bit expensive. And yes, it weighs about a ton. But the quality of this lens is absolutely great. If you own a DSLR like the D30, D60 or 10D this lense effectively becomes a 25.6-56 mm zoom. Which is great since there aren't that many high quality moderate wide-angle lenses available for these DSLR's. If used on a 1Ds or a film SLR then the 16-35 suddenly becomes the stuff that dreams are made of. This is one hell of a lens! If you are planning to buy a wide-angle zoom lens for your EOS camera and are considering the purchase of a non-Canon lens, don't do it! I used a few of those before buying the 16-35 f/2.8L USM and regretted it almost from day one. Yes, they are cheaper, but if you're serious about photography in the long run you'll end up buying the real thing anyway. So better wait and save up a litlle longer. ... Read more

Note: The Canon i560 is no longer being manufactured. You may want to consider purchasing the newer Canon Pixma iP3000 instead.

The Canon i560 Desktop Photo Printer delivers fast, professional-level performance for the home--or home office. Canon's specially developed software package includes Easy PhotoPrint and Easy WebPrint programs designed to take home printing to a higher level. Operating as a toolbar in Microsoft IE, Webprint automatically smoothes and aligned pages, resulting in both text and background images reproducing cleanly. PhotoPrint boosts color saturation while keep tones realistic and accurate; the results are grain-free textures and exceptionally vivid colors.

If you're looking for a printer to use with your digital camera, you'll be glad to see the i560 is PictBridge compatible. This allows you to connect any PictBridge camera or camcorder directly to the convenient front-panel port and product instant prints. A borderless 4-by-6-inch image is produced in less than a minute, while enlargements up to 8.5 by 11 inches are available with the touch of a single button.

Your letters and text documents will also look their best, thanks to rich pigment-based inks that produce a sharp black color. The i560 features a symmetrical print head design with 1,600 nozzles that virtually eliminates color variance and banding problems frequently found with other high-speed, bidirectional printers. Speeds up to 22 pages per minute make this printer perfectly at home for small businesses or busy families.

The i560 printer features the economical Canon Think Tank System, combining four individual ink tanks with intelligent management practices that equal more efficient ink usage and lower printing costs. 5-0 out of 5 stars WOW! Great Photo Printer For Just A Bit More Than New Ink
My old HP 880C needed new ink cartridges but I felt the money spent on ink (forty - fifty dollars) would be better spent towards a new, up-to-date technology printer. Man, prices have come down in the five years since I got the HP. Print quality has gone the opposite way (way up). This printer prints FANTASTIC photos. The sample Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy prints are indistinguishable from lab prints...in many ways they're even better because you can crop/frame exactly what you want and print only the shots you really like. I love this printer. Right now, Amazon sells a 50 pack of the Canon 4x6 photo paper plus for just under 8 bucks with free super saver shipping on twenty-five dollar orders. In addition, consider that this printer has separate ink cartridges and relatively cheap ink prices and you can't go wrong.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great printer for price!
I just bought the i560 last week when my BJ2000 died. I use my printer frequently for school papers and this printer prints very crisp, clear letters. More recently, I started using it to print out pictures. My BJ2000 could also do pictures, but not near as well as this printer. I used the Canon 4x6 Photo Paper Plus Glossy sample that came with the printer and was very impressed with the quality of the pictures. They looked at least as good as the ones I get when I send them out to be developed. It also has some great tools to optimize photos which gives you an even better picture. The only drawback that I have found so far is that pictures don't seem to come out as 'pretty' if you use general purpose photo/imaging film. Glossy photos seem to come out the best.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Value I've Found
For speed, print quality, quiet operation, long ink cartridge life, and versitility this bets the Epson, HP, Lexmark, and Panasonic competition by far. I've been using the i560 for 11 months and have no complaints. I sold all my other printers at a yard sale last spring and haven't missed any of them.

5-0 out of 5 stars You cant do better for your money
My last printer from a few years back was an Epson. At first the printer was good then there was the dreaded clogged print head which frequent Epson printers. After that I swore that my next printer would have the option of replacing the print head. Fast forward a few years forward and I purchased the i560 with complete budget on mind. I wasnt expecting anything other than an average printer, when I began using the unit I found that its more than an average printer.

    Good:
Borderless printing on glossy paper is amazing with this unit even at 8x11.5 paper. The printer has a decent build and the seperate color tanks is a fantastic. Text printing has been the majority of the printing use for this unit but photos from my 2MP camera look amazing on the 4x5 photo plus paper.

    Bad:
As with any product you can find flaws. Borderless prints will have a very thin line (as thin as a strand of fine hair) at the bottom of the print. This is mostly noticable if your looking for it and if its on black. From what I understand when printing photos it doesnt use the black ink but the combination of the 3 colors to produce black.

In either cases these are not major issues and shouldnt stop anyone from purchasing this unit if your in the sub 100 range for a printer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little printer
I just bought this and I am really impressed. I have used only Epson printers before this and finally dumped them because the print heads always jammed or it ran out of ink after having to repeatedly clean the heads. I came to a point where I needed a new ink cartridge for my Epson 785EPX and they were $50 for 2 at CostCo OR I could buy a new Canon i560s for $80 and ink is only $30 for 2 (all CostCo prices). Well I bought the Canon and will never go back to Epson.

First, the Canon has a replaceable print head. So if it every wears out or gets clogged you can replace the print head and don't have to toss the whole printer. 2nd, its very quiet - much, much less noisy than that my Epsons. 3rd, the print quality is very, very good. B&W text is laser quality but print speed seemed a little slow (maybe I had it on high quality). Color images print surprisingly fast - faster than on the Epson and Web pages with mixed text and colored items print extremely quickly. 4th, I agree with another reviewer who says the ink cartridges don't have chips in them. So I assume that this printer will continue to let you print if one tank is out of ink. The most annoying thing with Epson is that if you are out of color ink, the printer will not print - not even B&W text until you replace the color ink! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Professional Quality Photos
I love having my own photo lab at home! This printer is simply fantastic and produces photos that look great. In fact, I can hardly tell the difference from the photos printed with my CP-330 and the ones I've had professionally developed. Photos come out incredibly sharp and colorful.

My favorite feature on this printer is the fact that I can plug my camera directly into it to print a photo that was taken mere moments before. It is so much fun to take photos and then almost immediately be able to have and share a print of it.

If you are looking for an easy to use, high quality photo printer, this would be the perfect choice.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good little printer!
I like the clear protective coating on the paper. Seems to be waterproof, which I can't say for the other brand of printer that I looked at. I wish it were easier to find the sizes of paper other than 4x6, though, especially since the printer comes with a 4x8 tray. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid, but not spectular
I got the CP-200 as a Christmas gift (one that I requested specifically) and have been reasonably happy with it so far. Fit and finish of the printer are remarkable - very solid construction, very nice workmanship, very classy design. I have a Canon S30 camera and the two look like they are made to go together.

I would give the print quality a 8.5 out of 10, with 10 being 35mm photoshop quality. With picture taken at a full 3.0 megapixel resolution and sent directly to the print, the results are pretty darned good - good enough to pass as standard 35mm prints at first glance. This printer seems to handle landscapes better than portraits - the landscapes I've done are virtually identical to photo shop prints, but the portraits start to fall apart a little bit when it comes to fine detail like the shadows around faces and tough areas like this. Don't get me wrong - at arm's length you'll never notice the difference. Quality is CLEARLY better than any inkjet I've ever owned.

The paper and ink situation is an annoyance - you have to buy Canon postcard paper specific to this printer and it comes with the ink. Expect to pay close to $0.50 per print for the paper and ink alone. And finding it can be tough - I tried KMart, Target and Radio Shack in succession with no luck and finally found the paper at Office Depot.

The person who bought me the printer also bought a package of paper to go with it - but she bought the smaller print version of the paper (it's like credit card sized). One problem - this paper size requires a different paper cassette that is not included with the printer, so I couldn't even try the gift out initially. On top of that, I STILL haven't even seen a place to buy one of the odd sized cassettes - even Ebay turned up nothing.

The printer will give you pretty darn nice prints if you're willing to deal with the annoyances. I could have returned it, but decided to keep it because the print quality is entirely respectable, but not spectacular.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great pictures, some hassles
I bought this printer on an impulse after taking lots of digital pictures with my Canon A80 on a vacation. There is no warning about how pricey this printer can become. It came with 5 postcard size sheets and a cartridge that would print only the 5 pictures. Once they were gone, since you hadn't been warned, it was back to the store for another ink cartridge and paper. You have to buy an ink cartridge and paper pack for the number of prints you. These are available at amazon.com at the cheapest price I've found. It costs about 52 cents a print if you buy the 36 print cartridge packed with 36 sheets of paper.

(Canon also confuses the consumer by selling 4x6 sheets of paper without ink cartridges. These are for use in other printers, not this one. So beware! There is no ink cartridge included, they are just a tetch too large to go in this printer, and they won't work in it--but they are displayed right next to these printers in every store I looked in.)

The aggravation of the paper and ink cartridges aside, the printer makes beautiful prints. My regular HP printer prints very good pictures except in black and other dark color areas. So I use this Canon printer to print those which the other printer doesn't do so well on. I had no problem getting the software installed and this printer working from my computer.

Most of my pictures will be taken with my old Canon Ae1 and printed with Kodak Perfect Touch processing but my digital pictures will be printed on this printer when I need quality prints from them.

5-0 out of 5 stars convenience vs. price
so what if you pay a little more for the prints?!! i usually have get togethers on the weekends and for the convenience of sending a photo home with my guests, it sure is worth it!! my guests don't have to wait UNTIL to receive a copy of the photos taken!! for just regular prints, i take in for developing, cd, or connect my canon powershot to the computer and print there. the manual says that an ink cartridge must be replaced with each new pack of paper. so, i plan ahead. people, quit complaining about a simple inconvenience!! we live in america, do you really have anything legitimate to complain about?? but i digress. this little printer is sure handy dandy!! i received both for my bday!! ( we upgraded technologically this year ) VERY COOL!! LOVE IT!! have had no trouble whatsoever!! ENJOY!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this little toy!!!
We bought this to go with us on vacation. thought it would be more fun for the kids to send postcards home that actually had them in the picture. We love this. We did have to search a bit to find the creditcard size paper tray (this add on was about 13 bucks). the pic quality is SOOO much nicer than than an inkjet. It is fun to watch it layer the colors and end up with a picture. I thought we would like it but was surprised at how very much fun it is (really fun with a bunch of drunk girlfriends!!!). Yes, there are cheaper ways to get pictures, but we really like how immediate it is. We use it with a canon A75.

5-0 out of 5 stars Canon Card Photo Printer CP-200
The printer itself is wonderful, you could almost fit it in your pocket. The problem is, you have to plug it into the wall, and you have to plug it into your camera. It cost a lot less than the battery powered canon photo printer. So for me, it is worth having to plug it in. Next, it really does print in 90 seconds, once it starts to print, but figure up to another 90 seconds to get the data from your camera into the printer. Next, you can give the photo a bath in water and it will come out just fine. But don't be tricked into thinking that a $129 printer is going to do as good as the $129,000 developing machines. Sometimes, the photos will surprise you at how good they are though.

Having said all of that, once you get it plugged in, and the photo into the printer, the party does begin. The photo goes back and forth three time, first yellow, then red, and then blue. That makes you wonder, how did they do that. How do they know just the right amount of color to use.

Then if you can get over the fact you paid about fifty cents for a print, it is sort of a nice print. On borderless prints it does flatten the photo a bit. Canon says it stretches the photo out to the border. The solution for this is to print with a border. The photo will not go to the edge of the paper, but you will not have a photo that is stretched or flattened to fit the 4 by 6 size. SLR camera of course are already 4 by 6, my point and shoot is 4.5 by 6. I would rather they cut or crop the .5 off, rather than to "stretch" or flatten the photo.

This printer it is pretty solid, it looks like it will hold up pretty good. As if Cannon is hoping to be able to sell you lots of paper and ribbons. I am sure that you will pay Cannon $500 to $1000 for supplies before this printer would ever start to get old or wear out.

They are durable photos, I am sure 100 people could handle them and they would not show to much wear and tear. This is a party trick, there is no doubt about it. If your looking for a WOW effect for your next get together, go for it. If you want to keep feeding your money into this little gem, I am sure it will keep giving you photos to pass around to your friends.

I would like to see the price of the photos come down closer to the 29 cents it cost to get digital photo's developed at the online servies where we can set up our photo albums. Or at our local Target or Walmart store. I just wonder if the WOW effect is worth paying the extra price. But I hear there are people who sell these photos out in the clubs for $10, so I suppose you could turn it into a profitable business.

The technical support at Canon is very good, if you need any help getting your cp-200 set up with your computer or camera. Their software is reasonable to work with, I have seen a lot worse photo software out there. It works with your computer just fine, if you want to hook it up to the computer. ... Read more

    Amazon.com Product Description

It's the coolest party toy since the Polaroid: the new Canon CP-300 Photo Printer. Connect it directly to your Powershot-series Canon or other PictBridge-supporting digital camera, and you'll be printing snapshots and stickers faster than you can say "cheese." PictBridge is an industry standard that lets you print images by directly connecting your digital camera to your printer, regardless of the brand or model, without using a computer.

This printer can connect directly to select digital cameras. Learn more about PictBridge.
The included USB cable adapter also lets you connect the CP-300 to your camera or your computer for access to images stored there.

Each wee image features 256-level color and 300 dpi resolution; the dye-sublimation process provides results similar to traditional photos, with rich detail and accurate skin tones. Supported papers include a variety of sizes, as well as bordered and borderless options. Whatever you choose, your images print in seconds--about 85 seconds for a postcard size, 40 for tiny labels or credit card size, when printing directly from Canon PowerShot cameras.

For added portability, the CP-300 includes a rechargeable Ni-MH battery pack and supports an optional car battery adapter (model CBA-CP100). Canon provides a one-year warranty covering parts and service.

    What's in the Box:
Card Photo Printer CP-300 body, paper cassettes (4-by-6-inch and credit card size), ink cassette, Ni-MH battery, compact power adapter, CD-ROM driver, trial standard paper (4-by-6-inch size) ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Possibly the best quality photo printer for the consumer
I would have given this a 5 if only full size paper (8.5 X 11) was supported. I was luckly to receive this online for Canon's list price and not some USED one asking more. Seems like price hikimg on a hot item which as I write, is vitrually back-ordered on every reputable 0n-line dealer. Try ordering "Red" label from dealers claiming "in stock". Those are the dealers rated 1 and 2 stars reliabilility on some sites. I was almost ready to buy the CP-200 with the car adaptor when I stumbled on a known and trusted west coast dealer at 279.99 complete, shipped Second Day Blue at no extra charge. But the most impressive aspect was the print quality, which puts any One-Hour-Photo to shame and the direct plug in to my Canon A-70 eliminating printer slots for all sorts of media and true portability with the recharable lithium ion battery. The Power Shot's LCD panel allows only the prints you want freeing up Compact Media file space erasing the bad shots as I go. The CP-300 does come with computer drivers for use with a computer (forget Canon's imaging software, Microsoft's Digital Picture Pro or even Picture It! Photo Premium 9.0 is a sub$100 set-back). The only other feature which lacks a 5 ratimg is their increbibly useless software. I have never made my own greeting card but have more software than Hallmark to make them. And just can't seem to find the time for T-Shirt tranfers. Any printer that needs an iron for a project seems a little desperate on features.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, but with 1 caveat
Canon's CP-200 and CP-300 printers are really cool compact gadgets. Finally after you take a picture on your digital camera not only can you print it imediatelily but print it anywhere (there's AC outlet). I recommend the 300 model more because it has rechargable battery pack, where-as 200 model doesn't. A big caveat is you need to carry extra ink and paper (and maybe batteries and charger!), so the total travel weight may be much more than you think. Is it worth the money? I think if you take a lot of travel pix yes, considering how photography can win you friends and printing photos for your subjects can, boy, double-win over friends for life. Just be prepared for the extra 4-5 pounds for the entire travel package.

Print quality is only 300dpi but good. It's slow, but the colors are well toned. Finally my cat ...... looks her natural color (brownish gray) on paper... No previous HP printers did her beautiful coat justice.

These pair of printers work with almost all major brand digital cameras: Canon, Minolta, Nikon, Panasonic, Pentax, Sanyo, Sony, Toshiba, HP, Kodak, Polaroid, etc. Will NOT work with lesser brands like SiPx, Targus, Samsung, Picty, etc. because they don't support the technology.

3-0 out of 5 stars Incompatible with HP Photosmart Software
I ran into a problem where the paper type selection was unavailble. Canon technical support was less than helpful. I figured out that the HP Photosmart software that's installed for my HP P1000 printer was causing the problem. After I exited the HP software in the system tray, the Canon printer began working fine. Canon's response was sometimes software is incompatible. I've found several reports on the web with people having the same problem, so Canon should know about it. The only reason I'm rating it as a 3 is because the picture quality when it actually prints from the PC is excellent. The results weren't quite as good printing directly from a Canon S200 camera; the picture wasn't as sharp.

1-0 out of 5 stars Good quality photos, but--
These Canon card printers do a fine job if you are printing directly from the camera -- or it is the only printer you own if trying to print from your computer. I bought the printer to do snapshots, while I own several other printers for documents and larger photographs. Even if you only have Adobe Acrobat on your system, the printer will not work. It is useless to me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Printer, but........
I have had this portable printer only a few days, and have only printed 18 prints on it so far, all on the Card Size photo paper. These little pictures are really neat, and will be a conversation item at family gatherings, I'm sure. The color you get is phenomenal, as true as any photo coloring I have ever seen, even on commercially developed film. My only complaint with it is that is is not easy for me to use. Evidently others have not had this problem, if what I have read in the other "Customer Reviews" is correct. Perhaps that is because all the others appear to be men who have written the reports and I am a female and perhaps not as "technical savvy" as the guys, as well as being older than most, if not all, of them, since I am a great grandmother, and my generation wasn't exposed to electronic technology at an early age and we did not grow up with a lot of electronic gadgets, but I love them, all the same!
I hooked my Canon G5 camera to the printer, as per instructions, and had no problems there, (I had my dear husband's assistance with all the cables) and got the ink cartridge and paper tray loaded into the printer with no trouble, but my problem started when I got to the point of sending instructions from the camera to the printer. I did get it done, obviously, since I printed 18 pictures, but sending the correct message to the printer didn't always work correctly! I got nine prints of a photo that I didn't even know that I had asked for! I had not chosen that particular image to print, yet it kept pumping them out! By fiddling with the controls on the camera I was able to print a few photos that I did choose, but the Menu on my Canon G5 does not make it simple. You don't choose any of it on the actual printer, other than what size photos you want and that is determined by the size photo paper that you load into it, everything else is done with the Menu screen on your camera. I have three other digital cameras, but only one of a Canon Digital Camera. I am not sure if I am going to be able to use the other cameras, an Olympus Stylus 300, the Minolta Dimage 7i or the Gateway T50 with this printer or not. I hope that I will be able to, but I don't think they have the "PictBridge" feature that newer digital cameras are equipped with now, though none of my other digital cameras are very old, it is just that this "PictBridge" feature that enables the cameras to work with all printing mediums is very recent. I do like this little printer and will keep it, it wil be great when we go on vacation and it will definitely accompany us, but I wish it were easier to use. If any of you reading this has any tips that might help me, e-mail me with the info most definitely! Also any information on whether or not the printer works with other than Canon cameras or cameras without the "Pict-Bridge" feature. Thanx for any incoming corespondence and helpful information. Sincerely......Alphia D. Larkins aka Mimi3plus3@aol.com ... Read more
